Allison Plumbing

This is the second time that Allison Plumbing has come to my rescue. A exterior underground pipe, which feeds the backyard sprinkler system and ends with a spigot had corroded through. I woke one morning to water gushing down the side of my house. I could dig down a little and see a part of the hole, but didn't know how extensive the issue really was This, of course, happened on a Sunday morning. Fortunately, I was able to turn off the water to the outside so that we weren't without water to the house. I called Allison Plumbing and left a message. I received a response and set an appointment later that day for the following morning. Not knowing what was required for this type of repair, I used Angie's List reviews of similar issues to get an estimate of what this type of work would cost. When the gentleman from Allison's Plumbing (I apologize that I don't recall his name) arrived and reviewed the issue, he estimated $225. This estimate fell in the middle of within the range I had anticipated, and since I had used Allison Plumbing in the past and trusted their work, I had him repair and cap the pipe since we didn't use that spigot. As it turned out, part of the pipe was under cement -- which held a fence post. This was chipped away, the pipe was cut back and capped. The work was completed within 2 hours, the mess was cleaned up, and the cost estimate held true. I will use Allison Plumbing in the future and would recommend them to anyone with plumbing needs. Their pricing is fair, responsiveness is immediate, and the quality of the work is top notch.

Doug was able to come on the same day service was requested. He found the leak quick and also checked the garbage disposal out.

Tech was very knowledgable and professional. I was disappointed in the coupon deal but the owner made up for my dissatisfaction and now I am very satisfied.

Hutch arrived on time and had a great attitude- polite and happy. He examined under the sink for a while (I had cleaned it out the night before, temporarily putting everything in a laundry basket), discovered I needed to replace a ceramic faucet stem and he held it out and showed it to me. He asked what make of faucet I was, as it wasn't marked. I told him Price-Pfister, Treviso model, and he got on the phone to see if someone had the part in stock. When they said yes, he then gave a quote for the remainder of the job (I had used a coupon and paid $89 in advance for the service call, which also went toward the cost of repairs). When Hutch left to go get the part, I searched the internet and found the part costs just $10, but I don't know if he needed one for the hot AND cold water sides ( I know; still just $20) or if any other parts were needed. A brand new faucet of the same make and model costs around $120- TIP: that is something to check in advance if you can. Still, since another plumbing service here on Angie's List had charged me $400 LABOR ONLY about 8 years ago to install this same faucet, I felt the price could have been much worse.

Allison Plumbing is very professional. They have good communication. Rebecca even called me after hours to confirm my appointment time. The plumber (sorry forgot his name) showed up early was very professional, got the job done correctly and cleaned up the workspace after he was done.

Doug was nice to me even after my dog bit him, and he fixed my plumbing problem in a reasonable amount of time.

Doug called before he arrived to let me know he was on his way. He was friendly and professional from start to finish. I would gladly have him perform plumbing services in the future.

They had to come out twice to fix the issue. They were very professional. I would recommend them.

Ken was great! Is timely, professional, and gives you the best price possible. His tile man Shawn does beautiful work as well. The shower stall turned out so beautiful! I show all my family before anything else in our new home. My mother in law loves it, and feels so much more safe and secure in this beautiful shower that not only is gorgeous to look at, but literally can be used with anyone needing physical assistance or in danger of falling etc. It is so safe now and spacious. Ken put in every extra I could think of in order to keep my mother in law safe and able to bath in privacy . She absolutely loves it, and again I can stop saying how just plain pretty it is. We should all have such a pretty shower, bench, handles and bottle niches.... Thanks again Ken, love you guys! Rebecca his wife is a sweetheart as well to work with over the phone. Hope to work with these people again in other projects we are considering.

The office provided outstanding communication as to when they would arrive. Hetch arrived on schedule and the garbage disposal was installed as expected. There were some additional piping issues that he fixed. I was very happy to receive the Angie's List discount and am very happy with the work performed. I would highly recommend them.

Johnny was done in about half an hour. He provided his own bucket and towels and left no mess. He was very professional and did a great job!

My wife and I have been remodeling a 1910 Craftsman for the past two years and have hired several plumbers to do small jobs here and there. We hired Allison plumbing to do a total remodel of our kitchen and downstairs bathroom after soliciting several bids. Ken, the senior plumber, spent a lot of time with me discussing our options and giving lots of practical advice even before we hired him. He was very generous and professional. Johnny, Ken's assistant and welder, was also very helpful and paid very careful attention to the details during the bid and throughout the projects completion. Ken and Johnny always arrived and left exactly when they said they would, worked very hard and left the work site as clean as possible. I felt so comfortable with them that I asked them to watch over the house (and electricians) while I drove my wife to a doctors appointment. I found a very small leak under the house after the rough-in was finished and Johnny came out right away, fixed the leak and re examined the whole project to make sure there were no other problems. In addition to being the best plumbing company I have ever hired, they have a secret weapon that other companies would do well to emulate. Rebecca, the co-owner, was incredibly responsive and always seemed to be available to answer scheduling questions. She always answered my texts within minutes and was very kind & encouraging as well. I have nothing but praise for the whole team, and they will be the only plumbers I use as long as we own this house.

They were very accommodating, I got delayed on a flight out of state and they totally worked with me over the phone and informed me of the repairs and cost. They schedule a day to return for the repairs because it was a big job. They were on time and extremely professional. The price came in lower than estimated. Great service, will use them again if needed. !! :)

I purchased the Angie's List deal on Sunday afternoon. Allison plumbing contacted me first thing on Monday because they had a plumber in the area. Johnny came to my house on Monday afternoon and tried to clear up my backed up kitchen sink. Mind you, I have a home that was built in 1924 so things aren't exactly 100% to today's code. He wasn't able to clear the clog with a snake so he said he would back out the next day with his boss and an extra to try to dig out the grease clog. Ken and Johnny came on Tuesday afternoon and again tried to snake out the clog, but this time they undid the piping underneath my kitchen sink because I didn't have a clean out. The whole time, since I was mostly at work, Ken kept me in the loop about what was going on and how much it would cost. They ran a snake through my new clean out and still couldn't get to the clog, but they could hear the snake leading out into the middle of my backyard. It was getting into evening right about now, so they said they'd have to come back again the next morning and try to dig up the backyard to see what the problem was. They spent the morning there digging in the yard and found the issue with the way my pipes were laid out so they cut some of the pipe and put a 'T' to connect the kitchen line to the main sewer line. They were courteous, professional, and kept me in the loop the whole time about everything that was going on. They didn't charge me (aside from the initial cost through Angie's List) until the job was complete and the clog was gone and everything was as it should be. I would definitely recommend Allison plumbing to anyone with plumbing issues. They're a great, and honest group of people!

I thought I would need a new water heater, but it turns out I only needed new hoses. That was fantastic. Saved me a lot of money. I wouldn't consider using anyone else in the future.

Doug came just before 9am and was very pleasant and professional. He cleaned up before he left so there is nothing left for me to do, even taking hs trash with him.

The manifold connecting my sprinkler to the main was an extremely tight fit and had failed. As much as I tried I could not get my connection manifold to fit into the same location so I capped off the sprinkler system and decided to call in a professional to redo that portion. I called on a Tuesday morning and spoke with Rebecca, the earliest they could have someone out would have been the following morning. Shortly after I got home Rebecca called and let me know that they had a technician with an open window that evening. The plumber showed up 15 minutes later, provided some recommendations and gave me a price that I though was fair. Within 2 hours he had pulled out about 18" of galvanized steel, a steel union, a shutoff valve buried under the sprinkler valves and redid the entire connection to the main.

Great customer service beginning with the first phone call. Rebecca was professional and courteous. Ken was very professional. He came out and have us an accurate quote before he began the process. The team of 2 finished in 2 1/2 days. Water was back on by the second day. They hooked up our ice and water from the fridge as well as fixing a leak under our sink. We had our fixtures in our kitchen and bathroom replaced as well. They were very clean and organized. We have clean, clear water and emergency shut offs in every room. By far the best quote and price we received! We would definitely go to them in the future.

It went very well. We contacted Allison Plumbing to replace all the angle stops in our house (a total of 12) because we previously had one burst, which caused a great deal of water damage. Fortunately, the plumber checked them and all were of good quality and fairly new, except for the 3 under the toilets. We also wanted him to tighten our kitchen faucet, which was loose from the base. He attempted to tighten the faucet, but it could not be fixed. He provided us with some very helpful information on how we could obtain the replacement parts needed to fix the problem. This was very much appreciated, since our faucet was fairly new. We also asked him to replace our "frozen" washing machine shut on/off valves. Instead of replacing them, he was able to loosen them, which saved us a lot of money. The plumber was very knowledgeable, professional, helpful, and personable. He saved us a huge amount of money by being honest about the angle stops that did not need to be replaced, by recommending a way to get the kitchen faucet replacement parts at little to no cost, and by fixing our existing washing machine valves instead of replacing them.

The remodel went well from the beginning to the end. Ken Allison came out looked at the job and gave me an acceptable bid. Ken and his crew did the demo, installed the plumbing and tub. Next, Ken sent in Francisco to drywall and paint, next came Shawn from SMP tile. Finally, Hutch and Johnny finished up the installation of the vanity, fixtures, mirrors, lights etc. This is a company that works clean. After they worked they left my home clean and neat. I purchased all of the fixtures at the Fixture Shop in Upland and Anya Tile. Ken and Shawn picked up everything and delivered it to my home. I had such a good experience that I'm going to have them back to redo my master bath. Also I appreciate Rebecca, Ken's wife. She handled every question I had in a timely manner.
