Punctual, professional. $400 of the cost was to upgrade the door rollers. So, the cost could have been a lot less.

Excellent availability - I called at 9am and received an estimated cost of $65-149 to replace the broken spring, and an arrival window of 11am-2pm. Tech Alex showed up at 1:15pm. So far so good. But . . . Technician Alex calls with recommendation to replace both springs for $300 - PLUS LABOR of $99. Say what? I said only the old one was broken and needed replacement, and I felt deceived that the general price range I originally heard didn't include labor. Alex says "we have a spring special - $199 to replace both springs including labor". So $300 became $200. Back on track. Alex calls and says the end bearings need replacement as well. $119. Each x2! But at least there's no extra labor charge. Now we're at $438? I said no, just do the springs. He puts on a hard sell. I say no. Alex calls again, this time says a cable is frayed and needs replacement. How much? $119. For new cables? I say no, that's ridiculous. Alex gets more snippy but agrees to just replace the springs for $199. Says he'll be back in a week when the door breaks again. Didn't leave me with a good feeling, so I wrote a bad review. They care! Noah Taylor, marketing manager, calls right away to say they are sending Alex back to replace the cables at no charge. They did so quickly and with a (forced) smile, so I updated this review at their request. It's nice to deal with a company that takes their customer satisfaction reviews very seriously.

I could not be happier with this service! From the moment the scheduling process began it has been easy! Cynthia was very responsive and communicated very promptly with me to schedule my visit. Dion came out to perform the service. He was extremely nice and did a great job servicing my garage door. He was professional and very knowledgable. I had pre-paid for the service through Angie's List "Big Deal" and after Dion performed the service, he determined that I overpaid and started the process to refund some of my money. I love the honesty. It is what makes this company so fantastic. I will definitely use Garage Door Medics again. As a matter of fact, I have asked to receive an annual reminder so that I can have this service done on a regular basis to prevent any surprise malfunctions.

We purchased a $79.00 deal through Angie's List and made an appointment to have our garage door system serviced. John Chavez arrived on time and with all equipment needed to complete the job. Our garage door opener is about 15 years old and had not been working reliably. John carefully inspected the opener and door, replaced all of the rollers, serviced the opener and made some adjustments so the door would work smoothly. He patiently explained to my husband how the system works and let him know about commmon problems that may arise in an older system like ours. Our door works like new now! We were very pleased with John's professionalism, competence, knowledge and honesty. We felt we got a real bargain for $79.00 and will definitely call Garage Door Medics next time we have a problem with our opener.

I am dismayed that I must "re-do" the review I submitted initially when work was done. I do not have all the information now without doing some research?..I do know the first person to come "Upsold" me on various items for the garage door, which he said it needed and which totaled just under $500. (this in addition to the "big deal ' price paid to Angies List. for the external garage door opener.) After replacing rollers and other items and then spraying the door heavily with lubricant, the annoying "pop and grind noise" was gone. Two days later it was making the same noise as prior to the "service". I called Garage Door Medics and. at my request, they sent another repair person who inspected the door and determined that it needed a particular set of rollers to fix the popping/grinding noise the door made. It cost me another $25 but the door continues to operate now without that annoying noise. So, the garage door works properly now. I feel I was charged for service the door did not need. But the second service person knew his job, fixed the noise problem, which I had found annoying, and was professional in doing so.

It was ok. They were on time and responded right away to my questions and get me scheduled. It was a little disconcerning because at first I ordering the tune-up, but when the technician came out, he pointed out our garage didn’t have any sensors. We had him replace the whole system. I showed him the big deal I purchased and he said I didn’t need the big deal and stated that he would have recommended that I not purchased the big deal. He said it was his professional opinion that I didn’t need them. They were able to replace the system and get the stuff that we needed but it felt like I purchased the big deal for no reason as I didn’t get that service.

I called this provider at approximately 11:00 AM. I was given an arrival window of 12:00-4:00 PM that same day. The technician arrived at 12:05, analyzed the problem, repaired the problem with replacement parts, write up the job and was gone by 12:30. Fast service, reasonable price, personable technician? What's not to like.

$39 for a garage door lube & tuneup seemed like a good deal. However, it's really just a lube and you can buy a can of the same stuff at a hardware store and do it yourself (just spray the tracks, wheels & hinges) for $10. On the other hand, I asked a ton of questions & probably got $30 of advice (once I got past the obligatory upsell for new springs, etc.) Alex was pretty cool about striking the right balance. I'd call them again if I needed a repair.

service representative arrived near the end of the scheduled window and the visit ran over the 8am-12pm time. the service technician was very professional and was able to quickly diagnose the problem with the door not closing without holding the wall button depressed. the service technician was able to complete the roller replacement quickly and provided recommendations on other items that may need to be serviced/replaced in the near future. the service technician was professional and took the time to explain the issues that he repaired as part of the tune-up and describe the wear issues that would eventually require additional work to be performed.

Jacob from Garage Door Medics came to work on my garage door, which had become very difficult to open (it is manually operated). He checked it out; explained what was needed; did lubrication and some minor adjustments, and it is now VERY much improved and easy to open! He also answered my questions regarding automatic doors, etc. and gave me information but did not engage in hard-sell tactics, which I appreciated. If I need additional work on my door, I will call Garage Door Medics.

Exceptionally well. Same day service which I would consider extremely prompt. Very professional diagnosing the entire system and fixing the only component which required service.

Called yesterday and they had an opening for this pm. Called to ask if it was ok to come early, showed up at new time and identified problem. Got right to work and finished up quickly. Door works perfectly now and actually better than before breakdown.

Robert did a great job. He did a thorough inspection and made recommendations on what may need replacing. After the job was completed, he went over everything that he did and answered questions as needed. Great job! Thank you - Kristine

He appeared to be new to the company. I base this on what he said concerning his work history. He seemed to know what he was doing. However, a month and a half later( 12/10/13), I had to call him back to fix a terrible squeak from the spring he had installed. He wanted to charge me $99 for the service call. I protested and he called the office. He got permission to waive the charge so,that turned out OK. Six months later my garage door unit went out. I decided to call a different repair company that my son used and trusted their work. When the repair person came out, he said.that was the wrong spring for that type of door. My door is a solid Copay door and that spring was undersized. He demonstrated by showing that the door could not be stopped at different points along the track and maintain its balance. He said the motor was laboring to operate a door this heavy. It appears the previous repair person was not up to the job. It sure was an expensive experience for me. Now the garage door works perfectly and is whisper quiet. Garage Door Medics did me no favor.

However, once Gene Arnell, the technician, arrived and started the inspection he discovered a broken spring. After further identifying the overall situation he explained what needed to be done to restore the functioning of the door to like new performance. All four springs were removed and careful measurements were taken so that new "custom made" springs could be fabricated. The custom springs were needed because the original builder, Bill Davidson, had chosen to install heavy duty wooden garage doors in the home and normal steel door springs would not be strong enough to lift the door. Gene Arnell did a really, really thorough and clean job. He came back the next day and installed the new springs, checked every nut, bolt, bearing, roller etc and lubricated and made any and all adjustments to balance and insure proper operation of the door. Mr, Arnell had nothing to do with the original response time error, that goes back to the Company. Obviously they should have tested the new system more thoroughly before putting it into service. That's the reason for the "B" grade on responsiveness. Mr. Arnell gets an "A+" for his responsiveness.

Alex showed me that the door was out of balance and that inappropriately two different size springs had been installed. And the 1/2 HP opener was not positioned correctly for smooth operation. He replaced two of the springs and repositioned the opener. After much work, the garage door now is in balance and the opening and closing are much smoother. I felt that he went out of his way and had to use his expertise to solve my door problem.

He did a fabulous job. Not only did he repair the disconnected cord, he checked all the movement and made sure everything was running correctly. Then he did not charge me for the "sophomore" mistake of disconnecting the drive by pulling on the cord. I told him it actually jumped off on its own and was disconnected. He said he could not see that and he tried it several times then he told me that if it gives any more problems please call him and he will come over and fix it. He refused to charge me. Alex really deserves kudos for what he has done. He even told me about the cord on the phone before coming over and then made the trip. What a guy. I would like his full name and I will send him a little something for Christmas. Something he can put on the end of a fishing pole. I wish I could give him a higher rating that "A." He is over the top. The manager of "Garage Door Medics" should know about this. These are the kind of people who bring customers to you. It is a Martin style garage door with one spring.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was okay and pretty good. I didn't spend any additional. They mentioned the springs were rusted and they were 15 years old. I said I needed a second opinion and they didn't push me so I didn't replace the springs. I think it is a pretty good company. They came on time and did the work they were supposed to do. They were quick. For the price, I couldn't expect anything else. They did what they were supposed to do. The price was fair and I didn't have any complaints.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. They were fine but I honestly didn't see any difference in my garage door. It was still just as noisy.

Leo was excellent installer, who took his time to do it right.

Jeff arrived on time and was very conscientious about his work. He explained everything very clearly and offered instruction on how to best perform routine maintenance. I will definately use Garage Door Medics for future service needs.

If all technicians and the owner of the company have the same mentality as the technician who came to my house, than this is an amazing company all around. There was so much over the top profesionalism and being courteous. I can not say how impressed I was at the knowlege of what has gone wrong and how he pointed it out. Once I called the old provider and they came out, everything that was told to me was true. i had the wrong motor size which could have destroyed my whole motor, wrong spring size for my door weight, etc. I would definitely only go back to this company for the reason at how honest and that they just wanted me to have a safe garage door becuase of my children and family.

I was attracted to this company because of their Angie's List "Special" price. Once the technician came, it turned out that the special is only good for a single piece door, which is not stated clearly in their ads. Instead, I had to pay full price for a door "tune-up," which I was first promised would fix my door problem (not staying closed). However, once the tune-up was completed, the price went up almost another $100 because the motor now had to be taken apart to fix the problem. Since we had invested so much already and wanted our door working -- we had no choice but to pay the additional. The full price, which we had expected to be around $100, was now almost $300. The door seems fixed, the technician was extremely nice and professional, and the company was indeed very responsive. However, the experience was not overall a positive one.
