Installer was professional and thorough; provided estimate and after discussing options he performed the work as stated. He was honest, friendly and patiently answered all of my questions. I was referred to this company and was told to ask for this specific installer - I'm glad I took my friend's recommendation!

I don't remember how much they charged us, but I am sure it was over $1000. They were very timely, so that was good. They did a professional job. They got the job done and we haven't had any problems with the water heater. We were told that it would be a certain price and then when they came out, there were all these add-ons that were optional but highly recommended. I didn't feel that they were totally straightforward about what the cost might be for us until they got here and they were halfway through doing what they were doing. I really didn't like the fact that they were going to give us a discount if we gave them a favorable rating and not only if we gave them a favorable rating but if we proved to them that we gave them a favorable rating. My overall experience is graded based on the fact that they were soliciting a favorable rating and there were hidden costs involved. I don't know about their price because I didn't do a price comparison. They weren't particularly honest.

I think I will use them again in the future.

Installation by George was excellent. Prices charged for additional installation items were high but they apparently are controlled by Sears and required by Code. Would check with them before purchase water heater from Sears again, maybe cheaper to buy it from them and have them install it.

Based on a discount in Angie's magazine, I set up an appointment. During the appointment call, they asked for the make/model of the current water heater and for a lot of information regarding the location/strapping of it. Based on their detailed review, they came up with a quote, which including the angie discount came to $989. Great. They came as scheduled, 2 people. While everything I told them over the phone was correct, they checked the current water heater and gave me an additional quote for $315 EXTRA to be able to install it. The water heater they would install would be taller than the current one - so the existing straps would have to be moved replaced and reblocked. The water heater needed to be brought up to code - a new shut off - new insulation, etc. I sent them packing, disappointed that Angie's would recommend this company. The coupon for being an Angie List customer was a joke! I called another company also highly regarded on Angies and ended up with a better quality rated water heater for $995 without any surprise charges or quote changes.

We went by Home Depot and filled out their form. Fast called within 24 hours and gave me a quote for both a tank and tankless water heater. I asked that they come prepared for either and we would make a decision based on the actual quote for our project. Appointment for 9-11AM in two days. The contractor called 15 minutes to 11 to say he was running late and arrived around noon. His quotes were significantly higher than what they told us on the phone, so we chose the cheaper tank model. Just so other homeowners are prepared, here's a general breakdown on the costs. $558 cost of water heater at Home Depot $929, the quote we received from Fast for a tank water heater including installation $214 permit fee for San Jose, we were told we would pay in addition to the installation $? additional costs we were told we might have to pay to bring the installation up to code Total expected cost: $1143 plus a couple hundred max to install updated support and replace some connectors. Total actual cost $1610.73 The tankless water heater had an estimate, installed, of $2769. Once the contractor added the cost of bringing a larger gas line from the meter and other miscellaneous costs, we were looking at $4714.41. Bottom line: The estimates you get on the phone are far from what you'll actually pay. I'm giving them a "C" on the cost because of the significant difference, but not an "F" because I've asked another company for a quote and received one in a similar to the total we actually paid. Negative point: When I made the appointment I specifically chose a model that had a 12-year warranty. The contractor installed an inferior model for $70 less. I didn't notice this until the day after. We were charged the appropriate price. Positive point: The contractor was professional and knowledgeable about water heaters. I've come across some truly awful contractors over the years and a few good ones. This was one of the best.

They came out to the house and said it would be $500 to fix. It turned out to be a pressure regulator which costed $75.00 to repair.

I was connected to the Fast Water Heater company through Home Depot. I wanted to replace my water heater that was leaking. Jenny R who took my call was very helpful in providing an initial estimate and quickly scheduled my appointment for the same day. George B came on time and gave me a very detailed quote for everything that was needed to bring the installation up to code plus things that were needed for my particular situation. George patiently answered all my questions and was sympathetic with my concern on the cost and eliminated items that were not deemed absolutely necessary upon my request. His service was quick and professional. The tank was replaced and hot water flowed perfectly again in less than 2 hours. I would also like to praise Rene A, the manager, for going out of his way to make sure that the work was completely flawlessly and that I'm genuinely happy with the company's service. All three were very friendly and professional and I had a wonderful time interacting with them. I highly recommend their service for any water heater or plumbing needs.

Fast Water Heater Company was prompt, courteous, and thorough. Once they arrives, we were advised of numerous possible upgrades to their basic service, and were given the option to choose what would best fit our needs. Would definitely recommend them!

They did a good job but it was kind of expensive because they insisted on getting permits. The codes have changed and that made the job expensive. If cost us $1500 for the new codes. The work they did was of high standard. I can get the city inspector examine it. However, I feel that some of the things were unnecessary in the bill. I don’t really care for all those rules. The water heater is guaranteed. The guy who did the work was decent and clean and knew his job very well. He was competent. I will consider them again in the future.

I called Monday morning and talked to Lily on the phone. From the start, you could tell that she would be providing excellent customer service. She was friendly and knowledgeable and had a good grasp of the type of water heaters available. When I called the other places, the person who answered the phone did not know too much about the available models but Lily did and we were able to agree on a couple of water heaters that I would be interested in. She was able to set up an appointment the same day and left me a two hour window. Since the water heater was for a rental property, she mentioned that she could give me a call on my cell phone so that I didn't have to wait at the rental house for two hours. While this may seem like a small thing, it really goes a long way since some places couldn't even do that. As promised, somebody gave me a call to tell me that the installer would be there in 30 minutes. I met the installer (Isi) as well as the field service supervisor (Rene). Both were very knowledgeable and approachable and explained the charges. The water heater was installed in about an hour and a half and Isi cleaned up the spot perfectly. I would definitely recommend Fast Water Heater, especially the team of Lily, Rene, and Isi.

Great service. Called to let me know they were running about 30 min late. Provided an estimate and explained everything needed to be done. Completed the work on time and cleaned up after themselves. Probably not the cheapest but well worth the work that was performed.

George arrived and did the installation efficiently and cleanly. He removed the old water heater (40gal) and installed the required gas line and electrical connection. He also cleaned up the work area. When finished, he explained the rest of the process (receiving the permit and getting an inspection of the work), the warranty, and the operation of the remote (to change the temperature). He also answered all of our questions about the operation of the water heater (there's nothing really for us to do once it's installed!). We've only had the new tankless water heater for a day but we really love it! We enthusiastically recommend him and FAST water heater company if you need a new tank or tankless water heater.

Our old water heater has been more than 10 years old. To avoid any potential problems, we have decided to replace it with a new one. We first tried to get a new water heater from other large chain stores; however, they do not do the installation during the weekends. Since both my wife and I are working full-time, it's kind of hard to schedule an appointment with them. Finally, we found Fast Water Heater Company. They do the installation during the weekends. Their services are excellent. The price is also very reasonable. Highly recommended.

I had a 19 year old 75 gallon gas water heater that finally started a slow leak. I found Fast Water Heater Company on the Internet and gave them a call after speaking with various retail stores. It was amazing to me to see how every retail store gave me completely different (and apparently false) information about purchasing a new gas water heater. I was confused and didn't trust anyone. I finally called Fast Water Heating Company and scheduled an appointment for a free consultation to see what I really needed to upgrade such an old water heater. I couldn't find any other company that would give me a free estimate. A gentleman by the name of Leka came out the next day to inspect my old water heater and make recommendations as to what I should buy. I asked that he give me an estimate based on what I needed to be safe (not necessarily up to city code). He told me honestly what he thought I needed to be safe (I live in the center of earthquake country) and he didn't add on any additional costs for things I didn't really need. He gained my trust. I have been in sales my entire life and know when I am being conned. He was honest, direct and I trusted him to do the job. After he gave me a quote I wanted to schedule another appointment for installation. He had with him in his truck a replacement water heater and he did the job the same day. I did not need a 75 gallon water heater at all and he told me that a 40 gallon would definitely satisfy my needs, perhaps even a 30 gallon. I chose to get the 40 gallon and the installation didn't take long. He was very professional and I trusted him completely. I've only had the new water heater for a month but so far I have had no problems with it. Fast Water Heater Company is the contracted installer for Home Depot which made me very nervous but he assured me that all service calls (should I ever needed them in the future) would be handled by his company. I had a very simple question that needed to be escalated to the sales manager, Mike. He took care of my question immediately and I closed out that day feeling confident that I would be taken care of in the future should anything go wrong. I will definitely rely on them to fix any problems if they should occur in a timely fashion. If they don't, you will all hear back from me but I really don't think there will be any issues in the future that they won't take care of. My warranty is for 12 years and I'm hoping this new water heater will last as long as my old one. I absolutely would not hesitate to use this company again and they have my highest recommendation possible. Their pricing was slightly higher than the retail stores I had spoken with but their response time, knowledge and professionalism made up for it. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and they have an office out of Concord, CA just for you folks that think they are just located in the Northwest. Give them a call. I think you'll be more than satisfied.

It was great! I met the man while he was installing a water heater for my neighbor. He gave me a complete written estimate, which was lower than the competitors. Also, they were able to install it two days after the quote. He was on time, very pleasant, and had a great attitude. He installed the water heater correctly and even did a few repairs at no cost.

The job was done fantastically, very professional. We couldn't have been more pleased. The district manager was able to answer questions before the work began so we were all on the same page.

The installer (I wish I remembered his name) called in advance to let us know he was coming, and he was nice enough to come an hour earlier which we appreciated. He was very professional, punctual, and knowledgeable. He discussed issues we had, and even though we had an old plumbing system, he was able to resolve the issue immediately. Most important to my wife, he cleaned up after he was done. We would definitely use FWH again in the future.

We contacted Fast Water Heater directly, not through Home Depot where they seem to have a pretty successful relationship, because I'd heard several people talking about the service. A representative came to our home (traveling quite a distance), to inspect our water heater, and make sure it was in accordance with code. I was thinking about upgrading to a tank-less water heater. The FWH guy walked me through all of the pro & cons, and told me that our current water heater was still in pretty good condition. I thought he was knowledgeable, articulate & very friendly. There was no hard sell for something I might not need right now. In the end, I decided to hold off, but will definitely call my guy at Fast Water Heater whenever I have a problem or decide to make a change. I was very impressed.

They do very good work. They are very conscientious and did the work in one day. He called to let me know he would be late because of another job.

Fast Water Heater Company was great. They explained to me what to expect. They were very thorough with me on the phone then other companies. They were sure to use laymen terms with me so that I could easily understand what was going on.

My husband and I were very happy with Fast Water Heater Company because they did the job right. We paid a little more but it was worth it. We have an 80 gallon hot water heater that went out on New Years day. They replaced the hot water heater with great response time. they were even able to complete some of the more complicated work that was associated with our solar panels. We were very pleased with their work. I also enjoyed that they supply with the proper documentations for the job completed. I would definately rehire this company if ever needed.
