The man answering the phone was jovial and reassuring. I was anxious and needed someone fast and he said he will send an electrician who has been in the business for over 10 years and had a good nose for detecting problems (not his exact words) - which is exactly what I needed to hear. The electrician came out the next day and after inspection told me that everything looked good. And he found the reason why the garage light stopped coming on and explained to us why and rectified the problem. The electrician seemed young, but knowledgeable, and took his time answering all our questions. The price wasn't too bad but I give it a "B" because it was more than I'd like to have spent.

As stated above The work was ok, But I felt he should not charge a $48.00 service charge when Hire him to do the work. And I was not told about the service charge until all the work was done. After submitting my negative report about the company, the owner contacted me and made everything right by sending a refund check to me for $48.00. I have updated the grades and I am now a happy customer.

We had new roof put on a duplex apartment building. In doing the new roof, the electrical service had to be removed. Beck Electric came out on short notice and reconnected the electrical service. Good job.

The electrician gave us a really good estimate, he really knew what he was doing, he didn?t try to oversell, he was very accurate with the estimate, and his employees are professional.

True professionals - lived up to their reviews and ratings on the web from start to finish. - Work evaluation and estimate was quick and prompt, thanks to Martin. - Proof of license and insurance were provided together with the proposal - shows their their passion towards their profession. - Work started on dot, executed methodically and completed in time (about 6-hours total) by the lead tech Miguel. Templates were installed to mark the locations of the recessed lighting fixtures and we reviewed/adjusted it as need. - A good quality bath fan was installed. - Minimal drywall cuts, minimal power interruption, 0% damage to other aspects of the property, clean-up after work. Overall - couldn't have been better. Job well done and well commended. We know where to go for our electric work in future.

It well very well. Martin timely showed up to give an estimate (the Smart car is a nice touch). Booked a date/time for the installation to integrate with the A/C installer's schedule. Installation was done by one of the employee's, quickly and professionally. The price was a little off-putting, but I guess that's just what you have to pay. (By contrast, we had been using another contractor for occasional jobs, and their final costs were invariably 2 to 3x's what they quoted. In view of those experiences, Martin's quote -- and sticking to it -- was welcome relief.) I had pulled electrical and mechanical permits for the A/C installation, and the electrical inspection went fine except that I had not obtained from Martin a "circuit card," which is a form indicating the type of materials installed and the name/contact info of the installer. The inspector needed this before he would sign off on the inspection, so I contacted Martin and he dropped a completed form off at our home. BOTTOM LINE -- Beck Electric is at the top of my short list for electrical needs. I will be calling Martin again before long with more work. WORD OF WARNING IF YOU HAVE PULLED A PERMIT YOURSELF -- Make sure you let your installer know and get whatever paperwork from them that you will need for a completed inspection.

I trust him. His rates are reasonable and he does good work.

He worked very slow. He charged me by the hour so I felt he made sure he was there at least an hour and a half. I figured that out afterwards and that annoyed me.

He arrived right on time, after calling me from his previous job to let me know that he was on the way. He replaced the unwanted timer switch with a dimmer in one outlet and installed a second dimmer in another panel. He worked neatly and efficiently while, at the same time, being very personable. I thought that the price was very fair and I would definitely call Martin for all of my electrical needs.

Martin did an in-person assessment and e-mailed an estimate to us the next day. Miguel arrived on time and completed all the work in one day. He is fantastic - friendly, professional, and highly skilled. We could not be happier with the service Beck Electric provides. They have done lots of work at our home over the past three years and we never think to call anyone else.

We Paid Martin Beck of Beck Electric $2,500 to install a new 200A service panel and to run wire to support the current load for an A/C unit in March 2007. He chose to install a 30A Disconnect and Breaker running 10 gauge wire 100ft. The Manufacture?s Nameplate calls for a 40A fuse, and he should have ran 8 gauge wire not 10 gauge. Thus, the A/C disconnect and breaker tripped numerous times during very hot and cold temperatures; ultimately causing the large compressor to fail, which I paid $800 to replace! I got three different estimates to replace the compressor and every A/C company said that one of the reasons the compressor failed was due to the breakers tripping, and the system being starved for Amps. Trane also confirmed this. Martin tried telling me that he only needed to provide the minimum coverage (125%) of the FLA, but he should have known that section 440.2 of the NEC specifies that he needed to provide overcurrent protection to the unit (MOP). This is also discussed in numerous websites. He quoted me $820 to re-do his work. He said he always goes by the manufactures nameplate, but it clearly says 40A are needed on it (MAX. FUSE AMPS 40), or doing simple math to calculate the MOP (Maximum Overcurrent Production) he could have determined that also. I am requesting that he refund me $820, which I will use to install a single throw 60A Disconnect (w/40A fuse), run 8 gauge wire from the panel to the disconnect, and install a 40A breaker on the panel. Mr. Beck was prompt in responding to a request for an appt. to get a quote to upgrade the kitchen circuits in a mid 1950's era house. After he looked things over, he explained various ways of dealing with the circuitry in an older home, as without opening up the walls, he could not be sure of what his crew would be dealing with. We chose him based on his experience with older homes, and his ability to think on his feet and come up with solutions. On the day of the appointment, Miguel showed up on time. He put in a straight 8 hours, was efficient, organized, and courteous. He was also very neat, and made the smallest openings possible when and where it was necessary to cut open the walls, and cleaned up after himself. All in all a nicely done, professional job, we will continue to use Beck Electric for the rest of the house.

Martin came to our house, gave us an estimate for the work we wanted done and made an appointment for the actual work. He gave us a nice little review of electrical principles as he explained how the work needed to be done. He and his apprentice, Nicole, showed up on time for the appointment and did all of the work except a breaker they did not stock for our particular electrical panel. His apprentice returned as agreed and installed the correct breaker. He did all the work needed for the agreed upon price and we are very happy with everything they did. Martin and Nicole were both very professional and pleasant to work with. We will certainly be calling Martin in the future for all our electrical needs.

Overall, the electrical and lighting work was very well done. They did try to patch the holes in the wall/ceiling and they cleaned up after themselves at the end of the day.

Martin Beck came out to provide an estimate and then scheduled the work. On the day of the work, Miguel called an hour ahead of time to provide a heads up. When he arrived, he quickly and carefully brought in his tools and ladder. He covered the area with towels and cloths to prevent debris from getting everywhere. He explained everything as he worked when I was around. If I was in another room, he would come to ask for my approval on the location of the light and the outlet. He explained everything, for example, how the GFCI outlet was wired in the garage and the difference in the one he installed. He also explained how to change the light bulbs in the light he installed. He cleaned up after his work, and he was very fast at the work. Overall, I would say it was a very professional job, and I had no worries at all.

Miguel from Beck Electric showed up on time and was very professional and thorough. I had originally planned on installing 5 can lights, but due to the layout of the ceiling construction, only 4 could be installed. Beck had come in with the low bid, and since one light wasn't installed, they lowered the price by $75. Work looks great, I would use them again!

He put a 15amp line to our garage with an outlet so that I could connect an electric kiln there. He was very personable and explained things very well. The job went off very well without any problems. I had gotten estimates from two others but he found a cheaper and smarter way to do the same job. This made his price more competitive. Further, he did the job without unnecessarily disrupting the yard. He sneaked the wire through an existing conduit to the garage. He did a good job. He came when he said he would come and did the job when he said he would do it.

It went great. John is the tech and he was great to work with.

Miguel and Martin were fantastic, from the estimate to the final job. They were prompt, made sure they had all the right switches to match my current ones. The work was done quickly and based upon 2 other estimates was right on track.

All went well and as expected. The tech got to the house on time and kept the area clean.

The project was a breeze, and affordable. Since he had to come back twice (my fault, wrong light) he did not charge me for a service call twice.

They did a good job. I'm very pleased with the work that they did. We're actually going to give them a call back to do some more work for us here soon.
