I contacted Magnolia Heating and Cooling from a recommendation on Angie?s List. I was offered a $55.00 Angie?s List special and made an appointment. The technician was early for the appointment and was very polite. I explained my concerns and he went to work. After his checks he said that my system needed an acid wash and a hard start kit. I agreed to have the acid wash done, but when I told him that the grass was artificial turf he made a call and declined to do the acid wash because it would probably destroy the turf. He then offered to water wash the condenser coils for $95.00 (which was part of the $55.00 package). He did not clean the furnace filter (which was part of the $55.00 package). I declined the hard start kit installation, mainly because of cost. I paid the technician and he sent me a receipt that had a comment about the acid wash and a hard start kit but no service report. I called Magnolia and requested a service report. The lady I talked to said she would email a report after she went through the billing from the previous day. I am on the forth day waiting for the report.
Description of Work: I don't know what the technician did because he did not leave a service report.

The technician called 30 minutes prior to arrival and was on time. He did a thorough inspection and identified the problem. He gave me different options for addressing the problem and did not try to "up-sell" me. He was courteous and professional and the cost ended up $75 below the original quote. Very pleased.

Not Good..even though the technician was very polite and spent a lot of time in examining the two a/c units that I have, he was more concerned in giving me a lot of technical details which I did not understand. I asked him not once but many times to let me know how the freeon levels were for both the units because this is a very common problem...the units don't cool if there is not enough of this...he did not do this. His reply was that I would have to purchase, in advance, from him over 200 dollars worth of service for each unit which included 2 pounds of freeon I asked him to check first if I required any...he declined. This makes no sense....why would I first pay him 400 dollars only to find out that the levels were fine and nothing was required..or maybe, each unit required only a quarter pound????? Checking levels of the coolant is the first thing a technician should do.......I think he was a new employee, had problems with his I Pad....definitely needs more training. He did, however, mention that one of the parts was about to go bad and needed replacement. I was also hoping that the price included an acid wash which is the standard for getting units really clean but it was not to be. They were just hosed down with water which is something I can do. Bottom line...not worth the money IO paid for it.

It was very good and I liked them. They were very professional and on time. They made a complete printout of everything regrading the air conditioners. They were thorough and I was quite happy with that. I don't know that I'd ever had a report as thorough on a service by an air conditioning person before. I have 2 pages of stuff they did.

My A/C unit was making some loud noises and being Corona in the middle of summer I decided to get it checked out before it became an emergency situation in 110 degree weather. i was dreading calling a HVAC company. not sure if you've ever called one before but it's a shady trade. Let me qualify, not bad people but the companies send trained "high pressure doomsday" sales technicians to tell you how bad and inefficient your system is and if you don't change it out you'll regret it and here's what we're going to sell you for $13,000. This is the reason I joined Angie's List. Ok enough of that, the technician Adam called in advanced to let me know he was on his way prior to the appointment. He was on-time, professional, and thorough. He told me my unit was fine and the motor was off balance and loose. He tightened the mounts and the noise went away. He replaced my filter and inspected all of my duct work. It was a great experience and cost me a service call or $89 which they discounted for being an Angie's List customer 5%. Not much but it all counts. I would use them again without hesitation.

After speaking with several highly recommended companies with Angies list we decided to go with Magnolia Heating & Cooling Inc. Mainly because they were one of the better estimates cost wise, plus their reviews were good on here as well. They did an excellent job. Once I decided to go with them, they were here the very next day and had it done within a few hours. They even cleaned up where the AC unit use to be which was very messy. We were very happy with everyone who came out, the quality of work, and their responsiveness throughout the entire process.

The technician Adam called to let me know he would be arriving shortly and he did with in 10 mins of his estimated arrival. He was polite and personable and in a uniform. He commenced work right away on the A/C unit and provided the service as indicatedo n the coupon I purchased on Angies list. I had mentioned to the office that I might want a Dryer vent cleaning and Adam asked if that was what I wanted. He commenced to that after the A/C check. My dryer vent runs up thru the attic which he had to climb into to service. Although his uniform got dusty, he remained in fine professional attitude. I hadn't purchased the coupon on Angies list for this service. Adam called to check the price and Magnolia gave me a good deal. My home is less than 10 years old and I didn't have any major issues, but I have learned that maintenance is important so I feel good about getting this service.

My A/C unit had started becoming inefficient the last couple weeks - temperature set at 72, but I couldn't get it to cool below 76 and it hadn't been overly hot recently - and I remembered that I had purchased this offer from Magnolia, so I gave them a call. I had bought this discounted offer quite a while ago and was very pleased that they still provided the $89 service call for the $49 fee I paid even though they could have charged me the difference, so this was a good start to things! The receptionist was very friendly and gave me the first available appointment which was about a week away. They did end up calling me twice to cancel and reschedule the appointment, which was bit disappointing, but they were nice and explained why it was necessary to cancel. The first time was because the tech assigned to my appointment had to finish an emergency job in another city from the day before, and I don't recall why it was cancelled the second time. It wasn't the end of the world since I don't work currently, but when I was employed, it would have been a hassle to be asked to change the appointment TWICE at the last minute. When the tech arrived, he was well-dressed, polite and very professional. When he got started, I just had this feeling that he wasn't very experienced, as he looked a bit awkward as he seemed to be working through a checklist or something and just didn't "dive in" there and get it done. Having had A/C inspections before, it just seemed different. Eventually I asked how long he had worked for this company. He acknowledged that he just started recently and had been in a somewhat different housing-related profession before this. He was very thorough and spent much longer on the job than I would have anticipated, but again, to some degree this seemed related to the fact that he was wasn't as familiar with what was involved in a routine A/C inspection. He was a very calm, organized person who communicated with me often about what he was doing, and I did appreciate that he wasn't rushing through the job. He also took time to show me things he thought were concerns, and he was very respectful in my home. Being a widow, I am always super careful about people who come in and I tend to watch them like a hawk. When the inspection was done, he told me what repairs/work he thought was needed - cleaning the blower fan and condenser due to accumulation of dirt/dust from lack of a filter in place for an extended period of time. The guy who originally installed the unit never told me or showed me that there was a place for a filter INSIDE the unit itself, so I never knew this! That's another story! Anyway, I was shocked to find out that these repairs would cost a whopping $1295 for something he acknowledged would take approximately three to four hours to complete, and was mostly a labor job - no expensive parts. Being unemployed at this time, I told him there was no way I could have that work done, even though it probably does need it. He did say the company offered a same-as-cash credit program if I was interested. Good to know if I actually could have afforded to pay for it. After he left, I decided to check the accompanying allergen filter that sits below the furnace, as I know that it has removable filters that can be washed and I hadn't done so recently. Upon my inspection, these filters had a lot of trapped hair and dirt, so I cleaned them thoroughly and replaced them and the unit immediately started working much more efficiently! I was kind of surprised that he hadn't checked these during his inspection. While I'm sure I still need the thorough cleaning, my unit is running much better just with me cleaning the allergen filter. A couple days later, I did receive a call to ask about my experience. I told the girl everything and she also acknowledged that the employee was fairly new and that he probably should have checked the allergen filters. She didn't make any excuses and apologized that things didn't go maybe quite as well as they could have. I did appreciate that they called to follow up on the service, and like everyone else I encountered, she was friendly and seemed genuinely concerned about my experience. I think Magnolia is an honest company with friendly employees, and the tech was certainly very nice, very professional and very thorough, but I don't know that I would use them for the repairs only because of the cost, but I also readily admit that I have absolutely NO knowledge of what industry rates are for this type of service so this could in actuality be a bargain for all I know! Overall, I give them an "A" for customer service in that they were very conscientious throughout the entire process, but I was a little disappointed that they sent a tech with very little experience to assess my situation whereas a more experienced tech probably would have caught the dirty allergen filters that would have at least helped my situation a little bit. However, I realize a lot of companies probably send their less-experienced employees to do the "coupon jobs" so I wasn't entirely surprised or offended.

Found out my compressor was shot. The repair man was confident he could get working but to no avail. He tried multiple times but was unsuccessful do to no fault of his own. The unit was 15 years old and unfortunately for me the unit needed to be replaced. I appreciated that the repairman did not try to sell on a new unit, that was my idea. He was very honest and professional and would use them again without reservation.

It was not very good. He came in and couldn't figure out how come why my light bulb switch couldn't work. He said he'd came back another time and he quoted the price of three-hundred some dollars to fix that and then lighten up my bathroom and before he walked away; it was up to seven hundred eighty four dollars. It was two hundred and fifty dollars for two light switches but the original was ninety-nine dollars. It was not working well yet. I went online looking for it. I just can't believe he charged me too much. I wasn't very happy. He said he's going to check the wiring on the attic but he never went there. It just seemed too much. The price is outrageous. Before it went wrong I had a three-way and it's not working like it did before. They came out when I asked them to come out; that's pretty good but I wasn't happy. I wouldn't recommend them.

We had some problem with electric power into our a/c unit, called to schedule an appointment, the lady answered the call, was very nice, and professional, even most of their techs are in training, a tech was able to be onsite to diagnose our electric problem in couple day, scheduling processing was very good. it cost $89 for the trip. Tech's conclusion was all 3 fuses are bad. We ordered three fuses, cost us $60. replacement the fuses. problem not fixed. I called another electrician/hvac company, they came on site, spotted a wiring issue in 20 minutes, no parts were replaced, problem was fixed in less than an hour. Out of 5 star, 1 star for scheduling, the lady was professional 1 star for the tech to be onsite on time, 1 star for the tech's attitude, the guy was nice 1 star was deducted because problem was fixed, and it costed more, 1 star deducted as I ask them for a proposal for another job, they have not called in 2 weeks.

The company called me on Friday before the service date to confirm appointment which I liked the reminder. Then they called again on. Monday day of service to say they were ahead of schedule and if they could come earlier. I said yes that would work. I really liked that they said they could come earlier so we could get other things done during the day. Two men came to the house and started cleaning out vent, they were at the house for close to two hours cleaning it out. Great results so far. I would use this company again. Thank You.
