Dave Mattea Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning

We have had our carpets cleaned several times by larger well-known companies. Usually several spots remain and the rugs stay damp for many days. Dave gave us an estimate over the phone, after we explained how many rooms needed cleaning [all carpeted areas of house, including steps]. He told us that he would do a good job, at a fair price, so that we would want him to come back again. He arrived on time, measured square footage, and gave us a final cost, which was very close to his original estimate. He did a fantastic job. He removed spots that had never been removed before by other companies. The carpets were completely dry within hours. We were so pleased that we asked him if he had time to clean a sofa (for an additional charge), which he did. The sofa looks like new. It also dried very quickly. We have recommended Dave to our friends and we will definitely have him come back.

He did an impeccable job and explained the benefits of simple soap and water cleaning . I was utterly surprised at how clean our stairs were. We have ivory carpet on the second floor and it looked virtually new. I also asked about scotch guard and he basically said it was a waste of money, so we saved on that. I would recommend him to our friends and definitely plan on using him again for our regular cleanings. We was prompt (actually early), professional, and courteous.

The experience was great. It went wonderfully. He was very prompt in returning phone calls and setting up appointments. I would use him again and recommend him in the future.

I do not remember the price, but I thought it was very reasonable. My cat had even used the easy chair as a litter box and I was going to throw it out, but he cleaned it well and saved it. He did an excellent job and was a nice guy. He even came the same day I called. I would use them again in the future and recommend them to others.

I am very satisfied with the service: on time, professional, thorough and good quality. I've done a little survey getting the estimates from the A-rated companies. My conclusion is that Dave's services are slightly cheaper than the average estimate I was getting. You can probably find somebody cheaper but this is still a good bet in terms of price/quality.

Dave was very responsive and gave a rough estimate over the phone, explaining that there was some variation depending on the fabric so he would be able to give a more precise number in person. He arrived a few minutes early the morning of the appointment, quickly confirmed the estimate and gave me a discount because of the size of the job. He explained what needed to be done and answered our questions thoroughly. Once we gave him the go ahead, he moved steadily through the house and completed the work in about 3 hours. Everything is still drying as I write this, but it looks like he did a great job. His equipment is fairly new and very effective. Before he left he urged me to call him back if there was anything we were not satisfied with. He is clearly very intent on doing a great job for his clients, explaining to me that he is interested in establishing a long term business relationship. His price was very reasonable and I felt we got very good value for the money. Unlike many contractors who do business in this neighborhood, Dave looks for ways to reduce your bill, not inflate it. He even did a couple of extra rugs that I had forgotten to include without charging any more. He is definitely on my call back list the next time I need things cleaned.

Dave came to the house on time. He looked over the rooms to be cleaned and gave us an estimate. He started the job right away and was very clean, careful, and very neat in working throughout the house. He was also very careful that his equipment did not damage or mark any walls or furniture or scratch any wood. He did a superb and got our carpet cleaner then it has ever been. The carpet looks brand new. We will definitely use him again. He was very polite and informative.

Dave was extremely responsive, making an appointment for an estimate quickly. In giving me his estimate he was clear about some stains on the upholstery that might not come up and also possible issues with cleaning chairs with old brocade fabric. He understood my wishes and did a fabulous job. He was able to remove all stains on the carpeting (and true to his word, the carpeting was fully dry within 24 hours or less). He did an exceptional job on the upholstery, particularly considering the age of the fabric on two of the chairs. He took great care to clean some old soiled areas without damaging the fabric and checked with me as to my satisfaction with his results. Dave gave me options when further cleaning might totally remove an old spot, but could damage the fabric. He arrived on time, worked efficiently, and is very personable. I plan to use him again in the future for periodic cleaning. His pricing is reasonable and his work is superior.

I had gotten the carpets cleaned by Coit and they used a portable unit which left the carpets more dirty than ever (1-year-old carpets). Dave was fantastic. He ran the hoses from the truck up into the building and explained all his equipment to me. I have never seen the carpet that cleaned. He even moved furniture and the bed. He was a bit late but called me several times with a status of how soon he could get to my home. He was very nice, thorough and I felt comfortable with him in my home. His estimate was very reasonable. I think Dave is great and would highly recommend him to anyone.

Dave was prompt and provided an estimate over the telephone. At that time he suggested that we could have more cleaning done for the price because $75 was his minimum. We just had him clean the one chair. On the day of the appointment, he called to see if he could come early. We agreed and he arrived shortly thereafter. He was courteous and efficient. When finished, he said to call if there were any problems whatsoever. As it turned out, there were a couple of white spots that appeared when the chair dried. We called and he promptly returned and corrected the problem. We were satisfied with his explanation of how the spots appeared. We are very satisfied with the final result and would certainly use Dave again for any upholstery cleaning.

He gave an estimate over the phone and gave a time estimate. He showed up on time, and his cost and time estimate were right on. He was very friendly and did a good job cleaning. Our upholstery was very dirty and he made it look almost new. The price was reasonable, and he made sure I was satisfied with his work. I was very pleased and would hire him again.

My first impression of Dave over the phone was that he was a very honest guy. This proved to be true when he said he'd show up on time and then he showed up on time. (No waiting like I do for the cable guy!) This also proved true when he told me over the phone that if his estimate was too high he would let me know and charge me appropriately. When Dave arrived we realized that I over-estimated my square footage so the estimate over the phone was $75 higher then it would actually cost. Dave told me this and adjusted the fee. Although you would expect all businesses to lower the estimate if it's too high--we all know that's not how things work. Because Dave is honest and friendly I never worried about paying more then a fair price. In short, both my husband and I were very happy with Dave's work. We've already given Dave's number to 2 different friends who were shopping for carpet cleaners and will continue to do so.

Again, I was very impressed and asked to be a repeat customer each summer. He pretreated the spots and cleaned thoroughly. He had me check after one room to make sure I was happy with the effect. My carpets are nineteen years old and worn. They are still worn, but they definitely look clean now. Also, the carpets are not sopping wet from too much water. While I was writing a check at the end, he took a phone call from a customer from yesterday who was calling to say how pleased she was. She pre-booked an appointment for six months from now. I know how she feels, it is hard to find the right company and when you do, you know to come back!

I called Dave and got an estimate for the carpets. When our appointment time arrived, Dave was on time and ready to go. He actually charged less than his estimate as he said there was less carpeting to clean than he had thought. After talking with Dave, we decided to add scotch guarding onto our service. While working, Dave was very careful not to leave too much moisture on our hard wood floors. When Dave was done, he carefully pointed out the few spots that didn't come as clean as he would have liked. It looked goo to us! My husband enjoyed checking out Dave's hot new carpeting rig too.

We were amazed at the quality of Dave Mattea's work. Our carpets look new again. I couldn't believe the difference between his results and the results of the other, more expensive companies we have used. He does all the work himself, which may explain his great prices and pride of workmanship. He is a real "find."

We have white carpet, a cat and a preschooler, and the stairs and child's bedroom get especially dirty. Dave does an excellent job with the carpet. He's quick to set appointments, arrives very promptly, and is friendly and accommodating with kids and pets. I very highly recommended him.

Dave is very prompt, professional, and honest - he was very upfront with us about the difficulties involved in trying to remove the scent of cat urine, and offered to return to re-spray certain areas if one spraying wasn't enough. The cleaning he performed was very thorough, and we felt that the price he charged was more than fair. I got the sense that Dave thrives on ensuring his customers are satisfied, and we definitely were! I wholeheartedly recommend his service for upholstery and carpet-cleaning jobs.

He worked quickly and came at a time/day of my choice. He gave an estimate first after looking at the scope/dirtiness of the work. He informed me of possible outcomes. He cleaned a third of one cushion to see if I wanted to proceed with the cleaning. He pointed out spots - discoloration - that would be resistant to cleaning.
