Letz Design Landscape

Very professional, listened to our ideas, offered us creative ideas we hadn't thought of. Plans were ready quickly and he kept us informed as they progressed. Made a few phone calls for design estimates before calling Steve and his final price was cheaper than what I was being quoted by other companies.

He was very professional. He came up with a plan and encouraged my input which I felt was very important. He spent time on the lot looking at the property and since he lives nearby he was able to recommend plans based on his own knowledge of the environement. He came up with 2-3 possibilites and narrowed it down to one with some modifications. When we agreed on the final design he had a recommended list of contractors and so I began calling and asking for bids. Two of the three I called came out with a bid. I chose, in the end, the same contractor he had recommended. I checked with someone else who had their yard designed, too, and his price was within reason. I would use him again and I've aleady recommended him to someone else.

Steve was perfect for us. He was never pushy or judgmental. He listened carefully to our ideas and he included them in the plan or improved on them for which we were grateful. Sometimes I found that I liked a specific plant and yet it would not work well with the soil or watering requirements of the rest of the area. He was professional, always on time, and always followed up on issues we discussed. Steve was so knowledgeable and artistic in his designs. While we have not yet begun the actual work, I fully intend to continue working with him for resources and quotes when the time is right for us.

He did a great job, but when we were real with ourselves, we realized that we needed a smaller version of what we had. He came out and pared it down and didn't seem to have a problem with it. I didn't collect bids or anything, but I was comfortable with him so we went with him for our landscaping. He was within the price range that we expected and he seemed comparable for the square footage that we have. In a couple of months, we'll probably have him back to look at our front yard to hear what he thinks we should keep and what we could get rid of.

The employees from Letz were excellent. They did such a great job. Their prices were reasonable. They were very responsive and punctual. I thought they were well mannered and very professional. I would use them again.

Steve was responsive and worked very quickly. He listened to what we wanted and applied it to a beautiful landscape design. I immediately recommended him to one of my neighbors who has also hired him to redesign her front yard.

Mr. Letz was extremely professional and helpful. He had excellent ideas and was responsive to our budget concerns. He showed up on time for the estimate and did not present any high pressure sales attitude. We ultimatly decided to re-prioritize the other projects that demand our limited resource and did not pursue landscape at this time. When the time is right, we will call Letz Design to do the design work for us.

We had three goals. First, remove a 2000 gallon concrete Koi pond. Second, remove grass in front and back yards, and replace with more drought tolerant plants. Third, replace Koi pond with a smaller water feature. Steve's design included a new smaller water feature adjacent to a new round patio and dry river bed. This new patio is accessed via new walking paths from existing patio locations. His design included an array of drought tolerant plants as well as ground covers.

The final design of my front yard could not have been any MORE beautiful without Steve's professional design and assistance. My focus was to remove my entire front yard. Replace with xerioscape landscaping, boulders included and drip systems. On our initial phone call, Steve was professional, gathered what our focus was and met with us on the date and time promised. He brought out ideas and pictures he had and we were very confident in hiring him. He took measurements and photos of our front yard and later met with us with the final color coded design layout as well as three copies. I was impressed with the design... complete with a plant listing I later took to the nursery for plant purchase. He provided a list of recommended contractors to complete the excavation, drip systems, plant purchase, placement and planting, however, being a past project manager I knew I could save some money and take personal reward in completing the project on my own terms. I hired an excavator to remove my lawn (completed in four hours), hired my long termed gardener to dig and place the drip system. I took Steve's plant listing, complete with the quantity to Miramar nursery and ordered the plants and had them delivered. Using Steve's colored coded landscaping design, my gardeners and I placed the plants, Steve came out to "give his blessing" and the gardeners planted all the plants, Steve and I also added rock boulders and a 3-granite column fountain, so I went to KRC Rock, along with Steve's recommended color boulder type and picked the boulders and fountain columns I liked and had them delivered and placed. I'm extremely proud of my front yard design and only have Steve to thank for providing the master design drawing. All the neighbors drive slow past our home just to take in the results. The across-the-street neighbor was so impressed with Steve's professionalism and his color-coded drawing he hired him to design his front and back yards I would rehire him for future projects and will definitely recommend him to others.

(See above). We could not have done this without him. He was very patient and professional when we asked for alternatives to what he had recommended. His service was worth every penny. We were a little hesitant to pay for just a design, but after seeing what Stephen brought to the project I would not have wanted to try this without his help.

Steve exceeded all expectations. Knowledgeable, creative, informative and a delight to work with! He came to our first meeting with a portfolio of his many diverse past projects, asked lots of questions to better understand our needs and desires. Our exceptional landscape plan clearly showed he listened well.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone. He was way above average. There were many challenges with our yard and he surprised us with his solutions. I can't rate him highly enough. It was an incredible experience. At this time it seems that he specializes in drought resistant landscapes.

We met with him once for about 45 minutes so he could get an idea for what we wanted. We got back together and he presented us 2 designs and we gave him feed back via e-mail and then he came back a third time with a final draft for us. We were extremely satisfied and he was very professional and personable. We were impressed with how creative he was to deal with our oddly shaped property.

My experience with them was more mixed. He was very professional and very knowledgeable. The main problem that occurred was that the plan was five times what I could afford. It was partially my part for not telling him my budget. His price was clear from the beginning but the plan he developed generating bids out of my budget. So I needed a simpler plan and he didn't totally brush me off. He said the best thing for me to do was to pick a company and have them scale down the plan with something that would work for me.

I met with Steve three times. The first time we discussed our ideas for the new landscape and Steve made many suggestions. The second time Steve came out, he showed us two different plans that he thought we might like. We chose a plan and discussed any refinements to the plan. Later, Steve came out again with a final plan.

He was professional and courteous and completed the designs in a very timely manner. His plans address all of our concerns and desires for the use of our backyard.

GREAT! Steve promptly answered our phone message, came out, looked at the area, discussed our wants, and came back two days later with a complete design that had recommended plants as well as placement. We are very happy with the final results. There were two minor problems. All of the plants were not readily available and some of the plants were placed too close together (following his plans). I would not hesitate to use him again or to recommend him. He was prompt, courteous, professional, and reasonable.

I was also satisfied with the price because he ended up knocking a little of the price off, because it ended up being easier than he thought.
