Description of Work: I have used Terminix for many years for pest control. Their work is outstanding and their servicemen are polite and accommodating. Their prices are competitive with other companies.

Description of Work: They closed up areas of the house that were allowing mice to invade the house. It appears they were able to identify possible openings and sealed them. The methods and material used seemed up to the task. They went under the house (crawl space) and the attic. The proof will be no mice. Terminix says they should gone in a couple of weeks.

Description of Work: Repeatedly failed to show up to finish work barely started..calls to terminax supervisors were unresponsive...work never completed and had to have another company finish work. when a terminix supervisor called back we were told repeatedly that out bill was adjusted off since the work was not done.. Instead, they sent it to collections! Registered letter to corporate office got the bill resolved. Would not recommend to anyone on Monterey peninsula

Description of Work: I did not hire Terminix through Angie's List, but decided to reply to this questionnaire due to the fact that I have been a regular Terminix customer for several years. I have been pleased with their service and have not looked elsewhere for pest control. When I first contacted them in or around 2007, I found their pricing to be competitive with other companies. I have only had general pest control - no termite or other specialized services. The technicians have always been friendly and professional.

Description of Work: insects and rodent control......before terminex we ALWAYS had ants in the house..it has been YEARS(since starting with Terminex) since I have seen even one ant inside.

Description of Work: An inspection was scheduled by the office for a Saturday, which I liked as not all service providers work on Saturday. However, the representative who was slated to perform the inspection called me to state the office had booked him in another city on the same day and time. He offered to rescheduled, but I declined. I realize this was out of his control. My schedule is very tight and it didn't set well with me. The main office didn't call to explain or apologize.

Description of Work: Terminix fumigated for termites and performed soil treatment. Everything was on time. My only complaint is that some of their practices were unprofessional. They damaged my fence, used my ladder and left it dirty, trampled landscaping, and pulled up rocks and my brick edging to use to hold down the edges of their tent because they did not bring enough of their own weights.

Description of Work: Terminex was very easy to work with and careful with my plants (which were already pulled away from the house). The company does not subcontract and I felt the workers were doing a good job protecting the house and property. They even pulled out a bottle of vitamins I had overlooked.would use them again. PB

Description of Work: I had a carpenter ant infestation in my roof. I called two pest companies -- Orkin and Terminix -- and contacted one in Santa Cruz County (name that escapes me but they promote themselves as environmentally friendly) via a live web chat. Orkin's call center representative was not knowledgeable about eradication of carpenter ants but I went ahead and scheduled an appointment. They never showed. I then engaged in a web chat with the Santa Cruz company that was hopeless with the person on the other end evading my questions about their experience with eradicating carpenter ants - just kept pushing for an appointment. Ended the chat in frustration.. Three's a charm. In contrast to the other two companies, the Terminix call center understood the pest and scheduled a consultation appointment which was kept. After the home inspection, Terminix recommended tenting to kill the infestation (whihc made sense given my roof) and a regular pest service to keep the carpenter ants at bay following the tenting. The tech also discovered dry rot terminites and odiferous (SP?) ants on the property. The tenting was scheduled and kept within 48 hours of the tech consultation. One warning -- read the Terminix contract carefully. Terminix offers a one-year guarantee on tenting, but in my contract, had specifically excluded carpenter ants in the contract (the reason for the tenting). I had the tech call his manager as he claimed he did not know how to amend the guarantee. His manager consented and apologized (sixth sense tells me that had I not called Terminix on this prior to tenting, I would have been up creek so to speak). Terminix has you sign an electronic screen on a device agreeing to terms BEFORE printing out a copy of the contract onsite for your review. So buyer beware and read the exclusions. A couple of comments. Terminix subcontracts work to a San Jose based pest company. That company did not use basic safety procedures recommended by Dow Chemical (manufacturer of vikane, the deadly gas used in the tenting). Tear tear gas is supposed to be introduced into the home prior to vikane. This forces any living critters -- like a cat or child hiding -- to come out of the home prior to the deadly gas. This was not done. The company also did not use CalOSHA worker safety procedures. The men placing the tent on the top of my steep A frame house did not wear harnesses or any other safety gear as promised by Terminix. All I could do was hope that they wouldn't fall off the roof and wonder whether a fall would be on my insurance carrier or theirs. Finally, though minor, the tenting service includes removal of cobwebs from inside the home; they didn't perform this service. The company also was greatly delayed on the day of the tenting and the day of removing the tenting -- missing the appointment windows by 2-3 hours. On the positive, the tenting team was professional, friendly, fast and competent. Damage to landscaping was minimal and they did replace stepping stones, etc. that had to be removed during the tenting. To end on a positive note, the Terminix representative, Felipe, that sprayed the outside of my home just prior to tenting was very professional, courteous, prompt and thorough. A+++.
