Description of Work: Had a garage door spring break and discovered that it was an obsolete design and they had to replace the whole roller unit with a conventional unit. Way more expensive than planned. Tech gave me a good deal because I am a Vet and included a few extra items to improve operation and did that at cost. Job went quickly, pleasantly and professionally. I will use them for all future tune-ups and repairs.

Description of Work: I purchased a coupon for $49 for a garage door tune-up. The door was working before the technician arrived but sometimes stopped on cold days. Although I mentioned the coupon when the appointment was scheduled, he requested payment upon arrival. He accepted the coupon and did the tune-up, but provided a $400 estimate to repair. I declined and sent him on his way. The garage door works perfectly.

Hello Mrs. [Member Name Removed], I do apologize you were less than pleased with your service. The technician only requested to see the prepaid voucher code to ensure it's validity. We do not require payment upfront. Also, technicians do a thorough inspection of the door while conducting the tune-up. They note parts that show signs of wear and tear and offer you to have the service completed at that time as preventative maintenance. We do not require you to go with the suggestions but it is our responsibility to point them out as insurance that we did our job if something fails in the near future. The technician pointed out a few suggestions to help with the longevity of your door. He recommended adding a support strut to your 16' wide door. The support strut is recommended on all 2-car doors to prevent eventual bowing of the panels. Some companies forgo installing them when they do a large number of door installations in a housing community in order to cut costs and win the bid on the project. It is also a way for those companies to ensure themselves future work when the doors begin to bow and fail. While your door is working great at the moment, you now have an idea on what the problem may be when the door fails in the future. It is purely for our customer's reference and many like to get ahead of the possible issues and go with the preventative maintenance while we are already out at the property so they don't have to spend another day getting work done in the near future or take the possibility of the door failing when it is extremely inopportune. Hopefully you can see from my explanation why we do things they way we do and would reconsider your review of our company. Thank you for your time and business.
