Garage Door Medics

It went horrible. They did the job in terms of the tune-up, but they put too much grease down on the central screw. It dripped down and ended up on our shoes. We didn’t notice it and ended up tracking it into the home and when I called them about it they told me there was nothing they could do about it. We had a power outage and I had to open the door manually and there was more grease that dripped, but we happened to catch it. I would never use them again and I wouldn’t recommend anyone to use them.

They did a very good job and I was very pleased. What stood out about them was their efficiency. There were no difficulties scheduling the appointment.

Preston was great! He explained everything to me, didn't rush me, and was diligent and efficient. The spring in my garage door had broken in a system no longer available, but now it has a different torsion (?) mechanism and both the double and the single doors are working great with the remotes. Christian was great on the phone and Cynthia was very helpful with email.

Our garage door was stuck - a cable had snapped and wound itself around the tension mechanism. Alex came out, evaluated the situation, and recommended that the best fix would be replace the old style spring system with a new conventional system. I had an Angie's List Coupon to cover the tune-up and replacing the rollers to quite things down, so the conversion of the spring system was an add-on. A few days later the garage door was in distress. I called and Alex was here in a hour. The rollers had jumped the track at a spot where the track was distorted. Alex fixed that, but then discovered there was an issue with the opener mechanism - the door would only open or close about a foot before shutting off. It didn't seem this was related to the service previously provided, but Alex said he couldn't be 100% sure, so "I will take care of this today". We needed to try a new part in the opener, but it was not readily available. So Alex drove back to the shop, and dumpster dived into their recycle pin of old openers. He found the needed part, drove back, and installed it, and got us going again at no additional charge. I call this going the distance to make things right and be sure the customer is satisfied!

Don came at appointment time right on time. He is very pleasant and professional. Tuned up garage , replaced spring, and switched the light sensor to opposite side so my remote control would work in the sun. Garage door works smoothly and the noise is greatly reduced. Also can close the garage door from my car in the sunny days.

It was expensive. It cost me an extra $300 on top of the Big Deal I purchased. The price for the coupon was good. The price for the extras had to be done, but it was expensive for me.

It was not great. This guy definitely ripped me off big time. The job was done at my beach house, which is a rental. But the people were there. I already paid for the deal and then he charged me $699 in addition to it. It didn't even take him an hour. He was non-specific on what needed to be done or what was the problem. He bought a new garage door, a new motor or something. He didn't really tell me what it needed. I kind of questioned it and said well, it's absolutely surprising that you could do enough work that would cost that much in under an hour. And if my tenant wouldn't have known exactly how long he was there, I wouldn't be able to verify that. They were prompt. They fit me in right away. There wasn't any real option or he wasn't specific. It was shocking to me that it really did just need a little bit of a tune-up. It did not need $800 worth of work on it. That would be a whole new garage door opener. I feel like he definitely took advantage of me. He definitely was not here just to do the deal. He left me an itemized statement, but there were no left-over parts or anything left there to prove it. He had to replace things that he said he had to replace.

Excellent! I have no complaints. Very polite and hard working. Explained what he was doing as he went along.. This young man deserves a big thank you from his employer. He represented the company in a way to make the company proud. His name is Caleb. Ask for him if you need work done.

The garage medic employee was professional and on time explaining what was wrong with our garage door. He replaced all necessary parts promptly. Our garage door now works great!

Excellent service , very professional technician , on time, talked to us about the garage door we have and about the springs, which we did not have to replace, and best of all fixed the issue with no sales gimmicks. Very satisfied and will recommend and call back when needed.

It was fabulous. We also had some springs replaced and so there was some additional charge. It was easy to get appointment for them to come out. They were no issues. They were on time. They were professional and courteous.

I had so much problem with this. When I first called them I had a garage door open it was just fine it was just a tune up, which is what I paid for because it started to squeak, but it open and close fine and when I went in the garage I tune the light on it if I need to go in the garage at night it is fine and the garage didn't go up all that, that is okay. Right after like a week or two after he left it started making this really bad noise when it would go up and down like really loud click, but it worked anyway, so I didn't do anything, but then I noticed that when it was get dark I would go into the garage and they took out the light that my original garage door opener had so every time I have to go into the garage now I have to open the garage door opener and that is kind of dangerous at night. I live alone. I never noticed this until it started getting dark early over here in San Diego, so I called them, they came and one guy told that there was nothing wrong with it. I said there is nothing wrong with it at least put the light on how it was originally, I need that light, there was no proof that there was any light on this. I said wait a minute here is on and off switch to it and it had it. Anyway they said talk to my manager and they never came back. I did get a refund though when I first told them about this the big noise not a refund I got like a credit for something it was like $75 or something, which is fine. Every time I go to work I have little remote at back side of the car and I have to literally go back in the house to lock to turn the garage door over to close it doesn't close, it closes but I have to go inside the door to do it. Even last night actually I had to do it as usual I had to go inside the house when I got home from work and I turned it off I clicked it so the garage door opener would go down and I had do it three times from there. It took them two weeks to come for them after I purchased the deal. It was just for tune up and he did all day and be broke something in it and that is why I had to pay for whole new garage door opener, I sad all right just make it work and it doesn't work. I would not use them in the future.

Did not go at all they never showed up, twice!

I was very satisfied with the service.

It was fine. It was pretty expensive in the long run. I got them in the end because the door was not opening with the pad and then they replaced the pad and ended replacing a whole lot of component of the door itself. It was just a regular service call. He did his job well and that was fine. I did a get bit of shock that at the sticker price but hat was my decision to replace the springs and everything. The provider was fine.

He did an outstanding job. The technician, Ari was awesome, very thorough, helpful and informative. The deal was only $39 but he really went out of his way to provide excellent customer service. I love them and would give them A plus plus plus.

Purchased Garage Door Medics garage door tune up special through Angie's List. Also had an opener that had just stopped working. I very quickly got an email, then a call from Cynthia to schedule an appointment. Made weekday appt for technician to arrive between 12 and 4. Requested during the lunch hour if possible. Cynthia said she could not guarantee a specific time but would do their best. Technician Ryan called about 11:50 saying he would be at the house in about 20 min. Ryan arrived promptly, was very professional, thorough and helpful, making especially sure that I understood the safety features of the door. He made several attempts to fix the opener but could not, so I did purchase a new one through Garage Door Medics. All in all, excellent service!

John Kirkby showed up on time (actually tried to come early because he was done with previous call earlier, but I was unable to make it earlier), professional, and very helpful. He informed me on the various components of my garage door system since I just bought this home and didn?t know what was going on with it. He took his time to diagnose the problem and made sure that the repeated cycling of the door was spaced enough to avoid damaging the motor. In the end it was an easy fix, and I love that the solution wasn?t to buy an entire new system etc. In the future I am looking to have a third car garage that was previously not used converted back to a working third car garage door and I will absolutely go with Garage Door Medics and ask for John Kirkby specifically.
