Update: Don the service manager called me shortly after to apologize for leaving me in such a negative situation. He was very polite and said counseling was given to the tech that came out. He offered any consultation free of charge and did not charge me for the original service call. He said to call him anytime. So he did, in my opinion, make amends. I have used them in the past and never had an issue like this, and I suspect that kind of service wont happen again. Original post: I was not there, my wife was. Tech came out to service and when he opened it, he saw a charred (melted) capacitor and a relay that was not being used. He proceded to pull out the 2 components. This disabled the system. Mind you, the system dId blow cold air before he came out. He then gave an estimate to my wife for $967!!!! Said the fan motor needed to replaced as well. He left the system disassembled and inoperative. He didn't clean the fins or anything else. This was during the first hottest weekend of the year. 100 degrees!! I have a home warranty, and the warranty company will not cover the AC unit if it is not assembled. I had someone else come out and repair it for parts and labor for $150. Said the motor fan is noisy but works and the melted capacitor was due to another capacitor shorting.

We've used them for the last 25 years and everything about them is good.

The overall experience was very good. We would definitely use Burgeson's again and highly recommend their company.

The representative showed up on time, was very courteous and professional. Clearly explained what he was doing and the state of my (very very old) units. Offered a yearly plan and warned me to start budgeting to replace my furnace (it's 35 years old!), but did not pressure sale or suggest unnecessary work.

The technicians worked clean and efficiently and completed the job in five days. All the Edison rebate paperwork was handled in a timely manner and a check was received in about four weeks.

Initial call was placed because our a/c stopped working. Brock the tech. came out the next day, and after checking everything out , our circuit board and blower capacitor was found damage. The circuit board had to be order. Brock by passed something, so we could have cool air, which I thought was sooooo thoughtful. Couple days later , Brock arrived and fixed all the problems. My husband and I will have this company come back for maintenance.

See the description above for the dos and donts from - there were no dont's only good dos. As you can see since I signed up for the yearly air conditioning/heating service, I highly recommend this company. This is a slight correction to my earlier e-mail report ... I was advised to clean the air conditioning condenser with a water hose once a month/repeat once a month not once daily. I made an error in my original report to you. I was quoted an appointment between 9-11 AM. I called 10 minutes to 11 to ask if they were going to show up. The called me back within a few minutes to tell me the technician took longer in a previous appointment and was now on his way. He called me when he couldn't find my house at about 11:30, which many people do since my street ends and starts again a block over. I had an idea of what was wrong based on some research. Sure enough Gary found the capacitors were the culprits and quickly changed them out. The fan came on right away and the compressor started to smoke. He inspected the terminals and told me it was a bad connection, so he fixed that. He talked to me about the system, what it would need to run more efficiently and inspected the air handler in my house. He gave me a lot of information and set me up for someone to come out and quote me a replacement since this one is old and inefficient. During all that he was monitoring the refrigerant and told me I was good there. Gary took his time with me explaining my system, what looks to have been done to it in the past and what I need to do on my own to get it performing better. He didn't have to do any of that and I really appreciate it. I didn't like that the dispatcher didn't let me know he wasn't going to be out on time but Gary's knows his stuff. I thought $310 was a little high but by no means is that a rip off. Overall I'm very satisfied and with the services performed and will definitely use them again.

I cannot recommend this company and Brock particularly enough!! We had a pretty bad water leak and damage. When we figured out it was from the AC we started hunting for someone to come out. We found Burgeson's and I am so grateful we did!. They were able to get to our house the same day! They gave a time window of 2-5 they showed up at 2:30. Brock was very friendly and professional. He detected the problem explained to us and gave us an estimate to repair with in 20min. The price was great considering we have had horrible experiences with other companies which charged us far more for far less! I have decided to use them on a maintenance basis, as our water leak most likely would have been prevented! Please call them they wont disappoint you! Ask for Brock!

Wonderful. Right on time. Very pleasant man. Very knowledgeable. He explained what the problems were. Did not take too long. I will ask for him the next time I call.

I wasn't satisfied with the estimate that I had received from another local HVAC repair company, so I joined Angie's List and found that Burgeson's had a very strong reputation. I called them on Thursday to set up an appointment for Friday. The repair man, Gary, was right on time. He asked if any previous diagnostics had been done on the system, and then proceeded to independently verify the results of those diagnostics. Gary was very professional. His service was quick but comprehensive. Gary was able to get us up and running by replacing the run capacitor and a connector for $340. He did warn us that there was a very slight restriction in the system and that it was up to me to decide whether to repair it or not. He explained to me where the restriction may have come from, as well as the likelihood that it could be removed. It would cost another $900 to remove it. The other repair company had insisted on eliminating the restriction, replacing all the coolant, and even wanted to redesign the intake system. The cost would have been about $5600. I simply couldn't afford that option. I certaintly don't think anyone was dishonest, but I very much appreciate the flexibility that Burgeson's has towards letting the customer have input as to the viable repair options. Best yet, I've got air conditioning again, and it's 109 degrees outside!

It all started July 29th when the fan quit working on the A/C. I thought perhaps this was caused by a defective thermostat, played with that for awhile and gave up. 830am July 30th did a search of Angies List and settled on Burgeson's heating and a/c in Redlands. My call was handled by a very energetic woman and the particulars of the problem were taken. A 2PM appointment was made. I advised that if something should happen and a tech could show up sooner, then the better. 1230PM Lance arrived,reviewed what the problem(s) were and started to work. The thermostat (internet programable) was found to be defective and was replaced with the old one. This got the HVAC unit started. As soon as it did, Lance detected there was a problem and shut the system down. Up to the roof he went on an 89 degree and humid day. He found a burnt capacitor, burnt circuit board, burnt wires in the unit. There was a relay that was literally toast. The parts were not cheap (they never are) but he got the system back on line in 2 hours or so. That included having another tech drop of the new circuit board! 310PM - Burgeson's contacted me to so a 'survey' call. There were given high marks. I am very satisfied with Burgeson' prompt service. I was not looking forward to facing the August heat with no A/c

You are asking too much, we were very pleased with the work and all we marked, excellent, what more can I say. I'm not certain of the dates, it was on a Monday in Junbe I'm pretty sure.

It was a good experience. The service was all inclusive. They did a good job.

They do excellent service. It was a special that I brought from Angie’s List to check the air-conditioning system. They checked it out and gave me some points so forth and said that it was all okay. They actually cleaned the unit itself as the coils needed to be cleaned and that was the problem.

As I knew this was going to be an expensive project, I got over 7 bids...most of them from Angie's list and all with A ratings but I also included a couple well known companys such as Home Depot whose price was more than $4000 over the average bid. I also had Sears come out and they did send a rep.... but I never received a quote even though I e mailed them twice asking where was the bid, however I did get two phone calls following up asking what I though of the 'bids' so......!At Burgeson's, I dealt with Kevin Burgeson and we had a running e mail which became quite extensive. I was impressed by his throughness and his integrity and quite frankly, his bluntness. He also offered 0% financing for a year which is a great help to me at this point as I still have to sell my old house. He also responded to e mails with in a very short time. Buregeson's was definately not the cheapest but by going with his top of the line model, the rebates got it extremly close to the other bids.The work went smoothly and quickly.I am very happy I went with them. My next door neighbor is very likely going to have them install an entire new system because of their work and ethics as is my son when he builds his new home.

I first became aware of Burgeson's via the Southern California Edison website because they are a contractor qualified to install HVAC units in their rebate program, which I am getting back $1750. I got bids from three companies and in the end, it was an easy decision who I would go with. According to the Burgeson's website, their sales representatives are not on commission and I believe it. When Dustin came out to give me an estimate, he was totally professional and explained the Lennox systems they install. He had detailed sales material not only to show me but that he left with me so I could read it once he was gone. Unlike another company I called which required a second visit for their quote, Dustin printed out an estimate right then and there that explained the costs and services. I never felt he was trying to pressure me or upsell me on something I didn't need. Furthermore, he told me if I had any questions I could reach him on his cell, which I did do. Once I made my decision, Burgeson was ready to do the install just three days later. Another company said I might have to wait 1-2 weeks. Burgeson's even filed a permit with the city making it totally legitimate. On the day of the install, they accommodated my request to arrive earlier than they normally do. The installers arrived on time and were also very professional and very knowledgeable about what they were doing. They explained everything they were going to do and after the fact also pointed out issues with the system that I had just replaced. I do not have a good track record when having to do the paperwork to get back a rebate. But with Burgeson's, they did my paperwork for me insuring me I will get the $1750 back I am promised from Edison. Thankfully replacing one's HVAC unit is not something one has to do often because it is a huge financial investment that could create a lot of angst. But by using Burgeson's, not only was the total experience stress-free, it's fantastic having this wonderful Lennox air conditioning/heat unit installed that should substantially cut our electric bill by hundreds of dollars each year. There's a reason why Burgeson's has so many good reviews on Angie's List. It is because they are a wonderful company that I am so glad I used.

He did the tunup that incloud rplace the filter and chack for any air leak or gas {freion} and clean the coil plus other things it need to be done and finsh his work on timeand did not leave untill heshore evry things it need to be done is done and i get writin report for what he done,

Burgeson's technician performed excellant work, he advised me on do's and don'ts on a/c unit. I am very satisied with Burgeson's. I would recommend Burgeson's to anyone.

The work was prompt and high quality and done on time. Good Job! But not perfect. The sales process was, as best I can describe it, perfunctory. I felt Andy should have spent a little more time explaining other options. For example, I would have preferred to install a high efficiency system if there was one available, but he did not give me any options even though I asked for them. Perhaps none were available, but he didn't mention it. He has obviously been at the business for a long time and he may have given me the best system available, but he should have taken the time to explain it a little better. That being said, the system works well and the service was very prompt and professional. I would use them again, and recommend them to anyone who asked.

Everything went really well. They were very good and knew what they were doing. They worked out really well for me, I would recommend them.
