The service tech Dave was very thorough and very knowledgeable and able to communicate the issues to a level I could easily understand . He provided outstanding, honestsly priced and top quality service. As a home owner in Oceanside I can honestly say I have experienced home services on diffrent levels to include plumbing companies. However after this experience I can honestly say Black Mountain Plumbing is quite possibly the best in plumbing. If you want it done right and your plumbing tight call these guys today or tonight. I called to get an estimate and they were able to send out someone that day. That was very convenient for us as I already home. Scott came out and did an assessment, he was very knowledgeable and straightforward. The work was scheduled and Travis came out to perform the repairs. Scott did stop back by and check on the work. Travis did a great job, friendly professional and knowledgeable. Once the dry wall was repaired Solomon returned to replace the toilet the day I called. He was also very professional and friendly. They did a great job from start to finish. The were organized, professional, and friendly and we would hire them again.

We wanted a new hot water heater before our old one started leaking and causing water damage. Black Mountain Plumbing had given me an estimate over the phone for a 50 gallon water heater. They were on time for the appointment. They were very professional, fast, and knew what they were doing. The two guys who did the work (Larry & Travis) were also friendly and seemed happy while they worked - whistling, singing, and joking around, but working hard. They did a great job, gave a nice Angie's List Discount, and I would highly recommend them!

Larry, from Black Mountain Plumbing, came to our house and quickly diagnosed and fixed a leak caused by the shower valve in our bathroom. He did not charge a diagnostic fee because he located the problem very quickly. At the end of the service call he asked how we heard of Black Mountain Plumbing and I said from Angie's List. He asked if I had a coupon and when I told him I did not he waited as I went to print one out. We were very satisfied with the service and would use Black Mountain Plumbing again.

David came out on a Thursday and I walked him through the potential work. Another trade contractor had done most of the excavation, so I only had to do a little extra digging around the sewer tie in point to the existing plumbing. He explained what was needed and provided a written estimate. Black Mountain had a competitive bid (hundreds less than others) so I called their main office to schedule the work. The 15% Angie's List coupon saved me nearly $80. Travis was scheduled to come out on Monday. Travis called ahead to let us know when he would arrive. I walked Travis through the work and he promptly started to work. His truck had a rolling parts store in it and he had all the materials on hand. He completed the work in about 2 hours and explained to me the venting requirements and finish plumbing work needed after the construction was complete. I had a great experience with both plumbers visiting my project and Black Mountain Plumbing. I would gladly hire them again and they have my highest recommendation!

I noticed a leak in the system. I paid for the service. the plumber came and fixed the problem.

Overall it was a very good experience. My husband had called the company on Friday afternoon. Unfortunately, they charge double for coming out on the weekend, but we were able to get an appointment first thing on Monday. We were told that we would be charged $90 an hour, minimum, for finding the leak. Once the leak was determined, they would write up a contract for how much we would be charged to do the work, on top of the $90 digging fee. Since the leak was easy to see from the water meter box, work was begun immediately. There were no hidden surprises. Travis did an excellent job. We definitely would use their services again should the need arise.

We had a ceiling leak in the garage below a bathroom on a Sunday afternoon. I called Black Mountain dispatch and their plumber, Larry called within minutes. He got here within a hour. He found the problem (a leaky pipe at an elbow joint) and fixed it quickly. He also spent some time explaining our Life Cycle system to us and found another big potential problem. I am calling back tomorrow to have Larry come back (during regular working hours) to fix the other problem.

My old Rheem 50-gal gas water heater finally died and water was leaking onto the garage floor. My wife discovered it early so I was able to shut off the water and gas to the water heater before much damage occurred (the last time this happened a lot of cardboard boxes on the garage floor got wet and water was running out the overhead door and down the driveway). I researched replacing it with a tankless water heater, but discovered that even though the cost of the unit was not too bad I would have to increase the size of the gas line from the meter to the water heater, the air vent through the ceiling and roof, and might also have to increase the size of my electric service panel -- all of which would cost thousands more. If it had just been the cost of the tankless water heater I might have gone for it, but gas is cheap and my gas bill is small so it would only be cost effective if doing new construction. I decided to just replace it with another 50-gal gas water heater but wanted one made in the US if possible to help support our economy. I found out that Home Depot only carried GE's that are all manufactured by Rheem in Mexico, so I did a lot of on-line research, checking reviews, etc . I ended up choosing one made by Bradford White because they were highly rated by professional plumbers and are made in the USA. The cost was a couple hundred dollars more, but that's OK by me as long as this one lasts another 10-15 years. I chose Black Mountain Plumbing because it was close by, had excellent ratings on Angies List, and was a Christian-owned business. They answered all my questions about Bradford White's quality, the EF rating (for the SDG&E energy rebate), and even had an Angies List discount currently running for $100 off -- how good is that!! I did have to wait an extra day since the water heater I wanted wasn't in stock, but they sent someone out the first day anyway to remove my old water heater and prep for the following day's installation. Travis arrived on time, was very professional and pleasant to talk with as he worked. I wanted the old water inlet gate valve replaced with a 1/4-turn ball valve and was happy to find out that is what they usually do anyway. He installed a new drip pan for free (no more water on the floor when this one dies!), and also installed some earthquake straps I had previously purchased but never got around to installing. Travis also discovered that my water pressure relief valve was defective causing the pressure to be too high, which may explain two previous water leaks in the attic that I fixed myself. Since he had to replace the PRV anyway, I had him replace the house shut-off (another gate valve) next to it with another 1/4-turn ball valve, remove some water softener pipes left behind by the original owners, and move things outboard so I can get to them but finally be able to complete the "finished garage" by sealing up the gaping hole they left in the drywall -- YES!! The only problem I had was that rust and corrosion from the old water heater had gotten into my pipes so when water to the house was turned back on it clogged the faucets. I caught Travis as he was driving away and he came all the way back in to take a look, but since he was already overtime I told him I would work on it myself and call back the next day if necessary. I was able to remove the aerators and get them all working again except the kitchen faucet ($200 and you can't change the aerator??). After puzzling it for a while I finally took a piece of solid electrical wire and, with the spray head removed, stuck it up the faucet and dislodged a bunch of rust & corrosion that was stuck about 18" up the faucet. Works fine now -- but why isn't there some kind of filter in the post-water-heater line to prevent this? So I couldn't be happier. Everything's fixed with quality workmanship at a reasonable price. Had major problems getting a 10 year old faucet out of my sink for one of my rental units. The job needed to be done on the weekend and I called these guys at 11AM, received a call back at 11:45 and the work was completed by 2PM same day. Soloman was great, showed up on time and did a great job. Very happy with his professionalism and job well done. I would use these guys again in a heart beat. Highly recommend them.

First of all, let me reiterate that my review was not "bad" or negative. I did not know how to answer the questionnaire, because they have not performed the work. I tried to reschedule, but had problems getting another firm appointment. Much time elapsed, and BMP offered to come out for free. Very gracious offer! But, again, I was told to expect a return call to firm up another appointment, but that didn't happen. I would much rather have had the work done than a refund. If there is no other option, I will need to have my card credited.

I received a phonecall from my tenants that the garage ceiling was dripping water-after seeing the extent of it, I gave Black Mountain Plumbing a call. Despite being after hours (A Friday evening), they arrived within 45 minutes. Very quickly, Travis was able to figure out the cause of the problem - the shower drain from my master bath became detached from the drainpipe, resulting in a shower's worth of water ending up in the garage ceiling. (as an aside, this was due to faulty remodeling done by Remodel Works six years prior) Travis and Robert then fixed the drain, and also added metal strapping to support the drain pipe - which hopefully will help prevent a future reoccurrence.

They were available for a next-day appointment calling them at 3pm, which was great! I put in a request for a first-call appointment and worked out awesome.David called me 30 minutes before like I asked and was at the property even before me; He checked the visible plumbing and was done in about an hour, then left a report and took off. I felt very comfortable and didn't feel pushed in anyway. I liked this company and would recommend them. UPDATE: 9/21/2012 After 1 day I was in the new purchased house; that same toilet David checked that he defined slow, because of the toilet itself, backed up in the tub. I called them to let them know that something they inspected apparently was NOT ok. What they told me is that, since it was a "VISUAL" inspection and not a camera inspection they are not responsible and they wanted about $300 to come out and fix the problem. What I found out later, calling another plumber that charged me $150, later he told me: "of course the toilet was running "slow", because the plumbing was backed up!" I wonder... why do you even give "visual" inspection, to notice if any pipe is visually broken? that I can notice myself... that inspection was a waste of time and money.

I couldn't be happier with BMP! Starting with my initial phone call, Carol was very friendly and set me up with a free estimate right away. Dave called on his way to do the estimate and was able to come by earlier then expected, which worked out well. I was very pleased with how it all went. Dave answered all of my questions & explained everything clearly in terms I could understand. He was even able to fix one of the leaks right then & there at no charge! Dave came back the following week to fix the other leaks. The quality of the work turned out even better than I expected! I cannot say enough good things about Dave. He has a wonderful combination of exceptional professional expertise with a friendly, courteous and helpful demeanor. I will definitely be calling back for any future plumbing work! Thank you.

Excellent. Solomon with Black Mountain Plumbing provided excellent and very timely service. Black Mountain plumbing was able to fit in a fairly significant amount of kitchen repair work on very short notice in order to get our house ready to rent. Solomon was very friendly and professional, repeatedly taking the time to explain what work was needed and not needed.

Lawrence Keen was punctual and professional and gave me a very fair estimate and different options. I was very pleased.

Suleman came out and did an excellent job. He was professional, friendly, and did a good job.

Gave us choice of two ways to handle this with cost and then suggest the best way. Left choice totally up to us. Workers very friendly and helpful. I am horrible with names, but I believe it was John who helped us out, thank you to him!! We needed the tank replaced due to a slow leak. Tank was replaced in less than one hour and John was great he explained what to be watchful of and to keep an eye on our regulator because it may need replacing in the next couple of years. Very polite and courteous! Great job and left the garage cleaner than he found it! Thank you black mountain plumbing!

As promised, I received a call before the plumbers arrived within the previously agreed to time frame. Since a portion of the repair effort required working in the crawl space under my house, two plumbers were required for the repair. Travis and Larry explained that OSHA safety requirements mandate the present of a second plumber in case an emergency situation arose while the plumber actually doing the repair was under the house. Both Travis and Larry were experience, polite and helpful. After Larry fixed the damage drainage system (a cracked coupling was the culprit), Travis tested the house water pressure. The pressure was determined to be at an excessive level (103 PSI) and he recommended replacement of the water pressure regulator. Apparently pressure readings over 75 PSI can in the long run stress the water system components. The regulator replacement was quickly accomplished. Finally, I requested their assistance in diagnosing a water hammering problem. I would never have guessed that a ball valve could be the cause of the problem. At my request the ball valve was replaced (soldering work neatly done by Travis) and the hammering problem stopped. In summary, though not inexpensive, all the work was performed professionally and quickly. I would certainly used Black Mountain Plumbing in the future.

My Mom was out of town. I stopped by to water her garden and found her garage had turned into a steam room. The water heater had gone out and hot water was leaking everywhere. I found Black Mountain Plumbing on Angie's List. They were very accommodating with getting out to the property before my Mom's return as well as working with my schedule. Turned out the drywall stand that the water heater was on had turned to mush and had to be torn out. Kevin was very helpful in coming up with a solution that would both get the job done asap and keep costs down. The job turned out to be bigger and messier than anticipated, yet Kevin never even raised an eyebrow over the extra work. He did a great job cleaning up afterwards, too. Really great folks to work with and fair pricing.

Man, I have to tip my hat to Black Mountain Plumbing! I spoke with John and he was beyond helpful with getting someone to our home immediately. We had Travis Morgan come in. He identified the problem and confirmed where the leak was coming from. He then worked on replacing the parts. I knew that the parts we were replacing were out of date. Despite this, he did the work quickly and professionally. I can't emphasize how much Black Mountain has helped my family out with two different plumbing emergencies. They are professional, courteous and prompt. They are also attentive to customer needs. I will continue to call on this company for our plumbing needs. Thanks Black Mountain Plumbing!
