Max, the owner, bid on the replacement project. I awarded him the contract based both on his high reputation and his bid, which was also the low bid. His men arrived promptly at the appointed time and began digging up the old lateral line. Digging up a line buried 4' deep in our rock-hard clay soil is hard work and required a jackhammer and a team of guys with big muscles. The workers were all polite and respectful and very hard working. It took a day to expose the old line and another day just to chip away a trench underneath our sidewalk so it the sidewalk would not have to be cut. All this time the old line was left connected so our drain continued to function. On the third day the old line was cut and replaced relatively quickly. They arranged for the City inspection and it passed, with the inspector noting that the quality of the seals used was superior to the old ones that were replaced. The soil was put back in the trench and packed by machine so it would all fit back neatly. The workers cleaned up beautifully. I wound tacking on an extra 5% just to say thanks for a job very well done.

James was running a little late but called me to let me know. He diagnosed the problem very quickly, and fixed it within 15 minutes. He showed me some things to watch out for in the future. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I would use this company again without hesitation.

The technicians from Palo Alto Plumbing were all very polite and efficient. The price for the work exceeded my guess (although I have no experience). I did have a question about the number of hours I was billed for and got a reasonable explanation when I called to ask about it. Nicole said she would still confirm the time with the technicians. She called back the following day and let me know they would adjust the bill, and the resulting compromise was adequate for me.

On 2-8-10 we replaced the two filters on our Everpure system. Coincidentally, the hot water tank 'died' at the same time and water steadily poured out of the bottom onto the cabinet floor. Turning off the water didn't stop the flow so we resorted to buckets. I called several plumbers on Angie's List. All called back but were too busy at the time. Max from P.A. Plumbing stopped by that very afternoon on his way home. He managed to get the leak under control, told us to try to get the manufacturer to replace the tank at no charge (even though it was out-of-warranty, but only two years old), and to call his company when the tank arrived and they would return to install it. It took 2-1/2 weeks to get the tank (happily at no charge to us) and I immediately called P. A. Plumbing. They had a plumber out here the very next day to replace the old tank and install the new one. They even wear those stretchy paper booties over their shoes. A job well done!

Although the boiler may have needed cleaning, the cleaning did not solve the intermittent problem. In retrospect, I feel the diagnosis was too quick and casual, and did not really look for a deeper problem. Another firm later found the problem in a defective part after a thorough examination of the entire system.

I received the $10 discount for the Angies coupon I printed out from your Web sights. That brought the price down to $230. The plumber and his helper works pretty quickly and finished the job in roughly an hour. I thought the price may be a little high, but don't really know how it compares with others. I felt better about selecting a plumber which you have reports on rather than a random selection from the phone book.

Arrived on time. Quickly determined what needed to be replaced in two toilets that were running water after use. Fixed both with no problems. Assessed my master bath shower faucet and explained to me why some water will continue to run after the water is shut off. Explanation made sense to me and no further action was necessary.

I thought they were good. They weren't as friendly as people I've used in the past, but they were certainly professional.

I needed a very small plumbing job to be done and very quickly. They were wonderful. Although he was very busy he actually came out a little over 24 hours and did that job for me. I realized it was a 20 minutes job for him and probably twice that much for travel. I was very appreciative of him for that. He was on time. When I am ready to put things back that’s whom I will be calling.

It was a good experience; they were prompt in coming at the time that they specified, they explained the job to me, and I got what I expected.

It was fantastic - see story above. Am considering them again for the additional work he proposed largely because of the way he described it and how he made me feel about the options. He's clearly knowledgable and my AC is working better than it ever has.

They had some good guidance during the quoting process. They had to remove a door frame to get unit into a tight closet space. The job ended up taking them longer than expected, but they stuck to their quote. They even reinstalled the door frame, after setting my expectations that I would probably have to get a different contractor for that task. My only quibble is that they lost a piece of the casing around our closet door. Otherwise, very clean (no sheet metal bits and screws left around), and solid workmanship.

Showed up on time. Did fine work. Had one issue with job that would have prevented us from hitching up water heater - called them early morning and left message. They returned call immediately, were horrified and had someone out here within a couple of hours. Would absolutely use them again and again. Very professional and thorough.

I called a plumber for this job, because I had had trouble when I replaced another cartridge myself. It would not seal properly. The plumber came on time and put in a new cartridge after some difficulty in getting the old one out. It seemed to be ok, but the next day there was a very small through leak of about 1 drop per 10 seconds when the shower was off. He came out again to look at it, but by the time he arrived, the leak had stopped. Two days later the leak returned, this time at about 1 drop per minute. He came a third time and put in a whole new cartridge. There have been no leaks with the second new cartridge.

Good. Tried to fix it myself, but it turned out to be more complicated than just getting the glass out and trying to reset it. Jr. worked on it diligently, fixed it, and also noticed a leak and fixed that too. Prompt, nice, efficient, clean, would use again. Oh, and he actually refused a tip. (!)

I was pleased with their service, however they charge you for travel time. They were courteous, neat and thorough.

A/C failed on hottest day of year so far. Called Palo Alto Plumbing the next morning and they were able to come in the afternoon. Arrived during scheduled 2 hour window. Diagnosed and fixed problem in minutes.

The city dug up our driveway to repair the sewer lines and when they came back to replace the driveway they found the water lines were too close to the surface. Max went to my house and gave me an estimate over the phone and then did the work the next day.

Extremely happy! He knew what he was doing and took the time he needed to do it right. He had all the parts and equipment in the car. The job was done quickly and thoroughly. The toilet had been giving me problems off and on and then I got a major leak. I asked if he could replace all the parts inside while he was fixing the gasket which he did, saying the parts were pretty old, etc. The dishwasher back flow had water coming through it every time I used the dishwasher. He first suggested I run the hot water for a couple of minutes with hot water. Then he had me run the dishwasher to see if water was still coming out the overflow. Water still came out. So he unscrewed the pipes and took out some gunk. I had a damaged faucet outside; a friend had run into it with her car. He replaced the hose bib with a new one and also added a back flow preventer. He explained that the back flow preventer should be attached to the faucet which is attached to main line.
