These are very nice people. They came over on time and went right to work. They sure know what they are doing! Thanks to their expertise, I did not have to hire an electrician to rewire under the sink. I was disappointed that they didn't have parts to elongate my shower head pipe, but I was very pleased with the work. I was charged $274.14, plus the Angie's Big Deal charge. Highly recommend!

Black Mountain Plumbing is impressive on so many levels. First they answered the phone at 4:00 on a Friday afternoon. SDGE had turned off our gas due to a leak and it was so nice to get a human voice that answered questions. And they did. Rich took the call, listened to my problem and directed me to John who patiently walked me through the procedure necessary to get the gas turned back on. It was complicated, involving Black Mountain finding and fixing the problem, pulling permits with the government bureaucracies involved, coordinating government inspectors and SDGE inspectors to sign off on the work and more. John explained that, due to the government offices being closed for the weekend, there really wasn?t anything Black Mountain could do for us until Monday. I knew that but he really sounded sorry that he couldn?t help sooner. Monday morning Black Mountain was on the job a few minutes ahead of schedule after calling to see if an early start was alright with us. The house is 50 years old and there were multiple problems and leaks. Robert led the repair team and it was like working with Sherlock Holmes. Robert and the team found the obvious problems quickly but went on to find some not so obvious problems like a leaky old line that ran to a long-gone spa everyone at the house had forgotten about. We had a lot of work done for $2600.00. It was a very fair price. Every step of the way Robert was aware of our budget and offered us options on the work that helped us keep the costs down. There was never any attempt to upsell us and Robert let us know when they were on or off the clock. I felt informed and educated throughout the process. I am a life-long newspaper journalist including 10 years covering business. I am used to looking for red flags that signal trouble in how a business is run. I found no red flags here. We are using Black Mountain again to replace a long overdue water heater. As long as this staff, or staff of equal quality, is in place we will be using Black Mountain. In a miracle made possible by conscientious, professional work and Black Mountain?s understanding of the SDGE and government system?s minefields we had hot water Tuesday night. Oh, and one more thing about Robert that is indicative of how this company?s employees work: There was a second water heater that was not up to code. Every city has different codes and the county has its own. Tuesday Robert fixed a venting problem on the water heater according to information from past knowledge of many city codes and input from the SDGE inspectors and the county inspector. But something was bugging him. I got a call Wednesday morning from Robert. He had gone home and spent an hour or so doing some light reading of the county codes, found the definitive setup for that venting situation and asked if we would mind if he dropped by to fix it. We said come on, he came by later that morning and fixed the vent to his exacting standards. No extra charge. Pretty cool Black Mountain. Thanks.

I called John over at Black Mountain Pluming. I didn't know the manufacturer of the fixture, so John asked me to email him some pictures. He knew the manufacturer right away. Well, John didn't stop there. He contacted the distributor, and had them ship me the new parts right away. He said "no charge". They could have made some money here, but he helped me for free instead. I still don't know how to thank him. John and Black Mountain Pluming are the best. I will call them for all my pluming repairs. Thanks John!

Same-morning service was prompt, friendly, courteous, fast and professional. I was provided with an initial estimate via email which was then finalized on site before the job began. The Angie's List coupon came in very handy! The installation is very clean and all waste was removed. They actually installed it such that it would be easy for me to replace it myself in the future. Price was reasonable and cheaper than others, but I probably could have got it a bit cheaper if I kept looking. Had a great experience, so no regrets.

I sent an email to BMP through Angie?s List requesting ballpark cost and timeframe for the pressure valve replacement. I got a call the next morning with the cost range and a same day four hour window for the one to two hour project. The guys showed up promptly within the first two hours. From the very beginning of assessing the water pressure problem to the clean-up after project completion they were very professional, communicative and friendly. Dave took the time to explain exactly what would be done and what the cost would be. He encouraged me to watch what he was doing and answered all my questions about the process. He even let me participate in some sweat soldering, which I was never able to conquer on my own. He did some additional clean-up and repair of the pipe configuration, which wasn?t really necessary, but sure looked a lot better and impressed me. When we determined that additional work was needed, he promptly amended the estimate after discussing the options that best fit my situation and budget. When they were finished, all that was left behind was my shiny, new, good-looking valves and a very satisfied customer. I have no reservations about calling Black Mountain Plumbing in the future for any plumbing needs beyond my capabilities. Thanks guys.

Came out exactly when I needed them at short notice. They were prompt and price was good. Service men were very neat, clean and worked efficiently. Recommend them to others in my area and will be using them again in the future if needed.

I read thru Angie List recommendations and found that Black Mountain Plumbing was very highly recommended for re-placing hot water heaters in San Diego area. I drove over to their office and talked to Thomas about their services, costs, warranties, availability etc. Dave (a licensed and experienced plumber) came over to my house that day, assessed requirements and found that I also had an issue with the water valve that reduces water pressure from the street to my home...and he strongly recommended that I replace that at the same time I replaced my hot water heater. I agreed and we set up an appointment. The day of the appointment, the work was accomplished By Dave B. (plumber) in about three hours...and my questions were welcomed and I was provided full explanations of everything I could think to ask from performance, possible problems, and future inspections. I was very impressed with the professionalism and courtesy of everyone associated with Black Mountain Plumbing. I am very pleased that I found them through Angie's List and I received a discount as well. I would definitely recommend them to my best friends and neighbors.

The master bath shower handle would not turn off after being turned on. I called and spoke with Scott who tried to find an employee who could come out within the next couple of hours instead of my having to wait three hours for the next two-hour block. Solomon arrived promptly. He was very courteous, professional, and thoroughly explained what was the cause of the problem. Solomon contacted his office and they had the replacement part in the shop. This saved me money and time. I am grateful. I have called on Black Mountain Plumbing in the past and will continue to have them as my go to neighborhood plumbing company.

I was trying to decide on replacing my water heater with a tankless. The company owner spent 15 on the phone explaining the difference between the two. And the man they sent out was just as complete on his explanation...the work was done on time and I couldn't be happier.

The plumber arrived on time, was very professional, found the sewer lines we were looking for, and provided the information we needed. Did an excellent job!

The advertise 24 hour emergency service. I had to call twice before someone answered the phone. Let them know it was an emergeny, noone followed up. I called because they had such a high rating on Angies List. Had I known they were not going to return the call I would have phoned someone else.

Travis came out to fix the problem of the broken pipe where the roots got in and plugged up the system. He got the roots out and fixed the pipe and all done......=). I love you guys but I can't afford you.... =). If I have an other problems I will be calling you but, I pray that I will not have any problems for a long, long, long time. Have a great day. Everything was great. My neighbor next door came over while Travis was there and watched him as he used the scope to find out if there were more roots in the pipe and found the only spot was where the problem was initially. My neighbor said that Travis was excellant to deal with.

Larry and Daniel arrived on time and made a through inspection of the 2 items for repair. They presented a fair overview of the available options, including the the minimum necessary repairs and possible extra features. They came equipped to start working immediately and were completed within 2 hours.

Great, I could have not asked for anything better.

Had water in my garage and figured it was a blocked or broken pipe. They came promptly, investigated and cleared out the sewer main. Told me why it had become clogged.

The evening of March 19th we discover a leak from the upstairs bathroom to the downstairs living room. I called Black Mountain Plumbing and the answering service promised that somebody would call me at 8 AM the next morning. As promised we got the call and in less than 2 hours the plumbers arrived. They work hard and efficiently. They found the leak in the shower wall and in the toilet plumbing. They had to dig several holes in the living room's ceiling to find the exact location of the leak. They did a great job finding and repairing the leak. They left everything clean and working perfectly.

The company called to confirm the appointment the day before and on the morning the technician was due. The technician called to advise when he was on the way. He listened to problems we had not resolved with another company. He installed a water pressure regulator on our water line from the city to reduce the pressure coming in the house that was causing leaks in our bathroom and spray from the faucet in the kitchen. The regulator corrected these issues. He then worked to eliminate the leak in the bathtub. When he removed the part from the faucet, he found a piece of plastic. The plastic was keeping water from coming through the faucet even though the water pressure to the house was too high. To ensure that he could get any others pieces of plastic from the pipes, he flushed the water. He found several more pieces that would eventually have worked their way in the pipes causing additional water pressure problems. I will contact this company again if we have future plumbing needs.uline.

John Horn was the plumber on call on a Friday evening when I found my toilet leaking. I called Black Mountain Plumbing because I received an excellent referral from a friend. John was very pleasant, respectful and courteous and not only fixed the toilet, but gave me some recommedations for others concerns I have in the house. I will surely be calling Black Mountain Plumbing in the future and asking for John as I enjoyed his top notch customer service that you just don't see too much anymore!

Black Mountain Plumbing installed a whole house water conditioning system that I provided and had it delivered. Their fee to install it was $800, $750 plus parts. I asked the guy to give me a breakdown of the actual cost, he described what parts he needed and that was less than $100, the actual per hour rate of labor came out to about $197 an hour. They were well reputed and they were recommended by the company and another company that had water treatment systems. It took him about three hours to install it and it was over $600 in labor and $150 in parts. He knew what he was doing, he was a professional, but that is an outrageous hourly rate for labor. It was about five months ago. The gentleman who actually installed the system was very knowledgable and his work was first rate. I have no qualms with the quality of work and everything else, I guess when push comes to shove, that must have been the going rate, and it's quite a deal for the installers of these systems, when I looked at another company to have them do it, they said they would do the whole job for $4,000, but if you want somebody else install it it will be $3000. Well I guess it's $1000 to have it installed. That's why I went ahead with the other guy when he said $800, it sounded like a good deal, but when you break it down it's about $200 an hour for labor because it requires somebody's expertise. The reality is you are getting paid more than an airline captain and you are getting paid as much as an Opthalmologist, getting $200 an hour for your work. That's incredible. They were everything they said they were, except they were outrageously expensive. And somebody should be aware that that is what the hourly rate is on an installation like that. It's unbelievable.

We recently moved into a house and day 1 we were having problems with the kitchen sink. After several days thinking that it was just because of the newness of everything, I finally gave up and called BMP. Larry and Daniel arrived before the time that I was quoted, which was awesome. They immediately explained what they were going to do, and got to work. After trying several things and things not moving, they finally figured it out, and were very nice to keep me informed of everything they were doing. I would definitely call them again, and I have already told my brother who lives close to where you guys are located about you guys, and he will be calling you if/when he has an issue. Thanks so much for the great work, and getting someone out to me so quickly. With 2 kids the dishes pile up pretty quick! I called at 2:30pm and they had someone out to me before 4pm.
