Vigo was on time, professional, not a "salesman' or "scare tactic" approach. Just informative and competent. Which was a much better event than I experienced with the two previous garage companies. Viking Garage Doors came to my house to assess why my garage door wasn't opening. The owner/technician, Vigo Simmons, arrived on time to the scheduled appointment. He found the issue quickly. It was a broken spring. He had a replacement spring in his truck, so he was able to fix it immediately. He pounded out and reinforced the metal on the door where it had buckled due to the broken spring. He also did general maintenance on the door by oiling it and replacing a burnt out light bulb. The service took less than two hours. At the end of the service call, he walked me through everything he did. I was very happy with the repairs and the quality of the service he provided. I would use Viking Garage Doors again.

I purchased an Angie's Deal based solely upon the reviews for this provider. My garage door opener was making some awful noise (like grinding metal) and would no longer open. Gave Vigo at Viking Garage Doors a call, and with a few more details, he was able to diagnose my problem over the phone. He was willing to swing by later that afternoon to verify the problem, but I wasn't available at that short notice. How often does it happen where the service provider is willing and able to come right away, but I'm the one holding things up? I did some homework over the internet that evening, and everything he said was very consistent with what I had read. Vigo stopped by the next day, and fully explained to me the problem and my options. I could repair the gears on the unit that went bad, or replace the entire thing. No pressure from him either way. I decided to replace the whole unit (which was about 15 years old). Figured that 15 years was a pretty good run for a garage door opener, and I didn't want to replace the gears only to have another part of the unit go bad. Since I have a two door garage, I decided to get both openers changed, so I wouldn't have to call him back again in a few months. Vigo described the various models he'd recommend and the prices. Didn't try to pressure me into buying the more expensive units. Just simply gave me the info and let me decide. After I chose, Vigo agreed to come back that Saturday with the new units in hand to do the installation. He said he'd be there at 8:00a, and that it'd take about 3 hours to do both units. Come around Saturday around 7:50a, I walked into my garage to clean it out a little, so Vigo would have some room to work, and what did I see? Vigo was already in my driveway, getting a head start on assembling the openers and arranging his tools in my driveway. Said he didn't want to ring the doorbell since he was a little early, but he also figured that that he could get a head start on whatever tasks he could take care of without having to bother me. Once again, I was probably holding him up. Anyway... it took a little less than the 3 hours he quoted to get the job done. Everything works great. Vigo's service, quality, and professionalism was more than I could have expected. I'm very pleased with the overall experience.

We could not have been happier with the Viking experience. No high pressure estimate just a statement of facts and options including some creative ones to help keep cost down. We chose the best alternative for us and were never pressured to add on or upgrade. The installation was on time and perfect. Even after paying the bill we called with a question on Homelink and Vigo immediately offered to help over the phone or "jump in his truck" and come right over. You seldom see that level of customer service!

Vigo was very professional, helpful and prompt when arriving to install my garage door opener. I had originally called him to ask questions about my old opener but after discussing it with him decided to go to Sears to buy a new one. I even called Vigo from Sears to ask him questions about the openers I was looking at. I highly recommend Viking to anyone.

Viking have an "Angie's List Deal" going on at the time, I called to find out if they service my area before I buy the "deal". Turned out that they don't. But Vigo was very nice and guided me through step by step to diagnostic the problem. Over the phone, Vigo was able to hear the motor and the solution was to replace the garage door opener. I am about 55 miles away, but Vigo is willing to come same day, which is a Sunday since there is no traffic. He arrived, got the work done within the time promised. He cleaned up after the installation, haul away the old one. And since I am an Angie's list member, Vigo offered a free Keypad for the garage door. I am very happy with the service. Vigo provided same day service on a Sunday, traveled over 55 miles to help me. True professional!

Vigo came by to look at the job. He offered to try to find a different color, which he did. He came by the next day at 8:30 and was done by 12:30 PM. Very pleased with the work and Vigo was a delight to work with. Good job.

I was heading to the airport and backed into my garage door, totaling the garage door. I called Viking and Vigo answered the phone and was nearby so he stopped by. He made a few calls and installed a new door within a few hours. He was fast, fair and professional. Definitely recommended!!

Our Slab garage door failed on Wednesday, 11/7/12 and was hanging precariously. It was a safety concern and an embarrassment as everyone who drove by slowed or stopped to gawk. We called one garage door company early on 11/8/12, based on the Angie's list reviews and explained our situation. We had requested a quote to replace the door months early from them and did not follow up. When we indicated we would like a quote and service the same day, they indicated that it was unlikely since they would have too contact one of their subcontractors. A man came around for the quote. I don't believe we actually received anything in writing. I called later on Thursday (11/8/12) and got the voicemail. I left a message requesting a call back. We heard nothing on Thursday. I called on again Friday morning and got no response. We never heard back from them. I don't think we even got a quote. By 9:00 AM, Friday, I called another Angie's company (Avaunt). They told us their crews were busy but they would come out and get us some help getting our car out of the garage and making the door safe. The owner of Avaunt came out at 11:00 AM, He gave us a quote and said his crews were busy, but he would pass our problem on to another company (Viking) that could help. Vigo, the owner of Viking called soon after and arranged to come out by 3:00 PM. He and one of his assistants got my wife's car out of the garage and then secured the door in a closed position. They provided a quote and indicated they could have the garage door replaced on Tuesday morning. He indicated that they would honor the Angie's discount that Avaunt was providing. Since the quotes were very close, we wanted to reward Vigo for getting us out of our jam. We would like to recognize Avaunt for helping us get to the solution. Viking came back on Tuesday, as promised, and did a great job. We couldn't ask for any better service and delivery.

I went out to leave this morning and my garage door wouldn't open. I saw that one of the springs was broken. Checked out Angie's List and called one of their recommendations. He could not come today and was kind of far away, however he recommended Viking Garage Doors who is in the town right next to me. I called Viking he was just finishing up on another job and came within 60 to70 mins of my phone call. He had everything on his truck that he needed and didn't pull that "I don't have the correct part" that you always get from repair people.He finished the job in probably 30 to 40 mins.I would definetely use this company again and would for sure recommend him to my family and friends.
