Description of Work: Installed new water heater. This was an Angie's List deal for new heater for $799 and the remainder of the cost was for added extras--bringing up to code which I understand. But I didn't realize I would have to pay for a helper because there was no convenient parking available. They did a great job and cleaned up afterwards and were very professional.

Description of Work: Install 38 gallon gas water heater. George removed the old water heater and installed the new water heater in 2 hours. Purchased the water heater thru Angie's List for $799 and paid additional $197 for two upgrades and metal drip pan. The upgrades involved installing gas shut off valve and bonding water and gas pipes with 6 awg wire and clamps. George installed the earthquake strip kit and it was much more secure than the previous one.

Description of Work: Their web site did not allow me to cancel the order after I found out that they could not deliver the service same day. They said "Fast" which is why I tried them. I got another company to come right out and it turned out that it was only the pressure valve that needed to be replaced. All other sites I've used do not finalize the deal until you have completed the online information. When I saw they could not do same day, I looked for cancel and could not find so I just exited the site. I did not expect they would bill me.

Description of Work: too soon to tell the quality of water heater. It looks good and was put in quickly. The cost increased by over $500 from the original $799 but still cheaper than other company that gave me an estimate or $2,600.

There were a few extra things to fix to bring it up to code, but we could do them ourselves. The vendor could have done them for an additional price, but it was not worth the added expense for us, since we could do it ourselves. Passed inspection, no problem.

I also had to pay to have inspector come back out. Meanwhile, installer was blaring his music. This ended up being very expensive and very inconvenient

Jake set up the installation and answered all my of questions. Carlos Gomez did the installation. He was professional and confident yet warm and friendly. Great customer service skills. Description of Work: Was contacted by the company quickly. I wanted an Energy Star-rated water heater with a 12 year warranty, which according to the offer, would be a no-cost upgrade with a PG&E rebate. It turned out that the extra cost was ~$300, and the rebate was only ~$200, however I agreed to pay the extra anyway. I gave them the exact model of a water heater that I currently had, so that they could prepare something compatible. When a technician came next day, it turned out that the better heater that he had was a lot larger, so he would have to replace and redo nearly everything, with the costs skyrocketing. Even worse, he would disassemble my air heater ventilation, and I would need to find "someone" to reassemble it. Even worse, there wasn't an electrical outlet to connect the new heater to, so I would need to find an electrician too. None of that was explained to me before the visit. All combined, I'd pay about 2x more, and end up with a nonfunctional water heater (as it wouldn't have electricity yet), and I would lose my air heating until I could find someone to install new ventilation. At this point, it didn't seem like a good deal to me. In all fairness, the technician was ready to install a basic water heater with a 6 year warranty at no extra cost. However, I was looking for an upgrade with this deal, not for a low end model.
