Garage Door Medics

Jeff arrived to perform the tune up and install the quiet roller. He informed me that I had some serious problems with the door that needed immediate attention before he could do the work I requested. He was honest and let me know the danger involved if I did not take care of the repairs. Of course I was a little worried about the cost but Jeff was so nice and worked with me to get everything done. Jeff was a true professional, he never came across as trying to force me get work done that I did not need. He explained in detail what was wrong with the door and left it to me to decide what I wanted to do. He was such a pleasure to work with and if I have any other problems with the garage door I will definitely call Garage Medics and ask for Jeff.

John C. was an expert in his trade. He went in to considerable detail about the areas of the garage door which were not operating properly and fixed everything in a timely manner. I was impressed with how promptly the work was completed and the cost of the entire service. I feel the value was right on for the services provided and I have no hesitation recommending their services.

In the end it didn't hurt and was probably a good idea to get it done since nothing had been done to the doors for 5 years but it didn't fix the problem. They suggested considering a new garage door opener since ours is bottom of the line but wasn't pushy about it. We opted to hold out and wait. We had our home warranty company send out a different garage door company and take a look since the opener would be covered by it. They said the garage door opener was fine(yes very bottom of the line) and the door was fine just like Garage Door Medics. I guess the issue is with the heat the door is expanding and sticking to the paint so the home warranty company's garage door company sprayed lubed on the wall and so far it seems to help. Garage door Medics was very professional, came on time, didn't try to up-sell anything. I would probably use them if/when I need a new garage door opener since they always have specials on Angies List.

After 4 other estimates I was resigned to the opinion that I needed a new garage door and opener at a considerable expense. I tried one more estimate.....Jake took a good look at the garage door and all its components. He reassured me that it needed some minor repairs and a tune up. An hour later and at 1/10th the price, I have a functioning garage door that is quieter than before. He did a great job. It's now obvious that the other company's were just trying to sell me a new door and opener. When the time comes that I need a new door (hopefully in 5-10 years) I'll definitely ask GDM to do the job. They saved me a lot of money.

Once he finished, he went over everything he did and offered recommendations to get the most efficient use out of my garage door. Jeff from Garage Door Medics (www.GDMedics.com) called 25 minutes before the scheduled appointment time. He arrived a little early and went right to work checking my garage door. I had purchased the $99 for a Garage Door Tune-Up with Quiet-Roller Replacement or Keyless-Entry Pad for $99.00. I selected the Quiet-roller replacement and Jeff replaced the 10 original rollers with the nylon rollers with bearings which I was told would last the life door. He explained everything he was going to do and any additional costs which turned out to be the end bearing plates. Jeff also added a cross bar (no additional charge) to my garage door opener installation so it would no longer wobble when the door is opened and closed. My garage door and garage door opener are now ready for another season. An excellent service call I will use Garage Door Medics again.

I called Garage Door Medics this morning to see if they could repair our door (it had dents/cracks that were keeping it from opening and closing with the motor). By the end of the day, Brent Bassett had come when he said would, let me know about the best possible deal for me (including being flexible enough to adjust the Angie's List coupon), and repaired the door (by adding two struts instead of the more expensive option of replacing two panels) and provided me with a new keyless entry device. Brent was very personable, professional, and a pleasure to deal with. Thanks Brent (and Garage Door Medics) for service well done.

Cost was higher than I expected but quality and professionalism were great.

The technician did a good job and when he left both doors were far quieter than they had been before his service. He did not do up and down force checks though.

Tried to install fixed wireless remote keypad, but old (15 years) Raynor motor unit was not able to "Learn" and link up.

The company that was suppose to do the tune up said we had a broken spring so he couldn't do the tune up, however he said he would replace the spring for 599 minus what we already paid to Angie's list. Believing this price was too high, we found a couple other companies that would replace our spring for half the price so we couldn't use his service. thank you!

They did a good job, but I didn't appreciate that they raised the price when they came out. The work they did was good and the door has held up fine since then. I did have a few issues with scheduling, which was a miscommunication in their office, and I wasn't thrilled about that either. Given the trouble I went through just to make the tune-up happen, I was surprised that they didn't make any means to retain me as a customer. I would most likely use someone else next time.

Sean was great! Took care of all the problems and the garage door was working like it is new.

Excellent service. I called on Friday and had them come out the following morning. I had John come to replace my springs as well as some other things. He had everything in stock in his truck. Being an engineer, I was interested in knowing how the procedure was done and he was very helpful in explaining it all and what to look out for. He even showed me how to reprogram my entry pad. In the end he did a final thorough adjustment of the whole system and checked everything out and made recommendations on what to replace. He only recommended things that needed to be replaced and did not sell you things that you truly didn't need right away. John obviously has lots of experience, he works quickly. It works much smoother now. I would definitely recommend Garage Door Medics to anyone. Thanks!

These Angie's List "deals" more often than not wind up costing more than advertised, because they always manage to find something else that "needs" to be done.

I initially had them come and tune up my existing garage door. Dion did a great job and said other than replacing the wheels in a year or two the garage door was in good working order. Because the opener was old and loud, I inquired about a new opener. Dion suggested a Liftmaster Elite 8550. I was set up for installation the next day from 12-4pm. They are very good about calling ahead to let you know when they will be arriving. By 3:45pm i didn't have a call so I called the company to see if we were on the schedule. For some reason we weren't but they fixed the problem within an hour and sent another technician. Robert did a fantastic job of installing a new opener and we are very pleased with the results! The opener is a lot quieter!! Thanks for being a great company with excellent customer service!

First the guy couldn't figure out what was wrong. He had to call the office to be directed. If your garage door is past a certain height, there is an additional fee. That fee came as a surprise to me.

The "emergency" service on Saturday was wonderful. I was trapped in the garage with a door I could not open even manually and Alex replaced the mechanism with a much more user friendly device. He provided an estimate prior to working on the door so there were so surprises. I was more than pleased with the work. May thanks.

Mark was highly professional on the phone, did a thorough garage inspection to confirm the measurements I provided, and scheduled the install precisely as requested. The installation technician, Pedro, arrived right on time and did a superb job with removal, install and instructions. I independently ordered a few accessories online: Internet Gateway, Wireless Keyless Entry & HomeLink Repeater Kit. I couldn't be more pleased with the service by Garage Door Medics, recommend them very highly, and am only sorry that my garage door wasn't changed by them sooner!
