Outstanding remodeling for more then 14 years. Pacific Homeworks has grown to over 300 solution oriented team members. Our focus is on redefining remodeling. We are full service, with the knowledge, dedication, and demand to meet every customers expectations. Our team always brings their A game.
As with most companies, Pacific Homeworks Inc. had a very modest beginning. After working in all phases of the home remodeling business for over eight years, a small group of us set out to create a company that would provide homeowners with the most convenient and quality remodeling experience. We started with borrowed office equipment, one old computer, one phone, and a staff of three. Today we have over 3000 employees, five locations and over 22,000 customers.
Our success is attributed directly to our team. You can feel it when you walk into any of our locations. There is an atmosphere of teamwork, community, unity and drive. We start every day with a meeting to make sure every employee is informed of the latest in product development, installation procedures, new guidelines either state or federal, and recognition of successes from the previous day.

This project was done in the upmost professional manner! My wife and I had been talking about replacing our windows for years. One Friday afternoon I was outside doing yard work, when I was approached by one of Pacific Homeworks representatives named Alex. Alex, was a very nice chasimatic gentleman, who was a pleasure to speak with, he informed me that they had been doing work in my neighborhood, and we're going to be in the area giving out free estimates for some of my neighbors. I let Alex know that my wife and I had talked about our windows in the past, and that I would like a free estimate. Well, about a week later we had the pleasure of meeting one of Pacific Homeworks estimators named Kyle. Kyle was quite a funny gentleman, and through his presentation, really educated my wife and I the differences between Windows on the market. We really liked the products that Kyle was able to show us, and we decided to get the work done. We couldn't be happier with that decision, everyone we met from Pacific along the way was truly a pleasure to work with, everything that was supposed to be done, got done above and beyond our expectations. We are writing this review to recommend Pacific Homeworks, in any facet of home remodeling, they are a great outfit, and do amazing work!

Had some issues with the work crew showing up one day and not much communication with the job boss until I called the corporate people in Torrance. After that things went well. I think they did a good job overall but I'm worried about the paint used on my security bars. It should have been oil base as quoted by job boss, not latex. They did prep the bars well and used a decent primer before painting. The actual crew that worked on the house did a great job, very pleased with the worker bees. The house looks great but the trim looks different from what we selected.

Aaron, the company boss, came to our home and spent a great deal of time with us, explaining how various roofing systems work, the benefits, costs, advantages, and drawbacks of various products and installations, and answering all of our questions to our understanding and satisfaction. He had great samples of his products and videos of work being performed. Jeff, our project manager, kept in touch with us often, keeping us in the loop. He was present on the jobsite for extended periods of time and made sure the work was being done to company standards. The site was thoroughly cleaned up at the end of each workday. Everyone was courteous, professional, cordial and very pleasant to interact with. They treated each other with courtesy and respect, as well. Workers worked well together. All work was completed in a timely manner and the result is beautiful. We are two very satisfactory customers and have already made arrangements for two more big remodeling projects with this company. Would recommend them very, very highly. When the time came to talk to a sales representative about the new projects, we got Aaron again. VIP treatment all the way! He arranged for us to get Jeff back as project manager as well.
Description of Work: Removed old, beat-up, ugly brown roof, made repairs to the plywood, flashings, fascia and trim, and installed a drainage system. Removed 33-year-old solar water heating system. Provided a high-quality Corning roof system in a designer color (Pacific Blue) which is unique to our house in this part of town.

Two fellows were canvassing out neighborhood and my wife told them that we were considering painting or re-stuccoing the house. They set up an 'appointment' for the next day to give us a quote for the work. Two guys showed up the next day and we had the worst experience we've ever had with any contractor offering us services!! Doug Evenson told us about how bad other contractors were and how he had many referrals in our area for his New-Cote painting/re-stuccoing services. he became more and more aggressive as he showed us a presentation of his company's product and when after I told him to hurry it up because we didn't have all day to waste with his hour long presentation he finally told us that his company would do the work for a mere $18,000.00! The most any other contractor had quoted us was $6,500 for painting and $8,000 for re-stuccoing. When we told Evenson we were not interested and thank you for stopping by - he would not leave our home! It was like he had become a home invader! I considered calling 911 and having a patrol car dispatched to get him out of the house. He kept pretending to dial his 'boss' and calling his thus getting us a better deal! Just get out! Then, when it was finally obvious that no high pressure used car sales techniques were going to get us to change our minds, he got angry and tried to intimidate us into writing him a check for $1000 as deposit!! I have no idea if his product or work crews are any good or not because we would never, buy anything from a representative who is this unprofessional. And If you think we are the only home owners who have had a bad experience with Pacific Homeworks, just look at the reviews on Yelp! All the same experience as I described above. Hope you avoid this company in the future and they go out of business! dc

I found out about Pacific Homeworks through a sales person who came to my door. While I know some people hate that kind of selling, I don't mind it, so long as they don't play the "Buy it now or the price will be much higher" game. Pacific Homeworks gave me a written bid price and told me the price was good for a year--that information was also on the written bid. That impressed me favorably. It is also one of the reasons they got my business. Anybody who tells me that I have to buy it today to get the price quoted has already lost my business because in my opinion, that approach is used only by companies that significantly overprice their work, or who are dishonest and out to cheat me. I got 3 bids on the work, and two were about the same cost. The third one was $4,000 higher than the other two. Obviously, Pacific Homeworks was one of the two lowest bids. The work was done to my satisfaction. The workers arrived exactly when scheduled, & completed the work in the promised 2 days. The result looks very professional. The assessor provided us with a variety of roof options, and explained the advantages and disadvantages of each. The windows in the new sliding door are weather resistant and in vinyl frame. I must say the new door looks a LOT better than the old one, so I'm actually glad I had to replace the whole door. The workers arrived on time, went right to work, and got the job done in 2 days. Everybody we talked with at the company was courteous, professional and respectful. I found them very easy to work with. The patio and door are on the west side of the house. Heat poured into our kitchen and family room, and the patio was too hot to use in the summer. Given the combination of roof and new glass sliding door, the heat no longer pours into our kitchen and family room, which was one of the benefits promised. Also, with the roof and ceiling fan, even in the hottest weather we can sit on the patio. With the lights, we can use the patio at night too. My neighbors have commented very favorably on the attractiveness of the new porch roof, and having good relationships with neighbors is important to us. Although I have not yet had more work done, I will definitely get a bid from Pacific Homeworks when I am ready to redo my kitchen and have other work done. All in all, I am pleased and have no reservations about recommending this company to my friends and neighbors.
Description of Work: The provider replaced my sliding glass door from the kitchen to the patio, and erected a roof over my patio. A glass pane in the door was broken out when we bought the house, and we found out from glass replacement companies that replacing that particular double paned glass would be almost as expensive as replacing the entire frame and door. The sliding door was old, and showed its age, so we had Pacific Homeworks replace the whole thing. The roof is a substantial roof with recessed lighting and a ceiling fan in the middle. It is made of a composite material rather than wood, which I needed because we have a lot of termites in the area and I did not want to attract termites. They removed the old glass door at no charge, and cleaned up after they were done, leaving my property as clean after the work as it was before they started.

Pacific homeworks came to my door and i told them i was interested in having the kitchen re done. The sales reps that came by looked over everything in the kitchen and gave me their thoughts and ideas on what would be the best route for my kitchen. We sat in for about 2-3 hours discussing all my possibilities. We ended up deciding that re-facing would be the best plan. After they took their rough measurements of counter space, cabinet space and floor space we sat down while they punched numbers. After the loan was approved we were given a few contact numbers in case we had any further questions. The initial meeting went well so we expected the rest to be as smooth. Now most of the work was being done while i was at work but there were frequent reschedules. There were times when i felt like they weren't communicating very well. When they pulled my appliances out of the kitchen to work they simply left them in the middle of my dining room. I found out later that there was slight mis-communication while they were figuring out prices because they left out a trash can slider and undersink flip out tray that i asked for but after i called about three times over the course of two weeks they finally came and fixed that. It was hard to get a response back from them unless it had to do with payments not being received even though i didn't feel like the job was complete. There was a shelf removed from the counter and they had to remove some of the wall. The contractor who was there didn't think it had to be painted i guess because he left in unpatched and unpainted. I had to call several times for that. On top of not painting it he left putty marks all over the counter tops which i had to clean myself. I also made several calls for them to come back and haul of the waste they left behind even though that was a stipulation in our contract that they would do so. Once i finally got done with all the calls and the waiting for promises to be fulfilled the kitchen came out quite nice. I never heard back from the sales people who were supposed to come back out with their CEO and look over the job to see if it was done correctly. There was absolutely no follow through on anyone's part but my own and i don't know much about kitchen repairs so there's no telling if anything else is still wrong. All in all they do good work if you stay on them and harass them to do their job but i for one don't have that kind of time after spending the amount of money that i did. I will not be using them again.

We were solicited by Pacific Homeworks for work. We happened to be in the market for a re-roof, so my Wife made an appointment with them to get a bid. They were on-site for over 3 hours. They used typical hard sell techniques. They asked if they were the first bid, and when we said Yes, they started with a price that was over the top -- 31k for a composite shingle re-roof with 28 squares of roofing. They had produced multiple bar graphs detailing the price increase of roofing in the last few years to back up their numbers. They were insistent that both my Wife and I be in the room for the entire presentation, the lead sales person "Moose" would stop and ask if she would be rejoining us when she was off dealing with out 10 month old son. We told them we were going to get multiple bids before picking a vendor. The primary sales person started to get visibly frustrated. He told us if we sign today, he could get us a 15% discount. We explained that while we appreciate the offer, we still needed to get other bids. He told us his manager might be able to give us a cash discount if we did not need financing, but he would have to get approval and both my wife and I would have to talk to the manager on the phone when he called. He stated this right when my wife was trying to put our son down for a nap, it felt like he was trying to rush our decision. When my wife explained she was going to go away for a while no matter what was said, he revisited the cash discount, saying he could give us an additional 5% off if we acted right then. He called his "manager" and they produced another 10% discount if we would write a letter of recommendation at the start of the project (that is how he phrased it). The manager never asked to speak with me or my wife. After reducing their initial bid by 30%, we still told them we would not commit to any vendor without doing multiple bids. Moose became very short, he said "thank you for your time" about 3 or 4 times as he put his materials back into his bag. We asked for a hard copy of the bid but he declined, stating that someone would be in touch with us. We have received no fewer than 10 phone calls from 4 different phone numbers (Caller ID was PHW, PHW 2, 2PHW, etc..) over the next few days. The following monday they showed up unannounced and said that they needed to re-measure the roof and that I needed to be present, they could not do the measurement with just my wife at home. She politely asked them to leave, and called their main office. While on the phone asking them to stop calling us they continued to try and sell other services or send out another crew to measure. Highly recommend avoiding this company.

Did home inspection, and gave high pressured sales pitch, with today's price, price good for a year, and special discount to sign today. Got very angry when we would not sign today, we wanted a few days to do our due diligence, research his company and testimonials. Would not leave our home until he was forcibly told it is time for you to leave now. The product might be great, but with $15K on the line, and so much pressure for a quick signature, we did not want to trust them outright. We asked for 3-5 days to just verify things and they would not allow us that. That smells fishy and they must be hiding something. A company with integrity would give customers time to think and verify information presented.

We first were contacted by Pacific Homeworks. We had a previous relationship with them. We scheduled an appointment for the evening. Art was out on time. Art spent about 1hr with us going over the details of our project. We agreed to do the work. Nick came out and met us the following evening to remeasure the windows for ordering purposes. About 2 weeks later we got a call from Nick to schedule our installation the following saturday. Justin and another man showed up on saturday and put in our windows. CLean up was very good. Nick came out that afternoon and looked over the project with us. They have called us again, but we are not yet ready for the remaining work.
Description of Work: Pacific Homeworks had previously completed a roofing project for us. Everything went very well with that project. We are soon to have a new baby in our household and have worried about the front windows in our home. They were the old aluminum framed windows. We could feel a draft and it was obvious how thin the glass was. When it was time we knew whom we should hire. They had been contacting us for some time about any future work. We scheduled an appointment and they were out on time. Our representative was informatinve. all our questions were answered. We hired Pacific Homeworks to do our 3 front windows. W We are very happy with this work and will be most likely having them install our remaing windows and Patio doors when we are ready. Thank you for another Job well done. Special thanks to Justin B for an excellent installation.

The afternoon before the job was scheduled to start all the materials were deliver directly to the roof. The roofers were to show up the next day around 8:30 am. The next morning the team of roofers were on sight by 7:30, an hour before they told me they would be arriving. For me, this was great to see. The guy in charge introduced himself to me and explained exactly what they would be doing. The entire job was completed by 1:30 pm. I was then asked to inspect their work. It looked great! The roofers also did an extensive clean up all the way around the house only missing a few little peace of shingles. They actually did a very good job and the roofers were very professional. I have to admit that I was a bit apprehensive about Pacific Homeworks after reading their reviews. I must say, my experience with the workers and the finished product was excellent and I would recommend them to other people.

One of the young men who approached my door today was loud and unprofessional. I heard him talking from down the street and criticizing another homeowner who would not take their offer to arrange an estimate. I wouldn't have answered the door this time, but my front door was already open and I couldn't very well conceal the fact that I was home. After I told him that the company sends out a different crew each month and each time I tell them "no", he proceeded to tell me that if he had a house he would take care of his. What great sales training they must have received to be using that line. I hadn't even told him I was the homeowner, yet he jumped to the conclusion and criticized the upkeep of my house. I do much of the work on my own when I have time between working a couple of jobs, taking college courses, and raising children. Otherwise, I hire contractors with professional-acting employees.
Description of Work: I received an estimate for a new shingle roof several months ago. It was several thousand dollars higher than the price of other estimates, and that price was agreed upon after a couple of hours of the salesmen parking themselves at my kitchen table. I went with another contractor, and I wasn't going to report on Pacific Homeworks. However, after several more months of phone calls and visits by their door-to-door appointment makers, I decided to report upon their lack of professionalism. Every month they send out a crew of appointment guys in a van who then proceed to go around the community. Each time I tell them that I do not require their services.

Pacific Homeworks recently installed my Roof. My Previous roof was a large shake shingle. We only had skip sheeting, so the entire roof needed to be resheeted. We had entertained a previous estimate and were offered the job for 15000. This contractor was going to use staples and did not mention to us anything about needing the sheeting. My representative from Pacific Homeworks Is Aaron Gilfand. He gave us a very thorough explanation of the work to be done. My roof looks amazing and couldn't be happier. We were offered an initial estimate guaranteed for 12 months. This is why we initially had our estimate. We were offered a 10% discount to schedule the work. At the time we were nervous about the decision, but were very comfortable with the education we had received and Aaron as our rep. We just recently joined Angies list, so did not have this service. We did check the BBB report and were relieved to see they boasted an A+. We also verified Pacific Homeworks membership with the League of California Homeowners. We are excited to be part of Angies list, and look forward to using them in the future for helping us identify our next contractor, although we most likely will be using Pacific Homeworks. In short, we are extremely satisfied with Pacific Homeworks and Aaron Gilfand and will highly recommend them. Thank your for a job well done.

The guys that first came out were good. But after that they became kind of pushy. I originally agreed to the service, but then I cancelled the service shortly after. They then wanted me to sign a release that wasn't true and insisted they needed to send another guy out so I could sign a release. I was even called the day before to make sure I would be home to sign it. I did tell them I already sent in the paperwork to cancel but they told me this was different. It ended up just being another hard sells pitch that I finally said "If this is such a great price and you are as good as you say you are, after I get other bids and do some investigating.... I'll choose you." I then asked about the release form to sign and this man said to me he didn't have any papers for me to sign and that my cancellation papers were enough!!!!

My experience with Pacific Homeworks has been rather up and down. The installation was a complicated process. They did what they were suppose to do. I probably could've had the entire roof removed and replaced for less money. They convinced and told me it would look perfect and it does not. I have a chimney that's in the front of my house. They put on a gluey vulcan substance that is suppose to seal the nail holes. They put it on so thick and did such a terrible job that I several globs of this material. When I complained about it they dismissed me. They said that the area with the sealant is on the side and most people won't see it. There is also a hump in my roof and I'm not sure why that happened. They should have disclosed that this might be an issue to me while they were doing the project. That would have let the decision go into my hands. We are still in the process of remedying these issues.
Description of Work: Pacific Homeworks installed an overlay on an existing asphalt shingle and they felted the surface. They removed old shingles and installed new shingles and vent fans. They painted everything.

I know there are good reviews and experiences with this company. We just didn't feel comfortable proceeding with the work under pressure.
Description of Work: My husband and I started our search for replacement windows and sliding glass doors with Pacific Homeworks. The representative was right on time and very personable, however it seemed to turn into a high pressure situation toward the end. They gave us one price if we committed to the contract and paid 10% on the spot, and another price (higher) if we wanted to wait, which of course we did as we had just started our search. Not wanting to let the "best deal" go, we gave them a credit card and signed the work order. Three days later, we cancelled the job, and in order to cancel it, we were told a representative would have to come to the house again. We insisted that we would come to their office and cancel. At cancellation, we were told our 10% would be removed from our credit card within three business days. A month later, we had to call, as the charge was still there. Don't let window people tell you that all of them do business this way, with one price today and another price tomorrow. We ran into that same story with another nationally recognized brand, but ended up with windows from C&C Glass, where the price was the same today and tomorrow and next week and next month. Don't be pressured!

Slow getting the job started. It took them 45 days to start job. Salesman was very high pressure and misled buyer regarding "free" 30 workmanship and product warranty. Buyer was told to expect 90 delay before "big envelope" with warranty papers would come from GAF/ELK. Buyer had to pursue getting warranty and contractor has yet to provide 30/30 year warranty from manufacturer. Also, did not explain that NO underlayment (felt paper) would be installed. Used higher Los Angeles prices to pretend to give buyer 30% discount when price for work in San Diego area was about 10% above going rate. Although the workmanship of installers was satisfactory, this company engaged in deceptive practices as noted above. When work is completed this company becomes obdurate and will not reply to phone calls. Consumers should avoid this company as it will not fulfill their contractual obligations and will not return calls. Pacific Homeworks seems more motivated to obtain a binding contract than it is in providing the consumer with a beneficial service.
Description of Work: Re-roof existing roof. Existing roof is in fair condition at time work is performed.

Got hooked up with PH through a lead-generator going door to door through the neighborhood. Made an appointment for a few days later. Salesman showed up on time and began to talk about their new paint product, "CoolWall Super-Cote". After realizing that we were not ready to paint until after windows were replaced he started to sell me windows too. Salesman kept going on and on about how PH has a spotless reputation and after I did my research I would see how wonderful they really are. BTW, the sales guy had never heard of AngiesList. Now the quote... I have a 3000 sqft. exterior ( as measured by PH salesdude). He gave me a quote for $15990!! Mind you this was just to pressure wash my house one day, let it dry on the second, and come back and paint it with CoolWall Super-Cote the third day. This quote did NOT include windows. He then pulled the hard sell, "If you commit right now, I'll knock down the price to ~$13600. So let see how the numbers add up: I figured it would take a 3 person crew to both pressure wash my house in a single day and then paint it in a single day. (Probably only 2 guys to pressure wash but lets be generous). For a full 8 hours work each day, assuming $50 an hour per worker (great price for painting a house), that works out to $2400 for labor. Leaving a full $13590 for the paint. Assuming a gallon of paint covers a 4 foot by 8 foot area (32 sqft) my house would require ~ 100 gallons of paint. So they are in effect charging $135.90 per gallon for this magic paint. I will gladly repaint my house every 5 years with ordinary paint for the low-low cost of ~$5000.00. Every fairy tale needs a happy ending.... We received a call from PH the next day. After telling them how outrageous their quote was, the phone rep immediately stated that our quote had been,"reviewed by the sales manager and was found to be too high." PH would gladly send out a second salesperson to reassess the job and make a second quote. We indicated that we did NOT want to sit through another hour long sales pitch. Additionally, we asked that they remove us from their customer list. We have received at least 3 call since then and have let it go to voice mail every time. Of course, since PH runs the high-pressure sales pitch, they do not leave messages.
Description of Work: Received quote for exterior paint. Company was selling "CoolWall Super-Cote"
