 + -1 moreThey communicated well with me as they let me know what they were going to do, about how long it would take and when they needed access to the inside of the house. They were careful about keeping my carpets protected and cleaned up after the work. The company extended the 10% discount even though I was unable to schedule the work in the time period.
Description of Work: The perimeter of the house was treated for subterranean termites. They trenched and drilled little holes in the concrete, treated the area then filled the holes back in. The attic was spot treated for dry wood termites.

 + -1 moreI was very satisfied and would hire them again. They returned and did a little work on the inside that they forgot and even adjusted my bill for the misunderstanding.
Description of Work: Arrived on time for initial inspection. Explained in detail what needed to be done. I had subterrainina termites which required injecting poison that the termites take back to their nest. The men needed to drill holes (1/4") in all of the cement that surrounds the house, treat and then fill the holes. The holes are barely visible. On treatment day two men worked effeciently, quietly and were polite and respectful of the property. Work took a little over half of the day. They instructed me on preventive measures.

 + -1 moreThey came at the right time but the day before. I had to call them to get the report. They then emailed it to me. It was just a little inconvenient. The guy that came out was knowledgeable and did a good work. I would recommend them to others. The inspection itself was very good. He took the time that needed to be done. The inspector was excellent. Just getting the report was a little inconvenient.
Description of Work: I had them come and give me a wood destroying report. They were checking for subterranean bugs for my house. It was $390 but since I paid on the day they took off 50 dollars. He was there for about two hours.

 + -1 moreThey set up the fumigation even though the property was still under escrow. All the communication was over email and someone was always available at the press of a button. The inspector came out at a days notice to do the estimate. After the final documents were signed, the fumigators came out the next day. They sent me the completion report as they had said three days after they started their work. Payment was over the phone and receipt came in the inbox promptly thereafter.
Description of Work: As a buyer, I needed fumigation work for taking care of the Section 1 work before closing escrow. The whole house was tented after performing a new inspection.

 + -1 moreOriginal 2008 review: I guess they didn't need the work, since they never returned my call. Update in 2013: it is now 5 years later, and it seems unfair to maintain the F grade. I have raised it to a D. To me, a C would mean average, mediocre work was actually done.
Description of Work: I phoned Franz on a Saturday after discovering termites on one side of the house. I left a message on their answering machine, and never received a call back.

 + -1 moreWe chose Franz Termite Control to do a report and tenting on the house we sold. They organized everything including subbing out the tenting. They worked with the tenting guys to protect a wisteria vine growing adjacent to the house. I am very fussy about my plants and even though we were leaving this house, we wanted to be careful of all the growing things. They were helpful and considerate of all my concerns. We were so pleased with their work we used them to tent the house we purchased afterwards. Same particular attention to detail. We were very pleased with their work and would recommend them.
Description of Work: Termite report, tenting; two different properties, about $2000.00 each.

 + -1 moreThey completed the work in about 4 hours. I was not there when they arrived. When I arrived home, the lead person took the time to reconfirm what they were doing. He even took me around the house to show me the prep work they had already completed. They were neat, professional and very knowledgeable. The only complaint I have is that I was told that I did not need to be there when they did the work. I called that morning to reconfirm only to find out that I needed to sign the estimate and fax it back to them prior to starting the job. I think that they should have contacted me in advance to ensure this was done prior to the day of the job. The potential problem was averted but the last minute fire drill was unnecessary. I still give them a 10+.
Description of Work: I had subterranean termites. They came to do an inspection the next day. The technician was very knowledgeable and made sure that I understood what was occuring and the damage that had already been done. I NEVER felt pressured in any way to use their service.

 + -1 moreI did get a good impression from the guy that did the work. It was a short and sweet visit. He came in to the house, checked out everything, and then gave me a clean bill of health so to speak. I did pay them during the appointment, so I did get a $25 discount because of that.
Description of Work: I have a 1300 square foot townhouse. They came in to check over the property and sign off on any problems, so that I could list my house to be sold. There were no problems, so they did not have to spray for anything.

 + -1 moreI was very pleased with Franz Termite Control and their subcontractor. Jorge came on schedule to inspect the garage and confirmed the presence of drywood termites. He said the infestation was probably too widespread for local treatment to be effective. He recommended fumigation (tenting). Cost of the inspection was $45 ($95 - $50 coupon from Angie's List). The subcontractor sent a representative to look at the garage and then Franz provided an estimate of $900 to tent it. All this was performed promptly. It was agreed to perform the fumigation at that price and the fumigation was performed on schedule about a week later. The subcontractor clearly explained the prep work I needed to do, and they did a good job of cleaning up at the end. The fumigation came with a three-year warranty.
Description of Work: Franz Termite Control performed a termite inspection of my one-car detached garage. The inspection confirmed that drywood termites were present. The garage was subsequently fumigated by a subcontractor. Franz Termite Control does not perform fumigations themselves.

Description of Work: Greg, the inspector arrived punctually and did a thorough inspection. He was friendly, very knowledgeable and helpful. He explained what he would recommend, pros and cons, and estimate for the various alternatives. We trusted him and after negotiating the price, decided to go with Franz. Pastor and an assistant arrived punctually. He surveyed the location of the termite infestation and explained the procedure, effects, safety precautions. They were very helpful and answered all our questions in a friendly, thorough manner. They removed and disposed of the affected box with its contents and the damaged part of a chest. They then dug parts of the basement ground and injected the termecide, spraying the surrounding ground. We were very satisfied with the whole experience and would use them again.

The exterminators were very free in discussing the treatment they were performing and were amenable to checking and treating the areas and adjacent spots as well as cleaning and refinishing the treated area. The guarantee is for a period of one year, during which time they will return and retreat any areas that show evidence of re-infestation. Franz's estimate for the work was the lowest of four that I received and I am happy with the result.
Description of Work: Franz Termite Control inspected and then, after submitting a work order, spot treated and cleaned the areas of infestation (four areas).

 + -1 moreI wasn't around for the work or for the estimate, but apparently they were at the house for a couple of hours injecting the treatment. I was rather surprised, that they came out to give us an estimate. When I found out they charged $95 for the estimate, I called back to cancel our appointment, but I guess the secretary didn't pass along the message. Anyhow, we went with them based on recommendations and the fact that we only wanted a local treatment and the house was only opened up for a few days and we needed to get someone out there quickly.

HE SPENT ABOUT TWO HOURS ON THE JOB. WE EVEN REQUESTED HIM TO TAKE OFF HIS SHOES WHEN HE CAME INSIDE THE HOUSE. HE SEEMS TO BE QUITE PROFESSIONAL.
Description of Work: CONDUCTED A TERMITE INSPECTION OF MY HOUSE. I REQUESTED FOR IT AND THEY SENT AN INSPECTOR TO CONDUCT A FULL HOUSE INSPECTION. HE WENT ALL AROUND OUTSIDE THE HOUSE, AND THEN CHECKED THE INTERIOR. NEXT HE WENT UP TO THE ATTIC AND LASTLY HE WENT UNDERNEATH THE HOUSE THROUGH THE CRAWL SPACE.
