Garage Door Medics

I purchased a "big deal" that included a service call and the installation of an exterior keypad. The company was responsive and on time with the appointment. The installer was not aware of the "deal" that I purchased, but he listened to the problem and provided a reasonable solution. Again, when I asked him about installing the exterior keypad, he responded that he did not know anything about that. I provided him with a print-out of the "deal" that I had purchased, and he immediately installed the part. I was satisfied with the overall service and experience.

The Garage Door Medic service guy was great. As he was checking my door and fixing any problems, he showed me what he was doing so that I could do it all myself in the future to avoid any more cost in maintaining my system.

Our man was,Eric Murphy of GD Medics,came out looked at the door,gave us an estimate,and went to work on it.Very nice and professional guy,we liked him,and his work ! When my other half called,we were not expecting,same day service.Called that morning,and was here in the afternoon,did his job,and did fix the door,it works great.We appreciate his time and his work,if it ever happens again,we will be calling GD Medics......Thank You,Eric for a great job! Before: Arrived on time. Installed rollers as described in promotion. Performed door adjustments. After: Door only closes 80% of the time, as sensor eyes are not properly aligned, but this is not completely the vendor's fault. Operation is very clunky, and noisy. I would have appreciated suggestions on making it more smooth and quieter.

They were very thorough, he was outstanding. He taught me how to lubricated the entire machinery on the door and I have already recommended them to two of my friends.

It was excellent. They were punctual and got our garage door working like it's brand new again!

I had a Big Deal for a 29 point tune up for our small garage door. That's why I called Garage Door Medics. Joel came out and performed the service. Then I asked about our large garage door. I had had several garage door companies out to fix a squeak that was very loud and drove us nuts. I was told various reasons for the squeak: it would be fixed, and then in two days the squeak would return (I would love to take back one review I made on Angie's List where I said the technician did a great job removing the squeak--well, it returned). Joel found the REAL reason for the squeak (bushing against the metal). A previous company said the door was slightly bowed because it was wood and wood does that after about 15 years, and eventually it would need replacing. Joel looked at the door and said the springs had been replaced a while ago and they were too small/too light for the large door. As a result, a gear inside the box was shredding (he showed it to me). He replaced the springs with proper ones that were stronger, and replaced parts inside the gear box. The cost was $577 with $89 for labor--the rest was parts. Perhaps I should have received an estimate from others, but other companies had seen the door and didn't even realize what the problem was. Bravo for Joel! This is one of the reasons I waited so long to write this review--I wanted to make sure the door worked properly for a few weeks.

The garage door spring broke at 8:30 pm at night making my garage door inoperable. I was on the phone at 6:45 am the next day with Garage Door Medics asking if someone could come that morning so that I could get my car out to go to work. The person who answered the phone told me as soon as she arrived in the office at 7:30 am she would talk to the service manager and get someone out to my home. 15 minutes later I received a call from Eric saying he was on his way to my house to fix the spring. He was finished in about 30 mins. and I arrived at work only a few minutes late. Eric was very professional, answered all of my questions, and instructed me on the warranty and maintenance. I also used the 10% coupon from their page.

We moved in three years ago and have a 3 car garage and didn't know when the last time the doors had been serviced plus we were having a problem with one of the doors closing with the remote. Pedro arrived and we talked about the problems. He's really a personable guy. The "inspection and service" special covered the inspection, lubrication, etc. He found that the sensor on the one door wasn't working properly, so we had him replace that sensor for an additional $199.00. Don't know if that's a good price or not, but everything is working perfectly now. The doors were all inspected and lubricated, etc. and now are a lot smoother and quieter. He also explained how often, with what lubricant and where the lubrication point were for us to do the future.

This review covers two separate transactions with Garage Door Medics. The first was to replace a 10 year old garage door opener and install one in a second garage that didn't have one. The second service was a result of the spring mechanism breaking at 4:45 pm on a Thursday afternoon, called Garage Door Medics and they we able to have Otto out that evening, after talking to him though I decided to have him do the work the following morning. He was there as promised at 7:00 and the spring mechanism was converted and done by around 8:30 Garage Door Medics provided excellent service and products. Have had 2 of their techs to our house, Josh and Otto and both were very knowledgeable and professional. Great Job.

A bit pricey for the work that was done.

I phoned in to make an appointment to have my garage door springs replaced. My appointment time window was met and the required parts were along with the tech. Work began immediately. I know a good deal about garage doors, mostly enough to know that replacing springs it out of my skill set but something I understand parts-wise and work steps. Everything done looked proper and all the parts and resulting installation were explained. Also, I was reminded to do some basic periodic maintenance (oiling), which was a good reminder.

They did a wonderful job in fixing our garage door motor. They were friendly over the phone, immediately available, offered a number of repair/replacement & reviewed the differences prior to the visit, and finally finished the job as requested the next day. The door works great!!!

Garage Door Medics put in springs, hinges, drums and bearings to fix our garage door. I liked the fact that the technician - his name was Joel - was very professional. He was not pushy in any way, but made everything very clear as far as where we were at and the likelihood of what was going to happen to our garage door if we didn't do something. He showed me the parts and showed me the things and it was absolutely true. It did cost us a bit, but we are going to have a working garage door for the next 40 years. He was great and I did speak to one of the managers before he came back to do some work. They worked with me on price and all in all it was a good experience. I think the price is reasonable: I didn't realize that you could have these issues, and I certainly didn't realize they would be expensive like they are. But they are. The people were really pleasant to deal with. I would recommend this company for sure.

Did a great job tuning up garage door. Very thorough, door was MUCH quieter after tuneup!

Tech was very friendly and knowledgeable. He explained my options and what we be best for the long-run. Since garage door was not working, I did not get multiple quotes, so I did not grade on pricing. Based on other reviews on Angie's list, I felt that this company's pricing would be fair.

Pedro was on time and professional. He quickly determined that my garage door opener was not broken and did not need the quiet system I had paid for on Angie's List, but instead I simply had a garage door opener that was very noisy. He explained my options and once I decided to purchase a new quiet opener he worked efficiently to install and explain functions. He also called the office to see if he could apply the credit for the service I had previously paid for that I did not need to this invoice. That gesture solidified my opinion on the company. I would highly recommend Garage Door Medics to anyone.

Our garage door stopped working and I called the company after hours expecting to leave a message but was surprised Mick answered the phone and scheduled an appointment for the next day. Pedro, the technician showed up on time and was exceptional! He answered all our questions and was very patient and friendly. The work was done on time and the garage doors are much quieter now than they have ever been after 9 years! Will definitely use them again and again.
