Not well... We had a lot of trouble reaching Eric. But when we did we made an appointment to see the job, because he did not want to quote it blind. Understandable. Not showing up or answering my phone calls after missing the appointment completely, Not acceptable!.

Eric was lovely and fast and friendly. He first came to give us a quote and returned the next day to do the job. He told us he thought he cracked a tile and he would return and repair it by removing a tile from under the dryer, replacing it with a different tile, and using the matching tile in place of the cracked one, all at no cost to us. Amazing service!

Eric really loves tricky projects that let him use his range of "special tools", several of which he has developed himself. We had a shower door step that the contractor installed backwards. That is, the slope ran OUT of the shower into the bathroom. This allowed water, over time, to escape under the door. To complicated matters, the area is covered in penny tile. We had several people out to look and the job and offer solutions. Most were of the opinion that we should just demolish the whole thing, including the 7 foot frameless door and let them do it "right". Hot mop and all. One other provider was willing to alter the threshold, but only in the context of redoing our entire kitchen. Eric, with a gleam in his eye, described in detail all the steps he would take to essentially reshape the slope to achieve appropriate water run off. He then proceeded to spend 3-4 hours painstakingly grinding the concrete of the threshold millimeter by millimeter. In many ways, it was like watching a neurosurgeon at work. He then tackled a number of other small tile repair jobs in the house that, again, others weren't willing to tackle without redoing a large part of our house. This guys is perfect for those nagging, tricky jobs. We couldn't find anyone else in the LA area (and we really looked for months) who would do the kind of small, tricky job that Eric excels at doing. He was always on time and on budget.

I didn't have replacement tiles so Eric suggested places to go to find tiles that would work. Some I found at Home Depot and others at a tile store. He cleaned the grout on the bath floor so the when the new tiles were added, you can't even tell where they were added. He installed a marble floor in another shower after removing the old glass tiles that were cracked and chipped. It looks like new. He even installed a new drain

very well. Eric has his own special set of tools. very hands on. won't leave until customer is happy.

We were thrilled with his knowledge, his creativity and his professionalism. The job actually required some very exacting and difficult tile-cutting due to a circular shape we needed tile around. It turned out beautiful. We are planning on having Eric do additional tile work for us in the other bathroom and then in the kitchen soon.

I contacted Eric because of the great reviews on Angie?s list. Unfortunately I did not have the same great experience that other reviewers had and I?m a little bewildered by this difference. I agree that Eric is a nice guy, that he means well, and that he tries hard to get things right, but in the end his work product does not equal the price he was charging me. We agreed to replace fourteen 18? x 18? marble tiles for $800 (labor) plus the cost of the tile. This seemed a little high to me but I felt that with such great reviews I was paying for a craftsman and that it would be worth it. Eric removed the tiles and damaged a few others in the process. He installed several of the new tiles but when I inspected the work they were uneven and didn?t match the previously installed tiles. When I pointed this out Eric said that the other tiles had been ground down over years of polishing. Eric knew that I had another company contracted to clean and polish the floor once he was finished. He said that when they polish the floor they will grind down the tiles and get rid of any uneven surface. I contacted the tile polishing company and they said that there would be no such grinding and that the tiles should be installed within a 32nd of an inch or each other. Eric seemed a little disgruntled at this but agreed to pull up and re do several of the tiles. Because of the broken tiles and his re-work he was unable to complete the job on time so we scheduled another date to complete the work. After looking at several other tile installations around town and evaluating the work done so far it was clear that the craftsmanship was sub-par. At $800 Eric was charging $25.39 a square foot for labor. The tiles were $6.99 per square foot. At $32.39 a square foot I think it is reasonable to expect a flat installation and no excuses saying that someone else (the tile polishers) will fix the work later. I felt bad but I had to let Eric go. Now I have two substantial holes in the living room floor and need to find another tile person to re do the entire job.

Eric performed a miracle! He mixed epoxy with color - very nearly getting the exact color of the tiles which are an unusual shade - the first time! He finessed the color a bit more and applied the compound with a razor's edge, sculpting the raised edge back onto the tile where the damage had occurred. It is very nearly impossible to see! His price was incredibly low, so I gave him a tip.

I called you at the last minute to get some help with some broken, shifted Mexican paver tiles (1' x 1') on my pool deck, as I had a realtor coming over with a prospective client, and this issue seemed to suddenly pop up out of nowhere. The work required some artistic finesse, as I had smaller decorative insert tiles that required many of the pavers to be custom cut. You responded quickly, were here immediately, and did an excellent job repairing the deck tiles. It looked as good as new, as though it had originally been installed that way, and believe me, I'm a picky, tough customer. Excellent craftsmanship, excellent service, and an excellent attitude. What more could a customer ask for :-) Again, many thanks!

Eric provided an estimate range to repair our tile that was buckling in the shower. He came out on a Sunday and provided the estimate and on Monday he did the work. Even though he had to remove a dozen ceramic tiles within our shower and taper the gap to fix for the expansion, you can hardly tell he patched the area. His price was at the low end of his estimate. We are very happy with his service. He easily saved me $1000 dollars.

I can't begin to tell you how happy we are with Eric... We have a 40 year old house with Tile Floors... When we replaced the dishwasher... The installers broke 3 of the tiles... We called Eric... He went out and shopped the tiles for a day.. Came back and replaced them... You can not even tell the difference from the other tiles... His truck is like a laboratory full of stain and different kinds of grouts.. Ones they have not made for 20 years... Just amazed and very happy... Highly recommend...

He came and finished the job, and I think it might have been acrylic or an epoxy grout. He did a fair job and he was responsive. He indicated that he could definitely handle the job, and he was flexible. There were gaps in it and I had to go in put pieces of tape all around the bathroom in areas that the grout had not been put in at all. After the fact, I have seen many spots where there is no grout. He was kind of sloppy, and he wasn’t careful about things like walking with grout-covered shoes over my carpets around my front entry way. I would not call him back again. He was responsive, and when I pointed out things that were wrong, he was concerned, but then when he redid it, it was still not done properly.

I hired Eric to work on our newly purchased BBQ as I needed a tile expert to complete some stacked stone work. Eric was very patient and attentive to the details. He was a pleasure to work with and has a great energy and passion for the work he does. Some contractors are just there to get the job done and get paid, but you can tell that Eric truly enjoys the work he does and makes a great effort to ensure his customers are satisfied. He enthusiastically gets to work and is very receptive to your suggestions as you work with him. Additionally, though our BBQ was delayed and we had to reschedule the appointment twice, Eric maintained his flexibility and worked with our revised schedule. While Eric was there, we also had some minor broken tiles in the courtyard and cement cracks, and he did this all as part of the original project after he was done with the BBQ for no additional charge, which we really appreciated. While Eric mostly does tile repair and bathroom work, we were not hesitant to hire him for this project which required some more creativity. We were very glad we did, as he did an excellent job. We highly recommend him and would not hesitate to use him again should future needs around the house arise.

When I discovered that our shower pan was leaking, I turned to Angies List to find a tile man to replace it. I picked Tile Repair Service as the alleged best of the few who had experience with shower pans. Eric gave me an estimate and also recommended a tile store, Trans World, Inc., Northridge, where I could find tiles that would be a close match for the existing ones. I bought them from Trans World. When Eric opened the boxes of tile, I discovered that Trans World had sent the wrong color tile. Neither Eric nor I wanted to delay the project, so I crossed my fingers and hoped that the colors wouldn't look too weird. The work went well, and Eric explained what he was doing as he went along. However, when it was finished, I noticed that there were obvious ripples in the floor of the shower, making it look like the work of an amateur, who didn't know what he was doing. I have never seen a shower floor that had ripples in it, and thought it might accumulate pools during a shower. However, no pools seemed to accumulate and the shower pan did not leak when tested. Eric's caulking work was also poor and large gaps were left that should have been sealed. I called Trans World to inform them of their mistake, but since the tile had already been installed, the salesman seemed baffled as to why I was calling him. There was no apology. Because of the sloppy work and recommending an uncomprehending tile store, I cannot recommend Tile Repair Service.

I contacted Eric because we have a shower with discolored grout that we couldn't get clean, and we were concerned that it needed to be replace because of mold/moisture issues. Eric arrived, took a look at it, and told me that the grout was simply dirty from age and recommended a strong cleaner that would take care of the problem. He even gave me the store name where I could buy it. I showed him some cracked grout and he told me how I could easily and cheaply patch it myself. Eric could have told me that I needed to re-grout the entire shower/bath areas or charged me a lot to do a professional cleaning, but he not. He gave me his honest assessment, told me how to solve it myself, and was personable and professional. We use a lot of contractors for the house we live in and for a rental house we own, and deal with a lot of contractors. Eric seemed honest and knowledgeable. We would not hesitate to call him again if we have tile problems in future.

Fixed tile on our outdoor fountain and sealed it as well. Eric was exceptionally responsive and quick. He was easy to work with and pleasant to speak with. No question I would use him again.

Eric Veider of the tile repair service is a dedicated, professional and responsive repairman who was the only one of all the tile installers I contacted who said he could repair the shower pan without replacing the entire shower stall, glass enclosure, etc. which would have cost considerably more. This is why I chose him to do the repair. He showed up when scheduled and worked diligently and as neatly as possible under the circumstances for what is admittedly a messy job. The entire base of the shower had to be removed including the sub-floor, a new floor and new pan had to be installed, and new tile replaced at least a third of the way up the walls of the existing shower stall. All of which was done. That's the good news. Unfortunately, Eric was not as focused as he should've been and it required him returning more than three times to make subsequent repairs before the problem of the leaking was finally resolved. And, finally, a shower door specialist was required (that Eric to his credit paid for) in order to stop the leak. And even then, I needed to do some caulking of my own to seal the grout that began to crack within weeks of using the shower again. Although his methods are somewhat unconventional, I believe the work Eric did was solid and should hold up over the long term. But his lack of thoroughness and attention to detail was quite frustrating and required nearly an extra month before the shower was usable again. On the other hand, every time we contacted Eric with a new problem he promptly returned our calls and came back to try and make things right, which these days is worth something. I would consider using Eric again for some tile repair work but I think I would supervise things more closely if I did.

Eric was on time and very professional. He repaired the wall and tile on the backsplash in kitchen. As an added bonus he sealed the whole counter wall. Our bathtub/shower area has had a constant problem with the grout only lasting about 6 months. Eric said he used an epoxy grout that will solve the problem. It looks great and we will see 6 months down the road. Again as an added bonus Eric sealed the bathroom tile vanity. Would hire Tile Repair Service again and would recommend!!! :)

Eric was awesome. His price is very competitive and it includes everything. There are no hidden costs with him. He clearly takes pride in his work and wants to the best job for you. He even worked over Labor Day weekend to accommodate my schedule. I would call Eric again in a heartbeat for tile work.
