They were excellent. they were very thorough and helpful. Fixed what was needed to be fixed and it was a very good process. They are a family owned business.

I called them on 11/20. Max (owner) came out on 11/21 and wrote up the proposal. I called back later that day to schedule the installation. They arrive Friday 11/25 (black Friday) and did the installation in about 2.5 hrs. It was clean and professional, including a little sheet-metal work so that filter installation would be easier. They were significantly less expensive than the other bid, although, given how much time was spent (about 5 man-hours), and given the cost of the furnace (online), they made good money on this job. OK then.

They are pretty good, decent. There were a few things that could have been done slightly better. They sent someone, a younger guy, who was not as familiar with doing all the things.

Great - very comfortable on hot days now.

We have been very satisfied with them every time we have used them. They are very responsive. They are also very competent, thorough, and pleasant.

It went very well. The repairman was friendly and patient and explained that I needed to have something replaced - I don't remember what it was called but it wasn't big. Repair was made and air conditioner is working beautifully again!

Palo Alto Plumbing & Heating came out, diagnosed the problem, and had it fixed within the one hour service call. Kept to price quoted up front. This was after another company came out and said we needed to replace the heater.

They did a really good job. They did the job in less than an hour. They left the area clean.

These folks are top notch ! I requested estimates from several Angie's List listed plumbers capable of replacing external sewer lines. The Palo Alto Plumbing estimate/quote was in the middle of the range cost-wise, but I was impressed with Max, the owner's timely response and thorough quote. He took the time to return after I missed the initial appointment to talk with me and see the job site. He was attentive to the details of the job and provided a timely quote. The work proceeded smoothly over a period of three days, as estimated. The rough digging crew were professional, respectful of the property and surrounding landscaping, worked hard, did not 'goof-off'. I did not catch all of their names but they all did their jobs well. The piping crew, Moe, Phil and Wag (Wagner) completed the excavation, new pipe trenchless installation, hook-up, back fill and clean-up. They even raked the dirty evenly making if look like the six-foot deep hole they dug had never been there. These men were knowledgeable in doing this type of work, clearly experienced and conducted themselves in a professional manner. They even offered to replant a bush that had to be removed as part of the excavation effort.

This is the second time that I have worked with Palo Alto Plumbing Heating and Air. Both times I was very happy with their professionalism and the results. Both toilets are on the second floor so it would have been a difficult job to do on my own. The technician was very courteous. When he removed the old toilet he placed it into a large bag so that any remaining water in the toilet wouldn't end up on my floor. I was happy enough with their work the first time that I was willing to call them again. I will continue to use Palo Alto Plumbing Heating and Air in the future.

We were concerned at first about damage to the cabinet containing the sink. Other than the floor of the cabinet, under the sink, which they cut out, and later patched up, the cabinets were undamaged. The cabinet is still usable. However, I had to stay home the 3 days it took to complete, so I was unable to accept jobs as a substitute teacher - a small, but annoying inconvenience. The DUST kicked up by the trench digging and later the concrete pouring was frightful. They put up a plastic barrier to prevent dust from going into the rest of the house, but we still had to clean up much of what was outside the kitchen. Cleaning up the kitchen was much more involved. In fact, somehow about a pound of concrete mix was spilled under our stove, so after the concrete hardened we moved the stove out and cleaned up underneath. There was also some concrete patching in the garage, but much less bothersome. The following Monday, when a plumber came in to do the final fix-up (like patching under the sink), the company had promised someone in that morning, but did not make it until noon. Shortly thereafter we noticed a leak from the new pipes under the sink - not in the floor, but going to the access in the back wall. We called and they promised someone to fix it on Monday. I stayed home all day. Never came, but the office called - after 5 PM when they closed - apologizing and promising a man the next day. He did come the next day, and corrected the problem in a few minutes, again, at the end of the promised arrival period. I also schedule another business request for the next day to fix an unrelated problem, but this time got nobody in the time promised.

We called the company to diagnose a problem with an HVAC on a commercial building we own in Palo Alto. The company came out a few days after we called, performed some tests, and recommended a new HVAC unit. No price has yet been given for the replacement unit although we did get a bill for $360.00 for the diagnosis. We then called another company to get a second opinion. They also recommend replacement either of the compressor or the installation of a new unit. The second company did not charge for the diagnosis. When I asked why, their owner said he would hope to sell us a new unit or a new compressor. Hmm. Not impressed with Palo Alto Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning's $360.00 bill for a diagnosis. I would have expected a courtesy discount to have been issued against that bill in the hope of generating a sale. That is what I have always done with my clients when I wished to sell a product.

My HOA person said that the technician should have been able to find the valve easily. We had to go to all the trouble of turning off the water on the day that he attempted to fix it. After he fixed it, my shower started to make a banging noise. I called him back to let him know this happened after he fixed it. The manager didn't want to send anyone back. She finally said she would, but if the problem is not the installation and was related to the another problem then I will have to pay to fix it. The other plumber came in and checked the installation to make sure it was done right. My HOA person was there. The installation was installed properly and the valve was turned on right. However, no one knows why there is noise. He did not really look into the noise and suggested that it might be the plastic piping. That's the only information he gave me. He said it was a courtesy call and he would not charge me. However, they ended up charging me. The noise happened after he came to repair and then I got a bill for $160 and the noise is still there. This is very unethical. I would not use them again!

Mike was great!!! He cleaned out everything in the furnace, which fixed our rattle. He fixed the cover, which had never fit correctly, and gave me advice on our filter. He was very thorough and very professional!

Our furnace stopped working Tuesday and we had a person out on over-time to see if it could be fixed. Technician was here for about 30 minutes and he figured out that all we needed was one new part that had worn out (after 22 years). They said they would have to order the part and it would be a few days. By Friday at 3:30pm (which was the scheduled time 3-5pm) Mike was up in the attic fixing the furnace in no time. Everyone was very professional and quick I was very glad to have chosen them to come and fix the furnace. The only thing that I think they need to do is be more attentive to checking in to the customers waiting for parts to arrive. I had to call twice to find out what was going on. But they were very nice on the phone. I would use them again.

I found Palo Alto Plumbing on Angies List and contacted them about a new water heater at my house. The telephone contact person was very knowledgeable and professional, and a quote was provided over the phone. I have not yet selected a contractor for this work but was impressed by the knowledge and responsiveness of PA Plumbing.

The PA heating and plumbing tech was quick and efficient. He arrived within the time period they promised and immediately went to work. The pipe he was working on was over 70 years old and he fixed the problem quickly and without causing further damage to the existing line.

He was on time, professional, and helpful.

Office was easy to schedule an appointment - responsive. Date of service - Joe was punctual, knowledgeable, motivated and professional. He worked quickly and moved through each job with ease. We'd definately use the Palo ALto Plumbing again - highly recommend them!

I was happy with the work, but the company is refusing to honor the 15% senior discount listed on their Angie's List page.

Smooth and effortless. I am an off site property manager who needs to be able to meet a contractor, discuss the to-do list and leave the premises often. Palo Alto Heating and Air is professional, efficient and self-sufficient.

It's always fixed right and quickly, and the staff are always pleasant and professional.

It was a fine experience. They were on-time, came out very quickly, and they were polite and courteous. However, the prices were a bit high.

I was pretty confident. They do good work. They were predictable. Everything is fine. It was a difficult job and it was extensive. I don't know if I could have gotten it done cheaper or not.
