Same Day Mold Testing Inc

Bought an Angie's List deal for mold inspection. Inspector was on time and professional. The inspection didn't find any mold, and as far as I'm aware, he didn't miss anything. A solid performance and I would use them again.

I was very happy with the service. We were worried about our baby's health, and after getting the information we had all we needed to know to make a decision about what to do.

The companies that did business in my area they were eager to have my business as opposed to somebody else that I called who was not on Angie's list. They were very prompt, very thorough and the report that they produced was very well done. I was happy with them and I am quite satisfied. I still have one question that I need to call him about, but I haven't had time to do it yet. I would use them again.

I contacted SDMT last week in regards to water in our crawl space, wanted them to come see if there was mold or sings of mold under the house as well as a few connected exterior walls. Someone from the office contacted me to set up an appointment on 1/2/13. I told her what I wanted, we had just bought the house, had an inspection, but they were very vague about this issue. I told her that we were having work done to our home so that was the reason I wanted to have someone out so that they could do work while the walls were open to save us money if there were any issues. Jason arrived between the time frame he was supposed to between 9-10. Got to the house. I explained my issues to him and he very quickly told me that it would not be worth my while at this point to do any testing for IAQ because the walls were open. I wanted him to check my crawlspace and test to see if there was mold in exterior walls. I was a bit clear as to why this was not feasible. I explained to him that I was a licensed architect and I have my LEED accredited so I understood this stuff and why we may/may not be getting ponding in the crawlspace. He went on to tell me that he didn't think it was worth his time to get any thing at this point but he was still going to charge me $100.00 to come out to the house. Which really SHOCKED ME. He was coming out from Playa Vista, was there for about 10 minutes and had the nerve to tell me that he was going to charge 100. I told him if that was the case then I wanted him to go down to the crawlspace and do the inspection, he quickly retracted and said, fine I'll only charge you 50.00 for coming out bc of gas and my time. He didn't tell me anything I didn't know, for example you have mold in the cabinet because of steam, call a soils engineer to see why you have water in your crawlspace, etc. He said to me once I told him I wanted him to go down to the crawlspace that, "didn't you say you had an inspection and your inspector said that there wasn't any mold," hoping that I would change my mind and that he wouldn't have to go down there. He them said but "I'll do whatever you want me to do and if I don't do any work today, we can work with you on the price next time. I laughed inside. Next time. As a professional in this field I deal with general contractors, sub contractors and clients all the time. I think Jason was put off buy someone who's also educated in the field. By no means am I a mold expert which is why I had the company come out. The fact that he even charged me $$ and made it seem like he provided such a fantastic service was a joke. I understand that he did make the effort to come out but if I had not made a issue about paying $100.00 for no reason he would have gone ahead and taken that from me. He should have from the beginning said since I suggest not doing any work I'll only charge you 50 today for my time and next time when the walls are closed up we'll give you discount. I asked about the 17% discount and he was very quick to explain to me that they charge $145.00 blah, blah, blah and if he did apply it I would be paying 85.00 and so I was already getting a huge discount. FYI: He did nothing when he came to my home except take some pictures. The rest was common sense. Also I said that when I spoke to the women on the phone I told her that we were having work done and if this was going to be an issue I would have reschedule for when the company could actually help me. I told that to Jason and of course he's like well I don't see it on the report. Why would I lie. I have a full time job and he met me at 10 a.m. I lose money by not going to work. All this being said he "tried" to be polite but it was not sincere, and again I've worked with many contractors and subs in my day for the past 10 years. Would not use them again because of his attitude and the fact that he was ready to take $100.00 from me for no reason at all. Lesson learned. Apologize for typos.

The technician showed up on time. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He completed the tasks in an timely efficient manner. While we are still waiting for results we are very happy with the level of professionalism they have shown thus far. We did receive the results in a very timely fashion and we used this company again for clearances after the mold was removed. Again, they were very professional and expedient. We are very impressed with the responsiveness of this company and would definitely use them again and recommend them.

Small leak from laundry hose that pooled water on concrete slab in garage and seeped into adjoining room, soaking a part of the carpet pad and minor water staining on small area of baseboards. Same day scheduling was done quickly however the I technician was 15 mins late before calling to let me know he'd be 2additional hours late. Given that this was a rental property that they knew in advance, it was annoying that I had to rearrange my day along with my tenants. At the appt the technician was polite, professional, and courteous. However the Angie's list coupon was only good for discount off the inspection and not the tests. I felt my lack of knowledge and fears of tenant lawsuit were fueled by the inspector and that multiple (10) samples was recommended to be taken. I ended up being conservative and doing just the minimum (3 samples) Turns out they did things right (outside air, room air, wall core samples = 3 submissions) and there was no detectable mold levels of concern. But I didn't appreciate the technician's suggestion to hire $500 and up remediation and water abatement. Again playing into my uneducated fears. Luckily a more knowledgable friend suggested we open the drywall in a small portion ourselves and let things dry out while waiting for the report. Since it was a Friday night inspection the lab testing didn't get back until 4 calendar days later and by then the wall and carpet was dry like a desert! I did like that this company did not do or recommend anyone for remediation or mold removal, it keeps them honest. Next time, educate yourself about what factors are required to create the bad mold and in substantial levels. If you acted quickly or the environment was not hospitable to growth, don't panic. 10 lab submissions would be overkill.

My experience was excellent. The inspection was performed promptly. I received the testing results 1-2 days later with a good explanation of the findings. Fortunately, the mold tests were negative. The small expense was worth the peace of mind. I would not hesitate to use this company again.

Called on a weekend. Jason Harris fit me on a day that was already full and, in fact, went into night. He met me at a hard-to-reach property at the appointed time and did a thorough testing. Jason looked not only at that bathroom but also at the whole house. He tested that room, the adjoining room, the hall, and outside the house most professionally. His friendly, no-pressure manner made the whole process easy and cordial. The report was delivered quickly, and it served the remediation company very well. On side matters, we had a pleasant e-mail exchange. Some time later, I needed another copy of the invoice. No problem for Jason. I should have written this review sooner, and if I were as efficient as Jason, I would have. If you see anything that looks like mold, call Jason. He is tops.

Did visual inspection and answered my questions. Did not run any actual mold tests, but I didn't ask him to. Provide a detailed written report in a few days. Very professional. I was also able to schedule it very quickly, which I needed to do.

I thought I saw mold on my ceiling. I call various mold testing and mold remediation companies. Same Day Mold Testing was the most professional on the phone. They answered a lot of questions which was helpful because I had no idea what to do. Tyisha made a follow-up call which impressed me as good business practices. I eventually hired them because of the professionalism and price. I felt that others were hiking up the price and also trying to scare me. Marelle came to the house as scheduled and explained everything to me?the various kinds of testing and the various scenarios that might occur, I had him do a surface swab test only and he did not pressure me to do the others. I am awaiting the results of the testing, but feel much relieved that it may not be as bad as I had imnagined. Marelle's knowledge is extensive so I feel I benefited from that.

I purchased a Big Deal for Mold Testing as I had been having some allergic episodes and flare ups of my asthma that seemed to coincide with moving into my new house. Tho our home inspection didn't suggest we had any mold problems, I was concerned and wanted to check further. Jason arrived on time and did a thorough testing of the bedroom and other suspect areas. He was very accomodating, even checking an area of the garage I was worried about. Happily, all the testing came back negative and Jason's conclusion was that no further testing or action would be necessary. Best of all, having the mold testing done gave me peace of mind.

They were great, everything went as planned. It was very thorough, it was a little expensive because I decided to have at least 11 samples taken, but we got a full report and we would feel confident if we we want to sell our house later. There was a follow up email from them thanking us for the business and I have no complaints. I would recommend them!

It went great overall. We got the clearance and feel confident that we can move ahead with our remodel without the worry of a hidden mold problem.

The service was very good overall! I called to set up the appointment and my husband was here while they tested. They were extremely thorough. We had a problem with mold in one room, but they also tested the connecting rooms too; they found that the highest content of air borne spores was actually two rooms down from the original room. Even though their initial price seems low, each additional type of mold is extra, but in the long run, we’re glad to have gotten these tests done!

I purchased a Big Deal for a whole house mold inspection. A technician came out to my home, but explained that if I wanted to find out what mold or if there was any mold in my home, there’d be additional charges.

The service went very well overall. They’re very prompt and can even come out immediately if you want. They showed up on time, were friendly, and reported back quickly.

He has been very prompt and professional and has striven to provide us with results and reports within a day of testing. We highly recommend his company.

I used Angie's List service to message provider with specific time and phone to call. Call was returned as requested. Provider was able to accommodate my schedule and phoned before arriving to confirm. Provider was knowledgeable and friendly. Pricing for service and samples was explained and agreed upon prior to collecting samples. Overall, good experience, professional provider and I would highly recommend.

Having skipped the mold inspection during my house purchase, we took the opportunity of the coupon offered by this company to have it done, not suspecting mold problems. (There was a funny smell in one room that we could not identify -- this inspection did not identify it either, but it was probably rodent related). The inspection was easy to plan and he arrived on time. Mostly they test for humidity near the walls. I did have one moldy panel in my garage which was recommended to replace. Other trouble areas were identified. While no mold in my home was identified, he did point out a leak under my sink which he recommended I fix ASAP, and so I did. Overall it was a valuable learning experience for me, and offered some peace of mind.

I called Jason, made an appointment a couple of days from the first phone call. I didn't catch the name of the person who actually came out, but he was punctual and professional. He gave me his recommendation of the rooms he thought we should test. I think he recommended a total of 8 tests? I wasn't prepared to spend that much money (each test is $75), so he helped me prioritize 3 rooms for a total of 4 tests (3 rooms and they always need an outside test). About a week later I received the results and very helpful suggestions. I first cleaned and then eventually got rid of some floor mats I had in the living room. Since then my 4-year-old son has been breathing better at night.

I had a mold freak out when I cleaned out my daughter's outdoor play area. I called Jason right away and he came a few hours later. He was right on time, very professional, and gave great advice. I'm very happy with this company. Definitely recommend Jason.
