King Sweep

I chose this place from Angie's List. I was in a hurry to get a much-needed carpet cleaning before my family arrived for an extended stay. The carpet was pretty bad and I didn't want my grandchildren (under 3) having the dirt rub off onto them. Unfortunately, I called 1 week before their arrival and Frank's wife Brenda told me they would not be able to get in for at least 2 weeks. This is a mom/pop shop, and they have been overwhelmed since Angie's List referrals! Brenda told me that Frank had tried expanding the business by taking on partners, but he found their quality extremely variable and unacceptable, so he went back to doing it all by himself. Since I knew the family was coming for over a month, I feel the scheduling issue was a direct result of my procrastination. I felt bad enough for the family that I rented a steamer and hit the worst spots, but I still wanted to get a good commercial cleaning -- and I wanted to stay with King Sweep due to the quality references they were given on The List. So I scheduled Frank for the Saturday after my family left. That Wednesday, Brenda called to confirm the appointment and see if I had retained another company instead. I explained what I had done and that I still wanted Frank to do the cleaning job. We talked a bit (she's really pleasant) and I decided to give Frank the Saturday off, rescheduling a week and a half later for Wednesday at 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM. Promptly at 12:30 on Wednesday May 14th 2008, Frank and his son Zack arrived at my condominium. They scoped the job and Frank gave me a price quote within $20-$30 dollars of the estimate I'd received over the phone from Brenda (biggest difference was a small up-tick for the furniture moves). They set up their equipment and hoses, being careful to protect my wall corners as they went. Then they began upstairs (master bedroom), working their way down the stairs, moving furniture and beds as they went, cleaning, putting the furniture back on either foam blocks or foil, then cleaning the centers and traffic areas. Total job time (counting my incessant talking) was about 4 hours. They cleaned up as they retreated out the front door, leaving nothing but clean carpet in their tracks. After 15 minutes of outside equipment cleanup, they departed. Fantastic service!! Considering the age and condition of the carpet, I was not expecting a lot of improvement. Especially since I'd cleaned it a bit myself. But I could see the carpet (a gray-white, 9 year old, berber - never before cleaned commercially) clean up before my very eyes! The cleaning appeared fairly uniform (carpet is still a bit wet as I write this), with only a very slight hint of traffic remaining near the front door. Frank was very careful not to let the high-pressure damage paint and woodwork. I am very pleased and would highly recommend them and use them again myself.

He was on time and worked efficiently. He works by himself and moved and replaced the furniture. I am very pleased with the look of my carpets.

Frank arrived at the scheduled time and gave me the cost before starting the work. I had gotten a preliminary estimate range over the phone when I made the appointment and his price was within that range. The carpet was very dirty and he got it very clean without getting it soaked.

Frank arrived on time, spent a day cleaning my carpets, and moved all furniture except beds/bookcases. Was very detailed. My carpet looks better than it did when it was brand new. You need to schedule your appointment in advance, but he is worth waiting for.

I got King Sweeps name from Angie's List magazine. I went on line and read the glowing reviews and called for an appointment. We set up 2/14/08 at 9:30 for the job. He called ahead because it was raining where he lived and wanted to know if I'd like to cancel. I said it was fine out where I live and he came. It started pouring down as soon as he arrived but he said it was NO problem for him and proceeded to see rooms. He quoted me $85.00 and started working. He stopped a couple of times to have me check to be sure I was satisfied. I was so happy with him and his work that I tipped him $15.00. I felt I should have tipped him more! I plan on having extensive work done in my kitchen shortly and will have him do the rest of the house when that is complete. He advises putting down fans to circulate the air to help in drying the carpets faster. Frank cleaned up everything and even with the rain and all, there were no "tracking of water" problems. Hire him....you won't be sorry.

Frank arrived as scheduled and proved to be a very friendly and pleasant chap. He assessed the extent of the job and offered a surprisingly low price bid. He proceeded to clean all the carpets after moving necessary furniture by himself. We agreed that large furniture items need not be moved. I was completely pleased with the results, as the carpets, which I had thought were not too dirty, looked far better and completely clean when he had finished. I was so pleased with the result that I paid $135, rather than the $90 charged, as I felt the fee was too low for the quality of the work and therefore gave a generous tip.

Excellent! Wow this guy was amazing! We have three dogs, two cats and white carpeting! Yikes! From start to finish this was by far the best experience we've ever had from a carpet cleaner. Frank is this totally friendly and authentic San Diego native who is out to do whatever the customer whats and needs. We have a 3100 square foot home. He is very meticulous and gives you an estimate before he starts. His prices are the best in the business! You will not be disappointed with his service! I am going to use him to clean our carpets every three months. I have tried many, many of the big carpet guys who claim their way is the best and some of the smaller guys that turn out to be flakes. Frank is the owner and does all of the work. He offers great service at a amazing price. Try him and you'll become a loyal return customer like myself.

Mr. Prantil did a wonderful job on a two year old carpet that was getting a lot of wear in the main traffic areas. He was very knowledgeable and clearly proud of his work. Job was done in about an hour and the carpet looks new. We moved some furniture out of his way, but he put our two couches on small blocks in order to move them around. He uses very good equipment because the carpet was not that wet when he was finished; we used a few fans to speed up the drying time. Carpet was fully dry in about 2-3 hours. Will never use anyone else to clean our carpets!

Frank was great. He's very knowledgeable and personable and spent 4 1/2 hrs at my home and did a very thorough job and explained everything and answered all my questions.

I called Frank's business and made an appt. for him to come out and clean the carpets. I told the person that answered the phone - turned out to be his wife - how pleased I was several years ago. She was pleasant and we made the appointment for the next week. When Frank arrived - on time - he walked through the house and compared what he would be doing with what he did before. I was impressed that he had the past information with him. When he cleaned before the house was empty of furniture; this time it was full. After he made his estimate, the difference was approximately $19 more than three years ago. Amazing! He did a fantastic job - had me check each room as he completed it. He even managed to remove the adhesive strips that attached themselves to the carpet where the runner had been. He stayed until it became dark - and although the carpets were wet for several days, the job was beyond our expectations.

Excellent. I was lucky enough at this time of year to get a last-minute appointment. Frank was on time (called in advance), gave me a very reasonable estimate and got right to work. Obvious pride in his work. Asked me several times to check on his work - exceptionally conscientious. Highly recommended. I wish all folks were this good.

Frank was able to come the day after I phoned for an appointment. He arrived promptly at the agreed time. Most furniture in the living room was moved for cleaning and put back in place on foil or foam blocks. The traffic areas of the bedroom were cleaned as was the entire hallway. Frank uses steaming equipment with an extra-powerful vacuum. He is serious about wanting to do the best possible carpet cleaning job and making sure the customer is fully satisfied for a very reasonable price.

Would recommend him to anyone. Will definitely use him again.

Mr. Prantil arrived at the appointed time. He took a look at the areas to be cleaned and gave me a price which I agreed to before he started. Then he went to work and did a marvelous job. I am impressed with his work ethic and with the results of his cleaning- my carpet looks great. He takes pride in his work and I would hire him again.

Frank came on time and cleaned my stairs and the carpet in two rooms. He also took 2 rugs for cleaning at home. He listened carefully to my description of the stains and thoughtfully told me which stains would come out and which cleaning method each required. He cleaned all of the carpets well and charged me a good price for the work. He did not clean my oriental carpets because he did not feel equipped to handle them. I appreciated his honesty and the fact that he only did work that he is well-equipped to do.

He could have cleaned the carpets the same week that I called if my schedule had allowed it. Frank wanted to be sure that I was satisfied with the job he did before left. I got more than my money's worth.

I was impressed immediately when, despite being very busy, Frank managed to "fit us in" within 2 days so my carpets would be clean for my house guests. With other companies, I was asked to move all my furniture and I was left with a soaking wet carpet for days (one company even left blue soap spots all over) and the return of spots and stains within a few days of walking on the carpet. So, I was hoping this guy knew what he was doing! He did the absolute best job. He told me not to move anything; he raised and/or moved furniture if needed. Our carpets looked great and I have not experienced the "reappearance" of those spot and stains that tend to come back right back. Best of all, our carpets were actually dry in a few hours as promised! Frank said this is because he uses really powerful suction unit to draw the water back out of the carpets. His bill was so reasonable, my husband actually insisted on giving him a tip! I will never use anyone else to clean my carpets again.

I was impressed with the service. We just moved in and had cat stains on our carpet with a lot of odor problems resulting from that. Frank was able to get out almost all of the stains-only two small ones remained and they looked like they had been bleached out-possibly by previous owners attempts at cleaning them. Frank was on time, courteous, friendly and trustworthy. Even though we did not know him-I felt comfortable leaving him alone in the condo while I had to run an errand. My trust was well deserved. He also gave me a lot of tips on how to care for carpets and what kind of carpet to buy when I replace this carpet.

This is a self-described "mom and pop business." Brenda was very courteous and customer-oriented in my original call, that set up the appointment. Frank (owner and sole cleaner) arrived on time, after calling to say, he was on his way. He did a very thorough walk-through of the entire house, describing his cleaning technique, offering product recommendations for cleaning up after pets, and showing how he estimated the cost of the project. After determining which pieces of furniture needed moving and which didn't he went to work "prepping" the rooms for cleaning. He spent a full day at the house (approximate 7 hrs), being delayed a couple of times, with minor equipment malfunctions that required repair. He displayed an obvious pride in his work and worked very hard to clean everything, thoroughly. Several times, he asked me to review his work, to be sure it met my standards. I will definitely ask King Sweep to return next year, for an annual cleaning. Frank and Brenda are terrific!!

I called Frank; he is the owner and told him my problem. I had just had my carpets cleaned 3 days prior and tripped and spilled my coffee. He had a lower minimum than the other guys and also his reviews on Angie's List are fabulous. He did not disappoint. He went above an beyond in his care for my carpet. He is extremely knowledgeable about carpet and stains. I am very confident if he doesn't get it out; then it is not coming out by anybody. I used to work for a major steam cleaning company and I can tell you that Frank is better than anyone I have ever used before. He is very committed to his job and is extremely thorough.

Frank Prantil arrived exactly on time, to the minute. He was pleasant with a nice smile. We looked over the job and agreed on an acceptable price. I've had my carpets cleaned several times in the past and the guys usually rush in and fly out within 45 to an hour. Frank spent a full two hours on this job. He was very attentive to detail and did a great job. Afterwards, he asked me to inspect his work and it was more than I expected. He had placed furniture up on pads which I would not have requested but ultimately made the job better. Frank has good prices, good quality, on time service, and a smile. I would definitely do business with him again.

Frank was there before the scheduled time of arrival, was EXTREMELY friendly and polite, and did a FANTASTIC job of cleaning a really filthy carpet. He even cleaned a small throw rug for me at no additional cost. Just a super nice, professional man.

If you want someone who will get in and out of your house quickly and do a half-baked job, Frank's not your man. He stayed all day at our house, and got our carpets looking nearly like new. I never would have thought it possible. Before Frank came, our carpets were DIRTY!! I highly recommend Frank to anyone who has dirty carpets and wants to see what they look like clean.

He provided the most thorough cleaning our carpets have ever received. The cost of his services was very reasonable. We were totally satisfied, and plan to use this company again, and will refer our friends to him.
