High Definition Audio Video

Absolutely perfect. They showed up on time. We already had many in-house speakers installed but didn't know how to make them work. Shawn set up a system for us that uses Sonos, enabling us to play music using all the speakers, and set us up to use surround sound for our television. The guys stayed after the installation to show how to use it all and answered all out questions. The cost was $1,000 less than another quote we had gotten.

I had a really good experience with these guys. They worked quickly and cleanly and had a lot of good suggestions. The suggestions ended up leading to me buying way more stuff than i meant to but i'm really happy with the finished system.

He was a very nice guy. There was another $150 about, for the mount, which was not included. He was very professional. However, I thought that the big deal should have specified that the mount was not included in the service. He came very promptly once I called and he was on time.

They were very efficient, professional, and very high quality work. I would recommend them to anyone.

The installation went very well. An HDAV technician came to the house about two days after the original contact with the firm to assess my needs. Based on this, HDAV submitted a quote within 1 day. The work commenced about four days later. The technicians installing the system were very knowledgeable and professional. They made all the pieces fit and work together. They programmed a universal remote for the front room system to allow the television, the DVD, the CD player and the amplifier to work together seamlessly. I did not realize several minor issues (e.g. adding Netflix to the universal remote) until after they left. When I contacted HDAV, they returned and made the necessary changes. The only issue was that they had originally misfigured the sales tax on the hardware in the quote, so that the final amount turned out to be higher than anticipated. I am extremely happy with the result and would definitely use them again.

I called High Def for an estimate on installing a projector, screen, 5.1 speaker/receiver, and two LED TVs for a house we've just moved into. Shawn came out and took a look at my setup, gave his thoughts regarding some concerns I had with the wood paneling where one tv was to be mounted. He was a little early for estimate, but texted me to make sure that it was ok, which I was fine with. He gave me his quote and I gave him a tentative date when I'd begin the work. After reviewing another vendor, I chose High Def for the job, and once I had arranged for some drywall work to be done, set a date for a week later. The guys came out and started the install which took a full day. I let myself be upsold on ceiling mount speakers vs the wall mount/bookshelf speakers I had, and also decided to go for external speakers for the pool area that hooked up to my main receiver in the same room. This doubled the cost of the job, but luckily the wife agreed with the aesthetics, and the external speakers were something she had been interested in. Because some of the drywall work wasn't complete, they had to come back the next weekend to finish the installation of one of the tvs. There was a little back and forth scheduling that second visit, but they were able to fit me in. Hugo and crew did an excellent job, and were very professional and courteous throughout their time in our house. I would highly recommend their services, and would have no qualms using them again.

In my early days as an Angie's list member, I purchased a coupon that I didn't use. After expiration, the vendor said that he would happily honor my expired coupon, which was very gracious. Unfortunately, I wasn't ready for his services then, and so much time had passed that I didn't contact him again.

The tech people Shawn sent to our home, Hugo and another man, were highly motivated and used a remarkable amount of creative energy and thinking to get a rather complicated job done right. Great experience! Will use them again.

I've used HDAV a couple times before and was always impressed with their knowledge and pricing. We recently moved and had them back out to re-install our 2 large screen TVs. The techs were very nice and hard working but made a few mistakes first with drilling into the wall and then realizing there was concrete behind it (probably could have been seen from window if more observant) and then installed a cable so tightly that it broke the minute we tried to hook it into our box. Shawn gave my husband some atttitude about this when we called and requested to have it replaced since it happened about 20 minutes after the techs installed it. It took a week for the cable to be replaced and since then we've been getting random strange loss of feed for a few seconds every once in awhile when we watch DVDs. It feels like a defective cable. Overall they are great at mounting to your liking but I found the pricing way more expensive than what they've charged me in the past at my other homes for the same service and I didn't like the attitude that came along with an unsatisfactory complaint.

I am not one to write reviews, but these guys were so over the top, I have to share how amazing they were. The actual hook up was smooth, non stressful, and turned out beautiful. Everything was neatly done, clean and very professional. The two guys who came in to set everything up were over and above professional and very well versed in their respective area. I am extremely happy with the end result and would recommend using them. I had a few questions after they left and they were happy to assist. The price, the quality and the finished product came together better than I could have imagined. Use these guys and enjoy your new system!

I cannot recommend Shawn and his team more highly! Initially,I called for a price bid,as I had no idea what a small home theatre would cost.Shawn was over at my house within an hour,and had an estimate for me that evening.Not only are his prices more than fair,but the quality of work and attention to detail is superior! If you are an audio/video expert,Shawn is a great resource.If you need a guide to help you choose the best products,Shawn does that too....Now,back to my new T.V. !!

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It wasn't clear in their deal that if they didn't find studs, they would charge more. We ended up spending a lot of time with them doing the work and then arguing about who paid for what. The work wasn't of the highest quality. I argued successfully and didn't have to pay the additional $100. It would have been easier if they had disclosed exactly what was included in their deal.

How did it go? In one word... Excellent! As I mentioned above, Shawn worked with me to develop a master plan for our home. We were very pleased with his proposal (including a demo) and his flexibility to work with our timing/budget. This audio/video work is part of a larger renovation and we ultmately decided that only the wireless, home theater, music streaming (Sonos) and 1st floor zone would be done this round. I am very pleased, however, that we have a clean plan for the 2nd floor when the time comes. Also, to reiterate... Shawn was endlessly patient with my attention to the smallest details, which made me comfortable that all bases had been covered. Regarding the quality of work, I would give Shawn's team an "A" rating. They were punctual, polite, very clean and clearly knew what they were doing. I'm a bit of a neat-freak and want everything well organized, including wiring for TV/Phone/Internet/Speakers, The work was done exactly as I requested and as Shawn suggested it would be. After completion, some things needed to be tweaked and Shawn was immediately available to finalize the issues. Overall, this was a big and complicated project (at least for me). I worked through Angie's List and separately thrrough referrals to obtain bids for the work. Shawn was was unquestionably the best fit for our needs. From beginning to end, it was a good experience. And we are very, very pleased with the result. I highly recommend HIgh Def Audio/Video and look forward to working with them in the future!

The work turned out well, and they were efficient

The project went very well. I called Shaun for an appointment to install a TV mount and TV on my kitchen wall. He was able to send out his workers within the week. The workers arrived on time. They were friendly and professional. Initially I inquired about running the wires inside the wall. This was attempted by the workers. However, after making a hole in the wall to run the wires inside an access problem beyond the scope of this crews job description presented itself. They informed me that an electrician was needed to run the wires in the wall from the attic. I opted to consider hiring an electrician at a later date. I was willing to accept an alternative solution that involved installing the TV on the wall with minimal visualization of the wires. Utilizing the hole that was created for running the wires the workers made helpful suggestions and did a great job of hiding the wires in the hole and adding a cover plate. They ran extension cord along the kitchen window frame, (hidden behind the curtains), and plugged it in the nearby wall socket located near the floor. They creatively attached the wireless cable box to the back of the wall completely hidden behind the TV. They completed the job in about 1-1/2 hrs. which included a trip to Home Depot for an extension cord. They cleaned up the area nicely after the job was completed. The wires and cable box were effectively hidden. I now have more free space on my kitchen counter top. The unit looks great! I also received credit for a $25 coupon offered on Angie's List website. I was very happy with the job!

Shawn and his crew are the epitome of professional. They are all so knowledgeable, have great ideas, and in my home, basically performed miracles as it was a very "problem child", very unique access. They basically had to clean up someone else's poor attempt at installing a system. After Shawn told me what all my options were, he was not aggressive at all about "pushing products" on me. I would highly recommend this company to anyone, especially to someone who does not have this kind of technical knowledge. Shawn is incredibly patient and kind, and never makes you feel stupid. His crew is extremely professional, neat and clean (did not leave a speck of dust behind even though I told them I would clean up), and also incredibly helpful and patient. Again, I highly recommend this company and will continue to use them for all my technical needs.

The price was right and the job was perfect. The company arrived on time, and the workers knew exactly what they were doing. The finished job was very professional. They had to cut holes in the wall to run cables, and they mounted a special bracket to hold the TV securely. Within 30 minutes the job was completed, the TV was perfectly installed on the wall, and they cleaned up so well you couldn't tell that any work had been done.

It went great. This is something I've wanted to do probably since I first held a remote control as a kid. I had met with one other vendor and they tried to up-sell me on more than I wanted to do plus their pricing was much higher than High Definition. Shawn came by and listened to everything I wanted to do. I was certainly on a budget but Shawn did convince me to buy from him and have him install in-ceiling speakers. I'm glad I stepped up and listened to him. Not only do they look great but they sound amazing. Much better than my old speakers I was going to have him hang on the walls. Living Room TV - Hung a 65 inch TV. Looks great. No visible wires and the guys were very careful with asking for my input on where I wanted it. Speakers - Installation of in-ceiling speakers which I purchased from High Definition. They went in the attic crawl space and cut openings for the speakers. Everything looks great. My wife is picky about how things were going to look and she had no complaints and is very happy. Wiring in Closet - I had originally planned on having all components for living room TV in a specific closet but unfortunately it wasn't possible. The guys gave me 2 other options and everything worked out great. They even had to extend the shelving in the closet in order to make sure all the components fit. Very professional looking and it all works great. Patio TV - Hung 39 inch TV which gets its picture from an HDMI splitter from the living room (Shawn's idea). Again, my wife was a bit nervous on how this was going to look but it looks amazing. Very professional. Speakers - Hung 2 speakers which are wired to living room receiver in closet. Again, no wires visible and looks and sounds great. Bedroom Hung 40 inch TV Kitchen Hung 24 inch TV Overall, I'm extremely happy with the work done. Everything looks and sounds great. The guys did a very professional job. Shawn actually couldn't be there for the job but the 3 guys that work for him were just great. Very friendly and professional. It did take them all day to get everything done. Plus, there was one problem with the way things were wired and I asked them to come back and they were more than happy to. Couldn't say enough great things about this company and the job they did.

Everything went great. Shawn and his team were very courteous. They were done in about 90 minutes to 2 hours. They cleaned up the dry wall dust and everything was put back as they found it. I was only scheduled to have 2 TVs set up but ended up having all 3 done and wired. Great work. Will use again.

We were happy with them though. We used the big deal within a month. There were no additional charges to the $189 big deal. This was the first time we used them. Based on what I recall they did a good job. We never had any problem with their installation. The price was reasonable.

He kept pushing that i needed all these extra cables and connections. I did not know until later on that my TV already had all that built in. I think that maybe he was not aware of the newere te4chnology that is coming out, but he did a good job installing the Tv on the wall mount

Shawn and his team (Hugo and his guys) installed a Sonos wireless audio system in my house. (And Apple TV on two TVs.) Seven audio zones with Niles speakers and a powerful amp to power the whole thing. It took two days to install. The men were prompt, neat, and professional. The system performs superbly, and they taught me how to use it easily. I am very happy with the results and can recommend them highly.
