Garage Door Medics

My garage door was occasionally refusing to close in the afternoon. The door acted as if something was interrupting the electric eye. I called Garage Door Medics who had installed the opener last March. Technician John K came and assessed the opener and electric eye. All seemed in good working order. John said that he had discovered that the electric eye might malfunction if the sun is hitting the 'send' eye. In fact, each time the door malfunctioned it was a sunny afternoon with the sun on the 'send' eye. So John's advice was to 'shadow' the eye when the problem occurs. John did not charge for his service call. I will call Garage Door Medics in the future.

My garage door opener was making a grinding sound when the door closed. I called Garage Door Medics who had installed the opener last March. I scheduled a service appointment. Technician Gene called the next day to say he had an unexpected opening and could come early. Gene assessed the opener and door. He recommended replacing the spring which had outlived its lifespan. When he removed the wheel with the bearings, he discovered damage and recommended replacing the wheel also. Gene was knowledgeable and completed the repair quickly and efficiently. He also serviced the opener and door. It works well now. Before he left Gene tested the auto reverse and electric eye safely features. He explained how they worked and simple adjustments I could make in the future if needed. I would use Garage Door Medics again in the future.

They did a good job but know its going to cost extra to get this taken care of.

Arrived early, promptly got to work. Enjoyed my interest in observing and learning. Great instructor, enjoyed teaching me about garage doors. Highly recommend this business.

I had wanted a garage door tuneup. Jacob found and showed me several damaged parts. The door works even better than new.

UPDATE: Ya know, this overly positive review has been on my mind for some time. I had scheduled Garage Door Medics for a $39 garage door tune-up deal. I was hoping the tune-up would cure a popping sound my garage door made after opening. The technician "sold me" on replacing the spring bar for an additional $199 in an attempt to stop the popping sound. Replacing the spring bar did have the garage door generally operating smoother but the popping sound remained. The technician said there was nothing else which could be done other than replacing the garage door. Fast forward to today. I scheduled Easy Open Door Company for a $39 garage door Angie's List tune-up deal. The technician, Miles, quickly determined the popping sound was caused by the door raising too high. In 30 seconds Miles adjusted the guide which determines where the door stops. Wah lah, popping sound eliminated at no extra charge. In retrospect I would have appreciated Garage Door Medics focusing more on the identified problem than making a sale. ORIGINAL: I'm almost speechless at having received unbelievable, top notch customer service from first phone call to completion of service. It all begins with Cynthia in the call center. You are dealing with someone who is professional, polite, positive and who truly desires to exceed (not just meet) customer expectations. She scheduled my service call for the following morning which was a nice perk considering I thought it might be several days waiting. Service Technician John Kirby phoned me with advance notification that he was 15 minutes away and would arrive at scheduled time. Upon John's arrival I immediately knew I was dealing with someone who had detailed knowledge of garage door products and operation. He walked me through the short comings of my garage door as installed and recommended most cost effective improvements. I gave approval for the repairs as quoted. John set to work in a highly efficient manner and I was impressed that he had all required parts in stock on his truck. During course of the repairs John discovered and corrected other deficiencies. At completion John outlined all completed repairs, stayed with the original quote and did not charge me for the additional repairs. The garage door now purrs when operating where before it was deafening. Zowee - count me in as a customer for life!

I bought a big deal for this service and they were okay. Nothing stood out; it was just an okay job. It did not help with the noise in the garage. I had hoped it would. My interactions with them were good. He was a nice enough fellow. I don't know what roller balls cost but it seemed like a good deal.

Without proving one way or another what was the cause of my mysterious door goings-on, I got new sensors and a brace for my extra - heavy garage door. What a difference that brace made!!! Substantially less noise on each roll and no fear the loose screw are going to pop out. Gene, the tech from GSM, was thorough, professional, and friendly and took the time to explain everything. I'd definitely use them again.

They were too Replace garage door rollers and drums and general maintenance of garage doors. In addition they were to replace garage door trim. In general they did a good job everything looks good works good. I have one nail in a tire and have pictures of 13 other nails left in my garage and driveway. Old Rollers were left in my garage. The boxes of the new Control Panel they installed along with the instruction manual left in my kids toy Jeep. They need to work on cleanliness and customer service otherwise great

He came on time for the appointment. There was one person here doing the work. He was able to fix a problem. The price was well worth the work.

The complete job, as indicated above, went very well because Brent has years of experience and the skills to complete every aspect of the job. If a problem was found, he would give an explanation and give me the opportunity to approve the recommended fix. Brent kept in touch via telephone, and arrived on time. He completed every detail of the job in a professional manner and was done in no time. He answered all my inquiries and even offered to key-in (program) my hand-held garage door openers to my car remote system in the overhead console. My once noisy, grinding and irritating garage door opener mechanisms are now humming. I am very pleased with the completed job, and would recommend Brent and the Garage Door Medics to anyone with garage door issues.

I would recommend garage door medics 100%. They are very prompt on timing I wasn't waiting all day for them to arrive. Oscar made my appointment for me and had availability for the next day. Also he explained me all my options. Jacob was my tech that came to my house. Very quick and efficient. He went over everything with me and made sure I understood. He also gave me all my option with being very honest and not pushing me to buy anything. There prices are very good. Make sure to buy the Angie's list tune up.

Alex did a great job of explaining what had to be done and did it in a prompt fashion.

They did a very good job. The guy was very thorough and friendly. I paid them $80 additionally for the new controls, setting them up and, showing me how to use them .

When I called, a real person answered the phone immediately. She said all techs were busy and would the next day be ok. I said there were valuable things in the garage and I wasn't comfortable with that. She said she would call back in less than 10 minutes, which she did. Preston was there within an hour. He explained the cost and the job and fixed it. Very professional and polite.

Called, they came out same day within 1.5 hours. Agreed that I needed a new motor since the other one was dragging. Decided on more expensive model because it is quieter and a bedroom is right above it. Caleb was the service tech, he was very cordial and informative. He did not have the right 8 foot rail on his truck, but was able to get one from another tech that happened to be in the area, the benefits of dealing with a larger company where they can cover each other. Took about 1.5 hours start to finish and he even made sure to tighten my springs in the process. New motor is nice and quiet and with a belt drive, should last more than the 10 years of the prior unit. Only downside is the new model 8550 Liftmaster is not compatible with my cars homelink systems and seems like a repeater is needed to fix it.

I took advantage of their tune-up special but ended up having the entire door and springs replaced. Both men were courteous, on time and did a great job.

They were very good as far as coming out when they said they would and they set up a date pretty quickly, so their responsiveness was good.

Service was great. Technician was pleasant and completed all work quickly. No problems. Afterwards, experienced some confusion about paying through Angies List and paying the technician. Garage Door Medics handled the situation very graciously, with a focus on customer service. All was resolved and I am 100% satisfied with this company, it's people and the work they do.

Came home to find that our garage door wouldn't open. We called Garage Door Medics around 4:50 PM and were able to schedule a next day appointment. Ricky was very friendly and helpful on the phone. Jake called to give us a 20 min heads up for his arrival which was within the time window given. Jake clearly explained the problem and costed the repair. We discussed other potential repairs/upgrades with Jake who did not pressure us to get additional work done. Overall very satisfied with the customer service and work provided.

My technician, Alex was very knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. He pointed out several areas of imminent failure. He answered every question to my satisfaction and I elected to have the repairs performed now, rather than wait for failure. I am fully satisfied with Alex and Garage Door Medics. I will recommend them to any of my neighbors who might want a smooth and quiet door.

The service went well. I have been using the company for 5 years and they also installed the door. They were able to correct the issue with the reading saying there was an obstruction. One technician came out and completed the job in less than an hour. He was very clean and neat in his work. He was good at explaining what we should do to keep the issue from happening again. We had no problem scheduling the service.
