Sconce Electric

Greg Sconce, owner, provided a written estimate that included a $50 Angie's List discount. I called him back and scheduled the work. He and a helper showed up on time and performed the work in about 2 hours. The work was done neatly and they cleaned up afterwards. I'm satisfied with their work.

The 3 electricians arrived on time and were very courteous, clean, and got the work done in 2 hours ! They asked the appropriate questions for the various jobs and were very respectful. They were done in less time than I had expected, and they cleaned up everything before they left. Would DEFINITELY use them again!

My home was built in 1974 with aluminum wiring. I plugged in small appliance and the GFCI switch popped. Lost electricity with the GFCI switch & 5 other outlets. Tried the reset button - nothing. I ended up replacing the GFCI switch myself and I still had no electricity. So I decided it was beyond my knowledge and called Sconce Electric. I left a message and they call back within the hour. They said that they could arrive the next afternoon. They said that they would call 1/2 prior to their arrival - and they did. Cory arrived with his team, we discussed what happened, and they investigated. We discussed plan of action and cost. They re-wired the GFCI plug in kitchen and rewired two circuits properly at the electrical panel. I was very pleased that they were able to take on the aluminum wiring (not all do) and they completed the job very quickly. Cory & his team were friendly, very professional and explained the problem and solution thoroughly. I would definitely hire them again.

Everything went very well. The 2-person crew arrived at the scheduled time and completed all the work by noon. They were both courteous and professional, and also provided requested advice regarding the location, number, and type of fixtures to be installed. While working, they were cautious with my belongings in the garage and cleaned up after they were done. At my request, they made a special effort not to damage the sheetrock surrounding the broken electrical outlet box in the dining room, thus saving me the time and trouble of patching the sheetrock after their work was completed. I was pleased with the quality of their work and it was fairly priced. I would certainly use them again.

Greg and his crew arrived on time for both the estimate and the date the work was performed. The work was completed quickly, exactly to specification and the house was as clean when he left as it was when he arrived. Greg was easy to reach, I talked to him via phone on several occasions and never needed to leave a message. We will be remodeling the kitchen in the future and I would have no problem hiring Sconce Electric again.

From the time they came out to give an estimate to the time they finished the work everything was fantastic! Greg is very knowledgeable, friendly, informative, and not pushy. His prices were comparable or cheaper than other quotes. His crew was early to the appointment and worked diligently to get the job completed. We are very happy and will certainly use them again for any electrical issues!

LOOK NO FURTHER, This is where you need to end your search! The owner came out to my home bright-eyed on a Saturday morning to go over the list of items id written down. Everything from a non-functioning Doorbell to landscape lighting, Fans repaired and up to Flat screens mounted in ea. room, elect. breaker etc He suggested ways to save money in the process, who does that anymore?? Greg Detailed everything we spoke of then addressed them one by one and was clear that some problems he couldnt diagnose w/ a quick glance. I was at work while they were here but was phoned appropriately w/ any pertinent info, questions or change...No Surprises! His team came in the morning perfectly on time and my sons said they just scattered in the house like a well oiled machine, ea. knowing what they had to do. Beyond all else they were a personable group of guys and eager to please.

Service was great! The crew was on time, very professional and got through the job quickly. We are very pleased with Sconce Electric and will definitely use their services again if in need. They also gave a senior discount for labor!

A+ start to finish, timely, clean, left house like they found it.

Greg Sconce arrived on time at 9:00 a.m. with an assistant. They were clean, neat and professional. They listened to me. I explained where the family was describing the sound being present, literally above their heads, and 'in the ceiling.' I explained the inconsistent nature of the sound, and what we had eliminated as a possibility; the freezer, refrigerator, and air conditioner. I asked him to check the breaker box. Greg checked the breaker box, and looked around the house. He noticed that the main water line for our house is located outside our son's bedroom, and that all of the pipes are in the ceiling above his room, and branch out from that point. He checked the location of the hot water heater (on the other side of a different wall of his room). He took me outside and showed me the pipes entering the house. He said, "This is the main water line into your house. The pipes run up the outside wall of your son's bedroom, and into the ceiling, and from there they branch out, to your hot water heater, for example. I'm not a plumber, but there is a valve to regulate pressure in the pipe line coming into the house. Your house is about thirty years old, and I'm guessing that the valve is wearing out, the water pressure is varying randomly, and the sound is coming from the pipes." This seems like the most reasonable answer to the sound problem in the ceiling in this part of the house. "Electricity is always in the wires, it doesn't vary" Greg told me, "water pressure can vary. The sound is inconsistent, so varying water pressure is the likely answer." I agree. I asked what I owed him for the half-hour he'd spent looking for an electrical problem, and he said nothing. He handed me his card and he smiled, "You'll need us some day. Give me a call when you do." Greg is definitely a smart, experienced professional who has great trouble shooting skills and can think outside the box to solve problems. He communicates clearly and thoughtfully with warmth and some humor, and is not condescending nor does he pressure his customer to do work outside the scope of the service call or that doesn't solve the problem. I'm impressed. I think other people would like to have someone with this kind of skill, work ethic and customer service to come to work on their home. I definitely will call him when we need electrical work.

It went great. They were here on time and cleaned up after they were finished. In addition to doing the job we asked them to do, they also checked on an electrical outlet in our backyard and got our garage remote controls to work--free of charge.

I called this company because I found them on Angieslist and they offered a coupon. Unlike other companies, someone picked up the phone. Also, they told me since they were going to the same direction where I live, they can do the work in an hour. It took them more than an hour, but I was happy they could take the job on the same day. The workers were skillful, polite and looked experienced to me. They asked me to print the coupon from angieslist and gave me the discount.

The are friendly, quick and they put everything back in its spot.

Cory came on time and was able to identify and fix our problem much more quickly than we had expected. He was courteous and very helpful. He came to our house to install light fixtures on a previous occasion. We were happy with his work then as well. We recommend this company highly.

Greg Sconce and crew were awesome. Greg reviewed everything with me and his crew before doing anything. He clearly put in writing what he was going to do. He inspected all the work done. He encouraged questions. He and his crew were low key. The original cost of the job would have been $1,820. I had an Angie's list coupon for !)% off the cost of labor and so the total cost was $1,660. I have total confidence in the work done.

Sconce Electric sent a 2 man team out. They showed up at 8:00 AM sharp for an 8:15 AM appointment. They were very courteous and installed the 2 fixtures in a very professional manner. They offered sound suggestions on fixture height and installed them as we requested. We will definitely hire Sconce Electric again for any electrical needs!

Greg did a fabulous job. He was responsive, on time, and worked quickly and neatly. I would absolutely hire him again.

Sconce arrived promptly, introduced his employees, and went right to work. They were efficient and respectful and very friendly. The finished work was spectacular and even went above and beyond on some of the finish work before they left!

I can't say enough great things about the owner and crew of Sconce Electric in Citrus Heights. When I was asking for estimates I learned the owner was out of the office, but Cory handled the estimate and follow through very well. I was kept informed of what steps needed to be taken and the start date and time, including the names of everyone on the crew. The crew arrived on time and set everything in motion. They were all kind, courteous, pleasant and I never heard a swear word the entire day. This job was at my Father's home. He is 85 and has Alzheimer's. Cory was patient, respectful and answered all my Father's questions. I was concerned about the 30 year old vinyl siding on the house and imagined the worse because the new panel was much larger than the existing one. They were able to install the new panel and the siding was not damaged it looks great. They even vacuumed up the mess from installing a new outlet in the kitchen and cleaned up every scrape outside. I highly recommend them.

The electrician was very helpful and walked me through diagnosing and fixing the problem over the phone at no charge.

Greg and his team were wonderful. He brought enough of his guys with him to finish the work in just one day. He gave me solid ideas of where to place the recessed lights that I wanted, patched a lighting hole that I was no longer wanting to use, and even vacuumed the house when they were done! Great work.

I contacted multiple electricians for quotes to replace all of the two-prong outlets and install two bathroom fans. Of the companies I contacted, only Sconce Electric was willing to take the job. Greg replied to me quickly and followed up when I didn't respond within a few days. He was very flexible on scheduling a time to come out and review the job and was right on time for the appointment. We walked through the house and I explained everything I wanted done and he understood it all with no problems. On the day of the job, Greg showed up on time with 5 guys to ensure the entire job could be done in one day. They worked quickly and efficiently and it may be the first home improvement job I've ever had where I didn't get the "can you come here a minute? We've run into a problem" talk. They DID run into a couple of problems (for example, there was standing water under the house) but they handled it without involving me or changing the scope or price. Greg made sure that all of the work areas were cleaned before they left and that all outlets were working properly. There was a problem with one of the lights in the bathroom and he sent his guys to lunch and then to get a new ballast and come back and install it. All told, it was about 6 hours of work and I'm thrilled with the quality. I would definitely call Sconce again in the future.
