An ever-expanding wet spot appeared on the bottom of a lower cabinet in the ground-floor kitchen of our two-story house. I talked over the problem with our usual plumber, but he was not the slightest bit interested in donning a detective's hat and finding the source of the leak. After consulting Angie's List, I called highly rated Black Mountain Plumbing. David came out very promptly and determined that the leak probably originated in the pipes in a bathroom on the second floor. He explained that to pinpoint the leak, he would have to cut through the drywall that was covering 10 feet of pipe. He then gave me an idea of the the range of potential costs for the various types of problems that he might find in the walls. When David came back to do the work, he once again arrived exactly on time. He had to cut into the drywall to find the exact source of the leak, which he then described as being "in the worst possible place." He called for reinforcements (Robert), and the two of them worked through the odd angles and awkward spacing to get the old pipe removed and replaced by a new one. Without my even asking them to do so, they also inserted barriers that would prevent further damage. David and Robert were pleasant, neat, efficient, and hard-working. I will certainly use Black Mountain Plumbing again.

John and David were excellent. Fast, efficient, friendly and honest. They fixed a number of problems in short order at a good price. Would definitely use them again in the future.

David showed up on time, introduced himself, removed items under the sink (which I usually do) without complaint, politely answered questions and did the job we hired him to do -- clear the clogs in both kitchen and master bathroom sink. While working to unclog the kitchen sink, David noted a leak caused by a broken component on our faucet. In the past we had hired a plumber who told us that he couldn't find the source of what we had noted as an intermittent leak. Helping us solve this mystery supports my saying that David's service and expertise exceeded our expectations.

Solomon was on time, introduced himself, was appropriately dressed/groomed for the job. He gave us confidence that he could do the job -- sharing his experience regarding other kitchen sink faucets he had installed. Solomon kept us updated on his progress, answered our questions, was professional, worked fast and cleaned up after himself. I find Black Mountain Plumbing prices a bit steep, but the service is great.

We couldn't be more grateful for the amazing job. I was so impressed with the courteous and professional treatment, from our first meeting with David Boyer to the final phone call when job was completed. We don't live at the residence full time so we trusted David implicitly to perform the jobs we laid out for him. And did he and Solomon E. deliver. We are so happy with the progress reports all along the way and we are so happy we could trust someone to do the job while we weren't even there. David kept us abreast of minor problems that he ran into along the way with parts recall on the recirc. pump and went out of his way to find just the right matching part for our sink repair. David called us on several occasions to let us know the progress of the job which was done very quickly and efficiently. He really thought about our project and did what was the most efficient , cost effective and best way to handle our sink issue. I cannot wait to see it all. They and everyone in the office, like Kathy, were right there for us and we couldn't be happier. Thank you all again for a great experience.

I used this company 3 times. He said he fixed the toilet flushing problem and it was fixed for a couple of days. Then it broke again. Then one of my molly maids came over to do their cleaning and she fixed the toilet. They don't do a good job. I will never use them again.

Job was great. The office and plumbers were friendly, professional, and timely. Plumber provided me with the Moen customer service phone no. that will shortly lead to a new, free faucet from Moen since the existing one in the kitchen was corroded.

Exemplary service! Their office receptionist was very helpful and friendly, gave me the cheapest quote of any of four plumbers I'd called, but also went through all the possible extra charges, and was happy to give advice on any water damage. She offered to send someone out that day, but I rescheduled for the next day, and they arrived right on time. Two plumbers came, both very friendly and professional, no mess, no fuss, and done in two hours. Charged what they quoted and were able to use the old stand, saving the cost of replacement, so they really didn't try to squeeze more $$ out of me.

I had contacted Black Mountain Plumbing regarding a leaking shower in the masters bedroom and was immediately greeted by a professional and courteous representative. The next day, they sent Robert to our house to take a look at the problem. Even before he arrived, Robert offered advice on how I can fix the shower myself. However since my first attempt was unsuccessful, I was uneasy about trying to fix it again. Robert arrived on time. Before he worked on the unit, he asked if there was anything else he would like for me to look at. I told him that we have to hold down the handle on the toilets for a few seconds to get a complete flush. He looked inside the tank and told me to cut part of the flapper and shorten up the chain. Free Advice!! This worked. I was able to fix both toilets while he worked on the shower head. Robert was friendly and professional. He repeatedly tested the shower handle to make sure it stopped and cleaned up when he was done. I would definitely contact them again for any future plumbing needs and recommend Robert and Black Mountain Plumbing to anyone.

Work went well; very professional. On time and on budget.

On December 17th we got up to find the kitchen flooded. After turning off the water to the house to stop the leak, mopping up the flood, and checking Angie's list for who to call, we called Black Mountain Plumbing. We soon talked to John who said that he wouldn't be able to get here until one or two, but would try to get here as soon as possible. We decided to go out for an early lunch. As we were settling the bill, John called to say he was on his way. I had another appointment, but my husband arrived home just before John did. John hustled to make sure that he got the initial leak isolation done in one hour. He determined where the leak was so that we didn't have to call the leak detection people. Since the leak was under the stairs and would have required dismantling the stairs to get a jackhammer in to repair it, John examined whether he could isolate the leak by capping the main hot water line that goes under the slab. He found that we would have hot water to two bathrooms and the laundry room if he capped the main hot water line to the kitchen and master bath, so that is what he did. This made the house livable while we celebrated our holidays and got the flood damage dried. After having Servicemaster dry the house and after talking to the insurance adjuster, we decided to call Black Mountain Plumbing to do the reroute of the hot water line to the kitchen and master bath. We called on December 29th, so they scheduled us for the first business day after the New Years Holiday. John and Dave came to do the reroute. They cut one hole to determine which way the ceiling joists were going, found the best route and put in our new plumbing. They put insulation on the pipes because I really wanted it. In the course of drying the house, Servicemaster found a nail in the drain from the master bath. John removed the nail and repaired the hole. Finally, John tested the water pressure and found it was too high. This warranted replacing the pressure regulator. I asked about when we could schedule that and he said that he would rather just get it done since he was at our house. We found John to be very personable and professional. I believe that he is very much about keeping the customer happy. We had more limited interactions with Dave, but he seemed personable and professional, too.

David and Solomon installed the water heater, kitchen sink mixing value and new lines, and the new toilet. Both worked very hard and at a brisk pace to get all of this done in a reasonable timeframe. They interacted well and were efficient in the division of labor. Dave is clearly the lead man with much experience to draw upon and a friendly, open demeanor. He explains things so that the "layperson" can understand them, and assured a complete cleanup was done. He is at this time looking for a new toilet for my guest bath which has an unusual configuration challenge--he took measurements and even photos to ensure he finds the right product. So yes, I would highly recommend this company...! I am very pleased with their work and look forward to working with them again.

I had some plumbing issues that needed attention. Two of the showers in my home were leaking from the tub spouts, the plumbing under the kitchen sink needed to be re-worked and I knew from a previous plumbing service call that the water pressure was too high coming into our home. I looked up the reviews on this site and Black Mountain stood out. I called and made an appointment for the next day and was given a 2 hour window. John called me about a half an hour before he arrived to let me know he was on his way. When he arrived, he tested and removed a tub spout in one of our showers and indicated that it would have to be replaced. Knowing the other shower was doing the exact same thing, he immediately ordered 2 new spouts and then proceeded to check the other issues I called on. We agreed that he would fix those when he came back to repair the tub spouts. John called a few days later at 8:00 a.m. to let me know that he was still waiting on the new spouts. I appreciated the update. The next day he called and informed me that they had arrived and we set up an appointment for 8:00 a.m. the following morning. John called me the next morning at 7:40 (again appreciated) to let me know that he and an associate were on their way and when they arrived they performed all the work in about an hours time and tested everything. I had let John know that I was a member of Angies List during his first visit and had a coupon so I got $100 off the price. I would definitely use Black Mountain Plumbing for any future plumbing issues I have.

I was nailing down a loose board in the attic, and stupidly didn't look under the board. I punched a nail hole in the pipe and water was everywhere. It was a "monday after a holiday" and it took a half hour to get a call back from the on-call person. He told me where to find the main shutoff by the curb and that he'd be there in an hour (he had to drive from another job in Oceanside.) When Kevin arrived, I showed him the problem. He quickly diagnosed it and described the repair plan. I signed the paperwork, and in half an hour later he had it all done. I was especially delighted at the 15% Angies List discount, and that he didn't charge an extra holiday rate.

I was given and estimate by the company I used to scope/inspect the plumbing when I bought the house a month ago. They said I needed to replace the main sewer line to the city because it was clay and had a sink area that was not draining (their estimate ~$4000). They sent me a video on CD that never worked in my computer. So I called Black Mountain for a second opinion (I had used them in the past for a remodel in another home many many years ago). They came out and asked if the line had been scoped before or after it had been cleaned. When they found out it had been scoped before cleaning they recommended I have it cleaned and re-scoped. They recommended a third party to do that job and said if it still needed to be done they would come out and estimate the replacement. As it turned out the sink is minor when all the tree roots were removed and is a common feature of older homes....replacement was not necessary and would even result in a similar sag in the future because of the location/terrain of the property and line. The cleaning and re-scope cost me ~$600 for the recommended third party, but that is a long way from an expensive dredging of a main sewer line.

Great Service. Easy to schedule appointment. They even tried to contact me regarding my prepaid Angie's list Deal. This is how I found out my phone number was incorrect on my membership. This was a great first impression. Most contractor's would have just hoped the deal expired. David came for the inspection. It was an honest assessment with no pressure. I will definitely use them again.

The plumber inspected the kitchen sinks that were not draining. Snake the clean out drain from outside the kitchen. When completed ran water in both sinks to make sure they drain properly.

Discovered leaky hot water heater in A.M. Called Black Mt. Plumbing, Inc. (found on Angie's List). John came out and assessed the situation and replaced the hot water heater the same day. Took the old one away and cleaned up thoroughly after working.Courteous, prompt, professional service. Honored Angie's List coupon - nice discount.

It went great. Inspection was fine and no repairs needed there. Since it was determined that the water heater was very old and draining it could cause problems, I opted for a new one. I also opted for a new garbage disposal. I was already considering these anyway, and had been putting it off, so I decided for peace of mind and just got it done. For the toilet, he first tried adjusting it instead of replacing anything (he was coming back to do the heater anyway, so this worked out fine). Since the adjustment didn't work, he needed to replace the fill valve, too. I ended up having a true leak with the dishwasher, and he came back again ASAP. The bottom line is that everything got fixed as fast and as efficiently as possible. Black Mountain is a very pleasant company to work with, and very professional. I trust them and their work.

David was very efficient and explained what he was doing. He cleaned up as he worked. I was very impressed with his professionalism and his work.

I had new counter-tops installed in my kitchen, of coarse because I had new counter-tops we needed to replace the sink, faucet and garbage disposal. My Counter-top install did not include a plumber to install the plumbing. The first plumber to come out was from the store I purchased the new sink, faucet and garbage disposal from. This would have been OK accept none of the piping lined up and it was all PVC and glued piping, so it had to be removed and re-piped from inside the wall to the garbage disposal and sink. I had three different estimates and Black mountain Plumbing was the best price and their plumber (John) seemed to be very knowledgeable. I am very please with the job they did, the customer service and workmanship were excellent!!!.

Replaced old crumbling air gap with new one. Very professional demeanor. Neat and cleaned up everything as he worked.

Overall, my experience with the owner of Black Mountain Plumbing was textbook perfect. He gave me advice and answered lots of questions. There was nothing in it for him--except he has pride in his profession and was hopeful that if he educated me a bit, that I wouldn't be taken advantage of. Very much appreciated his generosity of spirit. A good man.
