Angie's List first came to the rescue where I sorted to the best rated water heater specialist of which I promptly found Fast Water Heater --- great history of positive reviews and awards. They definitely lived up to their reputation! Office operator was super helpful to identity my potential needs, gave me a ballpark quote and set up a timetable for them to come out that day. What they do is not only come out for an estimate, but they will bring products with them onsite so that if you decide to go forward, you will have a new heater installed that day! The technician, Robert, took great care and time in explaining all needs, permit considerations, and steps in the process. Being a homeowner for over 16 years of 2 different homes, I lucked out and never had to purchase or replace a heater. Well, my time finally came to do so and I am extremely grateful for Robert and Fast Heater. Product and installation costs were comparable to another outfit I also come out for an estimate, but Fast Water Heater won out the job because of their superior knowledge, explanations of permit concerns and longer term considerations. Robert itemized out all the work items for me to prioritize and determine which I should move forward with. Water Heater replacement is their core competency folks, so no need to look further! Brilliant service at a good price. I purchased the Angies List offer at 9am and the gas water heater was installed by 12:30pm. I went home to meet Leka, the installer, and he was there right on time. He was super nice and very professional. Explained the 'fine print' and made sure I was 100% comfortable with what I was buying. Only took him about 1hr to remove and install the new unit and he also checked the gas and water lines. He walked me thru how to use it and made sure I tested all the faucets in the house to make sure it was 100% working ok. I dont often write reviews but this company Jake the 'office" guy and Leka the installer exceeded my expectations and I have high standards! As a side note, being a female in a traditionally 'man's' world it was important to me that the crew were professional - and they were. I felt very comfortable with the whole transaction. Well done guys. If you need a water heater I would highly recommend contacting them.

I talked to Jeff about my situation. I explained to him I need an appointment early enough so I can go to work. I told him I had to leave my house by 12:30 Jeff told me no problem, I will be the first customer in the morning. He told me someone will be out between 9-2. I told him that will not work for me I have to be out of the house by 12:30. He told me don't worry the work will be done by that time and I was the first person. This was on a Friday and my appointment was the following Friday (they make same day appointments). On Wednesday my water heater burst. I had to call the water dept. to shut down my water. Now I have no water in the house. I call Jeff to see if they could get me in any earlier than Friday. He told me he will try (what happen to same day appointments) if not I still have my appointment on Friday. He didn't call me on Wednesday or Thursday, so I assumed my appointment is good for Friday. On my appointment day, Friday, at about 9:40, know one called or came, so I call the company. I told them know one has shown up for my appointment. The person told me I was the second customer for the day and the person will be out there when he is finish. I explained to the person I was promised to be the first customer of the day because I have to go to work and it will take 2-3 hours to complete the job. He told me he was sorry that he can reschedule me for another day. I explained to him I didn't like to be lied to in order to get my business. I could have found another company instead of wasting my time with them. I have no water in my house and you want to reschedule. I told him I would find someone else before I ever reschedule with them Customer beware

Great he worked late to be sure my tenant a new mom had hot eater

Great! They gave me a 9-2 window and they were here shortly after 9. They determined that a repair would fix the problem, so they did it. Now I have hot water and an option to have a new hot water heater installed by them which gives me time to assess my options. They also offer a 30 day refund on the deal if I decide not to replace it. I will definitely use this company in future!

They were very good. I was going to buy one from home depot, and they let me know that I needed a certain kind in regards to the amount of feet away from my washer and dryer.

Jake was able to provide all information and pricing for the work and unit. They do not install outside purchases; only install what they sell and will warranty that work. Totally understandable. We did not select them, but appreciate the honesty and the commitment to standing behind their work.

It was awesome, because Daryl is such a kind hearted soul. Working on Valentines day to make sure we could get hot water up and running. What a life saver. Boiling water to take a shower is really painful...

Installation was fast and efficient. The technician was helpful, experienced, and sincere.

Amazing! They were very communicative and polite, straightforward, and punctual. Scheduling with them was very easy, and the technician was in touch with me twice to let me know about his arrival time (which was right in the middle of the window they gave). Then, the technician looked at our unit and gave me a completely different, much more informed, diagnosis. He thought the initial issue was due to something entirely different, and on top of that, our model was still under warranty so any repairs needed should be covered under warranty!! He let me know that our current model doesn't need repairs right now, but if that changed, Fast Water Heater Company doesn't service the manufacturer I have. I asked him about tankless water heaters if we want to go that route in the future, and he was incredibly helpful at talking through the pros and cons, as well was what the process would be. I am so grateful that I got his perspective and advice!! He didn't charge me anything, even though his service was MUCH more valuable to me than the one I got yesterday.

I bought the offer on a Thursday morning, and by Tuesday morning I still had not heard from FWH, so I contacted them. That delay is my only complaint. Not a big deal, but I had noted on my Purchase Form that I was without hot water. Once in contact FWH was very responsive, and they scheduled an appointment for two days later. Robert arrived as scheduled, and as promised he called me about 30 min. beforehand, which I appreciate, since it allowed me to plan other activities around it. When he looked at my current water heater, he realized that an Energy Star heater could not replace it. The vent plumbing was really too short for the heater I had, and the Energy Star heater would have been even taller :-( However, he was able to find a low-profile water heater (not Energy Star) and reschedule for the next day. Next Day, once again he arrived as scheduled with a call 30 min. in advance. In the space of ~3 hours, he removed the old heater, installed the new one, and made the necessary changes to the vent and drain lines. Considering all of the variations from the original offer, FWH definitely would have been within their rights to charge me more, even MUCH more, but they chose to honor the original deal. So while I did not get the Energy Star heater I hoped for, that was not the faulty of FWH, and they handled the job promptly, professionally, and at a very reasonable price. (I'm not sure I would buy another Angie's List "Deal." I've been a member for a long time, but this was the first time I purchased one of their offers. Unless you are ABSOLUTELY sure that the offer covers ALL of the work you'll need done, it puts you at risk of owing a lot more than the offer would suggest. If you are in a position to reject the added costs, then it might be OK. But if you're in a spot like I was -- going on your second week with no hot water -- then you might wind up getting no "deal" at all!)

The installer did the job smoothly within a day.

We ran into a couple of snags, but an overall good experience.We bought the $799 energy efficient water heater coupon to do this job, but it turned out that the garage configuration could only support a standard water heater. The energy efficient water heater model needed to be 10 to 15 feet away from the washing machines in the garage. In addition to replacing the water heater, I wanted to replace the original water heater platform since it was now a soggy mess of two-by-fours due to the slow leak. Fast Water Heater also recommended some other changes to bring the water heater setup up to code (e.g., add a pan, change out the natural gas valve). The work was efficiently completed and everything looks good. In total, I spent about $1300 including the original coupon.

Very good service. The installer completed the installation of the new water heater under two hours. He made sure that resulting air in the pipes was removed by having us turn on and off the faucets approximately 30 times.

Bad. I hired them to inspect anode rod. The person who showed up didn't bring a ladder (not sure who doesn't bring a ladder to service a hot water heater, but that's just me). I offered to go get mine from three flights up, but he put his hand up on the top and declared that I had a permanent one, pointing to the copper grounding wire wrapped around the pipes. He did empty the tank. After he left, I consulted the water heater manual and found he wasn't feeling in the right place for the anode and a quick google search of what a permanent anode looks like. Spoiler alert: it doesn't look like copper wiring. Since I found out from reading the manual, my anode doesn't need to be changed for 10 years, I didn't complain, and he did flush the tank for me. But I think it's terrible that they would make up a story or clearly not know the difference between grounding wire and a permanent anode.

Terrible! I am going to request a full refund. The ad is extremely misleading. When I called them to schedule the installation, they told me that they couldn't install the water heater within 15 ft of the washer and dryer. They are all in the garage - not next to each other, but within that radius. It would be $200 more for the water heater since you couldn't get the rebate. Then he said the permit and taxes were extra. The total cost for this service is going to be $600-800 more, basically twice what the Angie's list deal supposedly is for.

Fast Water Heater was at our house in a couple of hours after we called. Rob J. was very professional and explained the whole process. The installation went quickly and the clean up was excellent. We highly recommend!

Called on Monday, plumber did the work on Tuesday. Plumber arrived on site, reviewed installation with me over the phone, precisely defined the problems and the solutions, provided a complete quote for the work. Installation took one day.
