Moovers has now filed for bankruptcy and all of our belongings are being held. They never turned paperwork over to National so National won't help. We have found 5 other affected customers so far on yelp.

I interviewed a couple of companies and they seemed to be the most knowledgeable and supportive of my needs. The workers were careful of my furniture and my things. The gentleman who owned the truck and moved the stuff here I think sorted it all well and got it all to me, and I am not missing anything and nothing was broken. I labeled everything myself; I made my own custom labels and inventoried myself, so I think that does make a difference because it was pretty easy for them to identify boxes were mine. It's whatever you ask them to do, so there was no charge for special wrapping of mirrors and framed pictures. I had them do some extra pieces that ended up having some more charges.

They were great. They coordinated with one of my family members to complete the move. They worked really hard. We were very pleased with the care they took and did not have any problems with any of the furniture. They also did not have any extra charges which I appreciated.

The booker for this move was Moovers but the carrier ended up being National Van Lines. An old unmarked moving van was used. The crew stuffed our furniture and house goods in, along with at least 3 other clients. When the truck arrived at our location, the driver had trouble getting together a crew of movers. Then, the driver could not get the truck up a hill to our house. All our goods had to be reloaded into a smaller moving van, that took 2 trips to transfer. We were charged another $843.00 to complete the move. A large (door size) mirror was broken. Our expensive exercise equipment ended up with tears in the upholstery. They did not put any packing materials around the equipment. The boxed household goods came through fine. The driver was very courteous and apologetic. He didn't deserve the problems he had getting a moving crew together. Under the circumstances, I would never recommend or use this company again!

We moved from California to Idaho in the heat of June. Finding a moving company was difficult, but ultimately we went with Moovers Inc. and we are glad we did. Robert and Tom were great. They were courteous, friendly and funny. They knew what they were doing and made the experience quite pleasant. They had the big job of packing two households, including a large house (where we had lived for 36 years) and that included a heavy piano as well as a storage unit. The guys working with them did a good job. Our home was large and packing took longer than anticipated, but they managed it all. When the truck arrived in Idaho, Robert and Kelvin were there with local workers and they unpacked that van in an amazingly short amount of time. Again, they were courteous and friendly and respectful of us and our belongings. One of the things that made us choose Moovers Inc. was that someone stayed with our truck the entire time, rather than handing the truck over to someone else and using only contractors at the destination. Robert supervised the loading in California and he supervised the unloading in Idaho, which gave us a great sense of relief and comfort. The other thing that helped our decision in choosing Moovers Inc was that they loaded our California house and then drove to the storage unit and loaded the contents there. Once the truck arrived in Idaho, they unloaded at both houses, which made our move so much easier and convenient. One thing I would have done differently is asked them not to smoke around our belongings. The first day, the men working smoked away from the house and I appreciated that. On the second day, there were additional workers who smoked while moving our belongings and I did not appreciate that as we are non-smokers. If I had it to do again, I would have asked them to smoke away from the house and not while they moved things, although that did enable them to not stop as often. Ultimately though, we enjoyed our experience with Moovers Inc and would use them again.

. Packing went pretty well. Nothing broken as far as we know. Everything well protected with quilts. Grand piano carefully boxed up. the issues were all at the delivery end. The driver told us the evening before the delivery that he did not want to bring his truck down the narrow winding road to our new house. Understandable but the lack of warning left us scrambling for storage units with A/C to store our furniture until we could locate another moving company who would ferry the furniture from the storage unit to the house in smaller trucks. The driver of the first truck offered to set this up but his charge was exhorbitant . Another day's notice would have made all the difference. The driver then complained throughout that WE were not prepared! It was much easier for him to unload into storage units than to carry each piece of furniture into the house and set it up. but he complained constantly and made a hard job that much harder.

I was very pleased with them actually. They are a sub for a bigger company, National Van Lines. We moved on December 17th and I stopped working in San Francisco on Friday and we were in the truck on Monday. They came out and did a walkthrough and they calculated the weight and ended up figuring out that it was actually less and so they charged us less. They packed the stuff on Saturday, the day after I left my job they came. We left on Monday; they were going to come on Tuesday. I said you cannot come on Tuesday and so they rerouted other deliveries so that they could accommodate us. Nothing was broken, everything was setup perfectly, same guys that did the packing did the unpacking. It was really a pleasure; they did a nice job. I would like to recommend them. I would like to say that these people were very very economical. An apartment move is considered a small move and so a lot of companies would not do them, and that was one of the problems we had and they did not have that problem. They were really top quality.

They were very good. There was nothing broken and it was very quick. They arrived with all my stuff about two hours after my flight landed which was about as perfect timing as you could get. Everything was great. They came and packed everything up very quickly and unpacked everything even more quickly. They set everything up and took things apart. They did what they were supposed to do and were very nice. There were no problems and the estimate was almost exactly accurate. I think it was like a $20 difference. I had 3200 pounds and it was all inclusive. It was about $3600 which included some boxes for $200 that I purchased from them too. It also included a shuttle fee because of my destination being in the city and you cannot get a big truck here. It came with a $50,000 insurance. I think for what I got and comparing them to other folks that it was actually a really fair price. They could've been a little quicker, but the weren't bad.

Folks that provided the estimate were prompt and punctual at arriving in the house and the quote was fair, not the lowest but not the highest of the estimates that we had obtained. On the day of the move, the movers arrived punctually and worked hard to put our items in the appropriate areas in our house. We appreciated that the movers were mostly careful not to scrape our floors or bang our walls with furniture when putting items throughout the house. However, we still got dents in our floor from a heavy coffee table hitting the ground, so while folks were trying the move wasn't perfect. We had done a lot of the packing ourselves to facilitate the move and that helped to drive down costs. However, we left the big items - furniture, refrigerator - for the movers to pad and move. And unfortunately this is where things went wrong - our refrigerator was dented, our dresser and nightstands were scratched and dented, all from insufficient padding that caused items to be damaged in transit. I understand that with any move there will be some incidental damage. But given that our move was an intercity, straightforward move, I wouldn't have expected so much damage from moving items 2 miles away. When we tried to suggest that more padding be used on different pieces of furniture we were told by the movers to just let them do their job. And unfortunately for us, that ultimately meant that our large furniture would be damaged from insufficient padding. We are disappointed with quality of the move, but felt the professionalism was fair and punctuality of the crew was excellent. We are currently working through the claims process with Moovers, but having to go through this lengthy process with them is another task on the to-do list. We went with a reputable moving company precisely so that we could avoid having issues like this arise, but that didn't work out very well for us.

The pick-up crew arrived on time, was professional, and handled my items carefully. Pick-up was on Monday and delivery was on Friday--very reasonable. The delivery crew also was on time, professional and considerate. One crew member even fixed the wobbly leg on my sofa--a problem I'd lived with for years. Awfully nice of him. Overall, I was happy with the service, and would consider using Moovers again, but there were a few hitches: --Customer service (through National, the parent company) couldn't give me a decent approximation of when to expect delivery. I was told to keep calling back. It mattered because I was driving to Vancouver, and if I couldn't be there in time, I wanted to arrange for someone to be there for delivery. --When I got the call about delivery, I wasn't told the exact COD charge, as I should have been. When I called Moovers customer service to find out the exact charge, I was given a price several hundred dollars higher than the estimate. When I questioned it, I was told I had ordered extra insurance. Not true. I went with basic insurance. The person had trouble finding the paper work, then just quoted me the original estimate. --A crucial part for putting together my office desk appeared to be missing. The delivery crew manager talked with the pick-up crew manager, who said the part was given to me in San Mateo. Not true. Several suggestions were made about how I could get someone to rig a part to put the desk together. Useful info, but something I really would rather not add to the " to do" list. Later, after the delivery crew left, the crew manager got info from the guy who actually packed the desk, who said the part was with the desk. I found it, just where he said he put it. (Very impressed with that crew member!) I ended up putting the desk together myself. This incident irked me: first, that someone tried to f**** it off on me, and then, that no one took the time to see if the part actually was with the desk. I understand the delivery crew was anxious to leave, but I was anxious to have a working desk because I work at home and had to be ready to roll come Monday morning. Part of the company's obligation, and what I paid for, is to reassemble the furniture. I didn't like having to crawl under the desk, prop the two sections of the desk together, and attach them myself. Everything seems to be here, except for an accessory to the floor lamp that allows you to adjust the light using a foot pedal with a sliding button. Don't know what happened to it.

The estimator was very prompt, and they followed up with a written estimate soon afterwards. It turns out that the estimate was way high (by about 50%), so the truck they sent was way bigger than needed. but it was nice paying less than I was expecting. On moving day they were prompt, very effiicent and pleasant. It felt a little rushed, but we were trying to stay at the 4-hour minimum, so I understand why. Some things were left in the garage that should have been put in the house, but that was minor. Nothing was broken, they moved my daughter's bed a few times without complaint, and were in and out in under 4 hours. Overall a very good experience.

the day we were moving, Campbell was hit with the worst rain storm of the year. Moovers came on time, laid plastic, wraped the furniture and mattresses and moved everything so quickly, amazingly, nothing got wet. They were fantastic. After our last experences, 2 other moving companies in 2 years, Moovers were hands down the best ever. The 3 men who moved us were professional, accommandating and friendly. And, believe it or not, they actually came in under the estimate (the other 2 companies we used exceded their not to excede estimates). I can't say enough good things about Moovers and I highly recommend them. I never write reviews but I wanted to share this.

We were moving from NY to California and didn't realize we needed to have such a move scheduled weeks in advance. The folks at Moovers were the only ones who were able to move things around to accommodate our last minute move request, and commit to having the truck meet us at the new apartment in California (San Francisco) at a specific day and time. All other moving companies gave us a range, that usually spanned between one week to 10 days. Nobody would commit to a particular day. The price quote we were given was a bit expensive, but we didn't really believe all the other low ball quotes we got from other moving companies. Shannon at the office was really good, and worked with us on the inventory list. when we got the quote, and it was too high for our budget, she applied a greater discount factor and brought it to within our range. She really worked with us. One very nice feature about their pricing is that they give you a "not to exceed" quote, so whatever happens, they commit to not charging you above what they quote. As it turned out the estimate was very accurate, and we got a call right after the weighed the truck and told us the weight and the final charge, which was within the range they offered. The move itself was very efficient. Lavell and his crew were very professional, quick and efficient. Lavell is a very special guy, with a way about him that takes a way the stress from a very stressful situation. He explained everything and put us at ease. He ensured us that the truck would get to San Francisco on time (he was driving it to San Francisco!) and that they would not take the items off the truck and into storage, even if he got their ahead of schedule - which was something we really appreciated as all other moving companies basically told us they would be putting our staff on a cross country trailer, from which it would go into storage and from which it would come with a local truck/crew to our new place. We felt that with every stage there was a chance for something to go wrong, and we had some valuable staff so we were concerned about it, but Lavell kept his word, and the staff went on to his truck and stayed there all the way till he offloaded (himself, with a local crew in San Francisco). He even gave us his cell phone number so we could call him if we needed to know where he was along the way or if there were any changes in plan. While the truck left on time, we got stuck in NYC due to Hurricane Sandy, and with our flights cancelled (twice) we were unable to meet Lavell and truck in San Francisco at the scheduled time. We called Shannon and they were very very understanding, and kept our staff on the truck for 3 extra days, and Lavell was there waiting for us with his truck on the new date. Wow! No extra charges, nothing. Just a good attitude and helpful service. All our staff made it ok, no damage. They put together all the furniture and even helped us move things around in the new apartment a few times, since we were not sure where some of the furniture were supposed to go. Overall, great service, highly highly recommended!

The driver Tom and his helpers Rob and Hamar worked hard, fast and smart. They were pleasant and professional. Any move with these guys is going to be a good move. The front door of the apartment had to be removed to get some of our large furniture pieces out but they did it with no complaint, hauling everything down the stairs from the third floor. The delivery at the new house went like clockwork, with me at the door directing where the furniture and boxes were to go. They even set up the king sized Tempurpedic bed (Tempurpedic must be latin for "heavy"). When all was said and done and the final price was figured I was pleasantly surprised to find it $100 under the bid. I will absolutely refer Moovers to anyone who needs good, professional moving services. I can't laud them enough for the excellent job.
Description of Work: Moovers Inc gave me an almost unrealistic bid to move my two bedroom apartment (3rd floor, no elevator) to a 3 bedroom house about 35 miles away. The movers showed up on time, were pleasant and professional and got right to work. Not only did the bid come with a "Not to exceed price", the final price was about $100.00 under the estimate.

I had four estimates and I pretty much had decided to go with them because of the philosophy of how they do business. When I got the quote, they were about $3000 dollars cheaper than everyone else. I don?t know if this is true now because apparently, they just switched over to be part of a national organization, but when I went with them, they were independently owned and operated by the individual who started the company with one truck years ago and he built it up to 27 trucks. When someone builds a business like that, their skin, blood, and everything is into the game. I admire that and it pragmatically says to me that they are going to be very concerned about their customer service, which they are. The gentleman that gave me the estimate had been with Moovers for 10 years. He had drove truck at one time and now he is in estimates and sales. Because we were actually moving to the East Coast and going into storage and then part of the shipment is going to go an apartment in New York and the other might go to a country home, they were very willing to work with us and how to split that up. The packers were terrific. They worked really hard and had a lot of fun between themselves while they were doing it. They have a lot of respect for each other as employees and it reflects on the ownership because that starts at the top. The loaders were terrific as well. We realized we had missed a major piece of furniture in the back of our house the next day. The driver hadn?t left yet and he said I will bring it out for you and will put it through on the truck at no additional charge.

In late June, Moovers picked up my daughter's goods from a large studio apartment in San Francisco. We paid the minimum amount since we had minimum weight. We didn't need her stuff until the first week in August. The folks at Moovers worked with us to make this move go extremely smoothly. We packed our own boxes and they wrapped the furniture for the move. They arrived a bit early in case there were parking issues, were friendly polite, and careful. It has been a while, so I can't give the specific guys the kudos, but you know who you are ;) The move was to Chicago, Illinois, in August, and an upstairs apartment without an elevator. There was also a street fair going on : / In any case, they did a great job on this end with 3 different guys than the San Francisco fellows and they were just as great as the first guys. They also came early which was great for our wait. I have seen one end of a move going well and the next end not good. Not the case here. From the office to the final box delivered, these folks were terrific and I wasn't treated as a "shipment." Believe me, having moved myself from the west coast to the east coast and back again, plus other of our kids using the larger carriers; this was worlds apart. I never thought to say these words, "The move went perfectly" with very nice folks to deal with. The other benefit is that unlike large carriers, they were responsible throughout and there would have been no passing the buck of one end to the other if there had been damage or mistakes or missed dates, etc.
Description of Work: Interstate move from San Francisco to Chicago, lllinois late June Large studio below the minimum per estimate Goods held about 5 weeks, delivered early August Self packed but they handled everything else--e.g, sofa and mattresses and furniture cellophane wrapped as part of the service Not a plate cracked unlike all my other moves with even bookcases etc broken

Moovers Inc was spectacular!!! They moved us from New York City to San Francisco in June. They were able to give us an in-person estimate (I suggest only working with companies that will do this) with a not-to-exceed guarantee (also rare and a must). They have a clear understanding of federal transportation laws and clearly follow them. They also allow you to stay in contact with your driver at any point if you want to. We found them particularly great because they are based in the bay area and offered us free storage if our stuff got to the west cost before we did. Their driver was so efficient he got here 5 days before expected! We had Moovers Inc do a full move including packing our two bedroom apartment. Their packing was excellent. We had virtually no damaged property - we had one cracked lid of a Tupperware container and EVERYTHING else was PERFECT. I have never heard of a move this good! They even helped us to assemble any furniture that they took apart for the move. And they took the time to make sure every box was in the room we wanted it at delivery.SPECTACULAR! There is no other word for it!

Besides being uncannily accurate, they were very responsive to our questions and concerns. We packed everything ourselves (except glass) to save money, and they disassembled everything (beds, tables, TV stands, etc.) and reassembled it upon arrival. Having had dining room chairs scratched in the past by a previous careless mover, we loved how they wrapped all our furniture in blankets. In spite of requesting an allowance of up to 14 days to complete the interstate move, the driver arrived within 24 hours of our arrival, so we weren't stuck without furniture. Nothing was broken or damaged, and the TX crew was fast, efficient, and courteous. Two huge thumbs up to Moovers.
Description of Work: This was an interstate move from California to Texas. The estimator came out promptly, and just by looking at the contents of our home, gave an estimate for the weight that was almost spot on. We got three estimates, and Moovers was not only the least expensive, they were the most responsive (we called five companies initially--one company wanted us to do our own estimate online and another never called us back!). The rating and reviews on Angies List was also a huge factor.

The move went very smooth with no issues. Both pickup and delivery were on time and the services were excellent. Even the phone/scheduling staff was very helpful during the scheduling process and answering our questions about the move. The pick up and drop off drivers (Mike and Richard) and their teams were friendly and helpful. For the pick up, the truck had to be parked quite far from our home, but the crew worked diligently and cheerfully to load everything up quickly. Richard and his team were great when delivering and went out of their way to help us with some of the furniture arrangements. The overall experience was great and we will definitely use them if we need to move again !!
Description of Work: We used Moovers Inc to move from Southern CA to the bay area. Besides moving all our household things, we also had an Upright Piano that they moved.
