The experience with them was good. I spent less than a thousand dollars on their services. They were very good with price. I will use them again in the future.

I took out the recessed fluorescent and I had him do the window ceiling. I did not just have the lights, where I have the box underneath, I had him level the ceiling and put in the lighting. He did a great job. In fact, I wish I had done it earlier. He was in and out in about four hours. It’s like wow night and day. I was very pleased with him. I would consider using him in the future if needed.

The crew was a few minutes late in arriving, but got straight to work. They laid down plastic to protect my floor. The work took less than 3 hours. I'm impressed that this company has found its niche, and I can't imagine that anyone else could do the job more efficiently or professionally. The result is a huge improvement to my kitchen. I especially liked that I could get the estimate by email. It was so convenient and I think the price was right.

Went well. We received a quote over the phone and email. Then booked the job, they showed up, did their thing and left It only took one day and looks great.

The workers showed up on time. Did the work in the time they said they would. Did a fine job installing 6 6" recessed lighting with crown moulding. They also did a great job matching the orange peel texture coat. Would highly recommend. I rarely write a review.

His installer showed up on time and everything was done quickly and professionally. The only thing is, we did have a little bit of an issue with one of the dining room lights, and the outdoor light blinks once in a while. Overall, very good, his whole team was great to work with.

they showed up later than scheduled. Although they worked quickly to get the job done and did mask and cover the area in the kitchen to protect things, they did not take care in putting the old fixtures in the back yard where I told them too. They broke two of the fluorescent tubes from the old fixtures and did not clean up the broken glass from the tubes. They did not tell me that the tubes were broken. I found out when I went out in the back yard with my dog. I had to clean up the glass and chemicals from the broken fluorescent tubes so that the back yard would be safe for my dog. I also felt that the price for what they did was a little high. Because of this I went to someone else to have can lights put in two other rooms.

Michael Dove's employees (2 of them) arrived right on time (7:00 a.m.) even though they had to travel about 66 miles one way. It only took them 2.5 hours to complete the kitchen lights. They cleaned up after themselves, were extremely pleasant, and professional. They returned the next afternoon to complete the bathroom lights which only took them 1.5 hours. Excellent experience with this company. We did get two estimates and their price was about $1,000 lower than the other company's. I would recommend them to anyone -- beautiful job. Oh what a difference light makes!

Mr. Dove came to look at my kitchen ceiling before the work was scheduled. He explained the whole process, and we agreed upon the work to be done. The price quoted was the same as advertised in the special offer I had seen. I did elect to add a few more lights, and Mr. Dove said they could also fix some damaged drywall in the ceiling. That would be $150 extra. On the day the work was scheduled, three men came on time. They worked quickly and professionally during the whole procedure. Protective coverings were placed on the floors, cabinets, and appliances. The old lights were dismantled, holes were cut in the ceiling for the new lights, new wiring was put in, and the lights were installed. The old damaged drywall was repaired so well you can't even see where the problem used to be. I got the free moulding. Measurements were incredibly precise. The entire ceiling was retextured so it looks really nice. When the work was finished, they cleaned everything and removed the trash. It took less than six hours, and the results are outstanding. I did have to repaint the ceiling myself--that was not included in the price. I had been afraid the cannister lights might have the effect of spotlights in the room, and had been warned that the new light might not be as bright as the old ones. That was not the case. I get strong even light throughout the kitchen. I'm extremely happy with my decision to have this done.

They did a good job. It was fine with me. They were on time. It was a very clean work. They had all the plastic and everything in place. They knew what they were doing so it was quick and I did not have to ask them to do anything different or anything special. It was more like I left them alone, they did the job, took the money and went away. To an extent, for the matter of safety I should say they were not using any test mats or anything while they were doing the work. I would expect them to be safer. It was not a commercial issue but something the company needs to take care for its employee. The overall experience was excellent. In terms of price, they were competitive. In terms of quality, the little bit of work that I had, I thought I would get it done from them, in the grand scheme of things; it was a small thing that I could do it myself, so it was ok. In terms of punctuality, they were very good. They were on time, no questions asked; they even rescheduled one of their appointments for me. I think they did a fine job. If I needed to do something, I would surely use their services again in the future.

I did not use them as I got a better price with someone else. I wouldn’t call them again in the future for a quote.

I was referred to Kitchen Lights by Michael J. Dove by my parents. They had recessed lighting installed in their kitchen and bathrooms recently. Their kitchen and bathrooms look awesome with the recessed lighting versus the florescent lighting. With their endorsement and actually seeing the quality of work that had been performed for myself, I decided to call them for an estimate to do my kitchen. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Dove personally came to my condo and gave me an estimate. He gave me a couple different options based on my budget and a couple weeks later I called them to arrange for them to install the recessed lighting in my kitchen. The crew that came to my place were very nice, on time, hard working and fast. They arrived around 8:00 a.m. and left at approximately 11:30 a.m. When they first arrived, they began by masking off everything. Then, they removed the existing lighting and installed the new. Then, they cleaned up once the project was completed. I was very impressed with how professional and neat the crew was that came to my place. Eventually, I am going to have other rooms in my place done and will definitely use Kitchen Lights by Michael J. Dove. I highly recommend using this contractor. Shera Cather

Called and set appointment for estimate. Owner was in area and actually did estimate earlier in the day by looking through my kitchen window. Job scheduled for two days later and was completed in two hours. Looks good and seems well done though you are left with painting your new ceiling and crown molding.

The men showed up at the time they said they would be here. Overall I was very happy and satisfied with Michael J. Dove Lighting. I would recommend them to everyone I meet who wants recessed lighting.

The two contractors from Michael J Dove where professional, quick and cleaned up efficiently. I would use them again and highly recommend them.

Michael's crew (Ryan & Blake), arrived as scheduled and went straight to work. First, they sealed off the kitchen area with plastic sheeting to protect the rest of the house from dust and dirt. They removed the old ceiling panels and framework, removed the existing florescent lighting, patched any holes that were in the ceiling and installed 5 recessed lights. They do not paint, but make it ready for painting. It took less than 3 hours to complete the project. After the work was completed Ryan and Blake cleaned and swept the area thoroughly. We are very pleased with the results and would highly recommend Kitchen Lights by Michael J. Dove. Ryan and Blake were great. They were very professional and courteous.

We had the ceiling lights in our kitchen replaced with canister lighting and crown molding. It is beautiful and transformed the kitchen area. We took advantage of a special advertised in the San Diego Union Tribune. Michael, the owner, came to do the estimate. The workers were professional and courteous. The ceiling and crown molding are finished as "paint ready", but this still requires the homeowner to do caulking and sanding of the joints prior to painting. Would I use them again and recommend them. Absolutely!

I saw the flyer in Clipper magazine about 7 months ago and called this company (twice) and left messages. No response. I saw them on Angie's List and decided to try again, given their high ratings/grades. I emailed them through Angie's List. No response. I called and left another voicemail saying that I saw them in Clipper magazine as well as Angie's List. No response. That's four attempts. Even if we ARE out of their service area, which we are not since I've read Angie's List reviews from clients in Fullerton (which is a 3-minute drive from us -- literally across the street from us!), an email or a simple call back saying that the didn't service our area would be fine. I was curious as to why this company got such great ratings, though. So I googled them and found a website posted by a disgruntled client who also included pictures of the unfinished work and a detailed description of the botched job and the unresponsive nature/attitude of the company. I'm mystified as to how this company got an A rating on Angie's List? How can you possibly ignore 4 attempts by the same person who is looking to hire you?

They were absolutely excellent. They were punctual, neat and their work was excellent. I was very satisfied with the result.

there were some scheduling issues with the estimate that were somewhat frustrating, but once he got there, the estimate took only a few minutes (both of us work so people being on time and being efficient so we can get to work is important) The work was completed in one day and was excellent. No mess and looks terrific.

It went very well. First, they covered everything in the kitchen, and then tore out the box and lights. They textured the area, and added the recessed canned lights and crowned moulding. The crew left everything clean, and it looked great!
