I Spoke with Shawn the owner who was helpful, and he sent Hugo and Hector to install a TV mount the next day. The work was very professionally done in two hours, they were fast and very tidy. I discussed my ideas for a home theater and I got advice which was helpful, even though I did extensive research myself and knew what I wanted to spend. A week later I called them to install the system and components I had purchased myself. Even a super short notice, Shawn took on the job the very next day, and the guys came back. Most installations will have issues or challenges or at the very least, options that need to be addressed in order to get the system you want, in the budgeted time and cost. My room had challenges regarding the hiding of wires and positioning of projector, but after discussion, the guys solved the issues, making the system blend into the environment as best it could. I spent a little more than I wanted, but these were costs associated with cables and the fact I opted to purchase and install a master controller, which worked great and freed me and my family from about 8 other remotes...no hard sell, just options that really made sense. I now have a great home theater with a projector, huge screen, great sound and spent 2500 on all the equipment and 1200 on the install for a full day of labor (the cables and master controller were extras). Highly recommend High Definition!

They showed up for the estimate appt. on time, gave me a price, came the next morning to do the install. In and out in an hour.

Shawn is great. He's very professional and very punctual. His prices are very competitive and they work fast and are very clean.

Shawn was able to come out and give us an at home estimate within 24 hours of being contacted. He was professional, courteous and listened carefully to all our requirements. We had a couple of issues we were unsure of how to solve and he was able to provide suggestions and solutions for everything including pointing out a couple of issues we had not previously thought of. He was always prompt at providing an estimate and communicating to set-up a work day soon after. We had contacted 3 other companies for estimates previous to Shawn and found them all to suffer from lack of communication, sheer rudeness and exorbitant pricing. Shawn was right on the mark price wise as well as professional and polite. He works with a Direct TV rep who was able to help us set up our cable subscription and then Shawn and his team collected the hardware and set everything up for us on the day. We provided the two TVs - one for the bedroom and one for the living room and he provided the mounts, cables, 5 built-in surround sound speakers, subwoofer, amp, sonos base station, volume control dials for 3 rooms, universal remote, blue ray DVD player and labor. The guys worked so h****** the day to get it all done. There were a few surprises in terms of cabling on the day but the guys worked through until 7:30 at night to ensure everything was done before they left. Pristine clean-up afterwards and it all LOOKS so lovely and is fitting with the decor of the house. We couldn't be more pleased with the system. It all works and sounds perfect - just as we discussed with Shawn. We are greatly enjoying all the perks of our top-end media system now. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Shawn and his team. In fact we will have them back over the years as we expand our system even further.

Fantastic experience with High Def Audio / Video company . The 2 techs that came out were on time , thoughtful , professional . They got my 2 systems up and running and I also purchased Apple T.V. and a universal remote from them . Hire these guys . All this HDMI , component whatever stuff these days is to much , and I use to be a record engineer ! Leave it to the pros - High Definition Audio and Video !

Shawn was responsive and knowledgeable. I've worked with many audio teams before, and High Definition is top notch and well priced.

Shawn is the BEST AV person we have ever worked with in the LA area. We trust his work and he does a fantastic job.

The work has not yet been completed. He was very hard to reach and when we finally reached him scheduling was difficult and he indicated the location may be out of his service area.

2 installers were very professional and mounted our TV on the wall exactly the way we wanted. We didn't have any of the equipment but they had everything on hand which made things easier for us. We were pleased with their service and would recommend them

I had my eye on Sonos for a while. With summer here I wanted a quality outdoor music solution. I called Shawn on Memorial Day expecting to leave a message for a call back. I was pleasantly surprised when a live voice picked-up the call. Shawn came by later that week in the early evening. We ended up purchasing 3 Play 5 speakers and a connector so that we can play our CD's and turntable to all speakers, including our existing surround sound in our family room. Shawn set everything up within the week that we ordered. We're enjoying having music throughout our home! I just wonder what took us so long to do this. Shawn is professional, creative and fair. We'll use him again for our home audio / video needs.

It turned out okay. They initially put the TV lower than we would have liked. We called and the owner sent them back out to raise it back to where we originally wanted it.

+ I just completed a move from Orange County to Sunland. A few months prior to our move I had installed a 75" big screen with five in-ceiling surround sound speakers. All wiring and components were hid in the wall or a cabinet away from the TV. When we arrived at our new home, we wanted to create a similar system. I left a message with Shan in the late afternoon not expecting to hear back until at best the next day. Shawn contacted me that same evening and came by the next day. We discussed my project and Shawn's crew was out that afternoon and work until after 7 PM. They came back the next morning as promised and completed the job. Not only did it meet my expectations, but Shawn had some ideas that enhanced what I originally requested. Simply put, these guys were great!. I would certainly recommend them to family and friends without hesitation.

Sean and his team are terrific. It took a couple week to schedule and the install went well. The install team stayed to make sure I was satisfied. After hearing a slight crackle from one of the speakers, they removed and replaced with a good one without any hassle, all same day. I told Sean that I may want a better sub, and even after a few months of use he gave me full store credit towards a better sub that suits me. All Sean cares about is making sure you are happy with the service and result, which I am. If you are not in the business of fishing wire and want a professional/finished look, call Sean @ High Definition, you won't regret it!

Our experience with High Definition Audio Video went fine. I don't have much to say about the situation. They came, mounted our TV and left. Not a lot happened. I was a little surprised that I had to pay additional fees. They were responsive and friendly. I think there should have been more clarification about what I bought for the price of the Big Deal.

Called to schedule an appointment. No one showed at 8:30 am as planned. Got a sheepish phone call at 8:50, with a "Guess I missed my window, huh?". No apology, no follow up calls. Thoroughly unimpressed.

Obtained estimates from various vendors. Negotiated with Shawn Gallegos via email and phone. He also visited site to review set-up. Was willing to charge actual labor time if less than estimate. Stated that he would be present to supervise two workers who were full-time employees and provide instructions. Arranged work on day when I would be present. Shawn arrived, then men. Each had trucks which were fully equipped with supplies and extra stock of equipment. Speaker bar was apparently wrong one provided by Shawn's vendor. He left and returned with the proper one while Hugo and other co-worker worked on installation. Very neat. Used care in not scratching floor, walls or cabinets. Shawn provided information on Apple Connect which he had on hand. He installed two of them which was not part of original agreement. At conclusion of work, he provided instructions on how to use Sonos system, helped me download Apps on iPhone and iPads. Work took entirety of estimated 6 hours. Except to get replacement speaker bar, Shawn was present to supervise and give me instructions on how to use the newly programmed universal remote. Next day, workers returned to address connectivity issues with remote. They returned the day after to follow-up again until issues resolved, all without complaint or extra charge. Shawn also encouraged me to contact him again if any installation problems persisted. I was very satisfied with Shawn and his workers' work and would not hesitate to use again.

This was over a year ago, so I'm not remembering all the exact details, but I purchased a coupon on Angie's List for a Home Theater tune-up/evaluation. I don't remember the gentleman's name, but he came out and took a look at my system. What I really needed was to have my Universal Remote re-programmed because I had installed a new A/V receiver and some of the functionalities were not working on the remote. He came out and tried to solve my problems, and worked very hard at it, but was unable to fix the problem. He suggested I contact the A/V receiver manuf. and download some files and to call him back, both of which I did. He did return, begrudgingly it seemed to me, but he was still unable to fix the problem. At that point he said the only solution was to switch receiver brands, and persuaded me to purchase a new Denon model that had ALL the features of my old receiver, including the ability to have wireless internet access. I paid him the $400-500 for the new receiver, which he then installed and programmed. Everything works fine, except the unit requires HARD WIRED internet, not wireless, which is totally useless to me, but I didn't discover this for several weeks. Part of the reason for my poor rating was his attitude. It was all very friendly and professional at first, but when he couldn't resolve the problem on his initial visit, things changed. Granted, he had a head cold, but he was constantly being interrupted by phone calls which made it very difficult to communicate clearly with him because were always being interrupted. Something was happening that was aggravating him, and this carried over to his work. He seemed like he couldn't wait to get out of here. Look, we all have bad days, and maybe he just had several while working here. But I paid WAY more than I should have and still don't have the system I want.

They did a great job. The scheduling was good, they didn't leave long and they were efficient and friendly.

The team showed up on time and spent a full day wiring the house. They took great care to clean up and wore booties inside the house. They even when the extra mile to create patch panel cables.

It may seem odd to write a review for someone who didn't do anything, and a positive one at that, but I wanted to do so. My request: connect my TiVo. Simple enough, right? Wrong. My TV, although it says HGTV, isn't. I was willing to buy the converter that was necessary, if he just told me which one. This guy was great and honest with me. He said, "Well, I CAN put this all together and rig it up so that it works, but honestly, it will cost you just about as much to get a brand new TV." So, that is what I'm going to do. The reason for the positive review: 1) he didn't charge me 2) he was honest I had a previous vendor who charged me $ 100, after standing me up twice, AND didn't fix a darn thing. (It was my fault that I paid him. I think I was in shock.)

I think their price is expensive and that’s why I didn’t go with them.

All equipment and all service was impeccable. Shawn, the owner of High Definition... has the integrity, honesty, responsiveness, and pride that I always hope for when I hire any company. Just as important, the picture and sound system are amazing, I'm very demanding about picture and sound, as I sit in screening rooms for my job, and hear/see only the best quality. Use this Company!

Shawn was super responsive. Within a day of my AL inquiry, he called and we set up a time to meet. He showed up promptly and was able to advise on how to fix/correctly set up my system. He recommended some enhancements to make the system easier to use. With the cost of hardware (cables, surge) it was a reasonable price, and I now have a fully functioning system. Great - I was pleased. Quick and no hassle!
