Watkins Carpet Cleaning

Scott was on time, friendly and professional. He started out by explaining the process that would take place and the type of cleaning solutions he would be using. We have older furniture with an unusual type of fabric on it which made us hesitant to clean it ourselves. The chair, which is rather large, had been soiled by company spilling liquid on it. We had talked to various furniture stores and upholsterers and they were all uncertain as to how to safely clean this fabric. The usual suggestion was that we should have the furniture reupholstered. Scott agreed that this was a tough material to clean and could be ruined if not done properly. I'm happy to say he was able to clean the chair to point that it looks new. The other furniture and pillows were cleaned to the same level. He also told us the best way to care for the furniture. He did not leave until the furniture was cleaned to our satisfaction. He did a thorough clean up and put everything back in its place. My wife and I are quite satisfied with Scott's work and will definitely use his services again. I would recommend Watkins Carpet Cleaning to everyone.

I do not post reviews immediately after a service. Please read the entire review to fully understand the grade of C. First, the company was reluctant to come to my house since I live outside the company?s normal service area, so the owner wanted to charge me extra for the distance. I was a little perturbed at the increased rate since the company is only 35 miles away, which in Southern California is not very far. But since the company had been well reviewed on Angie?s List, I agreed to the increased charge. The crew, which comprised the owner, his wife, and one helper, arrived near the time agreed upon. I was standing at the front door when they pulled up, and as they approached the front door, the owner, who did not know I was standing at the door, said, ?We need to do this quickly so that we can get [the helper?s name] back on time.? And quick the job was; they were in and out in 33 minutes. Now since I had asked that only the living room carpet (19? x14?) and the hallway (18? x 3?), I can understand the amount of time they spent (I had removed all the furniture from the living room and vacuumed before they arrived so they did not have to worry about moving the furniture) . The reason for the C rating is this: first, Watkins Carpet Cleaning didn?t do anything special. The job was what I would expect from a carpet cleaning company. So the C rating represents Average. They vacuumed the carpet and hallway a second time and steamed cleaned them. That?s it. Nothing about the cleaning wowed me. Truthfully, Watkins Carpet Cleaning didn?t do anything that I couldn?t have done myself. Second, the owner, after cleaning the carpet and hallway, wanted to spray them with ScotchGard or Dupont Teflon protector (I do not remember which one). I explained that we did not wear shoes on the carpet nor did we eat or drink in the living room, so the chances of us spilling anything or tracking dirt onto the carpet was minimal. That did not dissuade the owner from urging me to have him treat the carpet and hallway. In fact, one of his arguments was that he had driven ?all the way from Redlands to here.? I finally agreed to the $25 fee for the treatment, but asked him to cut the ratio of repellant to water to a minimum, so he diluted the mixture as I asked, but the treatment was simply a spritzing from a hand-held plastic spray bottle. He quickly and rather randomly sprayed the treatment on the carpet and on the bottom row of books that lined the bottom shelf of the book case in our living room. He was in a hurry and the spraying was sloppy. The treatment was definitely not worth $25. For the reasons above, I will not have Watkins Carpet Cleaning come back, but there one more reason that has nothing to do with the actual cleaning: I consider the owner rude, not to me, but to his wife and helper. I was raised to say ?Please? and ?Thank you? to people. The owner never once said ?Please? or ?Thank you? or was gracious to his wife or his helper when he told them to do something. He constantly issued commands, for example, ?Get hot water from the kitchen? or ?Rake the carpet over there.? I did not find his attitude and demeanor appealing. All-in-all I did not find anything special in the work that Watkins Carpet Cleaning did. They did what I would expect from a carpet cleaning company, and if the client lives in the company?s service area, the client may wish to call the company, but because of the rude behavior to the owner?s wife and helper, I would not call the company again even if I lived in the service area.

It went awful; I will not use them again. He talked through the who thing should of focused on his job, the spots reappeared after he left.

They did a great job! Carpet looks wonderful They were right on time and very nice, very professional. We will definitely call them again in the future.

My carpet cleaner recently retired. Thanks to Angie's List , I have a new one - Scott Watkins of Watkins Carpet Cleaning. Mr. Watkins and Ken, his able assistant, arrived on time and had the job done in two hours. They were able to remove some nasty stains. The carpet was cleaned, sanitized and scotch guarded. Scott has many years of experience and he takes great pride in his work. I heartily recommend Watkins Carpet Cleaning.

It was a fabulously. Mr. Watkins and son were friendly, professional and got the job done in a timely fashion. They even cleaned an outside mat and steamed a discoloration on my cement walkway which I appreciated very much.

I would have preferred to receive a refund for the job if they cannot remove the stains, and then I would gladly retract this poor review.

We were able to get our carpet very clean within a timely manner. They also took the time to move the plastic office mats and any other small objects from the floor to reach as much carpet as possible. With the time between the quote given and the date of service there was no change in the quoted price. Stood by their original quote.

They were reliable and very friendly. Scott explained exactly what he was going to do before performing the service, and how the services were going to help the carpet. I felt that the charge was very fair. It was much lower than the previous cleanings I have had.

The service guy was on time and did extra things and gave a great deal.

Watkins is a small husband and wife outfit that probably shouldn't work together. They started out very well, but the job ended in chaos. Everything was good until Watkins decided to put the cushions on the lawn so that they would dry faster. The sprinklers came on and soaked the cushions. The wife panicked and couldn't figure out how to get the cushions back in the house. She was bringing them in one at a time instead of just moving all of them on the tarp out of harms way. The husband was yelling at his wife and my wife was busy cleaning up the mess they made. What should have been a two hour job turned into 4 plus hours and only ended when my wife threw them out because she was late for work. Nice, well meaning and hard working couple but the husband definitely needs to step up his game and get some experienced workers to help him next time.

Courtesy calls to me made before the day and date of arrival alerting me to their status. Arrived on time. Proper introductions of the workers was made. Explaned in detair of the work to be performed as well as possible areas which may require extra effort. Small furniture or items were move and returned to original place. Very Detailed and quick in the execution of duties. A very enjoyable experience if you have to have your carpets cleaned!

They were punctual & did the job greatly. They did more than what I expected.

I knew my carpet was dirty but didn't realize how dirty until Scott got to work. I was shocked. When he was through, they let me know they also cleaned furniture and gave me a great deal on my two rocker recliners. I absolutely recommend them to anyone needing this service.

As a non-profit, we have a lot of traffic in the office and we definitely needed a conservative price. This provider met us, listened to our needs, and offered a conservative estimate, $100-200 below other providers. The Watkins crew was caring, professional and they lived up to every promise. The work was timely, efficient and effective. I purposely waited this long to offer a review so I could determine if stains and darkened traffic patterns would immediately reappear as has happened with other cleaning services. I'm very happy to report that we've already had @200 people throughout the office and the carpets and chairs still look and feel great. Thank you, Watkins Carpet Cleaning!!! P.S. I have no relationship or prior acquaintance with anyone involved in Watkins, so my review is based solely upon their performance. My carpets look like new. There was heavy grease on the carpet in my garage. It now looks like new. I am impressed by the results of Watkins Carpet Cleaning. They have my business for life.

Scott Watkins and his wife came an hour later than the scheduled time, due to an employee needing to go to the hospital unexpectedly. When he arrived he took a look at my carpet telling me he could get rid of several stains. He mentioned that his machine was superior to others and that it was more efficient and thorough in the cleansing process. He told me stairs were $50 extra and not included in the $100 deal, so I agreed to add that to the cost. He finished within an hour, and it looked alright to me. The next day when the carpet dried, I saw additional stains that were not present before. Also, the stains which he told me he could get out without a problem were still visible as well. I contacted Scott about it, and he told me that he would need to charge $50 extra to take care of it, and that since I didn't purchase a sort of 'guarantee' initially, that it was not quite 'guarenteed' work. I declined, and now will have to find another way to remove these stains. Aside from all this, the carpet was overall much cleaner than before.

Procedure a bit unconventional. Was expecting truck mount instead of hand cleaner. A bit over zealous as far are being professional. Very respectful and did a good job.

He arrived on time. Usually truck pulls up and a long hose comes into the house but he has this very compact machine that did a very good job. I have just moved into the home and we never seemed to be able to get the dust out of the carpet and he explained why plus assuring the spots would be gone and they are. At the end of the cleaning he applies a Teflon protector to the carpet. With 3 dogs and 4 people it is worth every penny. The carpet is now much softer. Before I knew it they were done and he said he also does upholstery so I had him do three chairs. He also cleaned my two front door mats at no charge. Who does that anymore? My daughter has been mentioning the unpleasant smell in the house since I moved in but she says it isn't there anymore.

I have used this company before. They are so acomadating. They tell you up front what they are going t do how long it will take and how much it will cost. I am in a wheel chair. I also live in the montains and very few companies will bother to come here because they do not like the drive. They came to my home on time. The wife is the head of this operation. She does the scheduling and takes the order. When they arrived I was not able to prep for them. They came in moved all the furiniture and took care of my lamps and picturesetc. I have a horrible traffic area from my kitchen to to front door. I have black wheels on my wheel chair and it really leaves a mark. They paid special attention to that area they even got down on thier knees and used a hand brush to scrub it. The carpets dry quickly. They are pleasant and work very hard. I would recomend them to anyone. If they can keep my white carpets looking this good then they have my vote. I say if you need deep cleaning on your rungs or carpet call Watkins today! I own a small business so I know customer service. They excel in this. They are not satisfied until the customer is. I know how much carpet cleaning can cost so if you are going to spend the money then do it right. They do it right.

Watkins Carpet Cleaning was a no hassle experience from arriving on time, to quoting a fair price, to getting the job done quickly and professionally. Pet stains that other companies have been unable to remove, Watkins took care of to our satisfaction. They are a family owned business and I felt very comfortable with their integrity and know-how. I will use them again and would highly recommend them.

Scott was very responsive since I initially sent him an email based on the 'super deal'. He is fairly close but farther than I originally anticipated. He gave me an arrival time period and arrived at the mid point. He had 2 other workers with him and they jumped right to it. He did a walk through and provided a written estimate. I also added my dining rooms chairs as an afterthought for upholstery cleaning. He redid two of my rooms because it wasn't to his 'liking' and I love the fact that he has 'pride' in his work!!! Although the carpets were not completely dry when they left, I kept the house open with the cleaning fans on and later remembered a fan I had in the garage, so used that to have completely dry carpets in the morning. The dining rooms chairs are now spotless! My husband was amazed at the appearance of the carpet when he came home. There is only one area that I noticed they did not get out completely and most likely due to age of stain, pale one so not terribly worried.

Husband and wife team, very polite and courteous. They kept in contact with me, called and let me know they were on their way,we setup for between 10:00 am and 11:00 am and they were here by 11:00 am. He came in and looked at what he was going to clean and got all their equipment and got started. We have some electrical issues but the gentlemen took care of it. They accidently knocked a coffee cup of the counter and they felt bad and ended up cleaning my area rug also as a" I am sorry". They were here for 1 hour and I did appreciate the fact they didn't try to sale me other stuff. They did what I hired them for. Very friendly and concerned about how they did the job and leaving things cleaned up. I will recommend this company to anyone that asks.

Carpet was very dingy, spotted, full of dried soap. Been cleaned numerous times by well known company, but never looked cleaned. Decided to give Watkins a try & he performed a miracle. Scott used a variety of products and lots of hard work and my carpets look new. Did such a good job, I had him come back on 2/17/14 to clean my bedroom carpet. he redid the slightly darker walkway areas of the first 3 rooms and they look even better, for no extra cost. He takes great pride in his work and results, kept me informed of what he was using and trying and the end results are amazing. He is now the only company I will use. the previous company sold me a year's worth of cleaning, but never produced the results that Watkins carpet cleaning company did in one application. I even replaced one room of carpeting last year, because it looked so bad and my carpet was only 7 yrs old. now, it looks brand new and does not have to be replaced. Scott saved me a lot of money and effort with his hard work. Thank you!!!!
