Viking Garage Doors

Great, prompt response and fast, inexpensive repair. I suggested replacing the door and he made it clear that it wasn't necessary and just needed some reinforcement. He also tuned up the opener.

Vigo from Viking replaced my wooden garage door and opener with a roll up door and new opener about 12 years ago. I was happy to find him again on Angie's, as he is local. He responded quickly and was at my place within an hour and gone within an hour as well.

I thought that I had a spring failure when my garage door crashed one morning after backing out to go to work. I called Viking and caught Vigo as he was heading out. He was at my house in 20 minutes. It only took 10 minutes to determine that it wasn't the spring, but the bracket that hold the spring to the garage that busted. Not only did it break, but it bent the actual garage door. Vigo gave me a couple of options. One, he could replace the bracket, re-install the springs and try to bend the door back so that it was flat. It would work, but the door would not seal properly, and water and critters would still be able to get in. That would cost around $150-$200. The other option was to replace the door, and all the hardware. I could keep my opener, which he said was still in great working condition. The cost to replace the door with a similar one was $750, all inclusive. I asked about an insulated door, and that would have cost $200-$250 extra. He didn't try and "hard sell" me, which I greatly appreciate. I decided to go with the $750 option, and he was able to get it done the next morning (Saturday June 10). Vigo and his worker showed up on time (7:45AM) and had the entire job done quickly and efficiently. I'm not the kind of person that writes a lot of reviews. You have to either be a top-notch service provider or a bozo. Vigo and Viking Garage doors are top notch. If I ever need service on my garage door, he's the guy I'm going to call.

The cost was maybe $75 or something like that, it was very reasonable. I was very surprised, they were done very quickly.

Everything went very smoothly and on schedule. They clearly explained the options to choose from and what was needed. I went for the side mounted motor to leave clearance for my attic access. They arrived on time (actually a little earlier) and were done in a couple of hours. They know their business!

The quality of the door used (Unique Garage Door) was excellent and there was a very large selection of doors and options to choose from. All work was done as promised on time with no extra charges. Vigo and his helpers were punctual and very professional. Excellent Job.

After I tried a couple of things, including changing out the battery, I called Viking. I spoke with Vigo, who went through a series of questions to see if he would be able to get the door open without cutting into the metal door in order to release the emergency door release. There was nothing to do but cut the door open. We started chatting about associations and the type of door I would be needing and the cost to replace the door once we were able to get inside of the garage. I felt the price was high and mentioned a local garage door company that I had called before who installed the keypad for me but that I could not locate them and that is what led me to him. He knew immediately who they were and in fact said that they were a good company and he knew the guy and liked him. He even gave me the correct spelling of the company's name (I wasn't spelling it correctly, which is why I could not locate them). I felt that this was a pretty stand up thing to do and says a lot about his integrity and honesty. I still think he was overpriced, ($700) as I went online to the usual big box hardware stores and found the garage door I needed and their installation price was listed, and it was a couple hundred dollars cheaper. In the end, my previous garage door company came out and I punched in the code to demonstrate that the garage wouldn't open and it opened! Go figure. Must have had some moisture behind the keypad from the rain a couple of days previously.

Super friendly and super service. He didn't try to sell me extra, unnecessary services. He, on his own, without me asking, contacted Genie to see if the replacement circuit board required a different wall switch. I contacted some other garage door services and they weren't as helpful, nor did their costumer service compare to the level at Viking.

I spoke to Vigo on the phone on a Friday and he scheduled the installation for the next morning. Chris was an hour late for our appointment but they kept me informed and even offered a small discount as compensation. Chris and Vigo were very friendly and professional and I would be happy to use them again.

Showed up exactly on time. Fixed the big spring in the center, My opener is 15 years old, and he said the clutch was almost ready to go out, but that I should just run it until it breaks down, then give him a call. No hard sell on anything!. I wanted new stripping placed, however, he recommended I wait until my new driveway is completed. Will definitely call them again.

Vigo does excellent work. He's competent. organized, and careful, I find myself to be a perfectionist, and I concluded he did the job (placement of wires and a neat install) just as I would have done myself if I had his abilities. His prices were competitive, he is courteous, on time for appointments, and he left the work area clean. I was extremely happy with Viking and I highly recommend this company.

My garage door will open but it stop half way. I call Viking garage door for service through Angie's list. The cost is $27.00. Vigo the only came over the second day after I called. He checked my garage door and told me that the balance was good. He spread lubricant to all the necessary parts of the garage door. He opened my wall unit make sure that the wire connection was also good too. My garage door functioned ok. He gave me his phone number and told me to call him immediately if I have problem. A few hours later, I needed to go out, and realized the door got stuck again. I called him and told him what had happended. He instructed me to put the door in manual mode. He said he would come the next day to check it again. He camed as he promised, the door was fixed and I have no more problem again. If you have any need in garage door area, I will recommend Viking garage door to serve you. The experience I have is very encouraging. I have pasted their contact information on my garage door. If ever I have garage door problem, I will contact Viking. Service is good, price is right.

These guys are great. A cable on the right side broke and my garage was twisted and hanging funny. It wouldn't open or close manually and it looked like it was going to fall off. The Viking team came within the hour and had it fixed better than before and much quieter. Highly recommend. It was obvious that they have a lot of experience and knew exactly what they were doing. Thank you!! Will call you when it's time to replace.

Initially, I thought it went well. The door seemed to work once again, and he placed a sticker on our garage door motor unit, telling me to call him if I had need of his services in the future. Approximately three weeks later, the garage door once again refused to stay closed. I called Viking and left a detailed message, even indicating that I'd be amenable to purchasing and installing a new motor, if that's what was required. He never called me back. I waited two weeks and called a second time. Again, no return call. I am *trying* to give Viking my business (based on my initial positive interaction with him and based on his affiliation with Angie's List). But he doesn't seem to want it or need it. I wouldn't use Viking in the future because of his lack of responsiveness and apparent inability to follow up.
