Sconce Electric

Sconce could not figure out the problem so they did not charge me. They were here for about 30 minutes and they did not charge me at all.

The experience with Sconce Electric was wonderful. Team arrived on time (actually 10 minutes early) was professional and completed a long list of requirements in just one day. Most necessary supplies were available in their well stocked truck. Mr. Sconce had a good understanding of what was needed so very little additional discussion, direction or clarification of the job was necessary. It went exactly as was envisioned. The job required the sizing and setting of post light and post, they look great. And the replacement of the dated recessed light fixtures with the new updated fixtures has really improved the appearance of the living room. Additionally, Greg recommended a great transformer for the outdoor lighting, much better than I could find on the internet. The new outdoor lighting timers are a joy. No more worry did we remember to turn the outside lights on. After installation all old fixtures and trash was removed. I will definitely use Sconce Electric for any of my future requirements.

Greg and his crew show up on time, work timely, and clean up good after done. Greg is updating the electrical panel and wiring throughout on another house I have and all has gone well. I have recommended him to others without any hesitation.

I showed him the problem I was having and he did a good repairing the problem. He responded very quickly. I felt his pricing did not take advantage to us. He helped advice on on the better route to take to help save us some money. You can just tell he really cares instead of just coming in to do the work. He is very thorough. He gets back to you in a very timely fashion and he is really professional. He is a very nice guy.

Sconce Electric was the last of the bids and not the least expensive. Greg provided an estimate sheet with full letterhead info and detailed what was to be provided including estimate of coupon savings. He shared info regarding benefits and complexity of incorporating LED while also providing description of process and length of time for the project. To my surprise and delight, he and his associate arrived on time, protected the area from debris and cleaned up beautifully after completing the project. This company raises the bar for professionalism and we would definitely use them again.

Greg and his team were Great!!!. Fast response time for estimate, was great doing business with him! Ralph and Corey did the work and couldn't have asked for a better team. I will be using these guys again in the near future.

Greg and his partner tested the electrical outlets in the kitchen, found the source of electricity for the kitchen in the garage, and reconnected the electrical service to the kitchen as stated above. They also replaced the damage outlet outside. They seemed expericenced and therefore efficient and knowlegeable.

Greg came out right away, saw that the GFI outlet had tripped and realized the night light had a loose bulb. When I asked how much he would charge me, he just smiled and said, "No charge." Greg has worked on my houses for years putting in whole house fans, electrical wiring for an office and electricity in an additional added wall, serveral fans and lighting fixtures. He even did some small job for my church. His work is of the highest quality. Not only that, he's extremely efficient. It doesn't take him forever to do a job, he gets in and gets out so you can go about your day. Both he and his employees are personable and really care about their customer needs. You can't go wrong with Greg Sconce of Sconce Electric. I highly recommend him.

They did a great overall job. Sconce Electric switched the plug and connected my dryer. They do fantastic work and I highly recommend their services.

In order to install attic insulation (through the SMUD Home Energy Performance Program) I learned that I needed to fix the old knob and tube wiring in the attic to avoid fire risk. I decided to update ALL the old wiring (walls, attic, garage, basement) rather than simply a stop-gap approach of only doing the attic based on recommendations from at least 5 different electrical companies. I received bids from 3 companies and the choice wasn't difficult to make: Greg Sconce's bid not only clearly outlined the entire project down to detailed description of all steps, in layman terms so I could understand, but it was also $1000 and $4000 less than his two fellow bidders. From my initial encounter with Greg, throughout the entire project (3 1/2 days of work plus 2 days waiting for the city inspector to final the work) he was always professional, friendly, and extremely willing to explain procedures and code requirements for me. He was on my doorstep less than 30 minutes after my first call, ready to inspect and measure my entire house and attic in order to submit his bid which came 3 days later. I was impressed and reassured by Greg's clearly stated commitment to doing quality and safe work with no shortcuts, yet still staying within a reasonable budget for me. I appreciated that he and his 2 man crew worked quickly and efficiently, with lots of humor and patience when they ran into the inevitable "old house" oddities which required problem solving without alarming this homeowner. Dust covers and clean up were part of each day's work, as well as respectful flexibility for my work schedule so I could be present during the work. Greg made a potentially stressful home improvement go quickly and smoothly, and I learned a lot in the process about wiring and home safety. There was not a single aspect of the project that went poorly or was less than expected. He even added an outdoor light for my home, on his own, fixture included! There is no question I will confidently use him again for future needs, plus recommend him to my friends and neighbors.

Greg and his helper were very professional and friendly. They finished the job in one day. They even had to go up in the attic and the cleanup was excellant. We were very pleased with there service we would recommend them to anyone needing electircal work.

Greg was a true professional and completed excellent work. I appreciate his patience working with me because I had to change my appointment several times because in delays receiving the ceiling fan from the warehouse of the company from which I ordered it. He was willing to work with me without complaint to schedule an appointment that worked. He was able to schedule an early morning appointment and even arrived 15 minutes early, which was appreciated on my busy schedule. The ceiling fan looks and works great and I would definitely hire Greg to perform more electrical work.

We had used Sconce about 6 months ago and very impressed sufficiently that we discontinued using another electrician. Greg and another worker arrived on time and proceeded to complete all of the projects very quickly. All work was completed very professionally and several suggestions were made that we agreed to and were also completed with the scope of the project.

They are beautiful people, and their work turned out very well. I wasn’t there when they finished the work, so I wasn’t able to ask any questions. I do plan on following up with the owner with a phone call. Overall, my experience with Sconce Electric was very positive. They were clean, courteous, and thorough. I would like to work them again in the future.

Greg (the owner) and one of his employees (Ralph) came to my home at exactly the time I had requested for the service. As soon as they entered the home, they went to work right away trying to diagnose the issue with my ceiling light. They worked quickly and professionally and were done within 10 or 15 minutes. I was very pleased with their work and would not hesitate to call Sconce Electric if another issue presented itself in my home. Friendly, courteous, and professional is what you will get if you use their services.

Finally I think I have found an electrician that is honest and competent. I called Greg at Sconce Electric because of reviews on Angies list. He was able to come out fairly promptly to give an estimate on the work. He arrived exactly on time. I felt very confident that he was competent as he explained exactly what needed to be done. His estimate seemed high, but he was giving me the "worst case scenario", taking into account that the entire ceiling may have needed to be retextured. He was able to bring out someone who was able to spot patch and match the rest of the ceiling, saving me a lot of money. All members of his crew were very friendly and efficient. Greg was the 3rd electrician I have brought in to troubleshoot our "buzzing" track lights, and the only one to find a solution to the problem. A few months later I was having my kitchen cabinets replaced, and had some questions about the cabinet lighting. Although Greg was out of town, his co-worker Ralph was able to come out the same day and give advice on what kind of wiring was needed before the cabinets were installed later that day. Of course, I will be using them to install this lighting.

Greg answered our call promptly and came by the following day to provide us with an estimate. He seemed very knowledgeable and confident. His price was in line with another couple of estimates we had had, but we liked his "I can do that, no problem"attitude. We felt confident that he could be trusted. When we called him to have the job done, he was able to schedule us pretty quickly. We decided to make a couple of changes to the original plan and Greg did it without any problems nor complaints. We had a great experience with him and are planning on using him again for a few projects we have planned around the house. Great job, Greg!

All in all we are very very happy with this company.

House was recently replumbed and plumber switched out galvanized steel pipes. Had initially requested copper but the plumber instead used plastic PEX piping. With the removal of the metal pipes, our ground was lost. Appliances being used would dim all the lights in the house, etc. I searched Angieslist and called five or six of the top electrician names. Greg was the first to call me back and arrived promptly that day. He immediately detected the problem and gave me an estimate and a date and time to do the work the very next business day. He arrived promptly, calling me first as promised, and proceeded to do the job. This included crawling under the house to run the ground and in doing so he found a leaking pipe towards the front of the house that was a result ot the previous plumber NOT correctly connecting the PEX to the existing metal pipes. There was a leak that had been dripping, to the point where the ground was completely saturated. I immediately contacted the plumber and Greg graciously explained the problem to him on the phone. Thanks to Greg the leak was repaired before it could get any worse. Greg and Ralph were extremely professional, knowledgeable and reliable. They worked like a well-oiled machine, finishing the job for less than the original estimate. I will definitely be using their services in the future and I asked for more business cards so I can refer him to friends and family.

Excellent experience. Greg was here on time, went right to work. He and Ralph worked well as a team and got the entire project done within 2 hrs. Very little clean up was required and the entire process was done quite professionally. Greg has been doing this for 20 years and our house, like many that he works on, it quite old. He did a great job and i will definitely call him for the next project.
