There really is no story. I called, he listened and advised. I followed his advice and the thing worked. End of story.

Greg came by for an estimate and evaluation. I wanted to have installed some dimmable lights in our family room and have a new purchase 60" TV mounted on the wall with surround sound. Greg came up with a great idea to have the receiver, DVD player, I-TV and other electrical items installed in our laundry room cabinet and use a infra-red sensor to access all of our remotes. We are very happy with the final outcome and are enjoying our new room. Also installed were 5 surround sound speakers and two outdoor speakers.

We have used Greg Sconce many times over the past 10 years. He is always courteous, professional, friendly and prompt. He never leaves a mess. Greg is our "go to" electrician when we need any work done!

Greg Sconce and his team helped make our move in seamless. We purchased a new construction home and opted to have our ceiling fans pre-wired ourselves, since our builder wanted to charge us $360 per fan for the room pre-wire only. Greg called me back right away to give us an estimate. He charged us at total of $1,116 to pre-wire and install four fans, plus install an additional three fans for us that already had the pre-wire. All rooms were fitted for two additional switches for fan and light, and they provided all of the switch plates to match our molding. We provided the fans for them, in their boxes and they assembled them and installed them. All of his team was prompt, professional, and very gracious. Greg, provided me with a detailed breakdown of what he was charging us and gave us a discount on labor for using Angie's List. They were quick to get the work done and it was all done perfectly. We had our fans installed in a few hours. I would recommend them to anyone. Our fans install was one less thing to worry about!!!

Greg and his team were very professional, and did an amazing job. They warned us that they would repair any holes in the walls, but did not paint, and we expected to have to do a lot of paint repairs, which was a concern, as we did not have all the colors left, and they were from a decade ago. However, they did a really good job, with only the "unavoidable" areas, such as where they needed to move outlets, needing touch up. We couldn't have asked for anything more. For other old house owners considering re-wiring, we found the biggest impact to be the challenge of moving everything, in every room, away from the walls. Of course, we do have a lot of stuff. The disruption from the actual work, touch up, dust, etc. was all much less than we had anticipated.

I recently purchased a Nissan Leaf, an electric car. The car is capable to taking a slow, "trickle" charge from any outlet however this can take many hours. There is an option to install a 220 volt rapid charger that greatly shortens charging time. I contacted my Sconce after he did an excellent job on multiple electrical projects at my mother's house in the past month. Mr. Sconce was easy to talk with and scheduled an appointment quickly. On the day of the installation, he and his crew were on time, worked continuously and worked very cleanly. I requested an installation for the charger and Mr. Sconce did a better job than I initially had in mind! I recommend him without reservation and would especially recommend him to other electric car owners!

Greg came out the same day he was called. Because it was a quick project they were able to squeeze this in. Ballast was an old style and after discussion, it was decided to modernize them. Took less than hour to fix the fixture that wasn't working.

We had a series of outlets just "go out" along with an outlet outside the house. Greg showed up in the window that he said he would on Saturday, and took care of the issue quickly and professionally. Ironically, on Saturday night, another set of outlets went out, so I called Greg for advice (before he left our house, he gave me his card and told me that if I ever have issues or need advice, to just give him a call.) When trying to explain the issue, Greg told me that he would just stop in on Sunday morning (although he doesn't work Sunday) - he showed up when he said he would, and fixed the problem, and was an overall pleasant guy to work with. I will gladly have him do future work for us - Don't waste your time calling anybody else!

The whole experience went very well. Mr. Sconce was very good about letting me know when he would arrive and sticking to schedule. He came with two other guys, so they moved quickly. They left my kitchen cleaner than when they arrived, and certainly more beautiful. They asked questions about where I wanted the lights placed, and they gave me all the information I needed to make a good decision. The guys had the project completed in 3 hours. They were serious pros. Very nice guys, and their work is impeccable. The whole experience couldn't have gone better.

I phoned Mr. Sconce at 8:00 a.m. and he said he could come out to check on the power outage problem later that afternoon. He and his crew arrived around 2:30 p.m. and after I described the problem he checked the circuit breaker and found no issue there. Meanwhile his crew were checking the outlets in the rooms where the power was out. They determined that one of the outlets had a loose wire and that was the cause of the power outage. They made the repair quickly and solved the problem.

I was pleased after first calling Greg who offered to come over the next day and personally check out the job (at no cost or commitment) to give me an accurate quote. Their price was competitive and the next day Ralph showed up on time to complete the job. He replaced/installed 3 chandelier lighting fixtures, 2 ceiling fans, installed an outdoor outlet, and replaced 3 indoor outlets and all work was performed as expected. I'd recommend them and happily call Sconce again for any electrical needs.

Gregory is fantastic! We were using a space heater in our garage when a GFCI circuit blew and we discovered that our washing machine, microwave, range, and two other outlets were wired in that circuit. YIKES! Then, it wouldn't reset. We bought the house recently and our inspector warned us that our 1969 Zinsser panel is known for failures. So we were freaked and spent 3 days with the circuit off testing every stretch of the circuit for failures. We couldn't find anything in the circuit and nothing in the panel. Hmmm. Time to fork over big bucks and get this taken care of. Okay, let's just get the panel replaced for peace of mind! So I called Gregory. He answered, he stopped his work and listened carefully to what I just said. Immediately he said, I'm 90% sure you have a circuit that isn't resetting because it needs to be banged down a little more. He walked me through the process and VOILA! We had power! Yay! Okay, we still want the panel upgrade and some rewiring, but being the holidays he couldn't make it out here for another week for an estimate. During that time our modem died and we lost access to the internet so I couldn't contact him like I had planned. But we will be arranging for work to be done with him, because talking to him was like a breathe of fresh air. YAY for helpful and friendly people! They do still exist in the world!

Greg and team showed-up actually early the morning to install the fan, and did an excellent job. They needed to run the power up to the ceiling, install and center the box to support the very large fan and 5-foot extension pole, and install the wall control. During this process, Greg actually fixed the wiring too. Our whole house fan had been installed a few years back, and required that our bedroom light be on to run. Greg and his team fixed all that needed to be "right," without additional charge, and to our satisfaction. I will use Sconce Electric again, and gladly. I cannot recommend them highly enough! Thanks so much for your good work, it is truly refreshing.

They were early for the appointment but not to early that we weren't here. Greg wrote up an estimate and gave it to me before he and his assistant performed the work. There weren't any don'ts but excellent work!

I contacted Greg by phone after perusing many List entries. He was immediately available by phone, understood what I wanted to have done, and scheduled my service after giving me a price for the work to be done. Greg and Cory showed up in a very timely fashion after first calling to say they'd be arriving within 30 minutes. We went over my options for changing and moving the light fixture. Ultimately we had to swag the light as there wasn't a "plate" large enough and plain enough to hide the hole in the ceiling. I also asked them to rewire the fixture with a darker wire. Once that was sorted out, Greg and Cory got to work moving furniture, laying drop cloths, and maneuvering 16ft ladder into place. They went to work rewiring, measuring, and getting another ladder upstairs for attic access. They then did their magic and the fixture was up and in place very quickly. Greg even did a little paint work on the ceiling to make it all seamless-this without my asking. I can't say enough about how impressed I was with the quality, professionalism, and care they took with my project. I am delighted with the results and will definitely be using Sconce Electric for any and all projects going forward.

No emergency in the great scheme of things, but a killer for me when the in-floor plug for my xmas tree failed at 4:45PM on a Friday. Greg heard the pleading in my voice and agreed to come by before going home to dinner. Like Santa, he went straight to his work, rescued the outlet which had slipped its support, reinforced the support, and left me with a better outlet than I had before the support failed. Cannot say enough about Greg and his"beyond the call of duty" service.

I was referred to Greg by a client. I called and left a message and Greg called me back within an hour. He had promised me to be at the property address by the next day, sooner if possible. This was an urgent situation with an electrical fire waiting to happen. Greg showed up by mid afternoon on the day I called. He took the urgency of the situation very seriously and responded earlier than originally promised. I'd use this company again in a heartbeat. Greg brought two of his guys with him (one quiet apprentice, and the other as engaging and funny as Greg). They stood one ladder on top of another, at right angles to each other, on the stairs, with the quiet guy down below steadying the bottom one. Greg climbed up and got it installed quickly and cleanly. It was something to see, right out of Cirque du Soleil. Something told me he'd done this sort of thing before. He also told us that, if he'd known, he could have gotten us a discount on our new fixture at the lighting store. A couple of minutes after they left, I remembered that I had meant to ask him for a recommendation on a general contractor for possible kitchen and bath work that we have been looking towards having done. Called him on his cell, he gave us a quick name and said to e-mail him, I did, and he promptly responded with all of the contractor's info. Haven't called the guy yet, but we have no doubt that he'll be as good as Greg says, and as good as Greg is. Extremely satisfied with our experience. Who says nobody provides true customer service anymore ?
