About us

Outstanding remodeling for more then 14 years. Pacific Homeworks has grown to over 300 solution oriented team members. Our focus is on redefining remodeling. We are full service, with the knowledge, dedication, and demand to meet every customers expectations. Our team always brings their A game. As with most companies, Pacific Homeworks Inc. had a very modest beginning. After working in all phases of the home remodeling business for over eight years, a small group of us set out to create a company that would provide homeowners with the most convenient and quality remodeling experience. We started with borrowed office equipment, one old computer, one phone, and a staff of three. Today we have over 3000 employees, five locations and over 22,000 customers. Our success is attributed directly to our team. You can feel it when you walk into any of our locations. There is an atmosphere of teamwork, community, unity and drive. We start every day with a meeting to make sure every employee is informed of the latest in product development, installation procedures, new guidelines either state or federal, and recognition of successes from the previous day.

Description of Work: I would avoid this business like the plague. They "dropped" all these door-to-door salesmen into Sunset Cliffs S.D to canvass the neighborhood. They commented on our shake shingle roof and asked to give us a quote to "repair"--our roof. (Our roof was old, and we were planning to re-roof anyway) The salesman was not "connected" to any of the work to be done, did not know anything about the company other than the brochure he handed us, and said someone would call us to set up an appointment. When they called, they insisted on the condition that my husband would also be at the appointment. When I asked why, because he was not available at the time we planned, it was easy to read between the lines and realize that they were coming with contract in hand, and would pressure us to sign right then on the dotted line, and needed both signatures. When I questioned them about this this policy, they said there was nothing they could do about it, because the General Manager insisted it be this way---it was his company policy, no changing it. The appointment was cancelled because of this. They called me again a few months later to "follow up on 10/15/14. This time they referenced the last contact in a very childish and odd way. I asked the caller if they were the company that insisted the "husband and wife" both be present for the presentation, he responded yes. When I questioned him about WHY the "husband had to be present" if he would not be available, a comment to the effect that because the husband "usually pays the mortgage" was given. This was also important he explained, so both spouses understood what was being proposed and could agree on it right at that time. He clearly tried to back-pedal when I became indignant, but it was obvious that getting the "sale" signed off on ASAP in the first meeting was the top goal. The shocking lack of understanding that women also have equal say and earning power left my mouth agape. With this companies' feelings about women and their decision making and buying power, I have no doubt that if only my husband could have attended the sales pitch/meeting, it would have proceeded as scheduled. We have placed Pacific Homeworks on the"do not contact" list.

This company practices hard-sells. They first came to our attention based on a knock on our door. They said they were doing work in our area and would we like an estimate. The estimate took ~ 2 hours; the gentleman who did the estimate was generally well-mannered. He offered us ~ 6% off if we took it that day. The stuff they showed us looked nice and we almost went for it. But I personally don't like that sales practice-- it puts pressure on you when none is needed. When we didn't go for his price, he eventually started coming down, until he was about 10% below the original price, which shows you that their estimates are too high. We didn't use them.
Description of Work: They came and gave an estimate only.

It took them an entire year to get the windows right. The first installation, the windows didn't have grids (the order form clearly stated grids). The second installation attempt, the windows had grids, but were in the wrong pattern (we wanted standard, square grids and they looked like jail bars, which would have been a custom order). The third installation attempt, the grids were correct, but the windows didn't fit. Same for the fourth installation. FINALLY, on the fifth try, they got it right. We had to take time off work for every installation. Pacific Homeworks kept blaming their supplier and said this never happens, but given our experience, I don't believe them. They actually encouraged me to call the supplier to complain, and I told him that's not my job. The salesperson was no help to us after the sale, and he quit/was fired halfway thru this process. I had to call a variety of phone numbers each time to get a response, and I was always the one to call them to follow up on scheduling the next installation attempt. They were usually "just about to call me" when I called them. During the sales pitch, they said their laborers are trained experts for each field (ex: windows guys don't do roofing) but we heard the window guys talking about having to do a roofing job the next day. I will NEVER use them again, and I've told a lot of other people not to use them.
Description of Work: Installed 3 replacement windows on the front of the house. Removed and disposed of old windows.

A male came to the door and asked if we were interested in an estimate for new windows. He stated that both my husband and I had to be there. He also estimated that it would be about a half hour visit. I believe the lady arrived 10-15 minutes late. My husband was part of the consultation for about 45 minutes and wanted to work on the house. I was going to sit through the presentation and then he would join us for the estimate. She refused to continue without his presence and attention. The visit was close to 2 hours and this included her short version of the presentation. The estimate was $23,000 for 12 windows. It was much more expensive than we had expected. We denied their services during the consultation. We received a call stating that they gave us the incorrect estimate and wanted to stop by for 10 minutes to give us the correct estimate. I scheduled an appointment but my husband refused to meet with them again. I called and canceled but they showed up anyway. My husband stated to them that we canceled the appointment so they left. A few days later, I got another call stating that the windows we wanted is overstocked and on sale. We denied of course. Boy this company is persistent or obnoxious for some. Anyway, this tells me that they don't have much business and are desperate.
Description of Work: They performed a presentation, consultation, and an estimate for replacing 12 windows.

I HAD NO ADDITIONAL CALLS OR CONTACT WITH THIS COMPANY UNTIL THE DAY THE WORK WAS TO START, WHEN I HAD TO CALL TO FIND OUT WHERE THEY WERE. THEY SAID THE WORK WAS ON HOLD DUE TO RAIN. I INDICATED THAT THE FIRST PROCESS WAS WATERBLASTING THE HOUSE SURFACE (WHAT HARM COULD A LITTLE RAIN DO?) THEY SAID THEY'D GET BACK TO ME. THEIR REP JUSTIN COMES TO THE HOUSE TO INFORM ME THEY CAN'T DO THE WORK ON THE HOUSE FOR THE AGREED AMOUNT ON THE CONTRACT AND WANTED MORE THAN 10% INCREASE ON THEIR ORIGINAL QUOTE. WELL, I THOUGHT THIS SOUNDED REAL FISHY, SO I CHOSE TO CANCEL THE CONTRACT (I HOPE TO GET MY $100 DEPOSIT BACK WITHOUT GOING TO SMALL CLAIMS COURT.) BEWARE!!! HOPE THEY DIDN'T EXPECT A GOOD REPORT!
Description of Work: ON SEPTEMBER 16TH, THEIR REPRESENTATIVE GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE TO APPLY KENITEX TO EXTERIOR, PLUS ADDITIONAL STUCCO TO EXISTING WOOD AND APPLY BOARDING AROUND WINDOWS AND DOORS. GREG (THEIR REP) QUOTED A PRICE OF $8425.00, AND THE CONTRACT WAS SIGNED. ANOTHER REP COMES OUT THE NEXT DAY TO REMEASURE, AND CONFIRMS START DATE FOR THE 17TH OF OCTOBER.

THEY WERE HERE, THEY TOOK THE WINDOWS OUT, THEY REPLACED THEM, AND THEY EXPLAINED TO ME HOW THEY WERE SEALING THEM WHEN THEY REINSTALLED THEM. THERE WAS NO MESS LEFTOVER WHATSOEVER. I SORT OF FELT LIKE IT WAS A PRICING GIMMICK, BECAUSE THEY STARTED THE COST AT $26,000, BUT THEN CAME DOWN ALMOST HALF, BUT I'M VERY HAPPY WITH THEIR WORK. THEY DID A GOOD JOB AND THE WINDOWS SEEM TO BE OF VERY HIGH QUALITY. THEY SHOWED ONE TYPE OF WINDOW DURING THE ESTIMATE, BUT THEY INSTALLED A DIFFERENT BRAND WHEN THEY DID THE WORK, SO THEY PUT IN DIFFERENT WINDOWS THAN WHAT I HAD EXPECTED.
Description of Work: WINDOWS. THEY INSTALLED 13 REPLACEMENT WINDOWS.

THEY TOLD ME THAT ANYTHING THAT WAS DAMAGED WOULD BE REPLACED AND THAT IT WAS INCLUDED IN THE INITIALLY QUOTED TOTAL COST OF $9752. THEY HAVE COME BACK TO ME ASKING THAT I PAY AN ADDITIONAL $5642 FOR THE DAMAGED PLYWOOD TO BE REPLACED AND BROUGHT UP TO CODE. I THOUGHT THIS WOULD BE INCLUDED WITH THE INITIAL QUOTE. THE CONTRACT SAYS THAT THE ROOF DECK WILL BE REPLACED WHERE NECESSARY.
