Garage Door Medics

This is a rental property and tenants have complained now and then that the garage door wasn't operating properly. I had a couple of other companies out who did "tune-ups" but never said anything major was wrong. But still there were complaints.... Then comes Joel. Joel really knows his stuff. He is punctual, describes everything, shows everything and is quite efficient. He is the A TEAM! He showed me where cables were fraying because they were being ground down by other hardware. He showed me where someone put in nuts and bolts backwards. He showed me how the springs were showing signs of wear and that you really don't want springs to go out on you without warning, because they you can't get your car out of the garage because the door is so dang heavy. And then he showed me where there was a disengaged lock on the garage door that I didn't know about, and he took it off. I was concerned about costs, so he said I could wait on the springs and sometimes the company has specials on cables. He told me which springs to buy. He replaced cables, bearings and drums and the door sounded so much better. No more cables were hitting anything to cause fraying. Then two days later the company had a special on springs, so Joel came out again and replaced the springs. Now I can sleep more easily knowing there will be no more calls from the tenant! I am going to call him for our own home. Our garage doors work fine but they are noisy. He told me which Liftmaster he recommends and suggested I wait for a special. Thank you Joel!

It was perfect. I thought they were very good. They called and arranged the appointment. They called to let me know they were on their way. They showed up on time. They did the work and left. It was great.

I took advantage of a promo that GDMedics ran with Reader city. They were prompt, professional, informative, and did a great job. Even though I was getting a special they treated the job as if I paid full price. The technician, Gene, was very good and showed me all about the door and how to take care of it better than the company I bought it from 3 years ago. If I ever need anything done on my garage door I will call them for sure and I highly recommend them to everyone.

Tech was very nice and genuinely seemed to enjoy his work. Tuneup was completed and everything works great.

Excellent. Very punctual. Very friendly. Told about some other things that needed to be done, but didn't push me on it at all. also the office staff was very friendly and punctual. The service might be a little pricey compared to others. But I really believe that you get for and I'm very pleased with what we got. I'd use this company again in a heartbeat....

Found two problems and was able to fix both of them the same day, in just a few hours.

Alex at GDMedics was awesome! Kept the appointment time and called when he was close to give me a heads up. The tune-up service was quick and the door opens/closes much quieter. Nope, he didn't just blast it with WD-40, either. Also, he replaced the weather stripping along the bottom that was worn out (and letting in pests). All of this was done quick and Alex was a badass! He is very friendly, down to earth and made everything easy to understand.

Everything he said made sense. He did not push for additional add-on service - just told me what I may expect in a few years. When he was done the door was much quieter opening and closing. We finally solved it in the end. I replaced the bulb with an LED in an effort to save power. The LED puts out interference that blocked the signal. Replace the bulb and problem solved! I never felt rushed and felt like a valued customer. I will now schedule a tune-up every year or two when they have their special.

A really good job. The technician obviously knew what he was doing, explained the complexities of an electric garage door, adjusted and oiled everything, replaced the rollers, and also showed me that at some previous time the overhead brace had been compromised and bent. He recommended replacing it, which I agreed to, and charged only for the part. I was really happy with the job and would recommend Garage Medics without qualification!

I had called and scheduled an appointment, they said they would be there in the morning because I told them I had an appointment in the afternoon. I waited around until almost one, before I had to go. They showed up after one and my neighbor witnessed it. They left a note to reschedule, but it was not the correct number. I left a voicemail and no one got back with me.

It was fine. It took them a while to come out, but I think they were just overloaded and backed up with the Big Deal. The door works fine now.

They installed it quickly and efficiently. The door control panel was coming loose from garage door wall. I asked them to fasten it securely to wall and they agreed to do so. When I came out to pay the bill and inspect their work, the control panel was practically falling off the wall. I reminded them to secure it and the trainee reluctantly did so. They seemed like they were rushing to get to another call.

Service was satisfactory after I complained about the time schedule and lack of communication.

Was a little more than I wanted to spend, but it sounds like the garage really needed it, so I went ahead and had him do the recommended services.

The provider was on time and replaced our rollers as a part of the advertised deal. He then diagnosed and fixed the issue with the garage door by replacing some wires. We were very happy with the quality of the service, the punctuality of the provider and learned quite a few things about proper maintenance of the door and the rollers. I strongly recommend this provider and will definitely use him again when needed.

This was fantastic service. I found my garage door spring broken at 3:30pm on a Saturday. I found that Garage Door Medics provided emergency service on the weekends. I called the 800 number, talked to their help desk. The service dispatcher called me back in about 10 minutes. She had technician in the area that was coming back from another job and indicated he would arrive in about an one hour. The technician (Pedro) contacted me right away and was on the job in 30 minutes - that was fantastic. He finished the job in about one-half hour. This rapid and professional service was way beyond my expectation for a weekend emergency call.

Excellent service and very knowledgeable technician for repair. Jacob called 30 minutes before arriving at house and was very precise and thorough in his inspection of my door and components that needed attention. He was not pushy in trying to sell me anything and provided me options to my doors problem. Jacob took the time to explain to me how my door worked and what I should be aware of in the future to prevent problems. He worked quickly and was very efficient in the installation of my main springs and bearings. He represented his company very well and I will definitely use Garage Medics for future tune ups and any repairs. I am very particular who I allow into my home and perform repairs. Jacob was a perfect example of the type of person I use for repairs.

Overall, I rate this trip outstanding. I would definitely use this company again for all garage door repairs. The technician was friendly, knowledgeable, and took his time to do a thorough job. We have three separate single car doors. One opener was broken and the others were somewhat noisy. He took the time to walk me through each door saying which parts were in good shape and which ones may fail down the road. He was not trying to upsell at all - he just wanted me to know that on Door #2 the springs may have 1-2 years of life yet while on the other doors they look good for much longer time (as an example). What really sold me is that one of my doors the remote control mysteriously stopped working. He spent a good 20 minutes trying to debug the problem. He tried some signal booster product that in the end did not help. At the end we figured out the problem. In an effort to save electricity I had replaced the bulbs in the opener with LED bulbs. These bulbs apparently put out interference that blocked the remote. Once I went back to good old fashioned incandescents, everything worked fine. The doors are running much smoother and I now am a believer in getting them tuned up once a year or so.

I was informed late in the day that the technician cannot make the appointment.

Garage Door Medics responded to my email request quickly & John, the tech, was out promptly. John was very thorough in explaining what he was looking at & why & how things should look/work. He was straightforward about what needed handling right away & what could wait. GREAT job!

I purchased the Big Deal and had a garage door tune-up. My door had been experiencing problems and I wasn't sure if the needed repairs were serious or small. I needed to have the springs replaced during my tune-up visit as well as receiving the tune-up. The staff were very professional and helpful. I will use them again next year for a tune-up!

After having a tune-up on Friday afternoon January 24th, on Saturday my garage door would not open all the way so I could not get my car out. I have never had that problem before. I called at 4.30pm and again 6.30pm on the various numbers that are listed on the website and on the business card that Eric gave me, also called his cell phone, I left messages every time. I called again on Sunday around 10am and again at 11.00am. Their website states they have emergency 24hours a day, 7 days a week service, same day guaranteed. It is now Monday 11.15am and I am STILL WAITING for a call back. This is absolutely terrible service and I would not recommend anyone use this company ever!!! Thought I'd done my research well, clearly not! Update! They finally called me Wednesday February 5th ~ 12 days later!!!!!!!

He came out the same day I purchased the deal because my garage door failed on me. The technician was prompt, knowledgeable and professional. He was truthful in that the garage door opener no longer met code. He replaced the opener with a new one to bring it up to code. I can tell the difference in the speed of the opener and I feel he set me up with a good model. He even changed the location of the button so it is more convenient for me.

The Garage Door Medics (GDM) technician and staff who handled our service call are to be acknowledged and even (hopefully, by the company owners) commended for exceptional overall customer service and especially individual and corporate expertise, honesty, and quality of workmanship. Right up front; like all of us, we are very "stingy" with our hard-earned dollars and even more so with our praise for most anything and everything. We called on GDM for an annual garage door service call, check-up on our nearly ten year old system. While performing the check-up, the service technician, Mr. JEFF W. (very well spoken, well-dressed, courteous, and able to explain some surprisingly, pretty technical information at an understandable level), noted that the springs were some day potentially, going to falter. He explained that, not only would they ultimately affect the operation and efficiency of the motor and door, but that at some point, the springs could actually "break" and potentially do harm to not only material, but loved ones. So, after asking JEFF an exhaustive list of questions (which he fielded completely and honestly, even breaking out his calculator to demonstrate the "usage" and wear and tear calculation to explain what, if any life these springs might still have), I agreed to have JEFF install new springs. JEFF went the extra step, completely his own idea (honesty and customer care!) to check with his home office to inquire about any "specials," because if you do some research, replacing door springs can be costly. JEFF contacted Ms. IRENE in the GDM office management, and she and he were able to come up with what I determined (after doing some quick homework) what appeared to be a very fair pricing. Bottom line -- thanks to the GDM's JEFF and IRENE's expertise and service, my loved ones are safer (both physically -- no future breaking of a worn spring potentially injuring them -- and security -- not being trapped outside or inside a garage, where the spring(s) have let go and now the hundred(s) of pound door stands between them and the safety of the home or their leaving for an appointment or work.)
