Description of Work: I called to have them look at my 10 year old water heater that stopped working overnight, just luke warm water. They said they won't attempt repair on a 10 year old heater and no attempt will be made to troubleshoot possible repair, but they would sell me a new one without even looking at it. I am sorry you had a bad experience. It is our policy to not work to repair water heaters 10 years of age or older. The life expectancy of the water heaters are 10 years of age, we recommend replacement at that age.

Description of Work: Replaced hot water heater. Ended up charging an extra 200 or so on top of advertised price. Everything worked fine and was timely. Left tools and water all over front yard which turned into mud.

Description of Work: Removed old water heater and Installed new water heater. The only problem was that the installer had to call for backup to remove the old water heater. It was in a position that made it difficult for him to remove it by himself. The assistant could not come until the next day so it took to trips for the repair. It wasn't critical as the old heater had a very small leak and was still producing hot water.

I got a call the night before they were suppose to come, and they said the man who was scheduled to come was sick, and that they would need to reschedule. I was upset that they were not treating this like the emergency that it was to me. I have been without hot water for more than a week, as I have been researching tank less water heaters. His tone on the phone seemed to indicate that he was frustrated that it wouldn't be as big a job as they may be use to. I decided to go with another company.

WHILE WE DID NOT GET AN OPPORTUNITY TO GO OUT TO THIS CUSTOMER'S HOME, WE APOLOGIZE THAT THEY WERE NOT HAPPY WITH OUR SERVICE. WE TYPICALLY ASK IF A CUSTOMER IS OUT OF HOT WATER OR IF THEIR TANK IS LEAKING AND OUR JOB NOTES DO NOT SHOW THAT WE HAD THIS INFORMATION. OUR JOB NOTES SHOW THIS JOB AS A "PREVENTATIVE JOB": WHEN OUR SCHEDULE IS BUSY WE WILL PRIORITIZE URGENT JOBS OVER PREVENTATIVE JOBS. WHEN THE TECH CALLED IN SICK, WE THOUGHT IT WOULD BE OK TO PUSH THIS JOB BACK GIVEN THAT IN OUR SYSTEM IT SHOWED AS PREVENTATIVE. HAD WE HAD BETTER INFORMATION, WE WOULD HAVE FOUND ANOTHER TECHNICIAN TO GO TO THE JOB SITE. WE ARE GLAD THE CUSTOMER WAS ABLE TO FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO SERVICE THEM.

The water heater stopped working on a Saturday afternoon. The company was able to come out the following day (Sunday). I was upset that final cost was more than double the estimate given over the telephone. There was a fee for working in a tight space (It was a tiny closet) and fees for a variety of new California codes. I think I should have been warned over the telephone that there was likely to be additional costs. However, the workman was professional, prompt and cleaned up all his mess. The workman told me that this company does installation for Home Depot and Sears. If correct, this is a good recommendation as my backup plan was to go to Sears.

I had a 10 year old water heater. It was not up to code so this wasn't just a simple "replacement". My water heater was still working but I wanted to take the change to go ahead and get something that was to code so that when it does finally fail, I would not have to do an "emergency repair". Also, the water heater is the most likely to fail appliance and it can be dangerous when they do. like in an earthquake. Fast Water Heater was simply fantastic. They first came out and gave us an estimate. Everything was explained in great detail. Later I scheduled an appointment and they arrive on time to replace the heater. The whole thing took 3 hours. During the install they noticed that I had a bad gas valve. They asked me if I wanted to replace it (yes) and charged me a nominal fee for doing that. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing either an emergency repair or a normal replacement. They were honest, explained things, and were prompt.
Description of Work: Fast Water Heater came out and replaced my 40 gallon gas heater with a new shorter 40 gallon Rheim water heater with a 6 year warranty. They also brought everything up to code and filed for a permit. This involved: 1) removing old heater, 2) installing new heater, 3) adding a pipe bollard to keep our car from accidentally driving into the gas line, 4) replaced some gas valves, 5) added insulation and 6) added earthquake straps and bracing.
