Placed a call and left a message the phone call was returned within hours. Scott first provided some possible solutions for me to try to fix the opener. He then made an appointment and showed up on time and provided an estimate and replaced the garage door opener all within the same day. He also provided some advice on a safety issue with the electrical outlet. He was very prompt and professional a very hard combination to find these days. Very pleased with work and highly recommend.

Excellent - he said he would arrive between 3-4 - called at 3:15 to say he was on his way.

Our garage door had been squealing horribly each time we opened and closed it. Within a few minutes, the guy had diagnosed the problem - missing ball bearings, and fixed the door mechanism

Responded in a short time to look at the old garage door, saw what needed and could be done and gave an estimate within a day or two. We even drove him around the neighborhood to show a couple of garage doors we liked (we're picky). He did the work as agreed to, finished it quickly and all that for a good price. We painted the door frame ourselves and later on repainted the door as well.

We chose this company because of they were willing to service my area. They quoted me a reasonable price. They recommended company websites that I should look at to find a door that I like. They gave me some good advice on the door features and a new opener. The door came in a few days later and they gave me a call. We arranged an installation date and they were quick and efficient to install it. They took the old one away. It was easy to use this company. They have a lot of experience and everything went smoothly. He had a lot of product knowledge and explained the features of the door to me and what to expect in the future.

On time and assessed the problem. Gave an estimated cost. Said "do it". Dave(the workman)did it.

I wasn't going to submit a report for Scott's Garage Door, but another member posted a report detailing an experience very similar to mine, which I would like to "second". I needed to replace my roll-up garage door on my Hermosa Beach house with a new automatic garage door (with accent windows). Based on the positive Angie's List reviews and the fact that they supposedly serviced my area, I called Scott first. Scott was very nice, but extremely hesitant to come provide a quote (citing gas prices), even though I tried to effectively convey that I was intending to use his services. When I asked him about selection, etc., he directed me toward a few websites to look at general garage doors and, I believe, told me to call him once I selected a door. Because Scott provided me extremely little guidance and because he seemed so nonchalant about my business, I used another garage door company instead. (As an aside, I ended up spending $1800 on my garage door, which should cover the cost of gas ;) ). While it obviously doesn't bother me if a company doesn't service my area or if the job is too small to make the "trek", the lack of candor left me disappointed.

Very courteous and will definitely call them back when its time for a new motor. Wish they did gate repair.

He was very responsive. He was professional. Everything went very well. The price was right. It was done quickly.

Scott took his time to study my needs. The entrance to the garage is not exactly rectangular (movement from shifting ground). Scott made an original suggestion, considered a little longer, and then came up with a better, cheaper one. He arrived on the day agreed upon and the work was completed to my utmost satisfaction.

The reason I called them is because the Angie's List web site said they service south LA. He said that he could give me a quote over the phone. He gave me a quote for $600 for the door and then $300 for the framing of the metal door and no motor included. He usually charges $75 for a service call, but he would only charge me $30 because I am an AL member. He then said that he doesn't service my area. He didn't act like he wanted to come out or that he even knew where it was. I think that this job isn't big enough for him. The bottom line is that he isn't interested because of where I am located. He shouldn't advertise that he services south LA or east LA if he doesn't. He said that he doesn't come out to do estimates in these areas because of gas prices. But it is a waist of my time to sit and talk to him if he isn't going to give me an honest estimate like he advertises. It seemed like the only way he would do the job is if I gave it to him over the phone. This is false advertising.

Wonderful! Our garage is particularly challenging due to low clearance and other constraints. Scott did everything possible to maximize clearance for our tall minivan, and to ensure that the door operates smoothly. He completed the work in one day, with an assistant, working late into the evening without accepting a penny more for the extra effort.

Scott replaced my old wooden garage door and outdated motorized opener. He was easy to reach on the phone and answered all my questions thoroughly. He then came out to provide a site survey and estimate and, once again, was helpful in guiding me to make the right choices. When he did the job, he was clean and thorough and did excellent work. He offered to come back the next week to install a motion-sensor light switch -- something he meant to install but had left behind -- but I told him don't bother. I appreciated his honesty and willingness to do the best job possible.

Scott was immediately available, punctual and very professional. He needed to return to his shop for heavier duty springs due to misinformation that I provided. He remained very pleasant, got the work done and provided maintenance services and advice at no extra charge.

I called Scott regarding repairs even though a notation came up when I clicked on his company that he did not service in my area. He said that I was on the edge of where he serviced and would be glad to come out. I called him on Monday afternoon and he said that he would be able to come out on Tuesday about 10 a.m. He arrived on time. He was able to fix my door with the parts that were already there. I couldn't be happier.

He actually convinced me NOT to replace the garage door, given the particular space/height limitations of my garage. He was very patient and thorough in explaining the issues with replacing the garage door, and gave me advice on a variety of issues, including how to program my garage door opener. He did all of this knowing that he would not be doing the job, and he charged me nothing for the visit.

I called another company (not from Angie's) and got a phone estimate for $275 (sight unseen) and despite his ad saying 24-hour service was not very flexible with appointment times to accommodate my work schedule. I called Scott, the number on the List is his cell phone and he answered immediately. We discussed the issues and told me his service charge was $75; if things were in good enough shape and he could repair the existing hardware he would only charge the service charge, otherwise he would give me an estimate. He had a call at another customer nearby but said he could come by between 4pm-6pm the same day. He called me at 4pm to tell me the prior job was taking longer but he would be there by 6pm. He showed up at 6 as expected with an assistant. He looked everything over and dove into the repairs. He did all the repairs and did not have to change out any hardware. He put in extra bolts to reinforce both hinges to prevent the same thing from happening again. He adjusted the entire door assembly, recommended different size springs to better balance the door and also said I should replace the door (which was completely appropriate, the door is truly in bad shape) but did not try to sell me additional products or services. He didn't even charge me for the replacement bolts (probably $5 worth of parts). He was very thorough, took his time to do the job right, cleaned up, took my credit card and gave me a $5 discount for finding him on Angie's List. I am extremely happy with Scott's service and would recommend him to anyone.

We had ordered from another company who never delivered. We found Scott on Angie's List. He had 7 good reports so we gave him a try. Very positive results. The other company was trying to sell a custom size. Scott measured and showed us how to use a stock size; he advised on best buy for motor and ordered, delivered and installed exactly on time and on price. He even advised our carpenter on prep. We not only would use him again, we did when our Mesa Garage Door motor failed. Scott replaced it very reasonably and quickly.

We are thrilled with Scott's work. He was on-time for both the free estimate and the work. He's very personable, he works quickly, his work was great and his price was very reasonable. If you're replacing a garage door, do yourself a favor and give him a call.

The job went very smoothly. Scott came with one worker who was very experienced and knew just what to do. They were prompt, courteous, and professional. They did an excellent job and I'm extremely pleased with my new garage door!

Excellent. I immediately recommended Scott to one of my friends. I called Scott on Thursday and he immediately called back. I described the work and he gave me an estimate based on an 8 foot door and we made an appointment for Friday. Scott arrived on time but did not have the proper spring because I misinformed him about the height of the door. Scott rescheduled for Saturday and arrived exactly when he said he would. His price and time estimate were right on. Nice guy and very professional.

It was great. He was on time, friendly and explained the EXACT alternatives and what they would cost, so we could make an informed decision as to what we wanted done. He did the job quickly and well and explained how it all worked. Couldn't be happier.
