Wallpaper was torn in one room but was discussed up front that it might be a problem. Chris offset by not charging for some of the closet work. He also removed 4 old room intercom speakers, patched and finished for $40 each but then waived the charge. Overall, work & clean up was excellent. Workers were courteous & caring.
Description of Work: Removed acoustical ceiling from 7 rooms, a hallway & several closets & re-textured. Dining room ceiling was vaulted so scaffolding required which made job more difficult. Job included removing heavy furniture & replacing.

Chris came to estimate the job the day after I called him. He was punctual and professional. The work was done the following week by Jesse and Mike. They came promptly at 8 a.m. as promised, and Chris appeared both at the beginning and at the end of the job to make sure that everything went according to plan. The team covered areas with plastic to keep the plaster and dust contained. After completing the job, they did a good job of cleaning up.
Description of Work: Plaster along two walls below ground level was cracked and crumbling. Level 5 dug out the cracked areas and installed green board to help prevent any moisture from seeping in. They also repaired a crack in the ceiling. As we agreed, they did not paint the walls after completing the job.

These guys gave a competitive estimate and stuck to it even though the job (removing acoustic "popcorn" ceiling texture and plastering over the drywall underneath) took longer than expected because they discovered a double layer of it, one painted over. The workmen worked very hard all day and were very very nice. They came on time at 8 am and left about 5 pm. No lunch break. That's about 18 hours of labor between the two of them, and they only charged us $1,000. They also did a little extra decorative work around the attic trapdoor for only $50 which looks great. They left everything spotless.

These folks performed first-rate, exceptional work. They were punctual, courteous, and quite competent. The work is extremely messy by nature, and yet their clean-up each day was meticulous. The workers went from early morning to late afternoon, rarely stopping. They took care with my personal items, and were patient with my various questions. There was one scratch on a piece of furniture, for which owner Chris McDole adjusted the final price, saying "whatever makes you happy". This could be their motto.
Description of Work: In two days, they removed acoustical ceilings from my 2100 sq ft home and replaced with plaster.

They did a fabulous job! The team leader was a woman whose name I have forgotten. She was very professional and so were the others working with her. They did a great job with the texturized walls and cleaned up the job site beautifully. Another drywall person recommended by a friend probably would have been cheaper but was not going to be licensed or bonded and would have done the job by himself, in the evenings, after his day job. Sounded like a hassle and too risky to us. Level 5 is licensed and bonded. They were worth every cent they charged. It is not easy to match the texture of the existing walls and a poor job would have shown through our new paint.
Description of Work: Level 5 completed drywall repairs related to a larger redecorating project. We had electrical work done which left us with about 25 holes in our living/dining room area. We also had tile removed from our kitchen backsplash area and from around our fireplace. There was also an area below our new granite bar that needed repair. The ceilings in my living/dining room are 18 feet from the floor, so scaffolding was needed to reach the ceiling and upper walls. All my walls have texture which had to be sprayed on.

Dawnika, Mike and Jesse arrived approximately 8am. They completely covered my walls and floors with plastic sheets for preparation as not to ruin anything. They completely took down all the "popcorn" on the ceilings, prepared it smooth for the final spray and then spayed the texture on the sheetrock. I called Chris on short notice to have this job done and what a pleasure it was to have these folks come and complete the entire job by 3:30pm. IF YOU WANT IT DONE RIGHT AND DONE ON TIME, THESE ARE THE PEOPLE TO CALL!! Oh, they also sprayed texture on my kitchen ceiling which is being remodeled. GREAT JOB!!

Chris was here and gone in record time. Drywall was installed perfectly. He did little of the work, but he observed the workers the majority of the time. He was quick to tell them when something was not exactly right. Initially I had asked Chris to replace the bottom two feet of damaged drywall but he suggested we take down all the drywall and replace it in full. The day he came to do the the job I told him I'd prefer to start with just the bottom two feet. He was able to change out the bottom two feet as I initially requested. There is no obvious variation between the old and the new drywall. We had a painter come in and paint and it looks beautiful.

Superb. On time with two people including owner. Took about three days due to drying time between putty coats. I wanted a lace finish on the ceiling and skip trowel on the walls. Superb, fantastic, beautiful job.
Description of Work: (Dec 2007) 3 bedrooms, each about 12 X 12, each with closets (gutted to drywall). One bedroom had lower half of one wall to be drywalled. Job was to place the drywall in the one room half wall and also to texture the rooms completely since the walls had previously been painted an awful color and was semi-gloss. So each room (all four walls, closet AND ceiling) has two putty coats and texturing coats. Closets had been gutted so corner beading was also required on all closet openings, and some misc drywall repair.

Description of Work: I got a drywall quote from Level 5. The estimate was $350, about $100 higher than their closest competitor. When I informed Level 5 of that, they dropped their price immediately to $250. I believe in fair estimates. ($350)

We hadn't seen a quote on Angie's List for such a large drywall job, so we weren't sure what to expect. Chris was prompt and gave a reasonable estimate. He was understanding about work changes as new defects were found during the work. He gave us a reasonable bid for additional payment for the add-ons. His team did this work during a record hot spell & never complained. It took a few days longer than originally estimated, but not unexpected due to the additional work and somewhat more time being required for the multiple high slanted ceilings. He kept us apprised of the schedule changes. Dannika deserves special mention for her superb retexturing of ceilings. She is truly an artist. We had a few special requests about protecting subflooring which were fully observed after we mentioned them the first day. Cleanup was superb, considering the size of the job, a few minor areas of overspray. Chris stated that if something was missed he'd be happy to return. He's honest & reliable!
Description of Work: Removed non-asbestos popcorn ceilings from a 3000 sq. ft. house and garage (part of which was 2 story with high ceilings requiring scaffolding), repaired and retextured ceilings, replaced a total of approx 75 sq. ft. of drywall gaps at a variety of locations caused by mold remediation repairs. Surround sound speaker installation and wire run holes were repaired. One hundreds of wall holes from screws to attach shelving, devices, and pictures were repaired. Three long lengths of corners where the bead was not attached well were repaired. Two remodeled closets were given drywall repairs and retexturing. Ceiling edges were recaulked. A medium size room and many multi sq. ft. areas of walls were resprayed for texture matches. Whew!

I left a message after hours for Level 5, asking them to please contact me between 8 and 10 a.m the following day. At 8 a.m, my telephone rang- I was so impressed by the friendliness and professionalism of the person on the line. They were booked for days, but agreed to come in extra early to do the work... over a holiday weekend!, for the exact same price they would charge on any other day! They arrived exactly on time, did the work beautifully (and quickly) and cleaned up so well I would never have known they had been there (except the hole in the ceiling was gone :o). I would recommend them to anyone needing their service.

I had to pay for so many things, and had been shocked at the prices, it was a pleasant surprise to have someone willing to help. Chris was very quick in responding to our call and coming out to estimate the work, and since I was anxious to get the house back in order, he squeezed us in at the end of the week. The workers did a nice job of covering up the floor around the work area, but the work itself is the best part. You can't even see where the hole was! They are real artisans!

The company performed the exterior stucco work only after the owner cautioned me that stucco was not their specialty and the finished surface might not match with the surrounding area. He was correct -- the finished surface is only a fair match, but I can't really complain because he did warn me that could happen. The interior drywall work is a very different story. Here is my advice to prospective customers: If your drywall is painted white -- the same color as the surface texturing compound -- then before the work is done, make a note to yourself of where the holes are. Because after this crew is finished, YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO FIND THEM. Simply amazing.

I called and left a message for Level 5 for an estimate. Chris McDole responded soon after and was able to set up an appointment around my schedule. He arrived on time and went through the house very efficiently to determine his estimate. He gave me a ballpark figure before he left and then sent me a final estimate a day or two later. The price was similar to other estimates that I had received but Chris' knowledge swayed me and I contracted them to do the work. He was very accommodating and was able to work around my schedule. The work they did was very professional and looked good. I would definitely recommend them and use them in the future. One note is that they do NOT do painting. This wasn't an issue with me.
