We hired Geremia because of their strong reputation and because a positive experience with them 5 years ago in El Dorado Hills. They designed a nice little pool for our nice little house. When we were ready to start the job, the problems started: 1. We wanted to move the equipment pad to a new location. After first saying yes, Geremia then said no, and told me that I would need to go downtown and get approval from the city to do it. 2. Geremia changed the design (very slightly) of our pool without asking us first. When we asked them about it, they said it was because there were problems with the underground utility pipes. It would have been nice for them to call and tell us before doing this. 3. Geremia broke our sidewalk with the Bobcat. They denied doing it, then admitted it, and told me that they weren't responsible for it. They eventually gave me a change order to repair it, which they still have not done. 4. The plastering in the pool was terrible. Calcium deposits accumulated along the sides and across the bottom, making it look awful. Geremia told us that it was our fault, because we hadn't done enough sweeping (we followed their instructions exactly), and because we hadn't properly maintained the chemicals in the pool (again we followed their instructions). They eventually (2 months later) came out and acid washed the pool to fix the plaster. But this was after many phone calls and discussions about whether it was a problem, and whose fault it was. The team we worked with from Geremia was not pleasant at all. We were the ones spending the money, and yet they constantly make us feel as if we were being the problem. Geremia had a different person call us each time, making it very difficult to know who was responsible for anything, or who was our point of contact. We never felt like they wanted to "make things right" for us; only that they wanted to finish the job, take our money, and leave. So they did.

Originally, I believe we were told the job would take about 2 to 4 weeks. After we signed the contract, we were told it would take 4 to 6 weeks. We should have had the schedule in the contract but didn't. It actually took months to complete. When it was done, they had forgotten to put a step in the spa that was called for in the contract and offered to make it up by doing some additional minor work. John Geremia, the supervisor, seemed genuinely concerned about the error on their part, and tried hard to figure a way to put a step in that didn't require replastering the spa. He also was not satisfied with some brickwork done by their staff had it taken out and redone at their expense. I hadn't even noticed the problem, but it did look much better when redone. Generally, the work they did was of high quality and the replacement exposed aggregate matched the existing decking very well.

After three weeks of being told that they would "be there tomorrow" someone finally arrived. That was the last time. Called every week to let them know that no one was showing up. A month after I cancelled service, someone showed up at my door. They actually sent me a bill for a month's service.

IT TOOK THEM TWICE AS LONG TO DO THE WORK AND COST TWICE AS MUCH MONEY AS THEY HAD SAID IT WOULD COST. THERE IS A LEAK IN THE WATERFALL AND THEY HAVE NOT YET COME OUT TO FIX IT. THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM.

THIS COMPANY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB. THEY WERE QUICK AND EFFICIENT AND VERY ORDERLY WITH ALL THAT THEY DID. OUR POOL LOOKS BEAUTIFUL AND WE LOVE WHAT THEY HAVE DONE TO IT.
