I choose 3Day Blinds because of the speediness the company states they can perform. The salesperson was prompt and professional. When it came to installing my blinds, I had to call and remind them that my order was in and needed to set a time with the installer. When the installer came he was not able to finish the job because the wands provided for the wood blinds would not work and the brackets to hang the roman shades were not capable of handling the weight. That evening the manager stopped by with temporary shades and assured me they would fast track my order, get back to me, and finish the job. I have left messages for both the installer and the manager to get an update on my order. No one has returned my call. It has been over a week and I have not heard from anyone as to the status. They have my money but I don't have my Roman shades.

Flat Roman shades are nothing like the sales photo and 3 Day Blind refuses to fix them or refund any money. They also did not give me any discount for the two week delay for the third shade (which delayed entire installation), even though they knew I was in a rush because my house is for sale and needs to look good for prospective buyers. Because their sales photo of flat Roman shades does not look anything like actual product (see photos), they are committing fraud on their customers. They should be fined.
Description of Work: Based on photos in 3 Day Blind's sales book, I purchased two flat Roman shades. What they sent me, however, was just a piece of material with dents sewn into it every 8 inches. The shades do not match sales photo AT ALL, and they do not look like Roman shades. Their sales photos are fraudulent, because they will not send you shades that look as good as the ones in their photos. I also purchased a 3rd product, a shade for a skylight, which arrived two weeks late, delaying the entire installation of all the shades.

I ordered 2 honeycomb blinds and paid in full 4/09. It took 3 1/2 weeks to arrive but here is where the service - or lack of begins. The installer did not have all the brackets and said he had to return. After many phone calls of we don't know when the brackets will arrive I finally found out that they were coming from Cal. (this is Arizona - not that far) finally I asked why wasn't this sent overnight express. Finally they said they would do that and another 5 days passed. I was left with blinds half up and very angry! The installers have very limited time slots and finally we found a time that could work that I didn't have to take off work again to have blinds installed. They just called and said they are running very late. I do not want an installer coming to my house after 6pm! I don't even know if I will get them installed today or when. This company does not take any responsility for their actions. They are not a discount product and I assumed part of the price I'm paying was for better service.... HA. I would suggest anyone go to Loews or Homedepot for the same Hunter Duglas blind - you'll probably get a better price but you will definately get better service. This is a company that does not believe in accountability. I had my entire bathroom remodeled in 4 weeks. It is now 6 weeks before I will get my blinds - if I'm lucky. Also, my contracter did not expect me to pay in full until the work was done to my satisfaction. 3 day blinds are really nice when you order - and very much on time for appointments....however, you pay up front and then its too bad for you. Stay away from this company.
Description of Work: this should have been a very simple job. I ordered 2 honeycomb blinds for my bathroom. there was no original estimate. I paid upfront when the order was placed...which gives no recourse to you when 6 weeks later you are still waiting for blinds.

They came out on time and gave me an estimate on the spot. She brought samples with her to help me decide which type/design I wanted. I decided to use another company, because 3 Day Blinds had highest estimate.

My experience with them was excellent. The sales person assigned to my specific area was very nice, knowledgeable, and competent. They were prompt, responsive and dependable. They were professional, punctual and efficient. Their price was competent.

We called 3 Day Blinds and Jaci came that same day to provide an estimate. We received a written estimate the next day via email and ok'd the order. The mini blinds were ordered and in about 10 business days an installer called. The blinds were installed the next day--all 17 in about an hour.

The main reason I chose them is the promised speed. Another company quoted 40% less for one week turn around.

From quote to installation, everything was a breeze. I made an appointment for a Saturday. The installer arrived promptly at 1PM. He installed the blinds, cleaned up, and was gone within about an hour.
Description of Work: I called for an estimate on roller blinds and vertical blinds for a rental apartment on the beach. A new floor had just been installed and I was worried about fading. The beach takes such a beating from direct sun. Richard Rivera was prompt and well prepared. He discussed options, different prices, and printed the quote while I waited. He called 48 hours after the meeting and I discussed concerns- namely the time it would take to install the roller blinds. Richard offered to put in the order ASAP and in the meantime, go to the apartment and "install" temporary paper blinds. That sealed the deal for me and I booked 3 Day Blinds.

6/23: The sales person was great, she provided many samples and explained the options and the price differences between each brand of blind. She gave me an estimate delivery window based on the brands. 7/15: The scheduler called approximately in the expected delivery window, however during the call he complained to me that he hated working for 3 Day Blinds and told me he was going to quit the following week. He also told me that the installer didn't like to come to my part of the city in the morning and couldn't schedule anything other than a late afternoon appointment. 7/18: The installation experience was HORRIBLE. The installers were prompt and quickly installed what they could-but two blinds were broken and un-installable and one was entirely not ordered. The installer also let his tool belt scratch along the furniture. When I pointed it out and moved the furniture he just shrugged it off. I called the sales person and she responded to the issues including calling her manager. I was told the blinds would be fixed promptly-via a rush order. [Note: I had to call and email before finding out that one of the broken blinds needed to be sent back to the manufacturer (it was not a 3 Day Blind product, but Hunter Douglas). While the installer had said it was only the end piece that was missing, the manager told me it would take several weeks before the manufacturer would return the blind to them.] 8/1: I was told by the manager that she would schedule the installation for a portion of the order (the Hunter Douglas was still not back). After several failed attempts, I told them I d wait for the full order. 8/18 8/20: I received several garbled messages on my phone indicating that the caller was calling about my window repairs. He failed to mention the name 3 Day Blinds or even blinds and left an indecipherable number. I ended up using caller ID to call him back to figure out that he was the new scheduler and that my blinds were in. 8/29: Second installation attempt 2 out of the remaining 3 blinds get installed. It turns out that one of the broken ones was designed incorrectly; it was several feet too long. The installer offered the options of installing it incorrectly or taking it with him. 9/22: By the time the last blind was ready, I ended up going to the store to pick it up. I was done dealing with them and installed the last blind myself. From start to finish, not 3 days at all, but 3 months. Ugh!
Description of Work: Measured, prepared custom order, and installed 8 window treatments; all were honeycomb blinds, some were room darkening and some were top-down-bottom-up.

This company was difficult from the start. I called the local 3 Day number, but the call was forwarded to the corporate switchboard in some other state. I was on hold for several minutes, and the bored phone operator took down my information. A local rep. arrived on time to give me an estimate. She was nice; no problem with her, but she had no support from the company. She had to use a local internet connection to give me a quote, as the company "took away" the internet card from the reps. The samples she had were small, and difficult to visualize. The quality of the product was not name brand, and after receiving other estimates, turned out to be more expensive that name brand products. I called again to the company thinking it was a fluke to have been on hold the first time, but was no fluke. Perhaps this would have been an OK company if installation went well, but given the difficulty I had as a NEW customer, I feared what it would be like trying to solve a problem with a corporate office in another state. Not recommended; responsiveness and customer service is their extreme failing.

Visited showrooms in Pleasanton & Oakland. Got some ideas, but wanted a custom estimate and to see samples in our home,in the rooms in which they'd be used. Wendy came to see us on a Sat (not all do Sat appts.). On time, professional appearance, very knowledgeable about the products, options, & prices. Brought a laptop along & printed out estimates for a couple different configurations. She knew we were still in analysis mode, so she explained which components were on special, when the special would expire, what the non-special price would be and then left us to our deliberations. Her estimate was "in the ballpark" with the other bid we received. In the end, we chose materials,shapes and colors that 3-day did not offer. But otherwise, I found it nice to be able to visit their showrooms and was pleased with the consulting service they did provide at no cost.
Description of Work: Wanted to replace coverings for houseful of windows & sliding doors. I rated quality a "B" not because I thought the products were shoddy, but because they didn't have the selection I was looking for.

The sales representative never sent an invoice, so I had to request documentation from the office that send him out. They complied immediately. The blinds were shipped separately from the date of installation, although I didn't have to wait too long. The installation went well, and the blinds were attractive. However, they emitted an extremely unpleasant odor, which I reported immediately to the manager. He referred me to the corporate headquarters, which I then called. After several calls to headquarters, I was referred back to the store that sold me the blinds. I was told that the odor was due to the basswood that was used, and that it should dissipate in a few weeks. The odor has lasted for more than 6 weeks. I have called repeatedly, and was told that someone (my original salesman) would come out to check them, but that never happened. The sales staff at the office was polite and sympathetic, but I'm stuck with blinds that emit an awful smell. My impression was that the company was basically unconcerned about the quality of their product or their customer satisfaction!

It was a great experience. Bonnie Rattner spent time helping me design window coverings. She spent time giving great advice on window coverings. The price was very good, affordable. They were finished and ready to be installed in a week; I was very satisfied. They looked just like I wanted them to look. This is a great in-home service.

We got quotes a couple of months ago in a new house from 3 day blinds. We didn't get to thinking about blinds again till a couple of weeks ago. We called the sales lady again to see if there were special deals with 3 day blinds other than what she had offered us in the original quote. She insisted on coming to our house again to offer us 'personal service'. And unfortunately after she left, we got caught up with guests and didn't get back to her within the couple of days that we told her we would. Within two days, she started calling us asking us if we had thought about it and how she did us a favor by coming to our house again. We told her that we got busy and we would look at it in the next few days. But the calls didn't stop. She spoke to my husband who mentioned we got busy with guests and haven't had a chance. In a voice mail to us, she said she thought we were good people and how she really wanted to help us out (all of which is great and appreciated).. but then in the same message after 2 minutes of rambling, she ended up the very same voice mail telling us that she did us a favor by coming back and that she thinks we are taking advantage of her and her measurements to take to another business when she thought we were 'good people'.. etc. etc. Placating us and wooing us as customers and then rejecting us and our business all in a space of 2 minutes! We have a tape measure and we are totally capable of taking our own measurements without having a stranger at our house to do it for us!! If you use this business (I wouldn't recommend it though), be careful to get back to her within the hour of her giving you a quote.. else, you will face aggravation and nasty messages. She is just unprofessional and I have great doubts of her stability as a contact person to do business with!

The sales representative was very easy to work with. She was understanding with what we wanted and considered our budget. The workers came to install within a week which was pretty quick considering they were custom ordered. They were kind and courteous and cleaned up very well after themselves.

My office/guest bedroom needed a window treatment after having a sheet up for years. I had used 3-day Blinds in the past and thought that it would be easy to deal with them. I wasn't interested in exploring tons of options. I knew the look, texture and it was only going to be for one window, so I asked them to make a home estimate. The designer was prompt, listened to me, and told me up front about everything. He said the blinds were no longer made in Anaheim -- they are made in Baja -- so they would be shipped to me. In the past, the installer brought the blinds with him and installed them. This time would be different. When the blinds arrived, I was told to call the installation department and schedule an installation. No problems there. Blinds arrived and I set them aside. Called the installers and they came out within a day or so. They were very quick and careful. No fuss, no muss. Overall, a neat & clean job.

We looked all over for a window treatment for a large sliding glass door for our guest bedroom which opens onto our back patio. We did not want a typical vertical blind - so we ordered a vertical that is covered with a sheer fabric that lets in the light when it is opened but gives complete privacy when closed. Has a soft, bedroom look. We were very happy with the results. My husband installed them - so we just picked them up when they were ready. Installation was easy and they fit perfect. Good all around experience.

I postponed delivery due to my house painter's recommendation to paint outside of house first, then inside. When I called to schedule delivery, after much beating around the bush, discovered the blinds had been "destroyed." After nearly two years of haggling and runaround, I enlisted AL's help. After 2 weeks, still nothing. I called corporate one last time and left message that Westwood branch (now closed) refused to respond to AL, and that BBB was next. They called same day, blinds were ordered, delivered and installed within the next 8-10 days. Plus, I received a partial refund of $650.00.
Description of Work: Ordered 41 blinds for entire house. I paid for them when I ordered them, in June 2005.
