Terry gave us an extimate of $6360 and the actual cost came in at $6218. He arrived early (before 7 am) every morning for the four days of the job and worked until 6 pm without stopping. The quality of the work was excellent in terms of materials and workmanship. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

I was extremely pleased. For forming a pouring concrete Terry does all of the work himself. He is the most energetic and hard working person you may ever meet. He'll show up early in the morning and work until late if needed and he goes 100% the whole time. For excavations he calls on Mike Hawke who has machinery and a truck. Mike works the machines and Terry works the shovel and they work very well together. They're both super professional and a joy to work with. Terry listened very closely to whatever questions or concerns I ever had and he remembered every small detail I requested. He keeps a very well organized job site, works methodically and quickly, and thoroughly cleans up at the end of the day. His quoted price was the least among others I got bids from yet I'm quite sure his quality surpassed what I would have received from those others. We ended up going a bit over his quote but only because we practically doubled the scope of work after receiving the quote. We arranged time and materials payment and I payed him and Mike with a check each day. He showed me any receipts without me asking and didn't mark anything up. Everything was very straighforward and honest. The end result of his efforts were superb and we couldn't be more pleased. I'd recommend him to anyone else in a heartbeat.

I left a message for Terry to receive an estimate, he called me back immediately and scheduled a time for the following day to come to our property and discuss the work that needed to be done. Terry stopped by the property earlier in the day, when I was not home, so when we met at the appointment time he already had an estimate ready, which was really nice because I was excited to have the wall done, wanted the job to start quickly and really appreciated how quickly Terry moved. Terry was very friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and explained in detail the steps of the job, what the costs would be, both for materials and his labor. Terry seperated the cost of materials, and his labor cost. The way he wrote everything down and explained it to me was excellent. He explained that I would pay for materials directly, that he over-estimated slightly on how much the materials would cost, that way there was no suprise or cost inflation, and his labor cost would never change. I had two other estimates by other companies, Terry was the third company I called, and when I asked how much materials would cost, the other companies said not to worry that the cost of materials was included in their estimate and refused to break down the cost like Terry did. The other companies were 3 times as expensive as Terry. We hired Terry, and he began the work the following week. Paying for materials directly was a breeze, Terry gave me the phone number to call, the name of the person to talk to and they took my information over the phone, were professional and friendly and knew Terry, told me they worked with him all the time, what a great guy he is and what a great job I would get. Terry had the entire wall built in two days, in my entire life I have never seen a man work so hard. His work ethic is impeccable! Not only will Terry work from morning till night to get the job done, he does not skip corners, after putting the cement in between blocks, he has a trash can full of water and a giant sponge and cleans the lines to ensure that when the stucco is done you can't see the concrete bumps and to help make the job for the next person easier. Terry pays attention to detail, gives his professional opinion to help ensure you are happy with the job performed, he listens to his clients and is so pleasant to be around. I really feel words can't do Terry justice, he does such quality work and he works so hard, enjoys the work he does, and cares about people, it truely was the best professional experience I have ever had. Hard working men like Terry are hard find, it is like he comes from a different era. Since there was a lot of dirt that needed to be hauled away I also hired Terry and his friend to take the dirt and rocks away, he gave me a good price and throughout the entire process, the dirt removal, the wall being built, the concrete trucks coming, Terry cleaned up everything, and left my property in better condition than he found it in. I would highly recommend hiring Terry for any masonry and concrete project, the next project my husband and I have is to install a driveway, there is no doubt that we will be calling Terry to do the work. It has been a couple months since the wall was built and we get compliments on it daily from neighbors, delivery men, the mail man, and even random people walking down our block. I have told my family and friends about Terry, he is one of a kind and I am so thankful that I was lucky enough to find someone that works so hard, does not take advantage of people, loves his work, and is such a nice, honest person. The wall is solid, strong, concrete filled, and looks amazing. We can't thank you enough Terry!

I contacted Terry at Midnight Masons by email through Angie's list. He contacted me the next day and came out to see what I needed and gave me an estimate. I had one section of the brick front porch that was slightly misaligned. In addition, one of the mortar was missing due to water, etc., over the 70 year life of the porch. I also needed some mortar repair in the backyard where the chimney meets the house. Terry agreed to do everything for $150. He arrived on time, completed the work in a timely manner and acted professionally. He did a great job and I appreciate the quick response and the good work.

Don't bother to look further; hire Terry and get a job you will be proud of. Terry and crew constructed my colored concrete driveway (102 ft x 12 ft x 5 inches thick with #3 rebar, class 2 road base) in 3 working days. This job was fantastic, problem free and Terry saw to every detail and consulted me on every option. I will hire Terry again.

It went very well. Terry answer very promptly to our inquire, he made an appointment to look at the property and estimate the work to be done. He came on time and spend a lot of time looking at the property, measuring, and discussing with us what we wanted and what it was possible to do. He came back when he said he would and gave us an estimate for all the work and how long it would take to do it. He explains to us clearly the work he was going to do, the kind of cement he was going to use, and he had very good suggestions to make the finished work better, i.e., the width of the walkways, how to fix the back steps, how to join the new cement with the old one, etc. We wanted to have the cement colored, but he suggested not to do it because the type of soil we have might not let the color dry evenly. He had another person helped with the removing of the soil, but actually he did most of the work himself. They removed many truck loads of soil. We really appreciated all the good suggestions he had which we had not thought about it. In the course of the work, he broke a piece of an old retaining wall, but he fixed promptly and he added more retaining wall fixing the one someone else had done which was kind of sloppy. He worked very hard and many hours; he finished the work exactly on time and he charged exactly what he said he would. We were very pleased by his work. He is a very approachable person, very friendly and very dedicated. You'll enjoy working for him. Actually, we were trying to think of what else he could do, so that he would stay longer.

Received the quote in a timely manner. During the discussions, Terry Theil indicated that he did not do some of the work I needed accomplished. When the work was quoted it was within expectations; however, material was not included in his cost making it confusing when determining the bottom line cost. No written quote was provided and all information occurred during a phone conversation. Since a bottom line price was not provided it was very hard to make a comparison with other contractors. Terry's demeanor was professional and I felt, based on the discussions we had, that he was knowledgeable.

Terry did a great job, in a timely manner, cleaned up well and was very professional in his communications and the final cost was just a bit under his initial quote. Excellent !! No nonsense, good job. For me this is how it worked : Terry provided a total quote and explained he would be doing most of the work himself; that he expected me to pay materials directly to the suppliers and explained their costs. He also needed a bob cat and two extra concrete finishers, his price included all of these but he asked that I pay these individual services directly. This arrangement worked well for me and indicated to me total transparency on pricing. All very clear and up front. Terry arrived each day bang on time as promised, usually setting up around 5:30am (quietly); he set about his work quickly and efficiently. He arranged all the bobcat work, finishers and delivery of concrete and pumps and materials arrived bang on schedule just moments after 7:00am sharp. Terry worked very hard and quickly and was flexible enough to adjust to a couple of last moment changes from me. Overall : I am very satisfied with his work and his price was very competitive. Terry is an honest individual and works very hard. I have no hesitation in awarding 'A' in all areas and recommending him to friends and Angies list.

Terry, the owner, contacted me immediately about giving me an estimate. Terry was prompt, gave me an accurate estimate and answered all of my questions with both knowledge and patience. He was there during the entire job. He's a perfectionist and a really nice person as well. My front yard, which was formerly a mess, now looks beautiful. I've just hired him again to do some work in my backyard.

Terry did an excellent job, pricing was upfront, and correctly estimated. I paid for the concrete directly and paid Terry for his labor and purchase of rebar sepratley. I saw the rebar put in before concrete was poared and it was put into a correct latice stucture and drilled into the adjoining wall and driveway just like my structural engineer sister in law recomended. The finish was excellent and Terry sloped the slab such that water is directed away from the house foundation. Will use again for all future masonary work.

If you'd like the same person to do your work as who you spoke to about the job and who gave the estimate, then Terry is your guy! Very motivated and hard-working. Does good work and job came out as expected. Reasonable prices. He works a long day and completes quickly. Everything is itemized. Be sure clean-up to leave property as he found it is included. On our job he ran out of space in dumpster and we were left w/some excess dirt and concrete.

I saw his ratings on Angie's list. That's what made me pick him, and the project went very well. He was really good on all fronts, and was extremely prompt.

Terry works alone and is extremely conscious of the fact that he is responsible for the quality of the work performed and the impression made on clients. He arrived promptly to give us an estimate for the work to be done and made suggestions to improve on our concept. We chose Terry for the job based on his obvious expertise and the fair price that he charged. The weather necessitated some delays but Terry kept us informed of his plans and completed the work as soon as the weather permitted. He was always willing to answer questions and very pleasant at all times. The job looks great and the clean up was excellent-we find that unusual and wonderful. We have spoken to Terry about another project in the Spring and highly recommend him to anyone needing his services.

This was a seamless job. Terry knew exactly what I wanted when I described the work to be done. When he came out to bid the job he gave me some suggestions that I had not even considered. I took his advice and was glad I did. The job was completed in a very timely fashion. The craftsmanship on the wall is over the top. I have not seen this high quality of work in a long time. Terry is a gentle soul that takes pride in his work. He is a hard worker; very meticulous in everything from laying out his tools to the clean up during the project. I will use him again and have recommended him to my family.

I really liked the guy who did the work. He did a very good job and it was definitely worth the money that I paid. He was very cooperative and he came out twice since there was a lot of work for relatively less money. I am going to use his services again in a couple of weeks to build a patio for me.

They worked very quickly, they started early, and they showed up when they were supposed to. The job only took a couple of days and I was impressed with the speed. The overall job was good.

Terry returned my call the day I called and came out that same day for an estimate. He started and completed the work the following same day. He was very prompt and the outcome was very satisfactory.

Terry was very professional and helpful, taking time to explain different stregths of concrete and what he was using. He kept in constant communication via phone, so we never wondered about anything.

Terry came out on a Saturday to give an estimate, and we planned to start the following Wednesday. Unfortunately due to weather, he wasn't able to start until the next Monday, but he kept me informed the whole time. Once the project was underway, it was only a couple days from start to finish. Terry was on the job from dawn to dusk and then some. He was very thorough in explaining what I needed to have done before he showed up on-site and was very accommodating of minor adjustments as the project went forward maintaining communication throughout the entire project. There were some unforeseen problems that came up which increased the cost above the original estimate, but again Terry explained things very clearly. Terry is an uncompromising perfectionist which is the hallmark of a top-notch craftsman!

He did an excellent job! The prices were very competitive. The quality was an "A", however he didn't follow my verbal instructions and expectations. When I complained he said he could take it all down and re-do it, but I didn't have him do that. He is a one man crew, so he is better for small jobs, but you save the expense of him having to pay anyone else. You have to make sure that you put your requirements in writing. He was very responsive. I would absolutely use him again in the future.
