MSJ Delivery Moving & Storage

Good price good work but need better management on schedule and written price agreement to avoid problems

Andy and Alex arrived at our storage room early and were there when we arrived. They went to work immediately, following our directions as to what was to be moved and what was to stay behind. This is the fifth time MSJ Delivery has been our go-to service for moving or even heavy lifting. As before, we were very pleased with the care and speed of the job. I am quite sure we will use them again.

Fernando, Andre, and Shawn moved our belongings from 2 storage rooms into a house. They were punctual, polite, professional, and hard-working. This was our 2nd MSJ move, so we expected great service - but that doesn't mean we appreciated it any less. Highly recommend!

The move couldn't have gone more smoothly with MSJ movers. Stu was very professional and up front about his estimate and costs at the initial meeting. On moving day, the movers were courteous, efficient, enthusiastic and very careful with our things. No task was too small to ask of them. Likewise, the next day, when we were unloading at the new house, they were extremely careful with our furniture, placing it wherever I asked them to and putting boxes quickly in the appropriate rooms. All of the men working for MSJ were so professional and accomodating. The final cost ended up being quite a bit less than the estimate which was an added plus! I would DEFINITELY use MSJ again and highly recommend them.

Feranando and Vance called 20 minutes before an on-time arrival. They were careful with unloading the furniture and getting it into the house without damage to the furniture or walls. The load in the truck was fairly small and they helped move some furniture within the house and to set up bedframes and beds. They were courteous, asked questions and were responsive to requests. The job was completed in an hour.

Fernando, Andre and Matt were punctual and professional. They arrived before the scheduled time and immediately started moving boxes. They were very efficient and were able to move a piano and several other large pieces of furniture quickly and carefully. I was skeptical about hiring movers because of past experiences, but I was very pleased with MSJ's service.

The two men and 1 large truck arrived exactly on time. They were ready to work with no time wasted. They were very polite and considerate. First they walked through the house to identify the items I wanted moved. I liked the way they planned things out so that the first things needed out were accessible and came out of the truck first. There were some big heavy items, for example my safe, and it seems like no big deal to them. I even asked them to make a stop on the way to drop off a refrigerator at my son's house, which they did cheerfully. Once they were at the final destination, things were carefully unloaded. They set up my beds so we could sleep that night and made sure the adjustomatic features worked fine. There was nothing broken, scratched or dented. The entire process was a positive experience and I highly recommend MSJ Delivery for moving your household items. I should mention that they had moving pads and tie downs so things were protected during transit.

Service went well, but it took a LOT longer than I expected. I already spent the week taking 4-5 boxes at a time over to the new house. I had all the items boxed up, but it still took longer, and cost more than I ever expected.

The entire team (Fernando, Andre, Spencer, Vance) was absolutely fantastic. On time, very polite, extremely careful with all of my belongings. I have a number of very heavy pieces of furniture, and they were able to move every single item. I was extremely happy with the service, and can highly recommend MSJ Delivery to anyone looking for a great, reliable moving company. Thanks for making this a great experience!

MSJ was very professional. They arrive on time, were courteous, as well as considerate of our house and belongings. I don't think one thing broke during the move! They were hard-workers, not wasting any time. I would highly recommend our team: Shawm, Alex, Andree and Nathan. The only short-coming was that the truck size that was recommended was not large enough so we had to make a second trip. Luckily, Shawn was willing to help us with that, which we greatly appreciated.

**Update to my original review below*** MSJ contacted me after I posted my original review and indicated that they wanted to make things right and refund me the money that I was charged for lunch. I received a check a few days later. I was impressed by their follow up and quick resolution. I would definitely use this company again for moving and recommend them. **************** Stu, the owner, came out and gave me an accurate estimate for how much it would cost and then also made recommendations to me on what we could pack ourselves in order to reduce the cost. We had to move the pack and ship dates at the last minute because escrow didn't close on time and they were able to accommodate us. The packers and movers they sent were professional, courteous and worked extremely hard to get the job done and done well. MSJ was not the least expensive option - I interviewed four companies before going with them. I chose MSJ because I felt that their quality and professionalism was worth it. I also felt the quote was honest and fair. I also liked working with a local company because I felt that if I had a problem, I had someone here I could talk to rather than trying to deal with a national or regional company. Should I ever need to move again, I would hire MSJ again. I would also refer them to friends. | |The only policy that I did not like was their requirement that the movers be paid for a half an hour lunch. This was explained to me as an industry practice so that may be the case and I didn't quibble. I am still unclear on why I needed to pay for the lunch though since they're not salaried. I offered to bring In lunch so they could eat more quickly but they declined. When I had moved in the past with the military on five occasions, we fed the movers lunch so this was surprising to me. However, the rest of the move was smooth and reasonable so this seems like a minor item which would not stop me from recommending or using MSJ in the future because the overall experience was so strong.

They were super friendly and punctual. However the overall move took three hours longer than expected, which I had not anticipated and their prices are very high. The workers were very professional and nice though.

The 3 men were on time, professional, and worked quickly. I was very satisfied with the move.

Shaun, Chris, and Matt were excellent. Arrived on time; very efficient; very careful with everything; very pleasant to work with.

We found MSJ Delivery through Angie's List. From our first call to the office, the receptionist was very responsive and accommodating. The next day, I spoke with Jodi and she setup all of the arrangements and followed up with confirmations by email and phone. We were notified in advance who would be the supervisor of our move. On the day of the move, Shawn, the supervisor of the move, called and let me know that they were on their way to our place. They showed up (Shawn, Chris and Nathan) on time, and were very friendly and got right to work. The guys were very accommodating and willing to do whatever extra we needed as the day went along. Our move took longer than we had planned, but they never complained. The only break that they took was for lunch, but only while driving to the other house. I knew we had picked a good company when we had a final walk-thru of common area with HOA. There was some small damage to the wall that happened during the move. I contacted Jodi at MSJ Delivery and sent her a picture of the damage. She immediately responded and assured us that they would be responsible for any damage caused by the workers, and to forward any information that we get from the HOA regarding the damage. I was so impressed with the way they handled this that I have recommended our family to use them in the next few weeks when they are moving. It is great to see companies that are trying to do things right succeed.

Last month MSJ sent Alex, Jan, and Byron to move me from one house to another. I had already packed everything that I could in boxes, and relied on them to basically do all the heavy lifting; moving the boxes, furniture, and larger fragile items. I was incredibly happy with the service and would both use them again and reccomend them to anyone I know moving in the future. I had originally intended to have some friends and coworkers help me do all the heavy lifting, but once I saw the stairs up to the third story and how complicated it would be, I called in professionals. Everything was delivered in perfect shape and without a scratch. Assembled items were taken apart to be removed from the home I was leaving, and reassembled once they arrived at the new place. The move took a little longer than expected because of the complexity of the tiny stair case provided to bring everything up, so Alex would constantly provide me with opportunities that I could take to cut the costs. He offered to just not put things together so that I could do them myself, minimizing the time they were there, and thus reducing the overall cost. I went ahead and had them put all the stuff together, but I was just surprised by the fact that he was giving such opportunities. You rarely find a business anymore these days that are actually trying to save YOU money. I am very thankful for the service from MSJ, and will use them again for my next move. Thanks again, guys! I called and talked with Tina about a 299 deal they had posted, she was very nice. She gave me reasonable quote over the phone and explained to me how the price may go up or down depending on how close everything is dropped to my house, how it is packed in the pod and how far my mother's home is to me. Rich or Ray called me when they were on the way and they got started as soon as I opened the pods. They were done faster than expected. My mom said they were nice and did a good job.

MSJ Delivery was recommended by the place I purchased my cabinets from. Jodi gave me a reasonable quote over the phone and setup an appointment. Tina called me the day before my delivery to remind me of all the details (which is nice when you are a working mom). The guys (I think Jason or George - sorry) called me about 30 minutes before they were picking up my pieces and again when they were on the way to my home. The guys were nice to me and even gave my young boy something to carry in since he was so incessant about helping the guys.

I called Stu after seeing one of his trucks at a neighbors home, just to inquire about his services. Stu quickly came out to my home and met with my girlfriend to see everything in person. He called me and even skyped with me to show me some concerns he had since I was out of town. I am very happy. Everything I noted that was important went into storage and is currently in my home looking as nice as it was before storage. Ive had bad experiances storing furniture before and have noticed it normally comes back looking worse than it did going in. Stu arranged and helped me sell several items. I purchased a giant armoire, MSJ tried to deliver it but it would not fit in the elevator or the stairwell. They found a crane company and hoisted it up to my balcony. AMAZING!!! thankfully I wasnt there to see it happen or I may have had a coronary. They got it done and placed it in my room of choice and it looks great. I promised them I would write a great review about them and if I had the Angieslist acct earlier I would have written 5 more reviews. I will continue to use them and recommend them for all moving, delivery, and storage needs. The crews were on time all 6 times they booked an appointment, had uniforms, were polite and worked their butts off. Thank you.

Moved couch and few other items from Carmel valley home to UTC condo

Fernando and Matt were on time, polite, efficient and friendly. They were mindful to ask where to place the boxes and furniture and asked if I wanted them to relocate items, etc. They were quick but careful with moving, and I was pleasantly surprised how fast they accomplished the move!

They originally quoted us $300, but we ended up paying $1000! Also they messed up some of our furniture and didnt even put or bed together properly. They hussled within the first hour of working but then after that they seemed to really drag their feet to drag the time out, so they made more money. There was 3 guys working, and it took them 7 hours, even though they had estimated 3 hours originally. When I called this to their attention, they tried to blame the elevator being slow! They had no hussle at all.

Moved my belongings from storage 100 miles away. They were on time, moved quickly and were professional. This was my first time using movers and I was pleased with the service. I will be using them again for another small upcoming move I have.

Had a great experience with these guys, they were quick and efficient yet very careful with our items.

Andy, Miles, Matt and Byron were professional in dress and demeanor. They were fast, organized, polite and I would highly recommend them. I would definitely use them again!
