Description of Work: The Angies List deal was $40.00 for $80 of service. They had to install two motion detector lights on existing outlets and I supplied the motion detector lamps. He also replaced an on/off switch in the garage. For this work I had to pay $210.00. Adding on the $40.00 upfront payment, this work cost me $210. I am disabled and I feel they took advantage of me.

Description of Work: I purchased $80 of service for $40; it was obviously a marketing strategy to become contracted for a large project. I had the Electrician replace one outlet (I provided the part) and felt I got my money's worth.

I had been putting off looking into solar for a long time. My neighbor had Green Electric install a solar system a few months ago and all they talk about is how much money they are saving on their utility bill. So I gave a call and had a consultant come out for a free solar design and consultation. The numbers made more the enough sense and I can t believe I had been putting this off for so long. They assisted with the financing, answered all my concerns. Inspection passed.

My major concern with going solar was the aesthetics of my Spanish style home. I didn't want to just see solar panels when I looked at my home. Green Electric was able to place the panels on the roof where I get most sunlight which happened to be the back part of the home that you cant even see. The savings I was shown at my consultation to see if i was even a candidate for solar was very conservative to the savings I am actually receiving currently on my electric bill. I am so amazed at the technology. After the new year I will be installing the solar panels for heating my pool.

He asked to see the chandelier before he would give me a price. It was only one man that came out, and I showed him the chandelier, and he told me it was going to be $1800 to get it installed. The lighting company that sold me the light gave me an estimate of $100, and $1800 is over three times what I paid for the chandelier itself. I contacted another company about the same project and they gave me an estimate of under $100. He is dishonest and extortionists.

Response from Green Electric Solutions
This lady is making a false statement. She never got an estimate for $100.00, because we have asked her to forward us the $100 supposed estimate and she still hasn't done so. First of all chandelier is heavy and requires 2 people to install it and secondly it is above 12 feet and thirdly there needs to replacement bracket to hold the weight of the chandelier. We offered the client the Angies list customer discount to $1400.00 but she started to to go babble about how she is a fortune teller and physic and that she would never consider doing business with us. A complete falsified response - should be voided - we never did any work for her.

We were preparing for a family event in the late afternoon and all of a sudden, no power to part of our home and to the backyard area. We had over 50 family members planned to show up, but my wife couldn't even start preparing the food. We called around to get someone out ASAP. Green Electric Solutions was the only company that answered the phone with a live person and had someone avail to do the repair within 60 minutes from the time I called at 3 pm Sunday afternoon. The others I called, either never returned my called, had no one avail or wanted to charge a service call for Sunday afternoon and no one but Green could get out ASAP. Job was completed, party was great. We also ended up getting a clogged sink in our guest bathroom and their sister company Ace Contractors came out this AM. I will always call this group again for anything we need.

I just became an angies list member and was doing a search and came across the company that came out to my house last week. The power had gone out in half my home, it wasn't the breakers, I couldn't figure it out. I called Green Electric from the BBB book and they came out right away and found that something or someone had gnawed some of our lines.

The new tenants reported no power in the upstairs bedrooms in my 1977 rental condo. I checked the breaker and it was closed for that circuit. However, on cycling it, I noticed it would not close properly half the time. I did some more checking and discovered that the previous tenants had dropped something in the sink and actually melted the terminal side of the GFCI outlet on the adjacent breaker. Since the new tenants were already moving in and many electricians on Angie's List only work normal business hours or require a day or two of advance notice, I called Green Electric and they came that night. Joe walked through with his continuity tester and agreed that the breaker was just old and weak and needed to be replaced, then handed me the quote for $185 - including the 20% discount. Now lest you think gentle reader that you're getting a great deal with that Angie's List discount, Green Electric offers the same discount as a coupon on their web site. In fact, they offer that discount if you have a pulse. When I pointed out that a discount at any time for anyone isn't really a discount, Joe offered to write up the order at the "regular rate" and then add the line for the discount. He also offered to throw in the GFCI outlet for another $90. I knew how to wire a GFCI outlet and declined. He finished the breaker replacement in ~10 minutes - making me wish that I had watched the process since I'm willing to tackle any repair that costs >$1000/h (even if the truck roll was $85, that's still $600/hr)!. However, there's no denying that having them respond immediately and fix the problem quickly was worth a premium in this case.

While I don't have an issue with the quality of the work before even visiting the unit they tried to upsell my manager on putting in a new electrical panel because it was "old." After showing up about 4 hours late because of an emergency the tech immediately told the manager all of the electrical outlets had to be replaced because they were "old." Their pricing was high in my opinion and I have no use for vendors/contractors that try to sell something before they've even looked at the problem. In the end it cost $564 to have two outlets replaced (they did have to check all but charged $299 just for that.) Just not a Company I'd do business with in the future.
Description of Work: They were called out to check a dead electrical outlet in a 2 bedroom rental. Ultimately replaced 2 outlets after checking all.

Customer has his facts completely wrong. First of all the owner was not even there ans secondly we did not give any recommendation to change out a panel before looking at it. This comment makes no sense. Just like the false accusation the customer makes about only changing out 2 outlets for $574.00. For some rerason the client in his comments forgets to mention for the same price of $594.00 we had to trouble shoot the circuit to find the problem and we also install a 4ft T-12 4 lamp fixture with a ballast in the kitchen which was all part of the total price.

Work on the panel and two upstairs circuits was completed efficiently. Rest of work was delayed when the primary member of the two-man team received a call about his father. The two men asked to leave for an emergency. This wasn't a problem for us since it was not inconvenient for us to have the remaining work completed at a later date. We later learned the man's father had died. About a week later the men returned and completed the work. The electricians were knowledgeable and friendly. They cleaned up after themselves and we are satisfied with the work.
Description of Work: Ran two new circuits from main electrical panel to the second floor of our one family house. Ran one new circuit from the main electrical panel to the kitchen for use with a microwave to be installed. Retrofit a fluorescent light unit with LED lights. Completed panel tune-up to include replacing old circuit breakers with new ones.
