Alex was very courteous and knowledgeable. What I thought might be difficult tasks were easy for him. He was very careful of the surroundings and and left the place clean. I will definitely hire him again.

As I requested, Alex called ahead to let me know he was on his way. He arrived on time, checked the machine, explained and showed me what was wrong. He found the parts he needed locally and finished the repair the same day. The machine is 20+ years old, but it works like new now. Alex was very professional but personable, and he was careful to explain everything he was doing. I am very pleased, and I will definitely call him again for future appliance needs.

Out of four contractors I contacted through Angie's List a few very rainy Saturdays ago, Mr. Fix Home Services (sole proprietor Alex) was the only one to reply - and he replied immediately! He offered to come out Sunday morning, which was definitely unexpected given the weather. Within an hour or so, he had completely dismantled my dryer, assessed the cause of the loud thumping (from my prior research on YouTube, I guessed it was going to be a roller, or maybe the belt, but after watching a video or two, I definitely knew it wasn't something I wanted to tackle personally), and installed a new roller. While the machine was open, he cleaned and lubricated the entire thing before reassembling. My dryer now happily hums again and works perfectly. Alex is a fine example of a professional who not only knows his trade, but also knows the importance of excellent customer service. I recommend Mr. Fix Home Services/Alex without any reservations.

I was a general contractor building million dollar homes in Malibu for 10 years. I share that aspect with readers of this review because in all my time as a builder-developer and since as just a regular homeowner, I have yet to meet a better handyman. Alex is a consummate professional in every regard. He did what was asked, gave expert professional opinions and suggestions about the best solutions and why he would recommend a particular course of action. He never was looking to overwork a problem or overcharge and I would have known immediately, Instead, he looked for the best most efficient solutions that would be in my best interest as a homeowner. I give Alex and his company the highest rating across all fronts. Ps- he is a really great guy and a pleasure to work with.

Alex came out just a few hours after contacting him to get an estimate for repairing our washer. He was very responsive and spent some time diagnosing the problem. Ultimately he said we would spend so much trying to repair this washing machine that we would be better off just buying a new one. He only charged us for his $35 service call.He could have easily taken advantage of the situation but he didn’t. He was very professional and honest, and I will definitely use Dr. Fix again in the future.

Spoke through texts told them the make model of the machine and I was told they had parts showed up took machine apart vacuumed out the dust lubricated parts put back together no parts were replaced even after i pointed out the strange buzz sound machine made when pushing the start button even though the machine ran in there presence. Technician left I tried machine and it failed right away would not run. Basically I paid this money for nothing as technician failed to isolate and fix this issue in the first place thus wasting my time and forcing me to hire someone else to fix it right!

Alex is amazing. Knowledgeable and professional. Unlike a lot of other companies he did not try to sell me parts/labor. Made the quick fix and online payment was easy. We need more individuals like him with such honesty in the services industry. I highly recommend him.

Alex (Dr. Fix) set up an appointment time for the same morning I called him. After having me describe the problem over the phone, he arrived with the parts he felt would solve it, but after checking everything on the washer, he determined that the "timer" needed replacing, which he did not have. He promptly tracked one down on his phone, went out and bought it, and returned in about an hour to fix the washer. Between diagnosing the problem, getting the part, and completing the repair, it took about 3 to 4 hours.His fee was very reasonable (the initial service call was only $35.00.) He showed me online what the cost of the part was (over $160.00!) that he was buying, so I felt confident that he was charging me the appropriate amount. He was very courteous and professional throughout the service call and I would not hesitate to call him again.

My dog chewed the door frames to my front door and bedroom door. Alex put new frames up on both doors and they look brand new. Very happy with his work and he didn’t over charge me. This is my second time using Alex’s services and will be calling him again if I need to!

I originally contacted Dr. Fix for a proposal to address poor kitchen ventilation in two rental units. Alex from Dr. Fix responded immediately and showed up on time for our same day appointment. He walked me through all of the options. He clearly understood the challenges of making upgrades to an old 1929 building. Alex is a smart, honest business person. He recommended a simple but effective solution -- a solution that wouldn't make him tons of money, but that made the most sense. He earned my trust. During his visit, two of my tenants approached me with repair needs (this always seems to happen). Thankfully, Alex had the skill to immediately address four or five repairs on the spot, saving me from having to schedule my handyman. Alex did a superior job on those tasks. He informed me that Dr. Fix does a variety of home repairs and remodeling projects, not simply appliance installation. If you need something done at your home or rental property, I'd call Dr. Fix to see if they handle it. The service and professionalism is top notch.

Alex came out the same day I contacted him and fixed it in under an hour. Huge lifesaver. Alex is very professional as well and won’t over charge you. Will definitely use his services again.

Our washer stopped working Alex with Dr Fix came to our home promptly, took apart our washer. found the problem as well as a small leak that could have caused more problems. Alex explained what he needed to do, talked to me about the cost compared to replacing the machine. His price was reasonable so we went with the repair. He ordered the parts needed and returned faster than expected. So I called him Saturday and my washer was repaired perfectly Monday afternoon. He showed me the parts he removed and explained what he had done. The price was very reasonable and Alex was professional and polite. I will be glad to use him again and recommend him to my friends.

It was great. I tried to fix whole in our wall where I noticed mice had been getting in (I saw lots of droppings). I tried to fix it and wound up exposing a larger hole while tearing up the vent tube. I called Alex first thing in the morning. I had never used him. He had an appointment over the hill (I'm in the valley) but he lived close and came by an hour later and replaced the hose and gave me the right advice about patching. It's never easy to get someone to come out immediately but he did. He's very nice, worked fast, and I thought the price was fair. I would use him again and plan to call him for additional handyman type stuff. Very pleasant experience!
