I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH IN PRAISE OF MOOVERS INC! For starters, they came in with the lowest bid of the five (highly rated by Angie and Yelp) firms that I had asked to bid our move. The highest was $7300 (!) and Moovers was one of only two whose bid was a "not to exceed" figure. Their bid was $1900 for the loading, moving and unloading, figuring a maximum 10 hours time, including trucks, gas, etc. The second part of the bid was to pack the house, and this was the most amazing part of it! This was 7 weeks before the move was to take place and we had barely done the least bit of packing and moving. (Our new home was empty and most weeks we made a trip up there, filling the car each time.) Anthony carefully went thru the condo with me and came up with a bid--$1150 to pack the entire house as it stood back then. So the total price for packing everything and moving it was not to exceed $3050, total! Anthony said we could go off to Italy for 6 weeks and all would be done by them! We didn't go anywhere of course, but it instantly changed our thinking about the move. Instead of packing the whole house, we decided our time would be better spent concentrating on: Sorting, Organizing, Consolidating, Donating, Giving to our kids and Tossing stuff. Our previous several moves brought along all manner of old, unnecessary stuff such as tax returns going back into the '70's along with all the support docs, cancelled checks, etc. Yuck! So we cleaned house, and will benefit ever after from our more streamlined belongings. Along the way, we'd acquired all the boxes (except for the wardrobe boxes, which they provided) we would need, including scored of boxes we got from our tenants who had vacated our destination home. We brought them back on the return trips from the property. We hauled 8 solid-packed bankers boxes to the shredders! I have a large (500 bottle) wine collection and had about 12 wine cases, which I'd filled and taken back an forth on our trips. After that, we filled them with glassware and other smaller fragile things. They weigh almost nothing and didn't need the wrapping that the movers would have to do, saving time and money. I broke one wine glass. When all was said and done, we'd packed the majority of the house, incuding emptying and sorting all the drawers in the house. Here's where it gets really good. The bid was for 4 men and two trucks. On the appointed day, Tim showed up (on time) with 4 other men--he had brought along his 20ish year old son, who worked right along with them. When he saw that we had all the needed boxes and had packed so much, he said they would just charge us for the total time the move took, which would include the time spent packing. And they started right into both packing and loading at the same time. That part of the process took something over 4 hours. And off they went. At the other end all was promptly unloaded. Our "sleep number" king bed, with motors that raise and lower the head or foot, had been disassembled and then re-assembled, etc. They even moved a heavy sofa bed (which we'd already gotten there and were using in the master bedroom when staying over) to the spare room. It all went without a hitch. Nothing broken, nothing evem scratched that I could see. It was done; we were there! I paid them (and included a well-deserved $200 tip which they split equally) Total time: 10 hours. Total price: $1900, plus tip! Amazing. I would still recommend getting competitive bids, but I can't imagine ever using anyone but Moovers Inc. again! 6 stars on a scale of 5
Description of Work: Moovers Inc moved us from our 3 bedroom 2.5 bath 1750' condo in Novato to our new 2300' home in Lincoln Hills, up I-80 past Sacramento and Roseville and almost 100 miles away. Our hillside condo was up flights of stairs both inside and out. The destination was easily unloaded into, being a single story retirement community home with no steps and easy access. We had done most of the packing, but they packed most of the kitchen and a lot of the garage, along with stuff here and there around the house.

Description of Work: I used Moovers to complete my move to New York from San Francisco. Anthony completed the initial estimate and was really professional and answered my many questions. I had to change things a number of times and he was able to accomodate everything that was required. The team who came to pack were great - as was the unloading. The only thing I would have changed is that they packed some bed linens in a box with other things - so the linens ended up being creased and marked requiring dry cleaning. I probably should have made sure that they packed all the linens separately. Although I paid for extra insurance - not one thing was broken. I also transported a grand piano which arrived in great shape. They crated all my large glass pieces (table etc) This is a very professional firm. They were not the cheapest nor were they the most expensive.

I was given a recommendation for Moovers from another company. They were reasonably priced and provided excellent service. They shrink wrapped everything from the apartment and moved my belongings from my 3rd floor flat. I was especially impressed with the manager, he was very organized. They had great customer service and nothing was damaged.

The crew, Greg, Juan and Manuel were super. They did everything I asked, including adjusting the big bed several times. They did not put a mark on any of the furniture or hit any of the walls or stair rails with anything. They worked continuously very hard from the minute they arrived. And, they worked fast - they beat the estimated time by about 2 hours! The whole move went significantly better than I had hoped. I will happily use Moovers next time I have a move.
Description of Work: Moved furniture only from one 4 bedroom home to another. Included a BIG king size bed with a foam mattress on the second floor.

I was not on Angie’s List when I first pulled them up on the Internet for reviews on movers; but t Moovers Inc are on Angie’s List. It was excellent from start to finish. From the time of ordering the service and working with the guy on developing the inventory, how much we had to pack and how big a truck we needed, the price quote and everything; it was great. The price that he quoted me was a little over$10000. They told me that if they had to do some packing, it would cost a little bit more. They did a little bit of packing in Tulsa and I didn’t have a problem with the price on that. They were very good and the driver was really good. It was a complicated move because they were coming from their home office in California and they were picking up half of a big load in Tucson, Arizona. They did that on Saturday, February 18th when they said they were going to be there and then they picked up in Wichita on the 21st when they said they were going to be there. They said they would be here to deliver that furniture on the 25th and they actually were here and delivered it on the 23rd. That was great and they more than delivered what they said they would deliver on the schedule. The driver hired a local person in Tulsa and a local person in Wichita, and then he hired two locals to help him unload the furniture on Thursday. Everybody that we worked with was very, very good. They worked very, very hard to both load and unload that furniture. The driver put in 4 hours loading furniture and then he would drive 11 hours. I don’t know how he did it. The price was right on and my husband’s company had agreed to pay $10000. When we got the inventory quote, I didn’t tell him how much the company was going to pay. I just told them that I needed a quote. It came in a little more than$10000 and I said that was great. They told me how much miles it was going to be and they provided a really good inventory sheet so I was able to go through it. Everything was right on and I would absolutely use them again in the future. I can’t say enough about their service.

We called for an estimate and had an appointment within days. The estimate was given on the spot which was great. The estimate was in line with others we received but we appreciated the salesperson's ability to estimate quickly and provide feedback then and there. The move was scheduled as we requested (about 4 weeks lead time). The salesperson dropped off boxes and picked up the signed forms. Actually the only glitch in the whole process was that the original minimum quote was mis-stated on the form to sign. We made a note of that and then the salesperson initialed it. Unfortunately that information did not make into the computer, so when we were again asked to sign the form on the morning of the move but with the wrong minimum - this required some calls to the main office to be resolved. Otherwise, the move was nearly flawless. The 4 men moving our furniture, boxes, and 'treasurers' were quick, hardworking, professional and very respectful of our items. 3 of the 4 men were also the deliverers and provided the same great service. All activity, from the estimate through the delivery, was on-time. In addition, the final cost was exactly as quoted (even alittle less) with no unexpected charges!
Description of Work: Moved single story house contents 180 miles to a two story house - approximately 8000 lbs. Included most items from from one house and, upon delivery, brought back 6 items for a flat rate. We packed most of the boxes and some pictures but Moovers, Inc. handled all the large and delicate items. We purchased some packing boxes and material from the firm also.

The man in charge was very detailed about how they charge for time and milage and let me know when they started the travel time and kept me informed of every step in the process. He found a mistake in his calculations at the end and corrected it (in my favor).

Everything went great. Robert, their estimator, came out and went through the apartment. Gave me a quick estimate (not exceed cost) and answered all my questions. That process took about 15 minutes. On moving day they gave me a window from 9-10, but showed up at 8:50. They got started right away and didn't mess around. They had a four hour minimum, but they were done in 2 hours from start to finish. They came in under their estimate and the total charge was $555 (i bought the insurance). However, I gave them $600 as a tip for being fast, professional, and they made me laugh. My wife and I hate moving, so they made the whole experience just awesome.

Working with them was an absolute pleasure right from the very first phone contact. They were professional, courteous, and super-responsive. Their estimator arrived at our previous home a bit early, and was seasoned, thorough, and professional. Within 15 minutes, he scoped out our moving requirements and generated a written quote on the spot which we accepted immediately. Of the three quotes we received, theirs was the best, and the eventual cost was nearly $100 lower than the estimate. We liked that the "clock" started when they arrived and their policy of charging in 15-minute increments, which resulted in a minimal "double drive time" charge for the 7-minute trip from our old home to our new one. They confirmed the schedule by phone three days before our move, and then called us the day before to arrange to start an hour earlier. Their crew arrived 15 minutes early and was very patient with us while we organized our last few things. They were friendly, careful, organized, and, in a word, awesome. They wrapped our furniture, disassembled pieces that were bolted to walls or had shelves that could be damaged in transit, and also carefully packed our home theater system and laser printer for us. We had our own wardrobe boxes, and a few were left over, so they used these to pack and move our memory foam mattress pad and latex mattress instead of charging us for a mattress box. On the other end, they put all of our furniture and boxes in the correct locations in the rooms where they belonged, reassembled the broken-down furniture items for us. The move was finished by mid-afternoon, which left us the rest of the day and evening to start the process of settling in. We will never even bother to call anyone else in the future when we are moving house. In a word, they are magnificent.

They were really great. They were fabulous and they did a fabulous job. The move was expensive and it ended up costing us about $8000, but we couldn’t have done it because we were really stressed about everything. They were really careful with our stuff and very efficient. They were just really nice guys and we had a very positive experience with them. We had a little trouble in the beginning with some cross signals and we were a little bit concerned, but as it all turned out it happened very easily. There were some communication issues in the very beginning. Their pricing was competitive and we were prepared because we knew that it was going to cost a lot of money, but we had no damage and nothing was broken. They were very nice to work with.

The team was on time and began work immediately. My house was packed up very quickly and efficiently. The team was also helpful in providing wardrobe boxes, helping me pack those and providing furniture padding for mirrors and the like. While I attempted to pack all my belongings, there were quite a few larger items that were loose - Mike, the team leader, was very helpful in getting those out and was gracious and professional the whole time. The team was able to find my apartment in Oakland easily, and survived a very awkward moving-in situation where items needed to be unloaded on the first floor garage area, moved into a small elevator, and then further moved into the apartment that didn't have a lot of clearance. Fortunately, the movers had large boxes on furniture wheels that helped speed up transport. Because we were spread out in different areas of the building, I needed to communicate with all three team members at different times. One of the guys, who was very nice by the way, did not speak much English at all. While I speak enough Spanish to get by, I didn't know how to say, "Did you put the X in the storage room already?" or "Where did you put X. Y. or Z?" It was a slight hindrance to me, but most people really don't communicate with all members of the moving team. I don't know why, but I did expect older and bigger guys. I haven't moved in a long time (though I used to move often) so I'm not sure why I expected this. I would have liked a little better communication on when the team planned lunch and breaks. There was a period of time in which I unpacked items from the wheeled boxes and moved items out of the way for them, but wasn't sure where they were. I like to be able to plan ahead so I can work on something else while the team is on break. I called Moovers, Inc. later and expressed this to Keith, and he was very gracious and understanding: not defensive whatsoever. I know that my style is different and a little more "hands on" and Keith was understanding of that. He allayed any concerns I had and noted my feedback. I really appreciated his understanding. I will be using Moovers, Inc. again in the future, and would recommend them to anyone who is looking to move in the Bay Area. :)

We did all the packing. They were pretty good and they were efficient. One beige couch was scratched and there was a black mark on it. They didn't totally cover the furniture when they moved it. The price was reasonable.

One of the file cabinets was damaged. We found that, basically, they had no regard, really. for the job.They were not really keen on doing the job. When they came in the morning, I was expecting professional service, but I was really disappointed. My experience was unfavorable and I would not use them again. I would never recommend them at all. They were pretty responsive and professional when they came for an estimate.

The men were very professional and extremely knowledgeable about how to move items. They took great care to try and assure us they would take care of our things and everything would work out. They gave us tips on how to pack up the remainder and told us how to prepare our belongings to better ensure their arrival unbroken. Their professionalism and regard for our feelings helped to make a very stressful situation tolerable. Once they got to our new home and realized we were in the middle of having new floors put in, they came up with an alternate plan to store our furniture in the garage until the floors had cured. They then came back at a later date to place our furniture in the appropriate place. They treated us as if they cared about us. I was truly impressed.
Description of Work: I hired this company to move my family's possessions to our new home. This move involved 20+ years of stuff that belonged to 5 people. We were supposedly down sizing but had no idea how much stuff we had. The company had already visited our home and given me a bid (from the least to a not to exceed). I was advised they would send 2 trucks and 4 men to move us from one city to another (local move). They arrived on time, ignored the fact that our home was in shambles, gave us an opportunity to let them know what was going and what wasn't. As things weren't completely packed and we were all in a state of upheaval, they had to maneuver around unpacked items and things that were being given away and/or tossed.

From initial telephone contact, in-home estimate, pickup and delivery, the experience with excellent! Very professional, polite, on-time and excellent follow-up. All telephone calls were returned promptly and staff ensured all questions were answered. The Bay Area crew arrived on-time, were polite and worked efficiently to complete the loading of the truck in a timely manner. The delivery of goods also went very smoothly and the driver stayed in contact to provide us with his expected arrival time. We had no lost boxes or damage to furniture. This was the most pleasant moving experience we have ever had. Thank you Moovers Inc. for your professionalism and excellent service!
Description of Work: Moovers, Inc. provided moving service for from SF Bay Area, CA to metro Atlanta, GA. They also wrapped and boxed all large, cumbersome items. We boxed all small household items, clothing, etc. and utilized Moovers to transport the items to the final destination.

After much internet searching, including Angie's List, I chose to go with Moovers Inc. A gentlemen named Robert gave me the bid and it was right on. Dan and a helper packed our stuff and Meeka, Tyler and Gabe arrived the next day to load it on the truck. All 5 gentlemen were hard working and polite and professional. Rich, the driver who delivered our items, kept in contact as he drove across country and met us right on time. My wife and I were exceptionally pleased w/ Moovers Inc and will readily use them again if the need arises. A great experience.

They are excellent. They are a private company that is made of employees from larger movers. They joined the owner of the company because they did not like how customers were being treated. They give you a minimum and maximum cost which is great.

The entire process was very smooth. The estimator was knowledgable and professional as well as friendly. The movers arrived on time and took good care of our belongings. They did not bring enought wardrobe boxes with them even though the estimate requested the correct amount. But they made a quick phone call and the issue was resolved quickly. One of my best moving experiences ever.

Three guys got to our place on time on time and got to work immediately. They were extremely quick, which was great because we were paying them by the hour. They were careful, and asked us questions if they weren't sure what we wanted them to do. When they finished loading the truck, they went to our new place, but took a wrong turn and got lost for about 1/2 hour. I was worried that I was going to be charged for the time, but before I could even say anything, the head guy apologized and charged me only for what the time would have been had they driven straight there. They unloaded things quickly and put them where we asked, and were even helpful putting together the furniture. In particular, I have a desk which is tricky to reassemble, and one of them helped me to put it together correctly even after they had stopped charging for their time. They were so quick, they ended up charging me $100 less than the quoted price. I highly recommend them, and would use them again in a heartbeat.

This went great from start to finish. The estimator seemed more detailed and to the point than the others we had at the house and gave us a good impression so we went with them. (In spite of the silly name) In the end his weight estimate was accurate and we paid close to that price. We packed our own boxes but they wrapped the furniture very well, giving a great deal more care than the company we used years ago. The guys at the house were friendly and gave us a good level of confidence that they were taking care of our stuff. A different group unloaded in Portland and it was the same experience. I would definitely use these folks in the future.
