My furnace is 12 years old and stopped working around year 10. I waited 2 years to have it repaired because I don't use it often. I thought the problem would be minor since the furnace wasn't very old. As it turns out, two birds managed to get into my attic and into the engine of the furnace. Needless to say, the birds caused the engine to overheat, leak oil, etc. After the initial assessment, I waited two days for parts and the repairs were completed in just a couple of hours. The service was excellent and the Technician was friendly and professional. I would definitely use Pacific Aire again. By the way, the Technician showed us the birds. Poor little guys.
Description of Work: An estimate was provided, parts ordered and two day later, two parts were replaced on my furnace.

It works very well and are very pleased with the results. On the downside, they sold us a contract to continually check it out and I didn't know that they were charging me for it. They came out a year after installing it to change the filters. I just didn't realize that I had to pay $11.00/month for the contract but their workmanship was beautiful!

Our experience with them didn't go well. Their technician told us that we had an oil leak with our air conditioning system, and that repair work would cost $550.00. However, another provider advised we had no such problem. He went on to say that Pacific Aire has earned a reputation in this area for recommending unneeded work. I do have to mention that we've had no problems with our system since Pacific Aire recommended repairs that were never done. We discontinued their service after our last interaction about two years ago.
Description of Work: We were on a monthly contract with Pacific, and I asked them to perform an annual maintenance check on our air conditioner.

They were really great. They came in and assessed the problem almost immediately. They corrected it, and then talked to us about service options and how we could take care of the heater. If I recommend them to anybody I would say that they should definitely be their first call. I would use them in the future if I needed to.

Start to finish is described above. Be very careful in using Pacific Aire. The quote was a complete oversell.
Description of Work: Hired Pacific Aire to service the heater. Nice professional young man took the unit apart and showed me where it was rusted and leaking. He tagged it out of service. The follow up visit from the sales department is what made me decide to call another company. The salesman was extremely nice and professional. He spent close to three hours in my home showing me all of the equipment and ducting that needed to be replaced. After all of this effort he did not produce a copy of the estimate so that I could review it with my husband. I had to use a camera to take a photo of his worksheet. The quote was close to $12,000. Of course I needed to shop for additional information and quotes. I ended up using VACCO for a new heater at less the $2500. I would never recommend Pacific Aire to anyone. The company uses extreme pressure in trying to book the sale.

The service was really good and they were very informative. We ended up doing a six month service contract with them. The contract was around $70. When they came to look at the furnace, they told us what might be a problem coming up. They gave us an estimate at that time. The estimate is good for the life of the service contract. The contract is spread out over the six month period so we didn't have to pay it all at one time. They just take it out of our credit card. They even answered questions that we didn't think to bring up. He asked about a noise and asked if we had noticed it. We said that it didn't sound out of the normal and he said it was. He just fixed it with a little piece of tape. Had we been charged for the call, it would have been about as much as the service contract over six months. The price was very reasonable. They have several different service contracts. Ours cover the furnace and the condenser for the air conditioner.

Although we were reluctant to have an HVAC unit installed in the very cramped attic area, the provider insisted that it was viable. After much work and re-fitting the installation was completed. We signed and paid for an expensive maintenance contract. Problems began appearing very soon after. Company made good on their maintenance agreement but always attempted to sell extras at every visit, which we did until we realized that these items were included in the contract. We never were able to effect any sort of refund or adjustment. Another HVAC company was called in to look at the work which they determined was sub-standard. This finding was backed up by a building inspector. A number of deficiencies were found, performance of the unit was spotty. We decided to cut our loses and have a new unit installed at a cost of almost $20,000 using a new provider we felt more comfortable with. Upon dismantling of the old unit we discovered a number of developing problem areas. The new contractor found a way to install the new unit in a hallway and not the attic making servicing/access much easier. For many months afterward we were contacted by Pacific Aire for our 'scheduled' maintenance visits. We always told them we had taken their unit out and would no longer require their services. Our attempts to gain some sort of refund on the service contract were unanswered. All attempts to reach the proprietor of the company were to no avail. Pacific Aire spends a great deal of effort on advertising and sales, promising great things, their service technicians are polite and capable, the systems they offer are good. We did not feel we were treated as well as we expected given the amount of the cost. I honestly couldn't recommend this company. Their focus seems to be on building the business as big as possible using mass mail, radio and TV advertising along with persistent sales techniques. Somehow we were lost in the shuffle.

After a bit of research, we realized that the member is not the property owner, but rather the property manager and the address provided in this review is not the property at which the work was completed. Thankfully we found the correct address and we able to identify that the homeowner has been a Pacific Aire client since 2004. We appreciate his business and were happy to work through several unique situations through out the years, some of which we did for the cost of materials or at no charge. We would appreciate the opportunity to speak with the property manager, the member, directly. Our Sales Manager has left messages but unfortunately has received no response.

He was very prompt. He was clean and put booties on every time he came in the house. He showed me everything that needed to be replaced before he did the work. We didn't have other prices to compare to, but the prices seemed a little high. In fact, we didn't do everything he suggested due to his prices.

I got an estimate from Pacific Aire about a month ago but I did not contract with them for my HVAC installation. The salesman, aka comfort specialist, was nice enough and seemed fairly knowledgeable however I think he was a little too quick to recommend some expensive options, and I was put off by the fact that he did not leave me a copy of the estimate nor did he offer to email one. I had to take a digital photograph of the one he filled out on site (tacky). The estimate did not identify the make/ model of heater or air conditioner, and it was not dated. To top it off, even though he said he was throwing in a free compressor (or heater - can't remember which), his estimate was still a bit over the next highest bidder, and over 60% higher than the lowest bidder (of three). One of their selling points is a satisfaction guarantee wherein they will uninstall/remove there system for free in the first six months if the buyer is unhappy with it. That may make sense to some people but it seemed pretty useless to me - would I ever do that? Highly unlikely. If you are considering going with them you should get an explanation of their high costs.

Phone call. Inspection of existing furnace. Salesman. Installation. Three days. The company's employees are well-trained, courteous, efficient and competent. Pacific Aire secured permits, inspections, and rebates. Price seems to be higher than some other (not all) vendors; however, Pacific Aire's installation and follow-up proves that one generally gets what's paid for....

I have a state of the art Heating and A/C unit and portion of it is not longer functioning after their visit. We paid for a water trap and light that would kill mold. The cost was also for a membership in which this provider agreed to take care of us on the maintenance and upkeep of the Heating and A/C unit. I became nervous because he referred to my humidifier as a de-humidifier----consequently after his visit it is no longer working. I called the company and let them know that AFTER their service call my humidifier is not longer working and they told me “it isn’t part of the service”. This completely contradicts our agreement….they said they could service the Trane Heating A/C unit. Now that they have our money, they are not holding up their end of the bargain. Not mention, the woman that called me back talked over me.
Description of Work: This company came for regular maintenance. The service man recommended that we needed some things.

Did not use as I think they are pushy sales people that we don't need.
Description of Work: I simply called Pacific Aire to get a quote on having my heater replaced. It became hard to schedule an appointment because they need both Mr and Mrs home or they would not come out. I got a date scheduled, but then I talked with my wife and she made a very good point if we both have to be there, they are making a big sales pitch, and companies like that we don't need to deal with. I have since called a couple of other companies and they never once asked if both of us would be home, it did not seem to occur to them. I noticed on one of the other posts that they pull that stunt of having to sign up today, not the kind of company I want to deal with.

In fact, the reason we ask for this is to ensure that the needs of both spouses are met. If we only hear feedback from the husband or wife then often times we are unable to design a system that truly meets everyone’s needs. Replacing your furnace and/or air conditioner is a major investment in your home and one that will significantly determine your daily overall comfort. For this reason, we feel it is important to ask that both spouses be present.

Sale was good however it included a " Do it now for this price" which is a turnoff most times. Installers were great, clean, personable and knowledgable. I can't praise the installer enough. Very hard workers. The saleman said it would take a day to complete and later said the starting day had a training period at the beginning and the installers would arrive a couple hours later than the usual starting time. However, he did not say it would take the better part of an additional day. No big deal for us but some have to take time off work to be home for the installation. He also underestimated the cost of the electrical upgrade by 30%. The separate electrician stated the price and I told him what I had been quoted and he agreed to reduce his cost out of his pocket. When I asked the saleman about it later he realized the additional cost and said, "I will look into it." Never heard back from him

We didn't end up using them...they were twice as much as every other price we got. We got 8 estimates and not one of them was over 7000... Pacific Aire wanted 13000. (For the same unit even.) There work might be good but they might want to recheck their pricing.

Unable to reach me on a sunday, the company cancelled my monday appointment unilaterally. There was no apology or remorse. I did however receive blame that despite MAKING AN APPOINTMENT 10 DAYS PRIOR, they felt the need to leave me with no service whatsoever. I guess they didn't want my business

They installed the gas furnace for us and it was a good experience. They completed the work in about 3 hours and the furnace worked well. They were professional, responsive and punctual. The quality of work and the price was good.

I just want to say how impressed I was with Pacific Aire. I received a letter in the mail offering a special price for a tune up on my furnace. I liked the fact that it was a local company that has been in business for many years. The owners, Mark and Cynthia, put their picture on the letter. When I called Pacific Aire to make the appointment, the customer service representative was very friendly and helpful. They told me I could go online and see a profile on her and all of the service guys. A couple of days later, the young man from Pacific Aire came out to my home and did the tune up. He was extremely professional and respectful and this made me feel good about working with Pacific Aire. He was also very knowledgeable and did a great job on my furnace. I am a new customer of Pacific Aire and have been very happy with my experience from the beginning. I will continue to have Pacific Aire work on my furnace and will refer others to this great company.

THEY WERE FINE. THEY CAME IN. THEY DID THE WORK IN TWO DAYS. THEY REPLACED THE UNIT THE FIRST DAY AND THEN THEY INSTALLED THE DUCT WORK THE NEXT DAY, THEY'RE A VERY PROFESSIONAL COMPANY. THEY WERE JUST LATE THE FIRST DAY. MY HUSBAND HAD TO BE AT WORK.

I HAVE BEEN VERY PLEASED WITH THEM. THEY COME TWO TIMES A YEAR JUST TO CHECK OUT THE AIR CONDITIONER AND THE FURNACE. THEY CHECK THE VENTS AND THE SWITCHES AND ALL OF THAT STUFF, AND IT'S JUST GREAT.
