Tony and his crew were great to work with! He was responsive to our numerous calls and was patient and understanding when we made changes throughout the project. Very few issues arose, but with the few concerns we had-he came over immediately to check and find solutions. His job site was well contained, which made it much easier to live in our house during construction. Along the way, he broke down costs and helped us figure out ways to save money here and there in order to add the extra things we wanted. We really appreciate how he listened and created our perfect bathroom at a cost that was reasonable. We love our new bathroom-especially the 2 person shower and heated floors!! Highly recommend!

Provider was unavailable when I initially needed work done. I understood because of the circumstances but then as the coupon was closer to the end date he just never responded to any inquiries about scheduling work. Did not respond to repeated emails or Phone message. This was a Total rip off. I would not recommend using this contractor EVER and would definitely not recommmend buying one of ANGIE LIST "DEALS"

Nothing was done that first day. We did eventually find something for Roseville Construction Company to do but there was some communication issues and the timing for both us and the company were not aligned. We would have loved for him to do some work for us and would certainly consider him for future projects
Description of Work: LAST CHANCE! $299 for a General Contractor for a Full Day - Buy up to 5! We initially had a project in mind for them to do. But they couldnt do it so we walked around the property to try and find something else.

This was a great experience. I love these guys. We bought our house in late march and had non stop problems with the other contractor- delays, no communication, etc. However, with Tony & his crew there services were excellent. Tony was constantly in touch with me. He texted, called, emailed. There were no surprises. He even helped with other work in the house...during hardwood install in a different part of the home, the other guys nicked a pipe & started a leak.... When I contacted Tony to look into it, he had his plumber repair it right away. Then there was a beam with dry rot that had made the floor unstable in the living room, again Tony was able to have it repaired the next day....And all of tony's prices were very fair & more than reasonable. The most comforting part was that I was in Canada for a family emergency but I did not for a moment feel like I was unaware of the status on the home. Tony updated me as to when they were coming & what were the accomplishments of that day. Also, he was great about allowing for minor modifications on some items discussed in the contract. I will definitely use them again(still need a couple more bathrooms remodeled and a lot of other work done in other parts of this older home).

I purchased the Big Deal and totally lost track of it. Approximately ONE WEEK after the coupon expired, I discovered it while cleaning out my emails. I immediately sent the service provider an email on 10/17/13 asking if he could still honor the coupon. The service provider said he needed to check (with Angie's List I guess) and get back to me. I did not hear from him for a few weeks, I then sent him another email on 11/15/13, saying that I hadn't heard from him. He then responded on 11/16/13 stating that he could not honor the coupon because he can no longer get the carpet and offered me credit. Am I to believe that if I had called one week earlier, he would have been able to obtain the carpet? He has offered me credit towards carpet, but that makes me wonder what kind of carpet he can now obtain? Was he offering a lower quality carpet during the promotion? I did not respond to him after that. Please issue me a refund, because I just don't trust this service provider to provide a quality product. Thank you.

I wasn't satisfied with the service. The plumber couldn't fix the problem and he referred us to another company. I didn't get back the amount I paid. I wasn't there. He came in, looked at the problem and said, "I can't fix it" He told us to call Ace Plumbing and he left. Ace came by and said it was a simple problem and fixed it. I had to pay two plumbers.

We had a great deal of difficulty getting in touch with Tony, the owner, and even more difficulty getting him out to our home to provide a bid. He promised to provide a bid within a few days. After a month of not hearing from him and not receiving a bid, we gave up and asked for a refund. Several weeks later, Tony called to say that Angie's List wouldn't provide a refund, because the coupon had expired (Angie's List said, this isn't true and furthermore, there was no evidence in our account that Tony had contacted them about this).

[removed members name], I did contact [removed AL employee name and contact information], he did explain to me that the Big Deal promotion Value was expired and could not be refunded by Angie's List but that the value, $598.00 was still available and you could use it at anytime as it never expires. The following is directly off of the Big Deal Advertisement: "Promotional value of coupon expires 6 months from date of purchase. Coupon value never expires" Your purchase date was 2/22/13 and thus the Promotional Value expired on 8/22/13 As I explained in my voicemail I will still honor the entire value of the coupon at any time for any work. I did not lie to you or anyone about this situation. I would like for you to contact [AL employee name] to verify my statement. Best Regards, Tony

It was pretty much a train wreck. It wasn't the service but the actual carpenter that did the work was amazing and he's probably the only reason that the contractor is still in business. The contractor took me over 2 months to even get a consultation appointment with him after I had spoken with him on the phone and he had asked me to e-mail him my address and the description of what we wanted done and then I e-mailed some stuff 3 times with no response, called him numerous times with no response and finally asked for my money back and he then called me, set up an appointment and that day of the appointment, he never showed. He had about 30 minutes, it was Monday, we scheduled it for Monday, and in around 8:30 in the morning, I texted him and asked if he needed directions, just making sure he was still on his way and I think I also called him because he didn't respond to my text and then he did call back and said, 'I'm so sorry, I'm in court right now with attested issue.' and I said, 'Okay, tell me, when did you know about this court date? Did you know about it yesterday? Did you know about it last night? You could have told me so I didn't have to take off work or stick around the house just for you and you didn't show up.' and he goes, 'I'm really, really sorry. Let's do another date and we'll end up doing that.' All I needed was communication and apologize profusely just like, 'No worries, it won't happen again, I've just been really busy,' and lists of excuses. I reluctantly set up another appointment with him and he did drop as well as his carpenter and the deal that I had purchased was for 8 hours of general contractor and specified the actual general contractor part and then he came in and said, 'So this is the guy that's going to be doing the work.' And I said, 'I thought you were going to be doing the work, you are the general contractor, that's the deal that I bought from your advertisement.' and he said, 'Oh, no, this guy is good, he's even better.' and he just stuttered some stuff and then he argued with me, he's going to do it in a bad time, I just wanted it done and I was so fried and tired with putting that new entry way and I had already refinished the door and it was really to have it done so he set up the appointment to get the door pre-hung and he took my door and he didn't got it pre-hung and then he made a call and said when would be a good time to come out and install the door and we talked about it and set up a date. On that day, he was 15 minutes late which is fine but at least he showed up and he got the work done. He left, the carpenter stayed, the carpenter agreed with him and he's with an apprentice or another carpenter. Those guys did great work, were very courteous, went out of their way to clean up all the materials and bag it up, gave pointers on how I can adjust different things that didn't fit quite right because it was an older door. They were great and then they went home. The next morning around 8:30 to 9:00, the general contractor called me and he said, 'So, how do you like the work?' and I said, 'It was great, nothing but nice things about these guys.' and then he said, 'How do you want to pay?' I said, 'Pay for what? I already paid in advance, I paid Angie's List.' then he said, 'Well, I had 2 guys out there for a full day.' and I said, 'Yes, and?' and he said, 'Well, that's double the work so I need to be compensated for this other carpenter working.' and I said, 'No, absolutely not. We first talked when I purchased the deal, it was for a general contractor's hour, it doesn't say anywhere in there that it was for a carpenter or somebody other than the general contractor and not only that, we never discussed a second person coming out to do the job even when you came over and assessed it. That was never an agreement and I was quite frankly surprised when a second person showed up because when we did the walk through, the general contractor told me, 'It would only take on top 6 hours.' and it took 2 of them 8 hours because they ended being that they had to adjust. They had to go and get material which I just gave them money to go to Home Depot and get the material for it. They were really honest, very courteous, and great people. But he wanted me to pay for extra labor and time. He was extremely unorganized, not thorough, it seemed like he had either more on the street than he could keep track of, and trying to not build a business on customer service and satisfaction. It was more quantity than quality so I think that he had mentioned how he had gotten so many of these Angie's List responses and he barely had time to finish them because everything else was taking off. The work is done, the door is great, the carpenter honestly is the only reason that that guy is keeping his head above the water because it was the only time that I was ever able to get a quick response was when he wanted payment and I'll never use him again. The carpenter on the other hand, if he goes to work with another company, I'd definitely have him. It was about $200 in materials and another $160 for the door framed in so it's $360 on top of another $300. The carpenter worked professionally and appeared to know what he was doing and never like break the handle or anything.

At first, a slow response to our purchase of the Angie's List deal. Then a visit with an over-estimate of the work, then no response. We're tired of chasing. Their company has bigger jobs, I am certain, and I hope those customers get what they expect. We chose a "deal" and received no service.
Description of Work: Roseville Construction called a couple of times, and a nice guy came over to look at the job. After evaluating what we needed - something extremely simple - he recommended that it was going to be a much tougher job than first estimated, adding time, effort and expense. (We just had another contractor come and look at the work, and he agree that it was a 20-minute job.) Roseville Construction did not call or respond as scheduled, and we have abandoned chasing them down.

I asked the owner of Roseville Construction Company, Tony Elliot, to remove the linoleum before tiling the kitchen, but he advised me he would not be removing the cardboard backing but just removing the lino plastic. He just tiled straight over the cardboard backing instead and also tiled over PRESS BOARD, which WILL swell with moisture over time, and also did not use concrete Hardibacker Board, which is placed down to stablize the floor. I didn't know that was not the proper way to install the tile at the time, but from what I know now, he should have KNOWN it was not proper installation. He said his workers were subcontractors, and if Tony didn't know what the proper installation is, his subcontractors should have known. At this point, I'd like to see proof that his workers were subcontractors. When I later spoke with another tile contractor regarding other tile work that needed to be done in my house and inquired about his process of installation, he advised me that Roseville Construction did not install the tile correctly, as the tile should have never been installed over the lino cardboard, over the press board subfloor, and that Hardibacker board should have been installed to stablize the installation. The second contractor offered to do the work for $775, but later backed out when he asked me how much I paid to have the work done originally. I guess he felt his bid of $775 was too low to redo the shoddy job that Roseville Construction did for over $1400. I talked with the Ceramic Tile Institute, and they told me that it was indeed a faulty tile installation. They said that it's never proper to install tile over press board, EVEN if there is Haribacker concrete board installed, as the material is porous and is "dimensionally unstable." Roseville Construction made what seems like THREE willful mistakes: They did not remove the cardboard backing of the linoleum; they did not remove the press board, and they did not install Hardibacker board. At this point I'm ready to attach his bond unless he ensures that the work redone by a competent contractor. I do not trust him at all at this point, as I don't find him to be honest or honorable. If a person is honorable, if they make a mistake -- willful or otherwise -- and do everything possible to make it right. I have not been made whole because the floor is still not installed properly and is subject to cracking over time, and no one will redo it for $775. My guess is that Tony jumped at the chance to have someone else clean up the problem he created for HALF THE PRICE, which obviously, it will cost more than the original price he charged me because the tile has to be ripped out. Roseville Construction also did not put transition strips in, and the grout started to come out of the cracks immediately. They also did not properly tile fully under the stove, as he only tiled the area that was visible which would be inconsistent if the kitchen was remodeled in the future. I felt it was just a shoddy job overall. He just seems interested in getting the money and moving on as quickly as he can, not in doing careful, quality work. Bad ethics, in my opinion. I followed up with them to ask if I could just return the $775 back that Tony Elliot, the owner, gave me, and have them redo the work correctly because the second tile contractor that was going to redo the tile was no longer willing to redo the tile for the low price he originally quoted. I even offered that if Roseville Construction's workers did the job correctly, that I would consider having them do the laundry room and back bedroom as well. Tony Elliot did not respond to my emails, voicemails or texts after multiple attempts over two weeks, until I filed a complaint with Angie's List. He responded very quickly after I filed my complaint and said that he was on vacation, which I question because of the way he's treated me. The issue is not resolved to my satisfaction. I cannot tell you how many times, as a single female, that contractors have done poor-quality work because they assume I'll never know the difference. I signed up with Angie's List hoping to avoid another situation where I get poor work for a fair price, but unfortunately it has happened again. This time I'm filing a claim against his bond if the floor is not redone to my satisfaction.

[Member name removed], To set the record straight once again, we removed the vinyl flooring what remained was positions of the backing that were adhered to the sub floor more than sufficiently to allow us to use a modified thin set, industry accepted, to set your tile in. We did not use a transition because there was not a difference in heights between your existing wood floor and the tile we installed, in addition you said you would prefer not to have a transition if possible, thus we made sure to get the new tile to the exact height. To the best of my knowledge that transition did not fail. A few weeks later, the first part of December 2012, you called and said you were not happy with it and that another contractor said it was all wrong etc. I offered to come look at it and make any repairs necessary, You said at that time you did not want me to do the work and would prefer that this other contractor to redo the work. You asked me to pay the contractor based off his bid, and to pay for a plumber to re-connect the stove since the new tile guy would not, I agreed to pay both of those amounts.. You then asked me to provide all the materials to re-do the floor, which included the tile, and grout, I agreed to that. I also delivered the Tile, Grout and 2 checks to you. At that point I am under the impression that we were done. I have done absolutely everything you have asked I did not stall ,or tell you no I wouldn't do something. I did everything I could to satisfy you and remedy a situation that was NOT a PROBLEM nor was it done incorrectly. I just do not ever want my customers to feel that I did them wrong in any way so I tried to accommodate you in any thing you asked to resolve the situation. Now 9 months later you send me the following e-mail on 8-28-13, Hi Tony, I never did get around to replacing the kitchen tile. Other projects have gotten in the way, but in the meantime, I haven't found someone I feel comfortable with doing the work anyway. The materials are at Sun Tile still. :o) So I would like to return the $700 + dollars you gave me and just have your guys re-do the work, please. It's just easier. But I do want to have the linoleum backing removed and hardibacker or some other supportive structure installed, to ensure a long-lasting job. If I'm happy with their work, I'll have them do the laundry and back room as well, if you'd like. Hope all is well. [member name removed] As I responded to your email, I'm still not sure why the tile was at SunTile, because I personally loaded it into your car, and now that SunTile is out of business there is no way to get it. And I am certainly not going to pay for new tile again. But more importantly in December you did not want me to even look at much less re-do the work, but now you want me to come do it so much so that you are upset that I have not responded to your communications, I was not ignoring you I was on a family vacation for the last 2 weeks. I firmly believe that I have done everything within my power to satisfy you and I am still not succeeding, I don't know what else to do for you. Sincerely, Tony

Tony was very prompt in returning my call for deck removal and rebuild. Unlike the other estimates, he emailed within 24 hours a line item estimate for the job. This line item estimate allowed us to review ever aspect of the job and we saved significant money by choosing to demolish & dispose the old deck ourselves. We set a date for construction. Unfortunately, the deck carpenter had a medical emergency; but Tony kept in contact with me and we rescheduled as soon as the carpenter was available. The crew was professional and very efficient. It took about 3 days to build the new deck. We then waited 5 weeks to allow the wood to season. Tony and his crew returned and applied the oil based preserver. I am so very pleased with my new, larger and redesigned redwood deck! Highly recommend this company--in fact I have already hired them to do another job for me!

They never showed, he called an left a message, we never heard from them again. Is this detailed enough for your purposes?

Got an appraisal from RCC and we were happy with the amount, so we went with them So we went with Roseville construction. Everything was fine until it rained. They left one day and we didn't hear back from them until two weeks later. They left trash in the yard, left over wood in the walkways, tools etc. Then I found out that the owner was out of town and left his son in law in charge, big mistake! I called left a message, and no one ever returned my call. Finally the owner called after returning from his trip to ask me for final payment!! I couldn't believe it, no "are you happy, are there any issues, etc)... So, I expressed how I felt with the owner and he apologized up and down, and proceeded to tell me it would all be better. The landscaping hadn't even been started, I still hadn't talked to a landscaper which I thought I was paying for...Finally they show up with plants, that didnt work, in the yard, for weather reasons too hot, in the sun, etc. Then I had to meet the owner at Lowes to purchase plants a small tree for the 6 x 9 foot area..And finally the landscaper shows up at Lowes! So we came back to the home and the landscaping was finally done. Also, when the owner returned from vacation, the landscaping still needed to be done, we asked for a new contract, to make sure all the numbers made sense, the owner agreed and gave us a $200.00 discount and sent us a new contract with a new price. We looked it over thought it was a great price and agreed to the new contract. So, final payment was made and then I get a call from the owner telling me that the contract was done wrong and they needed an extra $1000.00. What?! was my reaction, this was new contract made by him and I asked if that was the correct amount, before I wrote the check and was told that the amount on the contract was correct... so I didn't pay the extra $1000.00 I was so exhausted emotionally, at the end, I just wanted to forget about the whole thing..

Response from Roseville Kitchen & Bath
While the first section of the clients experience is correct, it is not 100% accurate. Yes it started raining, however the deck was completed before we left. The tools that were left was a shovel and a hammer. The wood that was left was the overage of material that was placed where the home owner wanted us to place it. Yes, I was out of town, when I got back in town I found that my landscaper and the owner had decided to wait on planting a tree because none of the ones that were at the nut in good condition. Which I was not aware of until I called and asked how everything went. At that point the owner told me to just come pick up the wood and the tools that were still there. I did and sent a new invoice zeroing out the landscape charge and giving her a $200.00 discount for her trouble. A week or so the owner called and said they wanted us to go ahead and do the landscape portion. We did the landscape I assumed, so my bad, that they would realize that the cost of landscape would go back on the invoice. They apparently did not see it that way and assumed I was going to do it for free. They gave me a check which I had to wait almost 4 weeks to cash the check because she was waiting on some money to come in, no worries I agreed to it and that was that. At this point I could seek legal help but I don't conduct business that way and it is 51% my fault that I did not send a new invoice/estimate that reflected the cost of the landscape again. With that being said we built a deck and landscaped the area she was happy with the work and quality which is the most important part of the job. The money well it was a learning experience for me.
I felt very comfortable working with Tony and his crew. He is very fair and knowledgeable and I highly recommend him.

Tony and his crew showed up right on scedule and got my list of items knocked out in 3 hours. This is the second time I have used Roseville Construction company and I plan on using them again in the future for a kitchen upgrade. Tony is always easy to work with and does quality work for a great cost.
